  • A major challenge achieving scalable access control for a large number of subscribers in a public broadcast is to distribute key update messages reliably to all stateless receivers. However, in a public broadcast, the rekeying messages can be dropped or compromised during transmission over an insecure broadcast channel, or transmitted to receivers while they were off-line. In this study, we propose a novel group key management scheme. It features a mechanism to allow legitimate receivers to recover the current group key, even if they lose key update messages for long-term sessions. The scheme uses short hint messages and member computation. Performance analysis shows that the proposed scheme has the advantages of scalability and efficient rekeying compared to previous reliable group key distribution schemes. The proposed key management scheme targets a conditional access system in a media broadcast in which there is no feedback channel from receivers to the broadcasting station.

  • This paper proposes a reliable 2-mode authentication framework for probabilistic key pre-distribution in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) that guarantees the safe defense against different kinds of attacks: Hello flood attacks, Wormhole attacks, Sinkhole attack, location deployment attacks, and Man in the middle attack. The mechanism storing the trust neighbor IDs reduces the dependence on the cluster head and as the result; it saves the power energy for the authentication process as well as provides peer-to-peer communication.

  • Many Internet application provide the PKI(public key infrastructure)-based service to provide authentication and message integrity. Several researchers proposed PKI-based p2p network framework. However, in the real world, the use of PKI is not suitable for peer to peer network, because the peer-to-peer network is an open and dynamic network. Moreover, currently there is no nation-to-nation interoperable certificate. In this paper, we designed reliable p2p file sharing application without public key infrastructure. To do this we propose reliable public key distribution mechanism to distribute public key safely without PKI infrastructure for two-tier super-peer architecture. In our system, each peer generates and distributes its public/private key pairs, and the public key is securely distributed without PKI. The proposed mechanism is safe against MITM attack. This mechanism can be applied various P2P applications such as file sharing, IPTV, distributed resource sharing and so on

  • Secure delivery of multicast data can be achieved with the use of a group key for data encryption in mobile ad hoc network (MANET) applications based on the group communication. However, for the support of dynamic group membership, the group key has to be updated for each member joining/leaving and, consequently, a mechanism distributing an updated group key to members is required. The two major categories of the group key distribution mechanisms proposed for wired networks are the naive and the tree-based approaches. The naive approach is based on unicast, so it is not appropriate for large group communication environment. On the other hand, the tree-based approach is scalable in terms of the group size, but requires the reliable multicast mechanism for the group key distribution. In the sense that the reliable multicast mechanism requires a large amount of computing resources from mobile nodes, the tree-based approach is not desirable for the small-sized MANET environment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new key distribution protocol, called the proxy-based key management protocol (PROMPT), which is based on the naive approach in the small-sized MANET environment. PROMPT reduces the message overhead of the naive through the first-hop grouping from a source node and the last-hop grouping from proxy nodes using the characteristics of a wireless channel.

  • In microarray data mining, one of the key problems is how to handle weak signals. Based on a bent piecewise linear accumulated distribution generally found in the microarray data, a new detectable threshold finding method is proposed to filter genes with unreliable information in this paper. More reliable and reproducible data is produced for the subsequent data mining.

  • Purpose - This study traces the determinants of key account management performance in the garments industry in Bangladesh. The key account management approach involves significant challenges for marketers to manage their strategically important customers and use this approach as a strategic weapon in their selling efforts. This study examines three categories of determinants of key account management performance including operational variables, organizational variables, and relational variables by exploring data from 100% export oriented readymade garments companies in Bangladesh. Research design, data, and methodology - Data were collected from 30 readymade garments manufacturers, considering a company as a unit of analysis. Using the data, instrument validity and reliability and, subsequently, data normality were examined using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software to isolate the important determinants of key account management performance. Results - The instruments are reliable and the data are reasonably normal. Conclusion - The study explored and validated the adapted instruments of various operational, organizational, and relational antecedent factors of key account management performance, most of which were thus far ignored.

  • We propose a new authentication and key distribution protocol which is efficient and reliable for password-based systems. Various guessing attacks have been detected in applying conventional protocols to the password-based systems and additional overheads have been made in refined protocols to defeat those attacks. Using a one-time pad and a strong hash function, our proposed protocol promotes reliability and efficiency. Compared with other protocols, our protocol is secure against various protocol attacks including guessing attacks. In addition, this protocol is efficient in reducing communication and computation costs.

  • In the self-healing group key distribution scheme, users are capable of recovering lost group keys on their own without requesting additional transmission from the group manager, where there is no reliable network infrastructure. In this paper, we propose a new self-healing group key distribution scheme with revocation capability, which is optimal in terms of user memory storage and more efficient in terms of communication complexity than the previous results. We obtain a slightly improved result from (13) and (14) by using the new broadcasting method. In addition, we prove that our scheme has the properties of t-wise forward secrecy and t-wise backward secrecy, and extend this self-healing approach to the session key recovery scheme from a single broadcast message.

  • Advanced CMP conditioner design requires investigations of key conditioner manufacturing parameters and their effects on pad surface and then wafer performance. In the present investigation, diamond shape, concentration, distribution, and other key manufacturing parameters are considered to improve CMP process stability and conditioner life. Self avoiding random distribution ($SARD^{TM}$) of diamond abrasives has been developed and both numerical simulation and experimental results show very stable and reliable polishing performance.
