수두증을 동반한 뇌경색 환자의 실어증 치료 증례보고 1례 (A Case Report of Treatment for Aphasia in Patients with Cerebral Infarction with Hydrocephalus)

  • The purpose of this case study was to report the effectiveness of aphasia in patients with cerebral infarction with hydrocephalus. A patient diagnosed with a middle cerebral artery infarction and hydrocephalus was treated with Gami-cheongeumjowi-tang, acupuncture, and moxibustion. The degree of improvement of symptoms was evaluated using the Korean version of the Frenchay Aphasia Screening Test (K-FAST) and the Mini-Mental State Examination-Korea (MMSE-K). At the time of admission, the K-FAST score was 7 points and the MMSE-K score was 4 points because no words other than 'Yes' could be spoken. At discharge, the K-FAST score was 22 points and the MMSE-K score was 19 points. A particularly noticeable improvement was found in spoken and written comprehension, reading, and repetition. The study findings indicate that Korean medicine treatment can be used to treat the symptoms of patients with aphasia. The periventricular region may be distorted by hydrocephalus, resulting in Broca's aphasia in a cerebral infarction of the middle cerebral artery inferior division.

학령초기아동 어머니의 근시 인식 (A Study on the Perception of the Myopia in Children's Mother)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the perception of the myopia in early school-aged children's mother and develope myopia preventive education program. Method: Data was collected from June 1th to 24th, 2003. The sample group(two elementary schools in A city)consisted of 105students mother with normal vision(naked vision 1.0 or more), 105 students mother with subnormal vision(0.7 or less). The data was analyzed using S.A.S. For the test of homogeneity and significance of variable, Fisher's Exact test and Student's t-test were used. Results: 1. There was significant difference in perception of being changed the children's eyesight between normal and myopia group(t=7.86, p=.0492). 2. High scores of cause of myopia were distance from TV or computer to viewer and time of watching TV or using computer in both groups. 3. There was significant difference in perception score of cause of myopia in the myopia group was 13.26, and 18.04 in the normal group(t=3.01, p=0.003). Especially in the unbalanced and regulated diet, regulated exercise, distance of eyes reading books and illumination, normal group had more perception score than myopia group. Conclusion: A myopia education program for children and parents should be planed and the effect be verified.

독서치료가 경증 치매노인의 인지도와 우울증에 미치는 효과 - S 독서치료연구회 임상사례를 중심으로 - (Effects on the Bibliotherapy for Depressed and Remark of Dotard Dementias Old Adults)

  • 본 연구서는 인지장애나 경증 치매로 의심되는 65세 이상 90세 이하의 남녀 노인 12명을 실험집단으로 선정하여 6개월간 독서치료 프로그램을 실시하고, 그 결과를 토대로 독서치료가 치매노인의 인지도와 우울증에 미치는 효과에 대해 연구하였다. 측정도구는 신뢰도와 타당도가 검증된 한국판 MMSE-K와 우울정도를 측정하기 위해 단축형 노인 우울척도를 사용하였다. 치매노인을 위한 독서치료 프로그램을 실시한 결과 인지도는 향상되고 우울증은 감소함으로써 독서치료가 경증 치매노인의 증상을 호전시키는데 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

음의 크기가 정상성인의 비음도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Vocal Loudness on Nasalance Measures of Normal Adults)

  • This study examined the effect of vocal loudness on nasalance measures, under the conditions of three sentence patterns (i.e., Oral sentences, Mixed sentences, Nasal sentences). The vocal loudness level was classified into soft voice (55 dB), medium voice (65 dB) and loud voice (75 dB). The participants in the present study were 30 normal adults (male: female =1:1). Kay's Nasometer 6200 was used to measure nasalance and Sound level meter was used to adjust the loudness level. The results of the present study are as follows. Firstly, the change in vocal loudness is in the following. In the Oral sentence stimuli, the loud voice for both male and female showed the highest nasalance degree, and the medium voice the lowest level. In the Mixed and Nasal sentence stimuli, however, male participants showed the highest degree of nasalance in the soft voice, and the lowest degree in the loud voice, and female showed the highest degree of nasalance in the soft voice and the lowest in the medium voice. Secondly, when each subject's nasalance scores were ranked in a ordered manner, noticeable tendency. Lowest nasalance score occurred in the loud voice and the highest nasalance score was recorded in the soft voice during participants' reading of the Nasal sentences. However, it was hard to find such pattern in the Oral sentences. It is assumed that velopharyngeal function could be related to these findings. Furthermore, the findings associated with vocal loudness may have diagnostic as well as clinical implications.

