Cacti-based Network Traffic Monitoring System Using Libpcap (Libpcap를 이용한 Cacti기반 네트워크 트래픽 모니터링 시스템)

  • For network is growing at a rapid rate, network environment is more complex. The technology of using network traffic to monitor our network in real-time is developed. Cacti is a representative monitoring tool which based on RRDTool(Round Robin Database tool), SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol). In this paper, it show you how to develop a system which based on Cacti and Libpcap to monitor our monitored objects. At this system, using Libpcap to capture network traffic packets, analyze these packets and then turn out in Cacti in graphical form. So as to achieve monitoring system. This system's execution is efficient and the management is easy and the results are accurate, so it can be widely utilized in the future.

Monitoring Network Security Situation Based on Flow Visualization (플로우 시각화 기반의 네트워크 보안 상황 감시)

  • In this paper we propose a new method of security visualization, VisFlow, using traffic flows to solve the problems of existing traffic flows based visualization techniques that were a loss of end-to-end semantics of communication, reflection problem by symmetrical address coordinates space, and intuitive loss problem in mass of traffic. VisFlow, a simple and effective security visualization interface, can do a real-time analysis and monitoring the situation in the managed network with visualizing a variety of network behavior not seen in the individual traffic data that can be shaped into patterns. This is a way to increase the intuitiveness and usability by identifying the role of nodes and by visualizing the highlighted or simplified information based on their importance in 2D/3D space. In addition, it monitor the network security situation as a way to increase the informational effectively using the asymmetrical connecting line based on IP addresses between pairs of nodes. Administrator can do a real-time analysis and monitoring the situation in the managed network using VisFlow, it makes to effectively investigate the massive traffic data and is easy to intuitively understand the entire network situation.

Polling Method based on Weight Table for Efficient Monitoring (효율적인 모니터링을 위한 가중치 테이블 기반의 폴링기법)

  • With the advance of ICT, understanding the condition of network and analysing network monitoring have become an important issue. On the TCP/IP network, SNMP is the typical protocol that catches the condition of network by using polling method. If polling method is implemented for a long period, to catch the change of the condition of the network is not easy. On the other hand, in case of short-term polling, even if it could catch the condition of the network in real time, responsive messages to results of the polling cause the increase of traffic and therefore burden the network. There have been studies to control the overhead of responsive messages by controlling the polling period. However, not considering the characteristics of an agent, and running randomly, they cannot decrease the overhead although they would have an instant effect. This paper suggests an efficient polling method that decreases the traffic overhead of polling and catches the condition of the network in real time. Proposed method an polling for a short period and gave weight based on the characteristics of agents to catch the network condition, and a manager decided polling differentially based on the weight so that it decreased the overhead of polling traffic.

  • Providing real-time location information is emerging as a major goal of the national industry. In order to provide such real-time location information (3D spatial information), it is essential to develop a technology for a satellite positioning method. Therefore, the country continues to make efforts to increase satisfaction with the needs of consumers by introducing the Network RTK GNSS method. In this study, among the Network RKT GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) methods provided by the National Geographic Information Service, continuous observation and single observation were measured at the integrated reference point using VRS(Virtual Reference Station) and FKP(Flӓachen-Korrektur Parameter) to evaluate accuracy. In addition, we aim to maximize efficiency by presenting accuracy on the rapidly increasing Network RTK GNSS method in the field.

A Microscopic Traffic Simulation Model for Urban Network Performance Evaluation (도시 가로망시설 운영효율평가를 위한 모의실험 모형개발)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a microscopic traffic simulation model which is able to both analyze and the evaluate signlaized urban network and to verify its usefulness in comparison with the other model which has alfeady been released. This simulation model adopts the General Motor's 5th model for car-following and introduces an unique lanechanging rule using acceptable gap. It analyzes single and dual-ring signal phases and generates detector information . So it could be applied to dynamic route guidance systems as wel as real time signal control systems. The results derived from Netsim and the observed data from the real network have been used to test the validit of the proposed model. The result of the test has shown that there are no significant differences between the NETSIM model and the proposed model in estimating travel speed and stopped delay. In optimum offset estimatin , it has shown the same results with NETSIM. the measure of effectiveness , however, derived from this model is slightly better than that of the real network situation. This may be due to the fact that the proposed model does not take into account side frictions from interferences and obstacles.

