The Ecological Variables on Adolescent's Popularity (청소년의 사회측정적 인기도에 영향을 미치는 생태학적 변인)

  • The Purpose of this study was to investigate the ecological variables on adolescent's sociometric popularity. Independent variables were organism(sex, age, aggression, self-esteem, impulsiveness, prosocial behavior, dominance), microsystem(parenting style, family support, friends relationship, teacher support), mesosystem(family-peer relationship, family-school relationship), and exosystem(positive community environment, social support of extended family, school's policy). The subjects were 835 - 1st and 2nd graders of two middle and two high schools in Daegu. Adolescent's sociometric popularity and ecological variables were measured with questionnaire. Adolescent's sociometric popularity was measured with sociometric popularity questionnaire. Organism variables were measured with sex, age, aggression, self-esteem, impulsiveness, prosocial behavior and dominance questionnaire. Microsystem variables were measured with parenting style, family support, friends relationship and teacher support questionnaire. Mesosystem variables were measured with family-peer relationship and family-school relationship questionnaire. Exosystem variables were measured with positive community environment, social support of extended family and school's policy questionnaire. The data analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, cronbach's $\alpha$, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: First, adolescent's sociometric popularity was affected by age, overt aggression, academic self-esteem, social self-esteem, and impulsiveness of organism variables. Second, adolescent's sociometric popularity was affected by mother's affectional parenting, mother's control parenting, and attachment to friends of microsystem variables. Third, adolescent's sociometric popularity was affected by family - peer relationship and family - school relationship of mesosystem variables. Fourth, adolescent's sociometric popularity was affected by appraisal support of extended family, after-school activity, and circle activity of exosystem variables.

A Structural Analysis of School-Aged Children's Peer Relationship and Its Related Variables (학령기 아동의 또래관계 관련변인들 간의 관계 구조분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships among the related variables of peer relationship. 547 schoolage children's social support, self-esteem, empathy and peer relationship. Subjects of this study were 547 elementary school students residing in Daegu-Si completed questionnaires assessing peer relationship, social support, self-esteem, empathy. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analyzed using AMOS 20.0, and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follow. First, children's social support was found to hadn't direct effect on peer relationship. Second, children's self-esteem, empathy have a direct effect on peer relationship. Third, children's social support have a direct effect on self-esteem, empathy. and children's self-esteem have a direct effect on empathy.

Interpersonal support, Tension in life changes & Life satisfaction in Urban Housewives (도시주부의 대인적 지지, 생활긴장감 및 만족도)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate interpersonal support, tension in lifechanges & satisfaction. The selected sample is composed of 387 housewives in ChongJoo city. SAS pc program was used for the statistical analysis of the data. Data was analyzed by frequency, F-test, percentage, mean, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Regression Analysis. Major findings as follows: 1)At wedding & funeral ceremony, kin networks of her parents & parents-in law side were variables to have influence on tension in life changes. And the number of social organization participated were a variable to have influence on the satisfaction. The age of couple, education of couple, duration of marriage, income, family lifecycle, the number of children, pattern of family were variables to influence tension in life changes, but were not variables to influence on the satisfaction. 2) At usual or wedding & funeral ceremony, kin networks of her parents side were variables to influence on instrumental & companionship support. And the number of friends was a variable to influence on companionship & informational support. The number of neighbors was a variable to influence on instrumental, companionship & informational support. The number of social organization participated was a variable to influence on companionship & emotional support. The age of couple, education of couple,income, duration of marriage, family life cycle, number of children, family size, family type were variables to influence on interpersonal support. 3)The relationship between tension and satisfaction in life changes was negative, and between instrumental support and satisfaction was negative also. But between companionship support and satisfaction was positive relationship and between tension of personal &social life and instrumental support was positive relationship. The relationship between tension of marriage life and companionship support was negative and between tension of family life and information support was negative relationships. The received companionship support was lower tension in life changes than not received it. But the received instrumental support was higher tension of personal & social life. The received companionship & informational support was higher satisfaction than not received them. But the received instrumental support was lower satisfaction than not received it. 4) Instrumental & companionship support, at usual kin network of her parents in taw side, at wedding & funeral ceremony kin network of her parents side,were variables to influence on tension in life changes. Effects of Ethical Leadership on Perceived Organizational Support and Organizational Commitment of Nurses in a Hospital - Mediating Role of Perceived Organizational Support - (일개 대학병원 간호사의 윤리적 리더십이 조직후원인식과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 - 조직후원인식의 매개효과 검증 -)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the relationship of ethical leadership to perceived organizational support and organizational commitment, and explored the mediating role of perceived organizational support in ethical leadership and organizational commitment of nurse. Method: Data were collected from 256 nurses in one city. Data from the completed questionnaires was analyzed with the SPSSWIN and AMOS programs. Result: Ethical leadership related positively to perceived organizational support and organizational commitment. There was also a positive relationship between perceived organizational support and organizational commitment. It was found that perceived organizational support showed a partial mediating role between relationship of ethical leadership and organizational commitment. Conclusion: The results suggest that positive effects in developing organizational commitment in nurses occur when nurse administrators are concerned about ethical leadership and perceived organizational support.

