PHANToM Device를 이용한 다관절 로봇의 원격제어 시스템 설계 (Design of Remote Manipulator Control System using PHANToM Device)

  • This paper shows the development of remote control system for manipulators which consists of PHANToM Device as a master, Samsung FARA robot as a slave and TCP/IP based LAN fortheir Communication. This work includes the motion mapping between the master and the slave, Generation of virtual viscosity force preventing operator's unwilled action and 3D remote control simulators for the stable operation of the remote control system, etc. The remote control implementation has been performed and the results shows that the developed system can allow the operator to effectively control the manipulator.

  • KMA successfully began to receive and utilize the GOES-9 GVAR data since May 22nd 2003 when GOES-9 replaced the long-lived GMS-5 for Western Pacific and East Asian region until operation of MTSAT-1R in 2004. To take advantage of improvements of the GOES-9 data over the GMS-5 data, such as the increase of the temporal and spat ial resolution and addition of 3.9${\mu}$m channel, we have improved several algorithms to derive the meteorological products. Here we show two examples of algorithms, sea surface temperature and atmospheric motion vector, and preliminary results of validation of the improved algorithm.

무인전투차량 요구사항분석 연구: 원격통제 및 자율주행 중심으로 (A Study on Requirement Analysis of Unmanned Combat Vehicles: Focusing on Remote-Controlled and Autonomous Driving Aspect)

  • Remote-controlled and autonomous driving based on artificial intelligence are key elements required for unmanned combat vehicles. The required capability of such an unmanned combat vehicle should be expressed in reasonable required operational capability(ROC). To this end, in this paper, the requirements of an unmanned combat vehicle operated under a manned-unmanned teaming were analyzed. The functional requirements are remote operation and control, communication, sensor-based situational awareness, field environment recognition, autonomous return, vehicle tracking, collision prevention, fault diagnosis, and simultaneous localization and mapping. Remote-controlled and autonomous driving of unmanned combat vehicles could be achieved through the combination of these functional requirements. It is expected that the requirement analysis results presented in this study will be utilized to satisfy the military operational concept and provide reasonable technical indicators in the system development stage.

  • 최근 보다 안전하고 효율적인 해상운송시스템을 위한 해결책으로 자율운항선박의 개발 및 운용에 대한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 자율운항기술은 해양사고 방지, 선박의 연비 증진, 비용 절감 등 긍정적인 측면과 함께 선원의 일자리 감소, 업무의 변화, 보안문제 등 부정적인 측면도 상존하고 있다. 향후 자율운항선박의 시대가 도래 하더라도 육상 센터에서의 제어가 이루어지게 되므로, 육상 운항사의 상황인식과 같이 새로운 인적요인 이슈가 존재할 것으로 예측된다. 본 논문에서는 자율운항선박의 개발 및 운용과정에 고려해야 할 주요 인적요인 이슈를 고찰하고, 육상 센터의 제어에 따라 예상되는 육상 운항사의 의사결정 및 업무수행에 영향을 미치는 요소에 대한 식별과 영향 요소의 평가를 위한 인적 신뢰성 분석 방안을 제시하였다.

선박 항해통신장비 원격유지보수를 위한 데이터베이스 설계 (A Database Design for Remote Maintenance of Navigation and Communication Equipments in a Vessel)

  • SOLAS 선박은 SFI group 코드 기준으로 적어도 83종의 장비를 탑재해야 하고, 각각의 장비는 다시 수 개에서 수십 개의 컴포넌트로 구성이 된다. 선박 운항 중에는 이러한 장비의 정상적인 운영이 보장되어야 하고, 문제 발생시 즉각적인 수리를 위하여 원격유지보수의 요구사항이 높다. 본 연구는 항해통신장비의 원격유지보수에 적합한 장비의 분류체계를 제시하고, 적절한 데이터베이스 구조를 도출하고자 했다. 연구 결과, 선박 항해통신장비의 원격유지보수를 위하여, 장비의 분류체계는 장비의 종류, 모델, 컴포넌트로 계층화되어야 하고, 고장모드와 영향분석, 질의응답, 수리이력, 상태정보와 예방정비 등의 테이블을 장비 모델 기준으로 구축하는 것이 효과적임을 알게 되었다. 140개의 항해통신장비 모델과 750개의 컴포넌트에 대하여 데이터베이스를 구축하였고, 실질적인 효과를 평가하기 위하여 선박장비 수리전문가가 클라우드 앱을 이용하여 검색 결과의 유용성을 평가하였다.