  • To operate the automatic devices of manufacturing process more effectively and to solve the needs of the resource sharing, network technology is applied to the control devices located in common manufacturing zone and operated by connecting them. In this paper, functional standard of the network layers are set as physical and data link layer of IEEE 802.2, 802.4, and VMD application layer and ISO-CIM reference model. Then, they are divided as minimized architecture, designed as group objects which perform group management and service objects which organizes and operates the group. For the stability in this network, this paper measures the variation of data packet length and node number and analyzes the variated value of the waiting time for the network operation. For the method of the analysis, non-exhausted service method are selected, and the arrival rates of the each data packet to the nodes that are assumed to form a Poission distribution. Then, queue model is set as M/G/1, and the analysis equation for waiting time is found. For the evalution of the performance, the length of the data packet varies from 10 bytes to 100 bytes in the operation of the group management network, the variation of the wating time is less than 10 msec. Since the waiting time in this case is less than 10 msec, response time is fast enough. Furthermore, to evaluate the real time processing of the group management network, it shows if the number of nodes is less than 40, and the average arrival time is less than 40 packet/sec, it can perform stable operation even taking the overhead such as software delay time, indicated packet service, and transmissin safety margin.

Efficient Real-time Multimedia Streaming System Using Partial Transport Stream for IPTV Services

  • IPTV Content delivery systems over wired networks confront scalability problems due to their high network bandwidth requirement for real-time services. Especially, VoD service provides Trick Mode features such as pause, fast forward and similar operations. However, Trick Mode services are delivered by the method of unicast only for controlling of the stream. With a point of views, this paper propose a new real-time multimedia streaming architecture over IP Networks, which tries to achieve bandwidth efficiency and supporting for mass clients better than traditional unicast services. The proposed methods divide the Transport Stream into a series of segments. After that, this divided partial Transport Stream makes multicast streaming periodically. Meanwhile Set-top Box of a client makes a rearrangement orderly by using Presentation Time Stamp field from the served Transport Stream packets. While the current Transport Stream segment is playing, it should be guaranteed that the next segment is downloaded on time. Consequently, the original video content can be played out continuously.   • The field of vehicle routing is currently growing rapidly because of many actual applications in truckload and less than truckload trucking, courier services, door to door services, and many other problems that generally hinder the optimization of transportation costs in a logistics network. The rapidly increasing number of customers in such a network has caused problems such as difficulty in cost optimization in terms of getting a global optimum solution in an acceptable time. Fast algorithms are needed to find sufficient solutions in a limited time that can be used for real time scheduling. In this paper, the nearest L-method (NLNM) is proposed to obtain a vehicle routing solution. String neighbors of different lengths were chosen, tested and compared. The applied de crossing procedure is meant to solve the routes by NLNM by giving a better solution and shorter computation time than that of NLNM with long string neighbors.

  • In this paper, the PWM inverter-motor drive system including sensor is controlled through the network. The algorithm to compensate for the time delay of ac current and ac voltage sensors due to the network is proposed. The delay time of sensors is kept nearly constant, using the synchronous signal and timers. The error between the real and estimated ac signals can be reduced by using two slopes for estimating the value of at signals. The proposed algorithms are verified with the simulation studies and experiments.

  • In this paper, we introduce the improved control method are communicated between a master and a slave robot in the teleoperation systems. When the master and slave robots are located in different places, time delay is unavoidable under the network environment and it is well known that the system can become unstable when even a small time delay exists in the communication channel. The time delay may cause instability in teleoperation systems especially if those systems include haptic feedback. This paper presents a control scheme based on the estimator with virtual master model in teleoperation systems over the network. As the behavior of virtual model is tracking the one of master model, the operator can control real master robot by manipulating the virtual robot. And LQG/LTR scheme was adopted for the compensation of un-modeled dynamics. The approach is based on virtual master model, which has been implemented on a robot over the network. Its performance is verified by the computer simulation and the experiment.
