This study is the second phase of the author's larger attempt to investigate the factors affecting housewives' caregiving behavior to their elderly parents-in-law. Specifically, it revises and expands the previous model (1998) and develops a new one by rectifying the three major problems inherent in the previous study: (1) misspecification error; (2) non-equivalent comparison of results between the father-in-law model and mother-in-law model that stems from the inclusion of heterogeneous group of caregivers; (3) measurement problems for the two endogenous variables of eldercare attitude and behavior. To do this, the current study proposes a more comprehensive model by additionally incorporating other salient exogenous variables, renders the comparison of results between the father-in-law and mother-in-law models equivalent by including only homogeneous group of caregivers (i. e., only those housewives whose parents-in-law are both alive), and introduces standardized measurement scales for the endogenous variables. Estimation of the model in terms of maximum likelihood procedures in LISREL8 attests to a better overall performance over the previous model when judged from several criteria such as coefficient of determination, model fit statistics, proportion of significant causal paths, and measurement properties of reliability and validity for the variables. Interpretation of the findings suggests several salient theoretical implications that concern such crucial issues as the inconsistency between eldercare attitude and behavior, patterns of association among the subdimensions of eldercare, and the difference in the antecedents explaining attitude as opposed to behavior of eldercare. In particular, the finding that indicates almost no differences in the determinants between the father-in-law and mother-in-law models suggests a strong case to argue that caregiving behavior to fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law, respectively, is likely to be a uniform phenomenon sharing virtual1y the same antecedents, and that a unified single model is sufficient to account for caregiving behavior to both parties.
Analytical studies on piles so far have been directed toward prediction of bearing capacity under vertical loads. Various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the ultimate bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the predicted values with the pile load test measurements. Accordingly, by means of the ultimate load from the data measured by the actual field load tests of PHC piles, safety factors were compared and analyzed static and dynamic formula methods applying to 4 different sites. As a result, the safety factor by Meyerhof formula method indicates 3.0 and the safety factor by Hiley formula method indicates 5.0.
This study aims to examine the characteristics of the changes in residents' perception of neighborhood and sense of neighborhood according to the residential structural changes caused by city renewal projects such as old urban large redevelopment. Research findings benefits of the residential environment changes after the development are environment improvement, convenient traffic, leisure activity increase, and green area increase, whereas their drawbacks are encroachment of sunshine and view, However, with the regard to the relationship with neighbors, paired-sample t-test results showed there were no statistically significant differences between before and after the development. It appeared to be that the community residential complex development did not influence the relationship with neighbors. ANOVA was used to examine the differences in the neighborhood perception among age categories. The results showed that there were no differences between age groups but when there were changes in their life cycle, residents showed differences in their neighborhood perception among age groups. The neighborhood perception was measured on 5-point Likert Scale in four factors of intimacy, participation, reliability, and group identity. The perception decreased somewhat after the development and the group identity, especially, showed a significant difference (p<.001). This was considered to be caused by a sense of incongruity due to the influx of different social-economic groups.
Empowerment is a multifaceted concept which can be described somewhat differently. In general, it is defined as the motivational concept of autonomy and self-efficacy. Recently, this concept of empowerment is applied to improve organizational staff's job satisfaction and organizational commitment in many organizations. Empowerment in service organizations has certainly generated more publicity than any other organizations. The objective of this study is to measure the degree of hospital administrative staff's empowerment using Spreitzer(1995)'s empowerment theory, and also to analyze the relationship of empowerment and job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Spreitzer argues that the work empowerment is composed of 4 dimensions (meaning, competence, self-determination, and impact) and each dimension influences employee's job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational performance in the end. In order to carry out this study, data were collected by self-administered Questionnaires from 181 hospital administrative staff at 3 university hospitals in Inchon and Kyunggi-Do. The response rate is 86%. The Collected data were analyzed with SPSS statistical package V10.0. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, the degree of hospital administrative staff's empowerment is a high level point at the 7 Likert Scale. Second, the reliability of 3 variables, empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment, was statistically satisfied(Cronbach's alpha>0.80). Third, as a result of correlation analysis, four components of empowerment, job satisfaction and organizational commitment showed a positive relationship. Finally, multiple regression analysis was conducted to find the impact of empowerment on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In the case of job satisfaction, the meaning and competence factors have a positive effect(P<0.05). And the case of organizational commitment, the meaning and impact components have a positive relation(p<0.05). These results showed that the workplace empowerment is significantly related to employee's job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
This study investigates the differences between the satisfaction factors of store characteristics depending on on-line clothing store type and its satisfaction index. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 10.0 software with various techniques such as paired t-test, T-test, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ reliability and factor analysis that use principal component analysis and Varimax orthogonal rotation were used. The results are summarized as follows: 1. By categorizing the level of on-line store characteristics satisfaction depending on its type, clarifies the differences between its satisfaction. The satisfaction rank of general merchandise store was as followed: searching and approaching system, buying process service, screen-displayed design, product, store credit. On the other hand, the satisfaction rank of general store was as followed: screen-displayed design, store credit, buying process service. 2. By analyzing the difference of satisfaction depending on the store type, it was found that general merchandise store was more satisfied with screen-displayed design, approaching and searching, whole payment process, the safety of payment and shipping service, security service when compared to specialty store. It was also found that specialty store was more satisfied with the variety of product, update of rare items, quality and price of product. 3. By analyzing the difference between the type of on-line clothing store satisfaction depending on age, in the case of general merchandise store, the result showed that people in their thirties were more satisfied with buying process service, store credit, customer management system when compared to twenties. In the case of specialty store, the result showed that people in their twenties were more satisfied with customer management service when compared to thirties, and when it came to buying process service, it was vice versa.
