We examined the nutritive value of common grass species in the semi-arid rangelands of Borana in southern Ethiopia using local experience based herbage preference (LEBHP) perception and laboratory techniques. Local pastoralists in the study area were asked to identify common grass species and rank them according to the species' preferences and palatability to cattle. The pastoralists listed a total of 15 common grass species which were then sampled during the main rain and cold dry seasons and analyzed for crude protein (CP), Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) and ash content to verify pastoralists' claim regarding the quality of individual species. The relative feed value (RFV) and dry matter digestibility (DMD) were also calculated using NDF and ADF contents. Spearman's rank correlation was used to examine possible relationships between laboratory results and pastoralists' experience on grass quality. Cenchrus ciliaris, Chrysopogon aucheri, Digitaria milanjiana, Eragrostis papposa and Panicum maximum were the top five species based on LEBHP perception. There were indications of inconsistency in terms of LEBHP perception among the different pastoral communities. The chemical composition of all grass species showed significant (p<0.05) variation between sites, seasons and species. The results showed that the CP values for the Borana rangelands were in the range of 8.7% in the main rain season to 5.1% for the cold dry season. The fiber constituents were relatively low in the main rain season compared to the cold dry season. Overall, Digitaria milanjiana had the highest CP (16.5%) content, while the least was recorded with Heteropogon contortus (10.8) and Aristida adoensis (9.8%) during the main rain season. It seems that the spatial variability of landscapes within the wider geographical regions, soil properties and texture, and land-use patterns probably contributed to site differences in species quality. Generally, the RFV of individual grass species was significantly (p<0.05) varied between and within sites. The ranking of species by pastoralists according to their preferences by cattle was highly correlated with the chemical composition of laboratory results of individual grass species with 'r' values for CP (0.94), ash (0.95), NDF (-0.98), ADF (-0.93) and ADL (-0.93). We suggest the complimentary use of LEBHP and laboratory techniques in evaluating the nutritive quality of rangeland forage species for sustainable animal production.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of arthroscopic meniscal repair according to joint stability. Materials and Methods : Twenty cases were reviewed, which had underwent arthroscopic meniscal repair. The mean age was 32.3 years old. The mean follow-up period was 59.7 months. Menisci that had underwent complete repair of associated ligament injuries (8cases, Sa) and menisci that had no associated ligament injury (9 cases, Sb) were classified as stable group (S), and the others (3 cases) as unstable group (U). Also stable group was divided into acute and chronic group. The result was evaluated with Lysholm score and IKDC method. The statistical analysis was done using Wilcoxon rank sum test and Fisher's exact test (p<0.05). Results : Group Sa had $87.5\%$ satisfactory and Lysholm score was 90.9. Group U had $66.7\%$ satisfactory, and Lysholm score was 77.7. Group Sb had $89.9\%$, satisfactory and Lysholm store was 91.4. In acute group $91.7\%$ was satisfactory, Lysholm score 92.5, in chronic group $80\%$ was satisfactory, Lysholm score 88.6. Conclusion : Joint stability was important factor for the outcome of meniscal repairs. So, it is desirable to repair meniscus injury early and the repair of associated ligament injuries should be performed together.

Objective : The authors conducted a retrospective cohort study to determine prognostic factors and treatment outcomes of brain metastases (BM) from breast cancer (BC) after Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKS). Methods : Pathologic and clinical features, and outcomes were analyzed in a cohort of 62 patients with BM from BC treated by GKS. The Kaplan- Meier method, the log-rank test, and Cox's proportional hazards model were used to assess prognostic factors. Results : Median survival after GKS was 73.0 weeks (95% confidence interval, 46.0-100.1). HER2+ [hazard ratio (HR) 0.441; p=0.045], Karnofsky performance scale (KPS) ${\geq}70$ (RR 0.416; p=0.050) and systemic chemotherapy after GKS (RR 0.282; p=0.001) were found to be a favorable prognostic factor of overall survival. Actuarial local control (LC) rate were $89.5{\pm}4.5%$ and $70.5{\pm}6.9%$ at 6 and 12 months after GKS, respectively. No prognostic factors were found to affect LC rate. Uni- and multivariate analysis revealed that the distant control (DC) rate was higher in patients with; a small number (${\leq}3$) of metastasis (HR 0.300; p=0.045), no known extracranial metastasis (p=0.013, log-rank test), or the HER2+ subtype (HR 0.267; p=0.027). Additional whole brain radiation therapy and metastasis volume were not found to be significantly associated with LC, DC, or overall survival. Conclusion : The treatment outcomes of patients with newly diagnosed BM from BC treated with GKS could be affected primarily by intrinsic subtype, KPS, and systemic chemotherapy. Therapeutic strategy and prognosis scoring system should be individualized based on considerations of intrinsic subtype in addition to traditionally known parameters related to stereotactic radiosurgery.

