The purpose of this study was to research and compare teachers' preferences for 'Great Math Class' by region and gender. The research was conducted on 261 high school math teachers by using non-probability sampling. As the results of the study, regional preference had no statistically significant difference in all four factors of 'Great Math Class' while gender preference had statistically significant difference only in the factor of teaching (methods) and learning methods. Both region and gender had statistically significant positive (+) relationship with preference for all four factors. This implies that it is necessary to consider socio-cultural factors rather than teachers' perception on class for regional differences in academic achievements in mathematics.

New mathematics textbooks for elementary school students are under development according to the 2015 national revised curriculum. Not only contents but also framework of textbooks may be interesting to the mathematics educators and researchers. Considering the high dependency on textbooks in elementary classrooms, the influence of the framework of textbooks in mathematics learning cannot be overlooked. The unit and lesson frameworks of the textbook are important because they are directly related to the quality of mathematic lessons, especially when teachers make a lesson plan based on the unit and lesson frameworks of the textbook. This study is to analyse the unit and lesson frameworks of elementary school mathematics textbooks and to find out elementary school teachers' preference about its analysed key points. For longitudinal analysis, we selected 3rd-grade mathematics textbooks of 5th, 6th, 7th, the 2007, and the 2009 national revised curriculums. For horizontal analysis, we selected 3rd-grade mathematics textbooks of Korea, Japan, United States and Finland. We compared unit and lesson frameworks of various textbooks, and abstracted key elements of the textbook frameworks, and constructed survey questions. Looking at results from survey questions based on analysed key points, we were able to grasp the teachers' preference for unit and lesson frameworks for mathematics textbook. Based on the results of this study, some implications for the development of framework for new mathematics textbooks are suggested.
Purpose - The objective of this paper is to identify how different incentive factors influence teachers with different ages and professional titles at LinYi University, China. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 435 university teachers participated in the study, and the Grey Correlation Degree Analysis method was used to analyze the sample data. Results - The results indicated that teachers with different professional titles and ages have different levels of preference on various incentive factors. Young and assistant-level teachers seem to place more importance on incentives than associate and senior-level teachers. Conclusions - This study has some practical implications. First, the principal and school administrators should pay more attention to young and middle-aged teachers and to how these teachers are motivated through monetary incentives as compared to associate or senior-level teachers. Second, school administrators should pay more attention to teachers' opportunities for career growth and should provide more opportunity for academic promotion. In order to stimulate positivity in teachers, school administrators should adopt various incentive systems.
The purpose of this study was to provide research results on how teacher background variables and teacher efficacy affect the teacher's instructional behavior of elementary school teachers in student participatory classes. A survey was conducted on 122 elementary school teachers in the G area and a regression analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship of influence between variables. As a result of the regression analysis, self-regulation efficiency and task difficulty preference had a significant impact on elementary teachers' instructional behavior. As for teaching knowledge, class motivation, which are sub-variable factors in class behavior, self-regulating efficacy had a higher influence than task difficulty preference and for class communication, task difficulty preference had a higher influence than self-regulating efficacy. Based on the results of the study, we considered ways to show desirable teaching behavior of elementary school teachers in student participatory classes.

The purpose of this study was to explore kindergarten students' attitude toward science by their gender and teachers' background. 90 kindergarten teachers and 180 5-year-old students were intentionally sampled in a suburban area. The research instruments used in this study were the interview questions of student attitude to science and the teacher's background questionnaire. The interview questions constructed by two researchers, based on "The Students' Attitude to Science Scale"(Pell & Farvis, 2001). It was composed of 13 questions; 7 questions on preference for science and 6 on perception to science. The teacher's background questionnaire was consisted of I question on educational background, I on career, and 51 on scientific literacy("Test of Basic Scientific Literacy")(Laugksch & Spargo, 1996). The results revealed that the students' attitude to science was positive and was different by their teachers' educational background, not by their gender and their teacher's career and scientific literacy. However, the students showed different preference for science by their teachers' scientific literacy. These results imply that early childhood teachers should have enough chances to be more educated and to improve their scientific literacy.
