A bacteriological study of sea water and oyster in Tongyeong coastal area was conducted to evaluate sanitary conditions of the bay and compliance of waters with the recommended bacteriological criteria fur the designated area of shellfish cultivation. The Samples were collected at 5 zone, 34 sampling stations(Fig. 1) established once a month from September 1997 to August 1998. During the study period, temperature ranged from 6.9 to 23.6$^{\circ}C$, transparency ranged from 2.6 to 6.2 m, chemical oxygen demand ranged from 1.35 to 1.82 mg/ι, dissolved oxy-gen ranged from 5.0 to 9.9 mg/ι, dissolved nitrogen ranged from 1.60 to 8.17 $\mu\textrm{g}$-at/ι, phosphate ranged from 0.14 to 1.21 $\mu\textrm{g}$-at/ι, Chlorophyll-a ranged from 2.03 to 69.9 mg/㎥, respectively. The coliform group and fecal coliform MPN's of sea water were ranged from <3.0~1,600 and <3.0~540, respectively. The coliform group and fecal coliform MPN's of oysters were ranged from <18~16,000 and <18~2,200, respectively. The viable cell counts in oyster ranged from $1.5\times$10$^2$to 8.2$\times$10$^3$. The coliform stoup, fecal coliform, classification of coliform group with IMViC reactions and pathogenic vibrios were analyzed. 437 strains that were obtained from Tongyeoung coastal area seawater samples represented E. coli group 47.5%, C. freundii group 14.8%, K. aerogenes 10.9%, unknown 26.8%, respectively. During the study period, infectious bacteria such as Vibrio ohoEerae, Salmonella sp. and Shigella sp. were not detected from the samples, but detection ratios of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio vulnificus were 12~21% in summer months.
Purpose: To compare corneal asphericity, visual acuity (VA), and ocular and corneal higher-order aberrations (HOAs) between myopic refractive surgery and emmetropia groups. Methods: Twenty three subjects ($23.0{\pm}2.5$ years) who underwent myopic refractive surgery and twenty emmetropia ($21.0{\pm}206$ years) were enrolled. The subjects'criteria were best unaided monocular VA of 20/20 or better in both two groups. High and low contrast log MAR visual acuities were measured under photopic and mesopic conditions. Corneal and ocular HOAs were measured using Wavefront Analyzer (KR-1W, Topcon) for 4 mm and 6 mm pupils. Corneal asphericity was taken by topography in KR-1W. Results: There was no significant difference in VA between two groups under either photopic or mesopic conditions. In ocular aberrations, there were significant differences in total HOAs, fourthorder and spherical aberration (SA) for a 6 mm between two groups (p=0.045, p<0.001, and p<0.001, respectively). In corneal aberrations, there was a significant difference in SA for 4 mm (p=0.001) and 6 mm (p<0.001) pupils between two groups and there were statistically significant differences in total HOAs (p<0.001) and fourth-order aberrations (p<0.001) between two groups for a 6 mm pupil. There was a significant correlation in emmetropia between Q-value and SA in ocular aberrations for 4 mm and 6 mm pupils (r=0.442, p=0.004, and r=0.519, p<0.001) and in corneal aberrations for 4 mm and 6 mm pupils (r=0.358, p=0.023, and r=0.646, p<0.001). No significant correlations were found between Q-value and SA in refractive surgery group. Conclusions: VA in myopic refractive surgery is better than or similar to emmetropia. Nevertheless, the more increasing pupil size is, the more increasing aberrations are. Thus, it could have an influence on the quality of vision at night.

Paeony has pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-bacterial, central inhibitory, gastric secretion inhibition, and antispasmodic activities. In addition, its antioxidant activity and whitening effect being reported, thus it is being explored as raw materials for cosmetics. We compared the changes in the contents of paeoniflorin and paeonol in Peony extracts, depending on the changes of extracting solvents, temperature and time. The HPLC method was set up for simultaneous analysis, the system suitabilities were confirmed by using the calibration curves and the QC samples for each assay batch. Paeonol was detected only in roots, and paeoniflorin was higher in leaf and flower than root. Higher concentrations of both ingredients were extracted when the root was used after grinding to a suitable size, and when 30% 1,3-butylene glycol was used as the extraction solvent. Also the concentrations tended to increase at higher temperature and longer time, but the increase was gradual at over $75^{\circ}C$ and 4 hours. The ratio of root, leaf and flower was determined to be 2+2+1g/0.5kg of batch, reaching the contents criteria of paeoniflorin and paeonol. Finally, we selected as the best extraction condition when the raw materials are mixed with 2+2+1g/0.5kg and extracted with 30% 1,3-butylene glycol as an extraction solvent at $75^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours, considering both the concentrations of two components and the cost of raw materials and manufacturing process, The extraction units were scaled up to 10 kg under this condition.