This study is conducted for the purpose of analyzing and contemplating the problems with the competition in current landscape design, with the goal of improving the landscape design competition system by using the AHP technique. The result of this study, first describe the Landscape design competition system that formed the problems and show the most important problem followed by other problems shown in order of importance, which are 'design changes after winning', 'Guidelines for design competition' and 'Landscape design competition manner'. Secondly, in the low rank article make up the level one -From a total 12 elements from the low rank article corresponding in 'process of winner selection' the 'Unprofessional landscape participate the screening' collected comments for the biggest problem, 'lack of expertise in judgement', 'problems with the examination scoring system' and other articles, the corresponding in 'process of winner selection' appears at the highest ranks. It also happens that after making the choice in the landscape design competition, the importance of 'client's design change symptoms' appears high. As a result the overlooked details of the landscape design competition's problems were analyzed. This study has prioritized the problems by problems which landscape design competition institutions most frequently have. Based on this ranking, there is significance purpose to create proactive system improvements in the future. By analyzing these problems, we will be better able to develop improvements to the future system.
Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell is one of pulp woods that is being developed through breeding plantation programs in Indonesia. The research aimed at exploring the chemical and morphological characteristics of fiber, and to determine the rank of plus trees from 4 provenances based on the suitability for pulps. The materials included the plus trees of E. pellita (9 years) from the 2nd generation of progeny tests in Pelaihari, South Borneo. Wood properties under investigation included the chemical properties and morphological fiber characteristics (fiber dimensions and its derived properties). In the present study, data were analyzed using descriptive statistic, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Pearson's correlation. Results showed that the chemical properties of E. pellita, i.e. the contents of ethanol-toluene extractives, hot water soluble extractives, holocellulose, alphacelullose, and lignin were $3.08{\pm}1.00%$, $1.41{\pm}0.38%$, $75.26{\pm}2.58%$, $49.02{\pm}2.88%$, and $29.49{\pm}1.86%$, respectively. The average values of wood fiber morphology were $1.02{\pm}0.08$ mm (fiber length), $13.25{\pm}1.64{\mu}m$ (fiber diameter), of $6.94{\pm}1.70{\mu}m$ (lumen diameter), $3.15{\pm}0.52{\mu}m$ (fiber wall thickness), $0.97{\pm}0.30$ (Runkel ratio), $0.57{\pm}0.10$ (Luce's shape factor), $78.21{\pm}10.34$ (slenderness ratio) and $130.91{\pm}33.77{\times}10^3{\mu}m^3$ (solids factor). The AHP scoring rank indicated that the best individuals were 28.4.3.28 (Kiriwo Utara), 12.1.5.28 (North Kiriwo), 19.11.5.45 (Serisa Village), 3.8.4.9 (South Kiriwo), and 6.6.3.15 (South Kiriwo). Pearson correlation analysis showed significant correlations between the levels of fiber length with alpha-cellulose content (r = 0.39) as well as the fiber length with ethanol-toluene extractive contents (r = -0.41).