The purpose of this study is to analyze that The arithmetic and algebraic word problem solving skill, strategy preference, and assessment ability of elementary preservice teachers is investigated using a statistical methodology. The research findings are as follows. First, elementary preservice teachers demonstrated logical and delicate problem solving behaviors in arithmetic and algebraic word problem solving. And elementary preservice teachers prefer to create a formula and table strategy in problem solving of the arithmetic question. Second, there was meaningful difference in the math and english elementary preservice teachers' appreciations with significant level of 0.05. And there was not meaningful difference in the 1 and 4 grade elementary preservice teachers' appreciations with significant level of ${\alpha}=0.05$. Results of the study suggest that teachers education course need to improve elementary preservice teachers' word problem solving skill, strategy preference, and assessment ability in the arithmetic and algebraic.
Teacher written feedback on student compositions has received tremendous attention in second language (L2) writing research. Notwithstanding the importance of understanding both teachers' and students' perspectives on the feedback process, much of the feedback research has only looked into one-side of the story - adopting either the teacher's or the student's perspective. The current study is an attempt to look into both sides of the story by examining the types of written feedback that students prefer, the extent to which students' preferences and teachers' actual feedback practice overlap, and the extent to which student perceptions of teacher feedback coordinate teacher self-reflections on their feedback practice. Three English composition classes (3 teachers and 46 students) at a university participated in this study. It analyzed student and teacher data from questionnaires and teacher written feedback on student compositions. The results showed that students' preference for feedback on global and local issues varied across the three composition classes. This is partly a consequence of how students perceived the type of feedback that their teachers practiced. Teacher self-reflection on and student perception of teacher written-feedback generally coordinated. These findings are discussed in light of how contextual factors affect learner perception of teacher written feedback and underscore the need for examining students' reactions to feedback and teacher self-reflection.
The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the management group' and the teaching group' perception of energy education in Korea. For this purpose, this study carried out a questionnaire survey at schools participating in the energy saving policy. The data was collected from six managers and 171 teachers in middle schools. First, the results indicated that both the management group and teachers have a considerable interest in teaching energy saving practice. How ever the management group showed more preference toward teacher-leading courses, such as lecture, compared to the teachers Second, both the management group and teachers tended to take extracurricular activities. Third, the manager group mostly got energy educational resource from the teacher training program, textbook and teacher's companion. However the teachers mostly did from the mass media. Fourth, compared to the teachers, the managers preferred to allot more budgets to school facilities than to activities related to educating students related to energy. Fifth, the management group pointed out curriculum-making and more budget as the necessity to enhance energy education but the teaching groups did students' interest. Sixth, both the management group and teachers emphasis on the need of energy education.
The purpose of current study was to investigate if there is a difference in perception of professionalism depending on MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers. The subjects of present study were 350 infant childcare teachers. The results for each research question were as follows: First, when the relationship between MBTI personality types and perception of professionalism of infant childcare teachers was investigated, it was found that higher professionalism was evident when preference for judging(J) type of infant childcare teachers among MBTI personality types was stronger, and lower professionalism was evident if preference for perceiving (P) type was stronger. Second, the result of examining differences in perception of professionalism according to MBTI personality types of infant childcare teachers was that extrovert teachers had higher perception of professional knowledge and skills than introvert teachers and there was no difference in perception of professionalism between sensing and intuition types. Teachers of thinking type had higher perception about fairness and professional organizations than those of emotional type, and teachers of judging had higher perception about socio-economic status, community service, and professional knowledge and skills than those of perception. Based on this study result, discussion was made on the fact that provision of more proper role among child and infant classes may result in efficiency and emotional and professional support is necessary so that professionalism of infant childcare teachers may be heightened.
The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary school teachers' awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and find out how to apply it in elementary science education. The survey was conducted online and involved 95 teachers working in the metropolitan area. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers need to learn about the general characteristics of AI and how to apply it to education. Second, science classes had the highest preference for AI among elementary school subjects. Third, the preference for AI application by elementary science field was 68.4% for earth and space, 54.7% for exercise and energy, 32.6% for matter, 27.4% for life. Fourth, AI-based Science Education (AISE) teaching- learning strategies were developed based on AI characteristics and the changing perspective of elementary science education, AISE's teaching-learning strategies are five: 'automation', 'individualization', 'diversification', 'cooperation' and 'creativity' and teachers can use them in teaching design, class practice and evaluation stages. Finally, the creative problem-solving Doing Thinking Making Sharing (DTMS) model was devised to implement the creativity strategy in AISE. This model consists of four-steps teaching courses: Doing, Thinking, Making and Sharing based on the empirical learning theory. In the future, follow-up research is needed to verify the effectiveness of this model by applying it to elementary science education.
