  • Recent electronic equipment becomes smaller, more functional, and more complex. According to these trends, LTCC(low temperature co-fired ceramic) has been emerged as a promising technology in packaging industry. It consists of multi-layer ceramic sheet, and the circuit has 3D structure. In this technology via hole formation plays an important role because it provides an electric path for the packaging interconnection network. Therefore via hole qualify is very important for ensuring performance of LTCC product. Via holes are formed on the green sheet that consists of ceramic(before sintering) layer and PET(polyethylene terephthalate) one. In this paper we found the correlation between hole quality and process condition such as PET thickness and ceramic thickness. The shear behavior of double layer sheet by micro hole punching which is different from that of single layer one was also discussed.

Contour Extraction of Moving Object using Connectivity of Motion Block (움직임 블록간 연결정보를 이용한 움직임 객체의 윤곽선 추출)

  • This paper proposes a new approach to extract contour of moving object from compressed video stream. We segment the area of moving object by using motion vector and extract the motion object block from it. And then we describe the connectivity direction of outline moving block, detect the edge related to connectivity direction in the block and finally obtain the contour by connecting the edges. This can divide the moving object only with motion vector and detect the exact contour on the basis of the edge automatically. Also, we can reduce spending time using motion block and remove the noise with directional edge. The experimental results demonstrate the accurate and effective qualify of the proposed method.

  • A grid computing environment is one in which applications can be built over multiple resource nodes at widespread geographic locations. Grid environments seek to integrate and enable access to widely distributed compute resources. The compute resources in a grid environment are typically heterogeneous, with varying qualify and availability Hence, how computations are allocated to individual resources is extremely important in the design of a grid. This paper j\ulcorners concerned with resource management for metacomputing. We describe a resource management architecture using the two-level resource broker.

Modification of Polar Echo Kernel for Performance Improvement of Audio Watermarking

  • In this paper, we present a new echo kernel, which is a modification of polar echo kernel. to improve the detection performance and robustness against attacks. Polar echo kernel may take advantage of large detection margin from the polarity of inserted echo signal, but its poor frequency response in low frequency band degrades sound quality. To solve this problem, we applied bipolar echo pulses to the polar echo kernel. Using the proposed echo kernel the distributions of autocepstrum peaks fur data ‘0’ and ‘1’ are located more distant and improvement of detection performance is achieved. It also makes the low frequency band flat so that the timbre difference in the polar echo kernel can be removed to reproduce the imperceptible sound qualify. Informal listening tests as well as robustness test against attacks were performed to evaluate the proposed echo kernel. Experimental results demonstrated the superiority of the proposed echo kernel to both conventional unipolar and polar echo kernels

  • In this paper, we propose an application of data hiding, especially for content adaptation, where one can reduce computational time and get better transcoding results or qualify. Hiding some useful information for content adaptation can help resource tailor to do effective transcoding so that one can achieve lower complexity as well as better quality in content adaptation. Experimental results show that the proposed method based on data hiding gives effectiveness to content adaptation with reasonable subjective quality.

  • In transmitting compressed video bit-stream over Internet, packet loss causes error propagation in both spatial and temporal domain, which in turn leads to severe degradation in image qualify In this paper, a new approach for the recovery of lost or erroneous Motion Vector(MV)s by clustering the movements of neighboring blocks by their homogeneity is proposed. MVs of neighboring blocks are clustered according to ALA(Average Linkage Algorithm) clustering and a representative value for each cluster is determined to obtain the candidate MV set. By computing the distortion of the candidates, a MV with the minimum distortion is selected. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits better performance in many cases than existing methods.

The important factors to provide a pleasant environment for residential-commercial buildings are both common space shared by occupants and the quality of service and the conveniences. These have already become prominent as important factors when choosing a residence. This research manipulates the characteristics of commonly shared space, being an important factor of amenity, in the residential-commercial buildings recently built for sale so that a reference to planning of common space in residential-commercial buildings can be provided for the future.

  • A new optical-resistive voltage divider, which consists of light emitting diode, optic fiber, PIN-photo diode and a high qualify shielding resistive divider, whose total response time is 7.35 [ns], has been obtained. The optical to electrical signal converter was constructed with GaAsP series light emitting diode. The response characteristics have been verified by applying the Marx impulse voltage generator experimentally. Comparing with the performance of conventional resistive voltage divider, the characteristics of the proposed optical-resistive voltage divider are more excellent in step response and less sensitive to electromagnetic interference.

  • High quality $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ thin films have been fabricated by pulsed Nd:YAG laser deposition using an unusual 'off-axis' target-substrate geometry. Various properties of superconducting $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ thin films have been studied systematically as a function of oxygen pressure during the deposition, in both 'on-axis' and the unusual 'off-axis' target substrate geometry. In the 'off-axis' geometry, one can completely eliminate the so-called 'laser droplets' form the thin surface and thus obtain smooth high qualify films. It is found that films with optimum structural and electrical properties are obtained at a lower oxygen pressure range during the 'off-axis' deposition when compared with that required in the 'on-axis' deposition geometry.