The Impact of Social Support and Stress on Smoking among Students of Several Boy's High Schools in Daejeon, Korea (일부 남자 고등학생들의 스트레스, 사회적 지지, 환경적 특성과 흡연과의 관계)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of psycho-social factors on smoking especially the impact of a social support and stress on smoking among boy's high school students. Methods: This study was conducted by administering a questionnaire to 442 boys' high school students living in Deajeon, Korea. This data were analyzed with the SPSS statistical package using t-test and logistic regression. Major findings of this study are as follows: Results: 1. Analysis of the relationship of smoking, stress and social support: The relationship between stress and smoking and between friend's support and smoking had a positive correlation. But the relationship between parents' support and smoking and between teacher's support and smoking had a negative correlation. 2. Multiple logistic analysis of the impact of stress, social support and general characteristics on smoking: The relationship between stress and smoking had a positive correlation as social support and general characteristics were controlled. In contrast, the relationship between social support -parents', friend's, teacher's support- and smoking had no significant correlations as stress and general characteristics were controlled. The risk factors of smoking of boy's high school students were smoking friends, drinking, a type of school, pocket money per month, and stress. And the most powerful predictor of smoking was smoking friends(OR=12.35). Conclusions: The results showed that the variables affecting mainly on smoking were the personal background -smoking friends, drinking, a type of school, pocket money per month- and stress. Therefore, these findings give useful information for constructing a program against smoking or educating about smoking.

The Effects of Government R&D Support on Private R&D Investment: Evidence from Innovative Growth Engine Policies (정부 R&D 지원이 민간 R&D 투자에 미치는 영향: 혁신성장동력 정책을 중심으로)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was verifying the policy effects by field of innovative growth engines, focusing on the discussion of the relationship between government support and corporate R&D activities (substitute/complementary goods), and based on the results, policy recommendations for promoting private R&D were carried out. Design/methodology/approach - Through literature research, academic/theoretical discussions about relationship between government support and corporate R&D activities were synthesized. Next, survey data were collected for companies engaged in the field of innovative growth engines and empirical analysis was conducted on the relationship between government support and R&D activities in 13 major sectors. Findings - First, as a result of analyzing all companies regardless of sector, government R&D subsidies had a positive (+) relationship with R&D activities of companies engaged in innovative growth engines, that is, a complementary relationship. Next, as a result of performing empirical analysis by dividing the 13 fields, it was found that 9 fields were complementary goods in which government support had a positive (+) effect on the R&D activities of companies. On the other hand, in the remaining four fields, the effect of government support on corporate R&D activities was not statistically significant. Research implications or Originality - In order to promote R&D activities of companies in the 9 fields where government support acts as a complementary product, it is necessary to establish policies centered on direct government support. On the other hand, it would be more desirable to seek indirect support rather than direct support in the 4 fields where government support did not have a statistically significant effect on corporate R&D activities.