This research sought to determine the status of the installation and operation of composting facilities of domestic public resource-making facilities and come up with corresponding improvement measures. The composting facilities were the most extensively installed of related facilities with over a 0.5 ton treated volume per day. The monthly and yearly carry-in volume of food waste were found to stand at 1,101.7 tons per day and 930.9 tons per day, thus falling short of the average planned volume of 1,270.9 tons. Many composting facilities, which were installed in areas for which factory registration were not approved, did not get approvals. Composting facilities underwent operation stoppage mainly due to faulty fermentation and crushing equipment. Mainly metals contained in food waste caused faults to the crushing equipment, thus requiring a facility designing against faults and corrosion. The initial water content was found to stand at 50-60%, thus complying with the requirement. However, since the composting food waste had an appropriate mixture of sawdust, food waste, and returned compost, it should meet the initial conditions. For fermentation facilities, the duration time for fermentation was 15 days, and post-fermentation tanks required 21 days of duration time, thus establishing the minimum criteria. However, some facilities did not meet the requirements, taking more time in decomposition, thus suggesting a need to determine the duration time according to facilities. In composting food waste, microorganism-based thermal oxidizer-operated fermentation tanks should be used to ensure an economic operation. On the contrary, 14 out of 25 survey targets heated fermentation tanks in any form. These thermal facilities contain the growth of bacteria, lowering chemical reaction in composting; thus composting facilities should be basically designed to use microorganism-based thermal oxidizers in drying water. An average daily volume of food waste and supplementary materials that was injected in producing compost was 22.8 tons. This volume produced 7.3 tons of compost per day, decreasing 68%. Properties of produced compost were analyzed by its color, absence or presence of remaining decomposition heat, and smell, to assess the quality. As a result, the composting process was not properly installed nor operated in about 50% of composting facilities. Compost should be produced to be soil-friendly.

Purpose: Myocardial perfusion SPECT using $^{201}Tl$ is an important method for viability of left ventricle and quantitative evaluation of cardiac function and now various reconstruction methods are used to improve the image quality. But in case of small sized heart, you should always be careful because of the Partial Volume Effect which may cause errors of quantitative indices at the reconstruction step. So, In this study, we compared those quantitative indices of left ventricle according to the reconstruction method of myocardial perfusion SPECT with the Echocardiography and verified the degree of the differences between them. Materials and Methods: Based on ESV 30 mL of Echocardiography, we divided 278 patients (male;98, female;188, Mean age;$65.5{\pm}11.1$) who visited the Asan medical center from February to September, 2012 into two categories; below the criteria to small sized heart, otherwise, normal or large sized heart. Filtered and output each case, we applied the method of FBP and OSEM to each of them, and calculated EDV, ESV and LVEF, and we conducted statistical processing through Repeated Measures ANOVA with indices that measured in Echocardiography. Results: In case of men and women, there were no significant difference in EDV between FBP and OSEM (p=0.053, p=0.098), but in case of Echocardiography, there were meaningful differences (p<0.001). The change of ESV especially women in small sized heard, significant differences has occurred among FBP, OSEM and Echocardiography. Also, in LVEF, there were no difference in men and women who have normal sized heart among FBP, OSEM and Echocardiography (p=0.375, p=0.969), but the women with small sized heart have showed significant differences (p<0.001). Conclusion: The change in quantitative indices of left ventricle between Nuclear cardiology image reconstruction, no difference has occurred in the patients with normal sized heart but based on ESV, under 30 mL of small sized heart, especially in female, there were significant differences in FBP, OSEM and Echocardiography. We found out that overestimated LVEF caused by PVE can be reduced in average by applying OSEM to all kinds of gamma camera, which are used in analyzing the differences.

Purpose : The biceps femoris tendon (BFT) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in the knee were formerly known to form a conjoined tendon at the fibular attachment site. However, the BFT and LCL are attached into the fibular head in various patterns. We classified insertion patterns of the BFT and LCL using MR imaging, and analyzed whether the LCL attaches to the fibular head or not. Materials and Methods: A total of 494 consecutive knee MRIs of 470 patients taken between July 2012 and December 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. There were 224 males and 246 females, and patient age varied from 10 to 88 (mean, 48.6). The exclusion criteria were previous surgery and poor image quality. Using 3T fat-suppressed proton density-weighted axial images, the fibular insertion patterns of the BFT and LCL were classified into following types: type I (the LCL passes between the anterior arm and direct arm of the BFT's long head), type II (the LCL joins with anterior arm of the long head of the BFT), type III (the BFT and LCL join to form a conjoined tendon), type IV (the LCL passes laterally around the anterior margin of the BFT), and type V (the LCL passes posteriorly to the direct arm of the BFT's long head). Results: Among the 494 cases of the knee MRI, there were 433 (87.65%) type I cases, 21 (4.25%) type II cases, 2 (0.4%) type III cases, 16 (3.23%) type IV cases, and 22 (4.45%) type V cases. There were 26 cases (5.26%) in which the LCL and BFT were not attached into the fibular head. Conclusion: The fibular attachment pattern of the BFT and LCL shows diverse types in MR imaging. The LCL does not adhere to the head in some patients.
