A Study of Corporate CSR Effects on Corporate Crisis Management

  • Purpose: In modern corporate management, the establishment of a crisis management system that minimizes damage through measures used to respond to corporate crises is no longer an option. The importance of corporate reputation and brand asset management in modern enterprise management cannot be overemphasized and negative events that might arise from a number of different causes can cause brand crises. Research design, data and methodology: More than half of the questionnaire respondents were female (252 or 53%). More than a fourth of the respondents were aged 20 (122 or 26%) and the number of married participants was 196 (41%). Of the participants, 32% (153) had graduated from college. Only 18% (87) were employees and the monthly household income was 121. In this study, we conducted factor analysis in order to extract the variables that may enhance the explanation capability of each variable. For the method of factor extraction, an Eigen value of at least 1 was used as was factor loading. An analysis was performed using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient to verify the reliability of the measurement scale. Results: First, the analysis of the impact of the social responsibility activities on brand image revealed that the social, economic, philanthropic, ethical, and environmental responsibility activities significantly affected brand image, but legal responsibility activities were not statistically significant. Second, the analysis of the impact of brand image on loyalty showed that brand image had a significant impact on loyalty. Third, the analysis of the impact of social responsibility activities on loyalty showed that they had a significant impact on loyalty. Conclusions: The pro-social enterprise image is not only a brand asset that can be shared, but also a heavy proposition followed by a corresponding social responsibility, it will have to practice transparent corporate management based on clear principles through the establishment of various systems and the implementation of a strict code of conduct within the enterprise.

  • 최근, 양자컴퓨터를 활용하기 위한 연구개발이 다양한 분야에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 양자컴퓨터는 양자 얽힘, 양자중첩과 같은 다양한 양자역학의 현상과 특성을 활용하여 연산을 수행하기 때문에 기존 컴퓨팅 환경에 비해 아주 복잡한 연산과정을 거치게 된다. 이러한 양자컴퓨터를 구동하기 위해서는 연산에 활용되는 양자게이트의 구성뿐만 아니라 큐비트의 종류, 배치, 연결성 등 물리적인 양자컴퓨터의 요소를 반영한 알고리즘이 구성되어야 한다. 따라서 양자컴퓨터 구성요소들의 상호간 영향을 포함한 구성 정보를 직관적으로 파악할 수 있는 회로 시각화가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 양자컴퓨터를 구성하는 양자칩 정보와 양자컴퓨팅 회로 데이터를 3D로 시각화하여 직관적으로 데이터를 관측하고 활용할 수 있도록 시각화 하여 직관적인 정보를 분석할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

  • 오늘날 우리는 인터넷을 통하여 웹사이트에서 다양한 활동과 많은 정보를 얻고 있다. 이러한 웹사이트들은 개인 또는 웹사이트 전문업체에 의해 유지보수되며, 기본적인 방법은 운영되고 있는 웹사이트를 구성하고 있는 파일들을 변경하는 것이다. 이 과정에서 전체 파일을 변경하는 것은 시간이 오래 걸리고, 변경하지 않아도 되는 파일들까지 변경하므로 효율성이 많이 떨어진다. 반대로 변경해야 하는 파일들만 변경하게 될 경우, 사람이 직접 각 경로를 탐색하여 파일들을 확인하고 하나씩 파일을 변경해야 하므로 손이 많이 간다. 이를 해결하고자 자동 배포 시스템들이 개발되었으나, 추가적인 자원과 학습이 필요하며 비용과 시간, 노동력이 추가로 발생한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존 웹사이트의 자원과 기술을 사용하여, 자원 소모를 최소화하고, 새로운 기술의 학습이 필요 없는 자동 업데이트 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통해 사람의 작업 대비 신뢰성과 시간을 향상하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

웨지 와이어를 이용한 선박용 필터 스크린 제작을 위한 최적 지지 위치 및 안정성 판단 (Determination of Optimal Support Position and Stability for Manufacturing Filter Screen for Ships Using Wedge Wires)

  • In this study, the optimal support position determination and stability determination of the wedge wire screen were performed for the production of the wedge wire filter screen with improved mesh screen. In order to manufacture a filter screen using a wedge wire, the support rod wedge wire is first installed according to the filtering capacity, and then spot welding is performed while rotating the profile wire. In the existing manufacturing method, it was manufactured using a 3m rod wedge wire and then cut according to dimensions, but it required the manufacture of a 6m cylindrical screen. Due to the increase in wedge wire length, it is difficult to manufacture stress concentration at sagging and fixed positions. In order to shorten the time of analysis, a single wedge wire was applied instead of a plurality of wedge wires. The reliability and validity of the interpretation were presented and the results were derived. After selecting the support point at the 2m position, structural analysis was performed on the entire filter screen to confirm stability.The purpose of this study is to identify the maximum deflection of the wire for the production of a 6m wedge wire screen and secure design basic data so that it can work safely through optimal support.