일 지역 간호대학생의 영성에 관한 연구 (Spirituality of Student Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the level of spirituality in student nurses and to provide baseline data to develop a spirituality development education program. Method: The participants were 499 students in departments of nursing in 5 universities in Busan. The data were collected between June 7 and July 18, 2002. The instrument was used Howden's spirituality assessment scale. Collected data were analyzed with frequencies, percentages, $Means{\pm}SD$, t-test F-test, Scheffe test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The SPSS program was used. Results: 1) The mean score for spirituality was $101.14{\pm}8.70$ (range 26-130). 2) The mean score for perceived health state was $3.42{\pm}0.80$. 3) Spirituality according to general characteristics showed significant differences for sex, religion, practice experience, smoking, drinking, and climate of home. 4) Spirituality according to religious characteristics showed significant differences for influence of religion, necessity of religion, help from religion, subjectivity of God in life, reading religious books, participation in religion ceremonies. 5) There was a significant positive correlation between perceived health state and spirituality. Conclusion: The spirituality of the student nurses was high and differed according to sex, religion, practice experience, smoking, drinking, and climate of home, religious characteristics, spirituality, and perceived health status.

  • 저자는 Panelipse Ⅱ의 상층 및 상의 확대변화를 관찰하기 위하여 모형판에 금속구를 위치시켜 3가지 Profile Index에서 각기 20장씩 방사선사진을 촬영하여 관찰한 결과를 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있었다. Profile Index의 증가에 따른 Panelipse Ⅱ 방사선상의 상층에 있어 모양의 변화는 없었고, 폭은 더 넓어졌으며, 회전축중심에서 외측으로 상층은 이동하였다. 방사선상에서 수평 수직확대는 공히 Profile Index가 증가함에 따라 그 범위가 커졌으며 이는 수평확대에 있어 수직확대보다 현저하였다.

고등학생이 인지하는 성폭력에 대한 잘못된 통념 분석 (High School Students Misconceptions of Sexual Violence)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze high school. students' misconceptions and education of sexual violence. The data were collected from June 19 to July 14, 2000 using the questionnaire. The Subjects of this study consisted of 660 high school students in six provinces(Seoul, Incheon, Daegu, Kyunggi, Kangwon, Kyungbuk). Data were analyzed using percentage, mean standard deviation, ANOVA, and Duncan test. The results were as follows 1. About sixty-three percent of the subjects was educated for sexual violence. 2. About thirty-four percent of the subjects experienced sexual harassment, 22.3% of the subjects experienced serious sexual contact and 0.8% of the subjects was raped. 3. The mean score of misconception related sexual violence was $2.71{\pm}0.45$. 4. The mean score of misconception related sexual violence showed significant differences in delayed time of education(F=8.90, P<.0001), in reading of pornomagazine (F=2.58, P<.01) and in taken lecture from physical education teacher. 5. The mean score of misconception related sexual violence showed significant differences in experience of sexual harassment (t=-2.63, P<.01) and in experience of serious sexual contact(t=-2.78, P<.01). 6. There was a significant differences in misconception related sexual violence between boy and girl(t=6.69, P<.0001). According to the above results, realistic and future-directed sexual violence education materials should be developed for high school students. This information will provide useful data to promote a more systemic and desirable sexual violence education.

성폭력에 대한 중학생의 인식과 경험 (Middle School Students' Perceptions of Sexual Violence)

P<.0001) and in reading of pornomagazine(F=2.03. P<.05). 5. The mean score of misconception related sexual violence showed significant differences in experience of sexual harassment(t=-1.92. P<.05) and in experience of serious sexual contact (t=-2.41. P<.01). 6. There was a significant differences in misconception related sexual violence between boy and girl(t=5.79. P<.0001). According to the above results, realistic and future-directed sexual violence education materials should be developed for middle school students. This information will provide useful data to promote a more systemic, desirable and sexual violence education.

Computerized English Pronunciation Testing

  • The past decade has witnessed the abundant use of computer in testing language skills such as listening and reading. Compared with these language skills, we have experienced little use of computer in testing a speaking skill including pronunciation. This is largely due to limitations of the current computer technology. One of such limitations for testing pronunciation is to store and automatically evaluate what the learner utters. Due to this limitation, the computer simply stores what the learner utters and raters evaluate it afterward on a certain rating continuum. With the advent of voice recognition technology, however, the computer has been able to test pronunciation in a systematic way. This technology enables the computer to identify, visually show, and evaluate the learner's intonation pattern by means of autocorrection. The evaluation is expressed in terms of the degree in which the learner's intonation pattern overlaps with that of the native speaker of the target language. In particular, the degree is numerically displayed on the screen, and this numeral is considered as the score of the learner's utterance under our testing framework.

Just Maybe the Problem Lies in Reading the Pictorial Model

  • Sixty-four EC-6 teacher candidates were asked to elaborate on the method they used when interrupting seven mathematical pictorial models. The instrument used was research designed but modeled after a 4th grade released state tests. This study was conducted in the southern part of the United States. A panel of experts worked with the researcher to determine the most appropriate initial approach to interrupting the mathematical pictorial model. The pictorial models examined such concepts as measurement, place value and time. Since the questions were on a 4th grade level, it was expected that the teacher candidates would score 100%, however, this was not the case. The results will be given in the paper as each question is discussed. The results of the survey are being used to develop teaching modules for teacher candidates in mathematics methodology classes.
