  • We describe a new method to initialize the raster and convergence of a flat intelligent tracking (F!T) tube. By splitting up the initialization algorithm into three parts, it can comply with the variety of boundary conditions that are stated for a consumer product. Experiments on raster initialization have shown that the new algorithm speeds up the initialization by one order of magnitude.

  • Raster operations are widely used to display full-color graphics images (or pixmaps) and single-color images (or bitmaps). These features are strongly needed for image processing applications and font output. However, current mobile graphics platforms, including OpenGL ES hardware implementations, do not directly support these features. To fully support those raster operations on the mobile graphics platforms, we interpreted the graphics images as a set of 3D points, and processed those 3D points through the typical 3D geometry pipelines, in a full-software implementation. Our implementation shows sufficient execution speeds, and passed the official conformance tests to show its correctness.

  • H.264 is the most recent video coding standard, containing improved error resilience tools than previous video compression schemes. This paper shows an analysis of the dependency of error concealment (EC) performance on the expected number of correctly received neighboring macroblock(MB)s for a lost MB, applying error concealment schemes to the raster scan mode that is used in the previous video coding standard and the flexible macroblock ordering (FMO) which is one of error-resilience tools in H.264. We also present simulation results and performance evaluation with various packet loss rates. Simulation results show that the FMO mode provides better EC performances of $1{\sim}9dB$ PSNR improvements compared to the raster scan mode because of larger expected number of correctly received neighboring MBs. The PSNR improvement by FMO mode becomes higher as the intra-frame period is larger and the packet loss rate is higher.

  • In this paper, we proposed a search method for structured light pixels of omnidirectional structured light image. Since the omnidirectional structured light image is composed of several circular arc segments, the proposed algorithm searches the structured light pixels in radial direction rather than horizontal or vertical directions. The proposed search algorithm is based on the well-known Bresenham raster algorithm for line drawing in discrete integer space, thereby computation of the algorithm is very efficient. Comparison results between the proposed search algorithm and the conventional horizontal search are presented in experiments.

  • We propose 3D perspective display using elevation matrix data with 2D information overlay. This algorithm is based on ID scan-line method and we used color index of the newly developed raster map, VRRG(Vector Restored Raster Graphics). The proposed method allows the fast generation of perspective view of 3D data with 2D overlay and the fast selective display of the features of 2D overlay.

  • To organize the least control information for vector-drawing Korean characters, relatively simple 'Shortest Route Searching Algorithms' which can be applied to Korean character patterns were constructed. The shortest drawing routes and the common starting point for all charcters were found with this algorithm. It is shown that the vectors, which needs the least control informations to follow the shortest drawing route, are those vertical and horizontal vectors which have the size of 1 arid 3 times of raster distance. The vector control information for drawing 33 Korean characters including 9 double consonants and vowels can be organized with 7 bits 463 words of horizontal format informations which are corresponding to 3,241 bits.

  • A program which can produce military standard raster maps was developed. This includes the functions that classify the types of geospatial data, publish automatically based on paper map schema, and convert products with military standard raster formats. Especially, this paper presents the automatic map-publishing technique with mathematical modeling and controling the line width, color, shape that ever not used.

  • This study was conducted to estimate the mean annual extreme minimum temperature raster and predict the potential distribution of the invasive plant, Ipomoea triloba, on the Korean peninsula. We collected annual extreme minimum temperature and mean coldest month minimum temperature data from 129 weather stations on the Korean peninsula from 1990-2019 and used this data to create a linear regression model. The min temperature of the coldest month raster from Worldclim V2 were used to estimate a 30 second spatial resolution, mean annual extreme minimum temperature raster of the Korean peninsula using a regression model. We created three climatic rasters of the Korean peninsula for use with the Proto3 species distribution model and input the estimated mean annual extreme minimum temperature raster, a Köppen-Geiger climate class raster from Beck et al. (2018), and we also used the mean annual precipitation from Worldclim V2. The potential distribution of I. triloba was estimated using the Proto3 model with 117 occurrence points. As a result, the estimated area for a potential distribution of I. triloba was found to be 50.7% (111,969 ㎢) of the Korean peninsula.

  • In order to use the existing map data base in the mobile phone, the dynamic creation technique of the radio map which will be able to be converted into the raster image and transmitted was proposed. We transferred the client module functions such as the coordinate conversion, data compression and decoding to server, and made driving of JAVA browser in the mobile phone which has the restricted resources possible for the dynamic creation of the radio map. We made the radio electronic map service possible without map data base for the mobile phone use only by performing the general work of the map at the sever. And we guaranteed the client waiting time less then the limit time by performing the filtering work of the map at the server also. After we input the keyword at the user interface for searching the region or facility, and verified the performance of the proposed technique by confirming that the raster electronic map usable at the mobile phone was created dynamically.

  • Raster data mode and Vector data are the two major model in geographic information systems. These two data models are difficult to be intergrated because of their differences in structures and properties. Almost all of the current GIS systems process in one data model by converting one data type to another type. So. the loss and change of information caused by data conversiion degrades the accuracy of data. In this paper, we propose a new data model which can process two data models without conversion. We use quadtree for raster data and topological vector model for vector data. The output is formed as raster data model of quadtree. We can get more accurate overay output, and this intergrated model is more suitable for data like forest, landuses, soils that consist of classes which have small distribution changes.
