  • The organic insulation material has excellent thermal insulation property, but it is difficult to expect fire stability, and semi inorganic insulation only delays combustible hour but it is difficult to expect fire stability. In this study, thermal insulation property of cement-based non-combustible inorganic insulation using cement and non combustible materials and redispersible polymer powder was studied. As a result of the experiment, the thermal insulation property decreased as the use of redispersible polymer powder increased, but the heat insulation property improved when using the appropriate amount.

  • The effects of binder content and ceramic powder content on the water absorption, carbonation depth and cl- penetration depth of polymer-modified pastes using redispersible polymer powders and ceramic powder are examined. As a result, the water absorption .of the polymer-modified pastes using redispersible polymer powders tend to decrease with increasing binder content and ceramic powder content. Regardless of the type of redispersible polymer powder, the carbonation depth and cl- penetration depth of the polymer-modified pastes with ceramic powder tend to decrease with increasing binder content and ceramic powder content.

  • Recently, there is a growing trend in the United States toward replacing latex additives in polymer-modified cement mortars with redispersible polymer powders. This movement is relatively new in the U.S. but is further advanced in Europe due to the more extensive use of cement and concrete in residential construction. Hitherto, in Korea - there is a very diminutive movement towards this growing trend. Thus, there is limited availability of data on redispersible polymer powders. This study investigates the effectiveness of redispersible polymer powder on improvement of the mechanical properties of modified mortar. It was concluded from the results of the experiments that the size of the dispersed polymer particles, variations in glass transition points (Tg), and variations in minimum film formation temperature (MFT) influenced the strength development of the modified mortars, and optimum strength in modified mortars using redispersible powders can be achieved when the Tg which accounts for the degree of powder flexibility is considered.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the air content, setting time, drying shrinkage and strength of polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, the air content of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the setting time of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to delayed with increasing polymer-cement ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content. Regardless of the antifoamer content, the flexural and tensile strengths of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to increase with increasing polymer-cement ratio, and tend to decrease with increasing shrinkage-reducing agent content. However, the compressive strength of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

  • The permeable polymer-modified concrete has a lot of internal voids, which has more excellent performance in permeability and durability than asphalt and cement concrete. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to ascertain the strength properties of water-permeable polymer concretes with SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder. The water-permeable polymer concretes using SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder with water-binder ratio of 29 %, polymer-cement ratios of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 % are prepared, and tested for compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, water permeablility. From the test results, improvements in the strength properties of the water-permeable polymer concretes due to the addition of the SBR latex and redispersible polymer powder are discussed.

  • The effects of polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content on the durability of ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder are examined. As a result, regardless of the antifoamer content, the setting time of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder tend to delay with increasing polymer-cement ratio. The water absorption and chloride ion penetration depth of the ultrarapid-hardening polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powder decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and antifoamer content. The resistance of freezing and thawing and chemicals improvement is attributed to the improved bond between cement hydrates and aggregates because of the incorporation of redispersible polymer powder

  • 3D printing technology of construction field can be divided into structural materials, interior and exterior finishing materials, and is mainly done by extruding and adapting. Particularly when it is applied as an exterior materials, it is mainly applied to an unstructured exterior materials and high accuracy is required. The exterior materials can be used as a cement composite materials, it is suitable also for a additive type manufacturing, and the role of a redispersible polymer powder is important. But, high temperatures, redispersible polymer cement base material beget dehydration and micro crack of cement matrix. In this research, we developed a EVA, EVCL redispersible polymer cement base material applicable as a 3D printing exterior materials, confirmed density and strength characteristics for application as an exterior materials, a flame retardancy test for improving the fire resistance of buildings and confirmed its possibility. From the test result, developed EVCL redispersible polymer cement mortar showed good stability in high temperatures. These high temperature stability is caused by the ethylene-vinyl chloride binding. Thus, this result indicates that it is possible to fire resistant 3D printing interior and exterior finishing materials.