프랜차이즈 베이커리 전문점의 브랜드 풍문이 브랜드 태도와 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Brand Hearsay of Franchised Bakery Stores on Brand Attitude and Brand Loyalty)

  • Purpose: Brand hearsay refers to information that can be acquired from advertisement, media publicity, and word-of-mouth prior to experiencing products or services of brands. Previous information about brands obtained through brand hearsay affects consumer behavior in choosing brands. Moreover, brand hearsay is an effective communication method in promoting brands to consumers. Thus, bakery franchises need to improve strengths and differentiate characteristics of their brand, thereby attracting more consumers. Therefore, this study investigates relationships the effect of brand hearsay on consumers' brand attitude and brand loyalty in the context of franchised bakery brands. Research design, data, and methodology: A research model was proposed to examine structural relationships between brand hearsay (advertising, publicity, word-of-mouth), brand attitude, and brand loyalty. An online survey was conducted to consumers who had an experience of visiting a franchise bakery. A total of 513 responses were used for data analysis. SPSS 22.0 was used for analyzing general demographics, and SmartPLS 4.0 was used to test validity and reliability of the proposed model. Result: Among attributes of brand hearsay, advertisement and word-of-mouth had positively significant effects on brand attitude, but no significant effect was found between publicity and attitude. Advertisement had a positively significant impact on brand loyalty, while publicity had a negative effect on brand loyalty opposite to hypothesis. Moreover, brand attitude had a statistically significant effect on brand loyalty. Conclusions: In the context of franchise bakeries, brand hearsay contents may change consumers' attitude toward brands but does not increase brand loyalty. Though media publicity does not affect consumers' attitude toward brands, it may decrease brand loyalty when consumers are too exposed to it. In addition, it is necessary to enhance brand attitude to increase brand loyalty of customers. This study provides bakery franchisors and franchisees information about which type of brand hearsay (e.g., advertisement, word-of-mouth, media, publicity) is effective in enhancing brand attitudes and loyalty of consumers. Further studies may include other variables (e.g., trust) in addition to attitude and loyalty, or compare findings based on brand characteristics (e.g., low-to-medium/high prices, store size).

외식기업의 기능적 일치성이 정보탐색비용의 절감과 긍정적 감정, 부정적 감정 그리고 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Functional Congruence on the Information Search Cost Reduction, Positive Emotions, Negative Emotions, and Loyalty in Restaurant)

  • Purpose: Consumers' experience of functional attributes is remembered, and the experience lowers the cost of consumers' input from their point of view and reduces uncertainty. It also plays an important role in consumers' positive emotions and responses. Accordingly, if information search costs are reduced in terms of the costs perceived by consumers about restaurants, a strategy differentiated from other companies can be established. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of functional congruence of restaurant stores on information search cost reduction, positive/negative emotions, and loyalty. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: This study investigated functional congruence, information search cost reduction, and positive/negative emotions. The structural relationship between loyalty was analyzed. To verify this, a research hypothesis was established based on previous studies and a research model was constructed. The questionnaire items were modified and used according to the current study, based on previous studies. The data were collected using the questionnaire method from 187 people who had dining out experience. Frequency analysis was performed to confirm demographic characteristics. Reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the collected data were verified. The research model was analyzed with a structural equation modeling (SmartPLS 4). Results: The findings show that functional congruence had significant positive effects on information search cost reduction and positive emotion, but no significant effect on negative emotion. Information search cost reduction had significant positive effects on positive emotion/negative emotion but did not significantly affect loyalty. Lastly, both positive and negative emotions had significant positive effects on loyalty. Conclusion: Based on transaction cost theory, this study found how functional congruence and information search cost reduction influence consumers' emotions. The functional attributes of restaurants were perceived by customers as information, thus uncertainty was decreased. Finally, appropriate management strategies and implications of functional congruence and information search cost in the restaurant were suggested.

