대학급식소 운영형태 변화에 따른 이용실태 및 만족도 비교분석 (Measuring Attitude and Satisfaction of Yonsei University Students towards Contracted vs. Rented University Foodservices)

  • The purposes of this study were to (a) measuring attitude and satisfaction of Yonsei university students towards contracted vs. rented university foodservices, (b) determine university students' overall satisfaction & perception regarding the factors improved towards university foodservice and (c) provide recommendation on marketing strategies for university foodservices. Questionnaires were hand delivered to 600 Yonsei University students by designated coordinators. A total of 549 questionnaires were usable; resulting in an 93% response rate. The survey was conducted between October 12 to October 18, 1995. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS Programs for descriptive analysis, T-test, ${\chi}^2-test$, ANOVA, Factor Analysis and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. Performance mean score for contracted foodservice management in terms of food, menu, price, hygiene, facilities was higher than for rented foodservice management. 2. The average satisfaction score for contracted foodservice management in terms of price was lower than for rented foodservice management. There was no gap between contracted foodservice management and rented foodservice management in overall satisfaction score and price satisfaction score. 3. Perception regarding the factors improved of thirteen factors to be improved except operating hours, waiting time, price, food quantity were perceived as better by students. 4. Perception regarding the factors improved have correlation with foodservice qualify attribute's performance. 5. According to multiple regression analysis, 92.05% of the variance in respondents' satisfaction score could be explained by procedure after meal, purchasing procedure, operating hours, availability of breakfast, waiting time, atmosphere, price, facilities, service endeavor to survey satisfaction in foodservice, availability of kitchen and wall space, portion size, taste of food, change of cafeteria name, the number of seats, and variety of menu.

  • At the present time, container transportation plays a key role in the international logistics and the efforts to increase the productivity of container logistics become essential for Korean trucking companies to survive in the domestic as well as global competition. This study suggests an approach for determining fleet size for container road transportation with dynamic demand. Usually the vehicles operated by the transportation trucking companies in Korea can be classified into three types depending on the ways how their expenses occur; company-owned truck, mandated truck which is owned by outsider who entrust the company with its operation, and rented vehicle (outsourcing). Annually the trucking companies should decide how many company-owned and mandated trucks will be operated considering vehicle types and the transportation demands. With the forecasted monthly data for the volume of containers to be transported a year, a heuristic algorithm using tabu search is developed to determine the number of company-owned trucks, mandated trucks, and rented trucks in order to minimize the expected annual operating cost. The idea of the algorithm is based on both the aggregate production planning (APP) and the pickup-and-delivery problem (PDP). Finally the algorithm is tested for the problem how the trucking company determines the fleet size for transporting containers.

  • The characteristics of Japanese housing stock is as follows. 1. It is predicted that population from 2010 and general household from 2015 will decrease. The aging speed in Japan is faster than several advanced nations. 2. Housing shortage has resolved from 1973. In 1998, dwelling number per household is 1.13 houses and vacant dwelling rate is 11.5 percents. 3. Dwelling level of rented dwelling is lower than owner occupied houses; for instance, floor area of the former is one third of the latter. As for a household of thirties, family type household lived in rented houses reached 60 percents, it reveals that the demand exceeds the supply. 4. Houses constructed before the new earthquake resistant standard enforced from 1981 year is the half of the whole, housing improvement is needed in the future. Future housing market is changed to practical use of housing stock. Consequently, expansion of multi-habitation used a vacant housing of city dwellers, activation of the used houses distribution, growth of dwelling reform market, and activation of the rented houses are expected.

Determination of Fleet Size for LTL Transportation With Dynamic Demand

  • This study suggests an approach for determining fleet size for LTL (less -than-truckload) transportation with dynamic demand for on-time supply of the parts between the assembly line in an automobile company and its part suppliers in Korea. The vehicles operated by the transportation trucking companies in Korea in general can be classified into three types depending on the ways how their expenses occur; company -owned truck, mandated truck which is owned by outsider who entrusts the company with its operation, and rented truck (outsourcing) . With the forecasted monthly production data a year, a heuristic algorithm is developed to determine the number of company-owned trucks, mandated trucks, and rented trucks in order to minimize the expected annual operating cost, which is based on the solution technologies used in the aggregate production planning and vehicle routing problem. Finally the algorithm is tested for the problem how the trucking company transports parts for the automobile company.