The Influence of Service Training, Organizational Support, and Arbitration Support Among Large Superstore Workers' Work Performance and Emotional Labor (대형마트 종사자에 대한 서비스교육, 조직지지 및 중재지원이 감정노동 업무성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of service training and arbitration support on superstore workers' work performance. The conclusion could be summarized as follows. First, as a result of Hypothesis 1 that service training and arbitration support for superstore workers would significantly affect the factor of workers' emotional labor, when surface acting of emotion and frequency of expressing emotions were the dependent variable, only arbitration support was positively correlated. When emotional diversity was the dependent variable, there was a significantly positive relationship with service training. Second, for Hypothesis 2 that service training and arbitration support for superstore workers would significantly influence the workers' job satisfaction, it was found that only organizational support was significantly positive when wage satisfaction was the dependent variable. When job satisfaction was the dependent variable, service training and arbitration support were significantly correlated positively. Third, for Hypothesis 3 that service training and arbitration support for superstore workers would significantly affect the service delivery level when service responsiveness was the dependent variable, service training and arbitration support were significantly positive. When service expertise was the dependent variable, there was also a significantly positive relationship with service training and arbitration. On the other hand, all the three independent variables-service training, organizational support, and arbitration support-showed a significantly positive relationship when the willingness and effort of service was the dependent variable.

The Influence of Work-Life Balance(WLB) Support Systerm on Employee Engagement - Focused on Moderating Effect of Perceived Organizational Support - (일과 삶의 균형(WLB) 지원제도가 종업원 인게이지먼트에 미치는 영향 - 조직지원인식 조절효과를 중심으로 -)

  • The objective of this study is to understand the influence of Work-Life Balance (WLB) support system on employee engagement (organizational commitment and job commitment) and to examine the moderating effect of perceived organizational support (instrumental and emotional) on the relationship between WLB and employee engagement. To test the research model and hypotheses, this study analyzed 537 responses from employees of sample companies that were carrying out the WLB support system during the period of December 1 through 31, 2014, and the results of the analysis are as follows: First, the correlation between employee engagement (organizational commitment) and the WLB support system showed that the influence of WLB support system on employee engagement(organizational commitment) was greater in the order of growth, job, and family support system. Second, the correlation between WLB support system and employee engagement(job involvement) showed that growth and job support system had significant relationship. Third, in the relationship between WLB support system and employe engagement(organizational commitment), there was no moderating effect of perceived organizational support. Fourth, in the relationship between the WLB support system and employee engagement(the job involvement), both institutional and emotional supports factors of the perceived organizational support had moderating effects in the relationship between growth support system and employee engagement(job involvement). This study has academic significance in that it is an empirical study examining the relationship between the WLB support system and employee engagement, which has not actively investigaged in Korea.

Effects of Social Support and Emotional Intelligence in the Relationship between Emotional Labor and Burnout among Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 감정노동과 소진의 관계에서 사회적지지와 감성지능의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of social support and emotional intelligence in the relationship between emotional labor and burnout among clinical nurses. Methods: The sample for this study consisted of 382 nurses from four hospitals located in Seoul or Gyunggi Province. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, Pearson Correlation, Hierarchical Multiple Regression, and Path Analysis. Results: It was found that: (a) emotional labor had a positive effect on burnout, while social support and emotional intelligence had negative effects on burnout; (b) social support and emotional intelligence moderated the relationship between emotional labor and burnout, and (c) social support mediated the relationship between emotional labor and burnout, whereas emotional intelligence did not. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that high levels of support had a buffering effect and mitigated the negative effects of the emotional labor on burnout. Therefore, strategies to enhance social support for nurses are needed and further research needs to be done to refine this study.

Exploring Interaction between Interactive Services and Presenteeism of Korean Service Workers: The Moderating Effects of Supervisor Support (서비스직 근로자의 고객응대업무와 프리젠티즘: 상사 지지의 조절효과)

  • Purpose: This study delves into the relationship between interactive services and presenteeism among Korean service workers, aiming to discern the moderating effects of supervisor support on the relationship. Methods: Utilizing secondary data from the sixth Korean Working Conditions Survey, involving 7,628 service workers, this study conducted logistic moderated regression analysis to scrutinize the moderating effects of supervisor support on the relationship between interactive services and presenteeism. Results: Approximately 10% of workers experienced presenteeism in the previous 12 months. Females, low-educated, elderly, those working long hours, and low-wage workers were more likely to perceive presenteeism. Notably, a statistically significant U-shaped curvilinear relationship was observed between interactive service duration and presenteeism. The results also underscore the moderating role of supervisory support in shaping the relationship between interactive services and presenteeism. Conclusion: The study highlights the significance of supervisor interest and support in promoting workers' health, thereby not only improving the wellbeing of individual workers but also fostering organizational productivity by reducing presenteeism.