  • 최근 IoT(Internet of Things)는 지속적인 연구를 통해 장소에 한정되지 않고 다양한 분야에 접목되어 활용되고 있다. 그러나 기존 IoT 시스템은 디바이스의 동작이 사용자 중심이 아닌 사용자의 주변환경을 중심으로 이루어지기 때문에 작업의 효율과 정확도가 낮은 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 사용자 원격 제어 분석 알고리즘을 제안한다. 사용자가 원격제어를 진행하면 해당 명령을 수집하여 기기, 시간 별로 분류하여 데이터를 정렬한다. 정렬된 데이터를 기반으로 분석을 진행하여 기기들의 시간 별 동작을 도출한다. 분석의 결과를 기반으로 가정 내부의 디바이스를 동작시켜 환경을 제어한다. 이에 따라 사용자에게 맞춤형 서비스를 제공함으로써 디바이스 동작의 정확도와 편의성이 증대될 것으로 사료된다.

  • In this study, remote handling strategies for a large-scale argon cell facility were considered. The suggested strategies were evaluated by several types of field test. The teleoperation tasks were performed using a developed remote handling system, which enabled traveling over entire cell area using a bridge transport system. Each arm of the system had six DOFs (degrees of freedom), and the bridge transport system had four DOFs. However, despite the dexterous manipulators and redundant monitoring system, many operators, including professionals, experienced difficulties in operating the remote handling system. This was because of the lack of a strategy for handling the installed camera system, and the difficulty in recognizing the gripper pose, which might fall outside the FOV (field of vision) of the system during teleoperation. Hence, in this paper, several considerations for the remote handling tasks performed in the target facility were discussed, and the tasks were analyzed based on ergonomic factors such as the workload. Toward the development of a successful operation strategy, several ergonomic issues, such as active/passive view of the remote handling system, eye/hand alignment, and FOV were considered. Furthermore, using the method for classifying remote handling tasks, several unit tasks were defined and evaluated.

원격 정보처리를 이용한 자율주행 트랙터 시스템의 개발 (Development of an Autonomous Tractor System Using Remote Information Processing)

  • An autonomous tractor system was developed and its performance was evaluated. The system consisted of a tractor system of and a remote control station. The tractor and the remote control station communicated each other via wireless modems. The tractor had a DGPS(differential global positioning system), sensors, a controller and a modem. The DGPS collected position data and the tractor status was estimated. The information of tractor status and sensors was transferred to the remote control station. Then, the control station determined the control data such as steering angles using a fuzzy controller. The fuzzy controller used the information from the DGPS, sensors, and GIS(geographic information system) data. The control data were obtained by remote signal processing at the control station The control data for autonomous operation were transferred to the tractor controller. The performances of an autonomous tractor were evaluated for various speeds, different initial positions and different initial headings. About 1.3 seconds of time lag was occurred in transferring the tractor status data and the control data. Compensation the time lag, about 27cm deviation was observed at the speed of 0.5m/s and 37cm at the speed of 1m/s. Error caused mainly by the time lag and it would be reduced by developing a full-duplex radio module for controlling the remote tractor.

Status of Korean Research Activity on Arctic Sea Ice Monitoring using KOMPSAT-series Satellite

  • Arctic warming is a global issue. The sea ice in the Arctic plays a crucial role in the climate system. We thought that a recent abnormality in many countries in the northern hemisphere could be related to the effects of shrinking sea ice in the Arctic. Many research groups monitor sea ice in the Arctic for climate research. Satellite remote sensing is an integral part of Arctic sea ice research due to the Arctic's large size, making it difficult to observe with general research equipment, and its extreme environment that is difficult for humans to access. Along with monitoring recent weather changes, Korea scientists are conducting polar remote sensing using a Korean satellite series to actively cope with environmental changes in the Arctic. The Korean satellite series is known as KOMPSAT (Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite, Korean name is Arirang) series, and it carries optical and imaging radar. Since the organization of the Satellite Remote Sensing and Cryosphere Information Center in Korea in 2016, Korean research on and monitoring of Arctic sea ice has accelerated rapidly. Moreover, a community of researchers studying Arctic sea ice by satellite remote sensing increased in Korea. In this article, we review advances in Korea's remote sensing research for the polar cryosphere over the last several years. In addition to satellite remote sensing, interdisciplinary studies are needed to resolve the current limitations on research on climate change.