Seed size has been considered as an effective criteria for selection of the most vigorous seeds in sorghum [(Sorghum bicolor (L) Moench]. The smaller seeds were inferior to the larger sizes in emergence and grain yield. This study was conducted to determine germination rate, field emergence and vigor of sorghum for selection of high quality seed by different seed size. Sorghum cultivar of two (Hwanggeumchal and Tojong) were separated into five seed size proportion (<2.36, 2.80, 3.15, 3.35 and >3.55 mm diam.) according to seed size. The larger seed was more higher 1,000 seeds weight, seed density, carbohydrates and protein content. Total seed germination performing varied 92% at the largest size (>3.55 mm diam.) frequently inferior to slightly 67% at smaller seed (2.36 to 2.80 mm diam.) in the standard germination test. Seed size did have a significant effect on mean emergence time (MET) and maximum emergence rate index (ERI) and percentage of emergence. It should be noted that the results refer to MET of sorghum seeds ranging from 4.26 to 4.74 days. The relationship of seed size was not only to stand establishment but to grain yield. Yield was most affected by seed size and large seeds were superior to the smaller seed in 25~37% of the cases. Especially, yield was significant under 3.15 mm the beginning.
Purpose : The progressive deterioration of renal function in children can impose a serious and lifelong impact on their lives. The ultimate goal in the management of children with chronic kidney disease(CKD) is to prolong survival, to prevent complications, and to promote growth and neurodevelopment. The aim of this study is to investigate the risk factors for the decline of renal function in pediatric CKD patients. Methods : Data from patients who met the criteria for the Kidney Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative(K/DOQI) CKD stage 2 to 4 between August 1999 and March 2007 were retrospectively analyzed. The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) was calculated by the Schwartz formula, using serum creatinine levels and height. We calculated the annual eGFR change from the difference between the baseline eGFR and the last eGFR divided by the duration(years) of the follow-up period. We analyzed the association between the annual eGFR change and factors such as age, gender, K/DOQI stage, underlying renal disease, serum calcium, and inorganic phosphorous during the follow-up period. Results : Sixty one children(44 boys & 17 girls) were enrolled. The age at entry was $7.1{\pm}4.7$ years. The annual eGFR change was $-1.2{\pm}11.9 mL/min/1.73m^2/year$. Our study showed that older age(P=0.005). hypocalcemia(P=0.012), and hypenhosphatemia(P=0.002) were significantly related to more rapid decline in renal function. Conclusion : In pediatric CKD, older age, hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia are related to more rapid deterioration of renal function.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of beam delivery QA software using the MLC dynalog file, about the VMAT plan with AAPM TG-119 protocol. The Clinac iX with a built-in 120 MLC was used to acquire the MLC dynalog file be imported in MobiusFx(MFX). To establish VMAT plan, Oncentra RTP system was used target and organ structures were contoured in Im'RT phantom. For evaluation of dose distribution was evaluated by using gamma index, and the point dose was evaluated by using the CC13 ion chamber in Im'RT phantom. For the evaluation of point dose, the mean of relative error between measured and calculated value was $1.41{\pm}0.92%$(Target) and $0.89{\pm}0.86%$(OAR), the confidence limit were 3.21(96.79%, Target) and 2.58(97.42%, OAR). For the evaluation of dose distribution, in case of $Delta^{4PT}$, the average percentage of passing rate were $99.78{\pm}0.2%$(3%/3 mm), $96.86{\pm}1.76%$(2%/2 mm). In case of MFX, the average percentage of passing rate were $99.90{\pm}0.14%$(3%/3 mm), $97.98{\pm}1.97%$(2%/2 mm), the confidence limits(CL) were in case of $Delta^{4PT}$ 0.62(99.38%, 3%/3 mm), 6.6(93.4%, 2%/2 mm), in case of MFX, 0.38(99.62%, 3%/3 mm), 5.88(94.12%, 2%/2 mm). In this study, we performed VMAT QA method using dynamic MLC log file compare to binary diode array chamber. All analyzed results were satisfied with acceptance criteria based on TG-119 protocol.
