  • Star clusters are superb astrophysical laboratories containing cospatial and coeval samples of stars with similar chemical composition. We initiate the Sejong Open cluster Survey (SOS) - a project dedicated to providing homogeneous photometry of a large number of open clusters in the SAAO Johnson-Cousins' UBV I system. To achieve our main goal, we pay much attention to the observation of standard stars in order to reproduce the SAAO standard system. Many of our targets are relatively small sparse clusters that escaped previous observations. As clusters are considered building blocks of the Galactic disk, their physical properties such as the initial mass function, the pattern of mass segregation, etc. give valuable information on the formation and evolution of the Galactic disk. The spatial distribution of young open clusters will be used to revise the local spiral arm structure of the Galaxy. In addition, the homogeneous data can also be used to test stellar evolutionary theory, especially concerning rare massive stars. In this paper we present the target selection criteria, the observational strategy for accurate photometry, and the adopted calibrations for data analysis such as color-color relations, zero-age main sequence relations, Sp - MV relations, Sp - $T_{eff}$ relations, Sp - color relations, and $T_{eff}$ - BC relations. Finally we provide some data analysis such as the determination of the reddening law, the membership selection criteria, and distance determination.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate burnout, interpersonal relations, professional self-concept and depression in clinical nurses and to examine the relationship between these variables and depression. Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire form 150 nurses in 8 nursing units of A general hospital by convenient sampling methods form December 10, 2012 to January 30, 2013. Burnout was negatively related to interpersonal relations and professional self-concept and was positively related to depression. Interpersonal relations were positively related professional self-concept and were negatively related to depression. Professional self-concept was negatively related to depression. Among these main variables and variables which showed significant differences in depression (age, marital status, career length, working part), only burnout accounted for 43% of the nurse's depression. Therefore, for controlling depression and improving mental health, it is necessary to develop nursing intervention to reduce burnout at the working environment.

Results : The results of this study are as follows: First, in the pretest of HTP, the subject showed a little lethargy, painting very simple house-shaped figures and too simple rectangular figures corresponding to those painted by 4 or 5-year-old children. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of a positive psychotherapy program on positive affect, interpersonal relations, resilience, and mental health recovery in community-dwelling people with schizophrenia. Methods: The research was conducted using a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 57 adults with schizophrenia participated in this study. The study participants in experimental group received a positive psychotherapy program (n=28) and the participants in control group received only the usual treatment in community centers (n=29). The positive psychotherapy program was provided for 5 weeks (of 10 sessions, held twice/week, for 60 minutes). The study outcomes included positive affect, interpersonal relations, resilience, and mental health recovery. The collected data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA for examining study hypothesis. Results: Results showed that interpersonal relations (F=11.83, p=.001) and resilience (F=9.62, p=.003) significantly increased in the experimental group compared to the control group. Although experimental group showed a slight increase in positive affect, it was not significant. Conclusion: The study findings confirm that the positive psychotherapy program is effective for improving interpersonal relations and resilience of community-dwelling people with schizophrenia. Based on the findings, we believe that the positive psychotherapy program would be acceptable and helpful to improve recovery of mental health in schizophrenia.

  • It seems most important for a manufacturing company to be well aware of its relationship with suppliers. This is why it is essential to analyze and control the structural relationship among CEO's characteristics, relations between suppliers and manufacturers and new product development performances affected by such relations. The present study may be summed up as follows: First, from the analysis of characteristics of manufacturing company's CEO and relations between suppliers and manufacturers, it could be verified that CEO's characteristics exercised influence upon sharing of product development process and upon cooperation for technical manpower, but not upon sharing of core technologies, signifying the fact that nothing could be more important than the role of CEO who has strong will to improve his or her relations with suppliers; and Second, from the analysis of relations between suppliers and manufacturers as well as relations between management and new product development performances, it became evident that both management performance and product development performance were affected by sharing of product development process. It was also known that cooperation for technical development process had influence upon the product development performance but not upon the management performance. Furthermore, the analysis showed that both management performance as well as product development performance were affected by sharing of core technologies.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the relations between the index of obesity by body composition analysis (EMI. %BF and WHR) and results of other oriental health examinations (QSCC II, HRV and APG) on some women. Methods: 114 women who were tested by oriental health examination between May 2006 and August 2008 were studied. Results: As a result of the study on the relations between the index of obesity by body composition analysis and sasang constitution, it was found that each of them had significant differences among themselves and Taeumin had the highest significance than other sasang constitution. As a result of the study on the relations between the index of obesity by body composition analysis and HRV, it was discovered that there was no significant relationship between BMI and WHR and HRV. However, %BF had negative correlations with autonomic activity, stress resistance and stress index. As a result of the study on the relations between the index of obesity by body composition analysis and APG, it was found that they had positive correlations with each other.