Thickness evaluation of Cr coating fuel rod using encircling ECT sensor

  • To improve the safety and life extension qualities of nuclear fuel rods which is currently made of zirconium (Zr) alloy, research on the application of chromium (Cr) coating was conducted. Cr coating has advantages such as increased corrosion resistance and reduced oxidation rate, but non-destructive thickness evaluation studies are needed to ensure the reliability of the steps taken to provide uniform coating thickness. Eddy current testing (ECT) is a representative non-destructive technique for such as thickness evaluation and surface defect inspection. To inspect changes in thickness at micron scale, the Swept Frequency Eddy Current Testing (SFECT) method was applied to select a frequency range sensitive to changes in thickness. The coating thickness was evaluated using changes in signals, such as that for impedance. In this study, basic research was performed to evaluate the thickness of the Cr coating on a rod using an encircling sensor and the SFECT technique. The sensor design parameters were determined through simulation, after which the new sensor was manufactured. A sensor capable of measuring the thickness of a non-uniformly Cr-coating rod was selected through an experiment evaluating the performance of the manufactured sensor. This was done using the impedance-difference of a Cr-coating rod and a Zr alloy rod. The possibility of evaluation of the Cr coating thickness was confirmed by comparing the experimental results with the selected sensor and the signals of the measured Cr-coating rod. All simulation results were verified experimentally.

MNC Subsidiary's Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Transfer: Evidence from MNC Subsidiaries in South Korea

  • Purpose - This paper attempted to verify the process by which a multinational corporation (MNC)'s subsidiary practices entrepreneurship to create effective knowledge (KC) in the local market. We have looked at whether subsidiary entrepreneurship (SENT) has a moderation effect in creating knowledge for the local market when a subsidiary has been given autonomy (AUT) from the headquarters (HQ). We also argue that when a subsidiary creates meaningful knowledge, the effect of the increased status by the HQ within the MNC network position (NP) has an indirect effect on whether knowledge is transferred to other overseas subsidiaries (KTO). Design/methodology - This paper used a structural equation model (SEM) of 282 effective foreign companies invested in Korea. To test the hypothesis about the process of SENT on KTO, descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability, convergent and discriminant validities, and common method bias were analyzed using STATA. In addition, the moderation effect was verified along with SEM. The moderation effect of AUT on SENT and KC was presented graphically by confirming \mathrm{\pm1} standard deviation of AUT for the main effect. Findings - Our findings are as follows. First, while the hypothesis about the direct effect of SENT and KC on KTO was not supported, all other hypotheses were supported. Second, both the AUT and moderating effect and the indirect effect of NP were significant. In the conclusion, these findings are discussed in relation to its various theoretical and practical implications. Originality/value - This study attempted to contribute to the knowledge creation theory of MNC by contemplating how subsidiaries can move away from HQ and grow in the local market. Although there is still a shortage of foreign investment in the Korean market, our practical implications offer guidance for how current subsidiaries can develop more than other overseas subsidiaries.

A Systems Engineering Approach for Predicting NPP Response under Steam Generator Tube Rupture Conditions using Machine Learning

  • Accidents prevention and mitigation is the highest priority of nuclear power plant (NPP) operation, particularly in the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi accident, which has reignited public anxieties and skepticism regarding nuclear energy usage. To deal with accident scenarios more effectively, operators must have ample and precise information about key safety parameters as well as their future trajectories. This work investigates the potential of machine learning in forecasting NPP response in real-time to provide an additional validation method and help reduce human error, especially in accident situations where operators are under a lot of stress. First, a base-case SGTR simulation is carried out by the best-estimate code RELAP5/MOD3.4 to confirm the validity of the model against results reported in the APR1400 Design Control Document (DCD). Then, uncertainty quantification is performed by coupling RELAP5/MOD3.4 and the statistical tool DAKOTA to generate a large enough dataset for the construction and training of neural-based machine learning (ML) models, namely LSTM, GRU, and hybrid CNN-LSTM. Finally, the accuracy and reliability of these models in forecasting system response are tested by their performance on fresh data. To facilitate and oversee the process of developing the ML models, a Systems Engineering (SE) methodology is used to ensure that the work is consistently in line with the originating mission statement and that the findings obtained at each subsequent phase are valid.

  • 디지털 방사선 검사장 치는 인간의 생명을 다루는 의료장치로 안정성과 고신뢰성이 필요하지만 이러한 시스템은 현재 최첨단 기술로 일본을 비롯한 유럽제품에 의해서 국내시장은 거의 점유된 실정이다. 따라서 상당한 부분 값비싼 수입품에 의존하고 있는 의료기기의 국산품 대체는 물론, 보다 경제적이고 조작하기 쉬운 사용자 위주의 제품을 개발, 정확한 진단을 이끄는 장치의 생산을 위한 연구와 개발이 필요하다. 특별히 디지털 X-ray 시스템 중에서 전동기 구동기술과 기계장치 개발 관련 메카트로닉스 기술은 국내에 어느 정도 성숙되어 있는 단계로 본 논문에서는 디지털 방사선 검사 장치(DR)의 전동기 서보 시스템 설계를 통하여 제어기법과 성능을 확인하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 촬영용도에 부합하는 디지털 방사선 검사용 AC 서보전동기의 선정과 변환장치 및 제어기법을 적용하여 성능을 확인하고 문제점을 개선함에 있다.
