Super precision resistor was manufactured by controlling properly the thickness of $TaN_{0.1}$ (negative TCR) and Cr(positive TCR) deposited on cylindrical alumina substrate (diameter: 4 mm, length: 11 mm). Multilayer thin film resistor of $Ta_2O_5/TaN_{0.1}$/Cr/Alumina (substrate) was manufactured by depositing of $Ta_2N_5$ film on $TaN_{0.1}$ film to increase Rs to the level of 1;k{\Omega}/{\box}$ and to passivate the film. Super precision resistor with TCR of $20\pm5 ppm/^{\circ}C$ and Rs of $1\;k{\Omega}/{\box}$ was manufactured by depositing thin layers of about 10 nm $Ta_2O_5$, 100 nm $TaN_{0.1}$ and 50 nm Cr film under the properly controlled sputtering condition.

Using an alkali-solution developable photosensitive resin and a carbon black as a conductive filler, photo-patternable pastes for polymer thick film resistor were fabricated and evaluated. A photo solder resist (PSR), which is usually used as protecting layer of printed circuit board (PCB), was used as a photosensitive resin so that ultraviolet exposure and alkali-aqueous solution development of paste were possible. After fabricating the photosensitive polymer resistor paste, the electrical properties of thick film resistors were measured using PCB test boards. Sheet resistance was decreased with increasing amount of carbon black, but the developability was limited in excess loading of carbon black. The sheet resistance was also reduced by re-curing and the change rate was smaller in higher carbon black loading. Moreover, finely patterned meander-type thick film resistors were fabricated using photo-process and large resistance up to several tens of sheet resistance could be obtained in small area by this technique.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the electrical properties of thick-film resistor (TFR) prepared from $CaO-ZnO-B_2O_3-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ (CZBAS) glass containing $RuO_2$ particles. $RuO_2$-glass composite powder was made by mixing and melting oxide powders of constituents. For comparison, $RuO_2$ powder was simply mixed with glass powder. $RuO_2$-40wt% glass composite and mixture were dispersed in an organic binder to obtain printable resistor paste and then thick-film was formed by screen printing, followed by sintering at the range between $750^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$ for 10 min with a heating rate of $50^{\circ}C/min$ in an ambient atmosphere. $RuO_2$-glass composite sample showed much higher resistance compared to the simple mixed sample. This could be attributed to the difference in conducting mechanism. After sintering at $850^{\circ}C$, temperature coefficient of resistance of composite sample was lower than that of simple-mixed sample. TFR with dense and homogeneous microstructure could be obtained by using $RuO_2$-glass composite powder.

Using six kinds of epoxy acrylates and a conductive carbon black, photosensitive resistor pastes were fabricated and then their developability in alkaline aqueous solution and the resistance values after thermal curing were evaluated. In order to impart the photocurability by UV exposure and the developability on alkaline solution, epoxy acrylate oligomers with carboxyl group, acrylate monomers, a photoinitiator and so forth were used. In addition, an organic peroxide was added into the paste to get a thermally curable composition. As a result, some of the pastes were not developed depending on the kinds of oligomers and, in the developed pastes, the measured resistance showed the different values depending on their compositions, even though they contain the same amount of carbon black. Finally, the optimum oligomer was selected and then, by adjusting the amount of carbon black, the kind of monomer and the curing temperature, the photosensitive resistor paste composition which showed the sheet resistance of about 0.5 $k{\Omega}/sq.$ could be obtained.

This study has been endeavored to deposit resistance films of tin oxide on the cylindrical Pyrex glass rods. In this report, at first an outline of the film formation is described and later some electrical properities of the resistance films manufactured through new method is discussed in detail. Because the new method which is called, "Chemical Vapour Reaction Process", is not only easy to get stable resistance films, but also doesn't need vacuum systtem, it seems to be a promising fundamental process to go into flow system mass production. Electrical properties of resistance films made by the new mathod are similar to or surpassing those by provious method (for example splay method). The top data thus obtained shows that surface resistivity is 25ohm/sq. with 12 ppm in temperature coefficient of resistor. resistor.

The error of instrument transformers is measured by connecting the external burden with the secondary terminal of the instrument transformers. Because the error of transformer is affected by the apparent power and power factor of the external burden, an accurate measurement of burden is important for transformer evaluation. We have developed the burden evaluation equipment for both potential transformer and current transformer by employing the series resistor in the range of $20m{\Omega}{\sim}5{\Omega}$ and the parallel resistor in the range of $1M{\Omega}{\sim}500{\Omega}$, respectively, together with visual basic program. We could reduce testing time more than 5 times by employing method developed in this study, compared with that developed in past. This method shows more better reliability by analyzing the evaluation results and fitting graphs of burden measurements. The test results of the developed system is compared with those obtained in the power meter analyzer to verify the validity.
This paper proposes new phase error compensation method of RVDT encoder in the FFT domain. Phase errors are measured with a small combination of compensation resistors and the changes of first order coefficients of FFT for each resistor are obtained. It is found that the coefficient change is inversely proportional to the inserted resistor. The proposed method takes less time and the size of the table is smaller than previous time domain approaches. In addition, the location of the compensation resistor can be found through axis transformation of the coefficients. Finally, the peak-to-peak phase error was improved to 0.57 which is two times better than previous one.

In this paper, we present a finger tip tactile sensor which can detect contact normal force as well as slip. The sensor is made up of two different materials, such as polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) known as piezoelectric polymer, and pressure variable resistor ink. In order to detect slip on the surface of the object, two PVDF strips are arranged along the normal direction in the robot finger tip and the thumb tip. The surface electrode of the PVDF strip is fabricated using silk-screening technique with silver paste. Also a thin flexible force sensor is fabricated in the form of a matrix using pressure variable resistor ink in order to sense the static force. The developed tactile sensor is physically flexible and it can be deformed three-dimensionally to any shape so that it can be placed on anywhere on the curved surface. In addition, a tactile sensing system is developed, which includes miniaturized charge amplifier to amplify the small signal from the sensor, and the fast signal processing unit. The sensor system is evaluated experimentally and its effectiveness is validated.

Special Protection Scheme(SPS) that operates scenarios about faults beyond the normally protective action is wide system protection technology for the purpose of wide areas protection. Therefore, the SPS focuses on the improvement of the power supply capability by protecting the system rather than protecting the system equipments. Since the SPS requires emergency operation, the operation schedule is set up in advance by analyzing various scenarios. Since the SPS's action scheme uses generator tripping and is a classical method it is presently the most powerful one. However, as the setting of SPS is set to the most severe disturbance, the scheme tends to trip more generators than required to prevent fault propagation. It is highly likely that tripping generator units to prevent fault propagation would result in difficulty of system management and possibility of load shedding. Accordingly, it is desirable that generators are connected to the system within the range that ensures system stability and intelligent SPS is currently under development to solve the problem being stated. In this paper, as a part of developing the intelligent SPS, application of the fast-valving and braking resistor scheme to the generators is being proposed and analysed to reduce the number of tripped generators.

In this paper, we designed the 3-axis isotropic electric-field measurement probe using resistor-loaded short dipole with lumped chip resistors. The designed probe shows good isotropic characteristics as well as wideband and low sensitivity. The isotropic characteristics of ${\pm}0.39dB$ from 100 kHz to the 3 GHz band were derived and the reception sensitivity was 0.1 V/m. The frequency response is within 3 dB of the whole section, especially ${\pm}1.3dB$ from 150 kHz to 3 GHz, which is superior to the conventional electric field probe with short dipoles.