전국 대학 기숙사 급식소의 운영 현황 및 실태 조사 (University Residence Hall Foodservice in Korea : Investigation on the Operation and Management Systems)

  • The purposes of this study were to : (a) investigate overall operating conditions of university residence hall foodservice, (b) compare them by the management systems. Questionnaires were hand delivered and mailed to 73 foodservice managers. A total of 56 were usable; resulting in 76.7% response rate. The survey was conducted between October, 1998 and May, 1999. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS/Win 6.12 for Descriptive Analysis, $x^2-test$. Sixty-four percent of the foodservice operations were 'self-operated'; 23% were 'contracted'; and 13% were 'rented'. Eighty-three percent of operations provided 'single menu'; forty-six percent of foodservice operations with 'partially self-service'; and forty-one percent with 'complete self-service'. Forty-four percent of overall foodservice operations provided 1,000-2,000 meals per day; thirty-one percent provided less than 1,000 meals per day, and twenty-four percent provided more than 2,000 meals per day. The highest meal price was 1,950 won and the lowest was 700 won with average of 1,295 won. The mean number of employees was 12.2; the number of working hours was 59.7 hours per week.

  • Eigenvalues are taken as performance criteria for structural damping design using viscoelastic material. Given material properties, optimal distribution of damping material is sought based on eigenvalue sensitivity. 석면 해체 및 제거 업체가 느끼는 관련 제도의 문제점 및 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Perceived Problems of and Improvement Measures for Asbestos Abatement Companies in Support of Related Policies)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the perceived problems of and suggest improvement measures for asbestos abatement companies in support of asbestos-related systems and policies. Methods: For this study a questionnaire was prepared consisting of current work (two questions), the contribution and necessity of a risk assessment system for asbestos abatement (two questions), and problems with and improvement measures for systems and policies (nine questions). The questionnaires were sent to 2,170 asbestos abatement companies and were returned by 83 companies (return rate = 3.8%). We conducted frequency analysis, ANOVA, and a Chi-squared test at the 5% significance level. Results: Asbestos abatement companies expressed difficulties with complying with wet work (43% of unenrolled managers), negative pressure enclosure (36% of all respondents), and installation and use of decontamination units (26% of all respondents) as stipulated in the relevant regulations. In addition, 43% of the respondents expressed concerns that the expertise of the company was not considered during bidding for asbestos abatement and hoped that an advantage (e.g., bid point) would be given to the upper grades for asbestos risk assessment (38%). Asbestos abatement companies generally rented and used negative pressure devices (including negative pressure recording devices) and suggested that periodic calibration (32%) is needed to ensure the performance of the rented equipment. Finally, the respondents asked for clear definitions for three situations specified in the Occupational Safety and Health Acts: (1) temporarily leaving the asbestos abatement workplace; (2) tasks with less airborne asbestos; and (3) physically breaking or cutting using a machine. Conclusions: The problems and improvement measures identified in this study of asbestos abatement companies can be utilized as fundamental information for the improvement of the systems and policies for safe asbestos abatement.

노인복지주택의 설치 및 운영의 문제 사례와 개선방안 (Improvement Plans for Problem Cases in the Foundation and Management of Elderly Housing Facility)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the realities and problem cases that occurred in the establishment and management of elderly housing facility in order to suggest the recommendations that help to improve the problem cases. For this purpose, 21 elderly housing facilities, which were established between 1996 and 2008 in Korea, were investigated with a documentary research method in terms of founders, managers, locations, the number of housing units, how to move-in. Also the problem cases that occurred in the establishment and management of 21 elderly housing facilities were investigated. The results were as followings. 1. Main founders and managers of 21 elderly housing facilities were the special companies for elderly housing, building companies, and social welfare corporation. Changes in the founders and managers were caused by financial problems; More than half of 21 elderly housing facilities were located in Seoul and near area; About a half of 21 elderly housing facilities had 100~200 housing units; An individual unit of elderly housing facilities can be rented or purchased, rented only, and purchased only. 2. The problems in the establishment and management of elderly housing facilities were non-return of deposit money, illegal sale of housing units, non-public registration of elderly housing facility, false advertisement, and unfair contract. 3. The problems in the establishment and management were mainly caused by the weakness in the regal and administration system for elderly housing and the illegal acts of founders and managers.

주택개보수 정책의 현안과 과제 (The Issues and Problems of Housing Improvement Policies)

  • 주택의 양적 공급보다는 질적 개선 등 유지보수가 중요해지고 있는 시점에서 본 논문은 현재 주택개보수 정책의 현안을 정리하고 이에 따른 개선방향을 제시하고자 한다. 2015년 주거급여의 개편과 더불어 저소득층에 대한 주택개보수가 확대되었으며, 각 부처에서 개별적으로 진행하는 개보수사업도 지속되고 있다. 현행 개보수정책은 공통적으로 대상자 선정을 기준으로 개별 주택에 대한 보수가 이루어지고 있으며, 주거급여의 수선유지급여는 임차가구를 제외한 자가 수급가구에 한정하고 있다. 향후 개보수정책은 구체화된 목표 설정과 활용문제를 검토하여야 하며, 주거급여는 임차가구와 소득 기준 대상자 확대를 고려하여야 한다. 또한 개별주택이 아닌 여러 주택에 대한 동시 개보수, 시공업체 선정방식의 개선, 유지보수업의 품질확보와 선진화 등을 추진할 필요가 있다.
