Acupuncture and herbal treatment are based on diagnosis of cold and heat pattern in Traditional Korean Medicine. This diagnosis is accomplished through pulse, tongue and question examination, which are not objective. Quantification and objectification of this diagnosis process are required for efficacious treatment and traditional medicine development. In this study, we developed the cold-heat pattern questionnaire for this purpose. Seventy nine patients who visited oriental medical hospital were included in this study. The cold-heat pattern questionnaire was composed of many questions about patient's physical condition, which were derived from The Traditional Oriental Medical Literature with Delphi Technique. Patients filled out the cold-heat pattern questionnaire by themselves. Diagnosis of cold and heat pattern are conducted separately by oriental medical doctors with more than 5 years' clinical experience. Various physical condition factors were derived for the cold-heat pattern questionnaire. (Preference temperature, Body temperature, Pain type, Face color, Urine, Stool and secretion features) Each cold and heat symptoms group acquired internal consistency. (Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ : Cold - 0.605, Heat - 0.722) There were significant associations between doctor's diagnosis and cold symptoms in 'Aversion to cold', 'Desire for heat', 'Pale face', 'Loose stools'. (p-value < 0.05) There were significant associations between doctor's diagnosis and heat symptoms in 'Desire for cold', 'Body feverishness', 'Thirst'. (p-value < 0.05) The internal consistency results suggest that the cold-heat pattern questionnaire assured reliability. Besides, these results showed that cold-heat symptoms are apt to appear together with, and this can be indirect evidence that diagnosis of cold-heat pattern is valuable for comprehension about disease pattern. Moreover, respective symptoms of cold-heat pattern showed different significance with doctor's diagnosis. Consequently these significant symptoms can be more considered for comprehension of cold-heat pattern.

When we research a landscape or make a Landscape Impact Assessment, we use the image of a specific season like summer or fall. Since there are four distinct seasons, each with a different landscape, researchers need to understand viewers′visual preferences for individual seasonal landscapes. The purpose of this study is to investigate viewers′visual preferences according to seasonal change and the respondent′s age, gender and profession. In this research, the independent variable is season: suing, summer, fall, winter and snowy winter. Three landscape types used in the experiment: forest, street and agriculture. Each landscape type has two sites for reliability. The assessment media for this research are pictures featuring landscapes taken in each of the four seasons. The study used the "paired comparison" method for taking the score of visual preference. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The summer landscape has the highest visual preference score. However, spring and fall landscapes should also be considered for visual landscape evaluation. 2. The visual preference of winter landscape covered with snow is very high, but since snow is temporal and irregular, it is difficult to consider this factor for visual landscape evaluation. 3. The visual preference score of winter is the lowest of four seasons. The attractive factors of spring are flowers, summer is greenery and fall is autumnal tints. But these are not present in winter. 4. The result of visual preferences according to age groups, gender and profession have no serious differences. 5. Visual preference to scenery of 4 seasons by age group was not different from general preference and thus was concluded to have no connection with age. 6. As a result from the research of visual preference to scenery of 4 seasons by sex, women were shown to like snow-scene more than men. This study presents an indication of general preferences of seasonal landscapes. It is expected that more advanced study will proceed after this one.

Local fairs are often part of the economic development strategy of rural areas. This study aims to find out marketing strategies for promoting the sales of regional specialty products through local festivals in rural Korea. The data were collected in late 2003 (from a sample of interviews and surveys from 351 visitors. The data were analyzed using the SPSS computer program. The results were as follows; First, the factors that visitors were considered in purchasing were quality (49.5%), commemorative value (36.9%), and reliability (33.0%). And the top reasons cited for not buying were lack of distinction (45.1%) and high prices (26.6%). The discount rates expected in markets was 16.8%. Second, 49.8% of visitors has spent over 10,000 won and their purchase pattern has been for themselves and their family. Third, the public organizations for certi(ication for visitors were the National Agricultural Cooperative Fedration (37.9%) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) (22.5%). In conclusion, it was important for local stakeholders to provide more locally-manufactured, seasonal and traditional food, and to plan more locally characteristic events for their fairs. Further recommendations have included having a guide showing pricing and quality standards for products bought at rural fairs, developing product ideas for inducing impulse purchases, active promotion and marketing at event sites, and setting a standard system of warranties on products under the certification of the local authorities and with the financial support of the MAF Such recommendations were aimed at increasing the sale of traditional and regional specialty products at local festivals.
Purpose: We evaluated the psychometric properties of a questionnaire on the acceptance of the quality improvement information system (QIIS) among long-term care workers (mostly nurses). Methods: The questionnaire composes of 21 preliminary questions with 5 domains based on the Technology Acceptance Model and related literature reviews. We developed a prototype web-based comprehensive resident assessment system, and collected data from 126 subjects at 75 long-term care facilities and hospitals, who used the system and responded to the questionnaire. A priori factor structure was developed using an exploratory factor analysis and validated by a confirmatory factor analysis; its reliability was also evaluated. Results: A total of 16 items were yielded, and 5 factors were extracted from the explanatory factor analysis: Usage Intention, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Social Influence, and Innovative Characteristics. The five-factor structure model had a good fit (Tucker-Lewis index [TLI]=.976; comparative fit index [CFI]=.969; standardized root mean squared residual [SRMR]=.052; root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA]=.048), and the items were internally consistent(Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.91$). Conclusion: The questionnaire was valid and reliable to measure the technology acceptance of QIIS among long-term care workers, using the prototype.
The purpose of this study was to examine the change of wellness health awareness among 168 university students od D city participating in sports physical fitness class. The results showed that the wellness health awareness of university students did not show statistically significant interaction effect between gender and class(before and after class), but differences between gender and enforcement factors were significant in some sub - area). Based on these results, it is necessary to provide intensive health management class to university students for the solution of positive change of well-being health awareness besides various physical education class by each university.
The study of job satisfaction among female dentists is essential to improve the quality of their life. In this study, a job satisfaction survey of female dentists in Gwangju was performed and the factors affecting job satisfaction were examined. A survey of female dentists in Gwangju was conducted using a custom-designed and validated questionnaire which incorporated the Korean Dentist satisfaction Survey (KDSS) as well as questions regarding socio-demographics and professional characteristics. Satisfaction for each question was measured by a 5-point Likert scale. The final analysis was performed with 89 questionnaires, after excluding 3 non-response questionnaires. Analysis of the data for each group was carried out using a Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test. The reliability of the questionnaire was identified by the internal consistency of the survey using Cronbach coefficient. The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 19, SPSS Inc, Chicago, Ill, USA). The level of statistical significance was set at p = 0.05. On analyzing with use of the above mentioned method, the following findings were observed: Income, leisure time, time for self-development, and overall job satisfaction were lower than the average, especially the percentage of dissatisfaction was much higher than that of satisfaction. Satisfaction was associated with age, duration of employment, and the number of assistants. The limitations of this study are the lack of an adequate sample size, convenience sampling during extraction, the lack of questionnaire items, the limitations of quantitative research, and failure to perform measurement in the non-response group. However, female dentists can be expected to achieve a more satisfactory and enhanced working environment if the research based on the current study is followed up in an expanded target group.
