Development of In-Process Polishing Pressure Control System (실시간 폴리싱 압력 제어시스템 개발)

  • Polishing process has been applied to get extremely fine surfaces, e.g., mirror surfaces such as optical mirrors, lens, molds and etc. Nowadays not only fine surface quality but also submicron order of dimensional accuracy is required for many applications. To meet the requirements polishing process should be provided with an active control of polishing pressure especially for automation of polishing process. In this paper a study on development of an active polishing pressure control system has been presented. A new type of tool assembly has been developed to facilitate the control. The tool is attached to an axis of a polishing machine with a coil spring and control of the polishing pressure is done by the position control of the axis, which needs no additional actuator. The polishing pressure is successfully measured by the measurement of the spring deformation. Control specifications were quantitatively considered by weighting functions and a controller was designed by using loop-shaping technique based on the no synthesis. Some experiments have been executed on a polishing machine with a PC-NC controller. It is shown that the results were coincident well with the theoretical analyses and satisfied the design specifications.

Measurement of MTF in Display image on monitor by SWRF (SWRF를 이용한 전시영상의 MTF 측정)

  • The quality of X -ray image is depending on the acquired signal pattern So far, the MTF(modulation transfer function) of medical image system has been obtained through various kinds of calculationprocesses after using SWRF (A square wave response function method) to print out it into films. In this study, a tool has been developed that can help the actual user who actually creates the medical images measure the MTF of the finaldisplay image very simply by applying Borland C++ builder software as well as LEAD tools software for the SWRF calculation process to analyze the MTF even on the display image. Films have been printed out by this newly developed MTF measuring tool under the same conditions with the ones for the existing tools and also the calculation method has shown no difference with any existing SWRF calculation method. By using this, it was found out that the MTF of the resolving power of the computed radiography(CR) Image plate (IP) that is a conventional X-ray detection system Jar the conventional X-ray purpose was about 10% at the range of 3.00 LP/mm.

  • Purpose: This study was purposed to identify the effect of pain monitoring program for improving the knowledge, attitude and assessment ability of cancer pain in oncology nurses. Methods: In this study pain monitoring program was developed based on the literature, and constructed it with various teaching method including several group lectures, workshop, focus group and implementation at the clinical practices. In order to test the effect of this program, contrast group, pretest-post test quasi-experimental design was designed. 46 oncology nurses randomly assigned to either control or experimental group. The tool used are 32 item scale for the evaluation of the nurses' knowledge, attitude toward pain modified by Kim(1997), which was originally developed by McCaffery and Ferrel(1995). Results: The pain monitoring program for the oncology nurses was statistically significant for improving the level of the knowledge about and attitude toward pain management, and pain assessment behavior. Conclusion: More sensitive multiple measurement tool for the attitude toward pain management needs to be developed. Nurses need more knowledge and effective attitude toward cancer pain management. Pain monitoring program in this study is effective to improve the quality of pain management.

  • In recent manufacturing process, the increase of productivity has been attempted by reducing machining time with the increase of cutting force. However, the excessive increase of cutting force can cause tool breakage and have a bad effect on both manufacturing machine and workpiece. Thus, it is necessary to estimate and control the cutting force in real time during the process. In this study, use of disturbance observer is proposed for the indirect cutting force estimation. The estimated cutting force is used for the real-time control of feedrate, making the actual cutting force follow the reference force command. Since the suggested method does not need an expensive sensor like a dynamometer, the method is expected to be used practically. Since the actual cutting force follow the reference force, resulting the reducing of the machining time the increase of productivity are also expected, and the quality of cutting surface has been improved due to the adjusted feedrate. Besides, an actual constant cutting force guarantees the prevention of tool breakage. To show the effectiveness of the suggested cutting force control method, an experimental setup has been made without sensor and applied to several workpieces. Experiments show that the suggested method is effective to cutting force control of a CNC machining center.

  • The prolonged of the Post Corona, many Cosmetic company launched various online services. In this paper, consider about the quality of product recommendation using personal color detecting technology. Using the detecting tool which is most widely used by cosmetic company. we will do a lot of testing with this tool and also testing with color detecting equipment. For precise experimental results, it was conducted in a consistent experimental environment. This experiment can be a foundation that can be well used for the expansion of personalized product recommendation services according to the current image-based skin color measurement.

Development of the Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 소진 측정도구 개발)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for burnout in general hospital nurses and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: Construct factors were extracted through an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with nurses. Psychometric testing was conducted with 550 nurses in a general hospital. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing. Results: As a result of factor analysis, 4 factors and 26 items were selected. The burnout factors of general hospital nurses were professional quality of life, work environment excellence, job satisfaction, and negative emotions. The overall coefficient of determination was 46.38%. These factors were validated through convergent, discriminant and concurrent validity testing. The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's α=.91). Conclusions: The Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses is a valid and reliable tool that contributes to the assessment of burnout in general hospital nurses. This scale is expected to be used in burnout practice and research of general hospital nurses.

  • This study is about the development of measurement system using ubiquitous wireless communication for river flow monitoring. The system can acquire water depth, quality (temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity etc.) while a GPS module for getting the location data of measurement points. Also this system is able to acquire the field data via RF connection and can be controlled same time. The acquired data is transmitted to a gateway system from the remote buoy using Zigbee wireless connection. And the gateway system is able to monitor the data through GIS monitoring tool. Finally the data are transmitted to a server computer using CDMA wireless connection by gateway system. The D/B of server computer are constructed automatically and monitored the project web site. The resulting system can be used for scour monitoring, environment monitoring and the other monitoring purposes such as a river flow monitoring system.

  • In education, evaluation is an important element because instructor can judge the growth and development of students, it has been to bring about quality improvement in education. Performance assessment has emerged to overcome traditional evaluation such as paper test, multiple choice test. Performance assessment is an approach to measuring a student's status based on the way the student completes a specified task. Information literacy instruction is aimed at cultivating information literacy. Performance assessment suitable for measurement to status of Information literacy. In order to performance assessment, task should have the first. However, instructor is difficult to develop a good performance task to meet the assessment needs. Therefore, this research aims at suggesting the developmental tool of performance task applicable to Information literacy instruction. The proposed tool is a template type, consists of 4 steps, educational goals and learning objectives, knowledge and capabilities, task types, measurement and scoring criteria.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the trends of studies on work-related musculoskeletal disorder and to suggest the direction of future research.   • Physical evaluations provide the basis for an objective and quantitative analysis of the image quality. Nonetheless, there are limitations in using physical evaluations to judge the utility of the image quality if the observer's subjectivity plays a key role despite its imprecise and variable nature. This study proposes a new method for objective and quantitative evaluation of image quality to compensate for the demerits of both physical and subjective image quality and combine the merits of them. The images of chest phantom were acquired from four digital radiography systems on clinic sites. The physical image quality was derived from an image analysis algorithm in terms of the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the low-contrast objects in three regions (lung, heart, and diaphragm) of a digital chest phantom radiograph. For image analysis, various image processing techniques were used such as segmentation, and registration, etc. The subjective image quality was assessed by the ability of the human observer to detect low-contrast objects. Fuzzy integral was used to integrate them. The findings of this study showed that the physical evaluation did not agree with the subjective evaluation. The system with the better performance in physical measurement showed the worse result in subjective evaluation compared to the other system. The proposed protocol is an integral evaluation method of image quality, which includes the properties of both physical and subjective measurement. It may be used as a useful tool in image evaluation of various modalities.