The distribution of Coreoperca kawamebari was known to be restricted to the Tamjin River and several small streams flowing into the southern part of the West Sea, while C. herzi was widely distributed throughout South Korea except the areas inhabited by C. kawamebari: the two species were known to be allopatric. However, we found that both species were sympatric in the Boseong River, a tributary of the Seomjin River, and the Jiseok Stream, a tributary of the Yeongsan River. Local-scale distribution of the two Coreoperca species, fish assemblages, and environmental variables were surveyed to investigate effects of environmental factors on fish community structures in the Boseong River. Rank abundance distribution of fish community at the study sites indicated that fish species diversity and distribution pattern of the two Coreoperca species were closely related to habitat diversity. The result of canonical correspondence analysis showed that C. kawamebari was distributed in pool areas while C. herzi was found in the areas with higher water velocity and boulder substrate. These results suggested that species diversity of fish community decreased and only one of the two Coreoperca species inhabited at the sites with less diverse habitat, but on the other hand, high habitat diversity increased species diversity and allowed the two species to coexist.
Background : The purpose of our study was to analyze scientific papers published by South Korean plastic surgeons in journals included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), and to evaluate the publication and research activities of Korean plastic surgeon. Methods : We conducted a survey of SCIE papers in the field of plastic surgery published by South Korean authors between 2001 and 2010 using Web of Science software. Ten selected soybean genotypes, consisting of nine from a pedigree breeding programme and one recommended variety, were evaluated in nine different locations and over two years for stability of yield performance. Variance component analysis revealed that soybean regional yield trials should be performed at more locations rather than in more years. Five stability parameters, which were coefficient of variability, regression coefficient, deviation parameter, variance component for genotype$\times$environment interaction, and ecovalence, were employed in the evaluation. Significant genotype$\times$environment interaction was present with respect to soybean yield. The highest average yield over nine locations and two years was shown in Suwon 145, which was considered to be stable in all stability statistics. In rank correlation among stability parameters, there were highly significant correlations among stability parameters derived from three Eberhart and Russell's, Plaisted's, and Wricke's methods. Due to the different ranking of genotypes by different stability parameters, a comprehensive method should be employed to identify the promising genotype as well as to characterize the relationship between genotype and environment.
National competitiveness is related directly to the strength of educational competitiveness of universities. Seoul National University (SNU) has been taking efforts to improve its competitiveness in University education in variety of ways and the classroom assessment is one key example of those. The current classroom assessment system practiced at universities is being used to evaluate courses and professors in charge by the university administration or evaluation committee. The classroom assessment system is not intended to put students and professors as the subject of the evaluation. In this case, the evaluation is intended wrongfully to rank the courses and evaluate professors' achievement by assigning grades on the lectures. Instead, a proper classroom assessment system should be targeted to improve the quality of lectures by encouraging communication among professor and students in the classroom. In this study, it was intended to investigate a suitable classroom assessment system to enhance the effectiveness of education, not to rank the courses and evaluate professors' achievement. For this purpose, research has been carried out to investigate opinions of professors at SNU on the criteria of classroom assessment and to analyze the criteria of classroom assessment at other domestic universities in Korea. The inquiries for feedback on the lecture by the student in the class was analyzed. The current classroom assessment system at SNU was reviewed and an improvement plan was devised to evaluate liberal art courses of engineering and science schools at SNU. In this research, the problems in the classroom assessment system was reviewed and improvement points were searched to utilize the classroom assessment system more effectively for the improvement of lecture quality.
National parks in Korea are subject to a survey of natural resources every five years, according to the Natural Parks Act. This study analyzed the insect diversity in each of the 21 national parks conducted as part of the Third Nature Resource Survey of National Parks (2010~2018). It compared insect diversity in each national park national biodiversity with insect diversity in all national parks and analyzed the uncollected sub-taxonomic groups of each taxonomic group and the legally protected species. The Third Nature Resource Survey identified 5,584 species in 456 families in 21 orders in all national parks, and they accounted for 31.3% of 17,848 species in the national insect diversity. By taxonomic group, Lepidoptera was the most frequently found with 2,195 species, followed by beetles (1,495 species), fellings (712 species), and stink bugs (515 species). By national park, Odaesan national park showed the highest insect diversity with 1,963 species, followed by Sobeaksan national park (1,511), Hanryeohaesang national park (1,321), Gayasan national park (1,282), Juwangsan national park (1,265), Dadohaehaesang national park (1,264), Woraksan national park (1,251), and Jirisan national park (1,240). The legally protected species included 3 species of endangered species rank I, 11 species of endangered species rank II, 12 climate change indicator species, 139 endemic species, and 532 species requiring approval for cross-border transfer.