Background: Red ginseng is a popularly used traditional medicine with antiaging effects in Asian countries. The present study aimed to explore the changes in protein expression underlying the mechanisms of life span extension and antiaging caused by red ginseng extract (RGE) in Drosophila melanogaster. Methods: A proteomic approach of two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2-DE) was used to identify the differential abundance of possible target proteins of RGE in D. melanogaster. The reliability of the 2-DE results was confirmed via Western blotting to measure the expression levels of selected proteins. Proteins altered at the expression level after RGE treatment (1 mg/mL) were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry and by searching against the National Center for Biotechnology nonredundant and Uniprot protein databases. The differentially expressed proteins were analyzed using bioinformatics methods. Results: The average survival life span of D. melanogaster was significantly extended by 12.60% with RGE treatment (1 mg/mL) compared to untreated flies. This followed increased superoxide dismutase level and decreased methane dicarboxylic aldehyde content. Based on the searching strategy, 23 differentially expressed proteins were identified (16 up-regulated and 7 down-regulated) in the RGE-treated D. melanogaster. Transduction pathways were identified using the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes database, and included the hippo and oxidative phosphorylation pathways that play important roles in life span extension and antiaging process of D. melanogaster. Conclusion: Treatment with RGE in D. melanogaster demonstrated that mechanisms of life span extension and antiaging are regulated by multiple factors and complicated signal pathways.
This study aims to grope for the factors that can influence consumer when they evaluate sports centers' service multilaterally in order to draw strategic operation methods for sports centers. This article examines the relationship among sports centers' service guarantee, service quality, service value, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. This study selects 2 sports centers located in Seoul and then conducts a survey to 200 members of the sports centers. The data collected go through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis with SPSS 16.0, and also AMOS 18.0 is utilized to perform confirmatory factor analysis and hypothesis verification. According to the study result First, service guarantee affects service quality positively while it does not affect customer loyalty. Second, service quality affects service value positively. Third, service value affects customer satisfaction and customer loyalty positively. Therefore this study has verified the marketing effectiveness of service guarantee in sports centers, so it can be said that the study has drawn practical operation methods.
Along with developments in technology, National Competency Standards(NCS) education is rising as the new paradigm of change in university education. This study has the purpose of empirically investigating the factors on satisfaction of students before and after application of NCS. The SPSS 22.0 statistics program was applied for the frequency analysis, reliability analysis and t-test. The results and implications by analysis are as follows. First, academic environment and after application of NCS have statistically significant positive influence. Second, From general situation attribute, before application of NCS positively(+) influences regret to university life. It allowed for the developed application of NCS. Third, social satisfaction and after application of NCS were shown to the major variable except long for home characteristics. Through these, this paper suggest to reinforce NCS application. So I recommend that future researches should expand variable samples.
Purpose - The objective of this research is to investigate not only the effect of a company creating shared value (CSV) influencing consumers' emotions that lead to prosocial consumer behavior but also the moderating effect of Companies' authenticity in the causal relationship between economic or social value of CSV and either gratitude or pride of consumers. Research design, data, methodology - The 9 hypotheses presenting the relationship among CSV, consumer's emotion and prosocial consumer behavior were proposed and tested in this study. Research data were collected from the surveying of 350 respondents over 20 years and the 340 samples were used to test the proposed hypotheses. SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 were used for statistical analysis such as reliability test, validity test and path analysis. Results - The results show that the economic or social value of corporate CSV activities affects positively consumer's gratitude or pride except for the relationship between social value of CSV and consumer's pride. The results also show that gratitude or pride of consumers affects positively consumers' prosocial behavior. We also found that there is a moderating effect of Companies' authenticity in the causal relationship between economic or social value of CSV and either gratitude or pride of consumers. Conclusions - Company's activities in creating shared value influences consumer emotions and pride, and although these activities induce gratitude, this does not apply to pride. In addition, when these shared value activities influence consumer emotions, the authenticity of the company has shown to have a moderating effect.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of dietary life application according to preferred dietary life education type on quality of life of participants in dietary life education programs and to provide basic data necessary to enhance dietary life education. The results of the analyses conducted to classify the types of preferred dietary life education and types of dietary life application and to verify the validity and reliability of the factors are as follows. In terms of the types of preferred dietary life education, health-oriented type, knowledge-oriented type, and experience-oriented type were derived. In terms of types of dietary life application, proactive application and emotional application were derived. Knowledge-oriented type and experience-oriented type were found to affect proactive application and emotional application in terms of real-life application, and proactive application and emotional application were found to affect quality of life. Therefore, in order to enhance the dietary life education for adults in general, it is necessary to improve accessibility by initiating and promoting various programs along with continuous support from central and local governments. Moreover, in order to increase the real-life application and utilization of such programs, the importance of practical and theoretical education must be recognized, and efforts should be made in training specialized instructors.
