  • In this paper, several bandwidth sampling methods were compared in which contains "multi-order sampling", which was proposed or envelope detections in RF ultrasonic signals by a computer simulation and on experiment quadrature sampling method. The second-order sampling method were compared with it. As a conclusion, a multi-order sampling method, especially 5th order sampling method showed quite good envelope detection property. This means that more economical and quite good performance digital beamforming system can be built by adopting this new bandwidth sampling method.

  • 목적: We has proposed a surface coil which has improved SNR compared with the standard head coil. Usually, a cylindrical head coil provide good homogeneity but less SNR than surface coil. A surface coil has better SNR at the expense of image homogeneity. In this paper, a surface coil of transmit-receive mode offers a better SNR as compared with a head coil.

  • The performances of M-ary signals using L-branch maximum ratio combining (MRC) diversity reception in correlated Nakagami fading channels are derived theoretically. The coherent reception of M-ary differential phase shift keying (MDPSK), phase shift keying (MPSK), and quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) is considered. It is assumed that the fading parameters in each diversity branch are identical. The general formula for evaluating symbol error rate (SER) of M-ary signals in the independent branch diversity system is presented using the integral-form expressions. Until now, results did not extend to the various M-ary case for a coherent reception. The numerical results presented in this paper are expected to provide information for the design of radio system using M-ary modulation method for above mentioned channel environment.

  • Herein, a new space-time block coding technique is proposed for a MIMO 2 × 2 multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) system to minimize the bit error rate (BER) in Rayleigh fading channels with reduced decoding complexity using ZF and MMSE linear detection techniques. The main objective is to improve the service quality of wireless communication systems and optimize the number of antennas used in base stations and terminals. The idea is to exploit the correlation product technique between both information symbols to transmit per space-time block code and their own orthogonal Walsh-Hadamard sequences to ensure orthogonality between both symbol vectors and create a full-rate orthogonal STBC code. Using 16 quadrature amplitude modulation and the quasi-static Rayleigh channel model in the MATLAB environment, the simulation results show that the proposed space-time block code performs better than the Alamouti code in terms of BER performance in the 2 × 2 MIMO system for both cases of linear decoding ZF and MMSE.

  • The importance of indoor positioning has grown in numerous application areas such as emergency response, logistics, and industrial automation. In ships, indoor positioning is also needed to provide services to passengers on board. Due to the complex structure and dynamic nature of ship environments, conventional positioning techniques have limitations in providing accurate positions. Compared to other indoor positioning technologies, Bluetooth 5.1-based indoor positioning technology is highly suitable for ship environments. Bluetooth 5.1 attains centimeter-level positioning accuracy by collecting In-phase and Quadrature (IQ) samples from wireless signals. However, distorted IQ samples can lead to significant errors in the final estimated position. Therefore, we propose an indoor positioning method for ships that utilizes a Deep Neural Network (DNN) combined with IQ fingerprint maps to overcome the challenges associated with accurate location detection within the ship. The results indicate that the accuracy of our proposed method can reach up to 97.76%.

  • We propose a novel fade-free optical fiber interferometric vibration sensor using a simple setup with a 90° optical hybrid. The interferometer consists of all-optical components without the phase modulators and complex demodulation processes that were previously used to compensate for signal fading induced by phase bias change. Fade-free output was successfully obtained by in-phase and quadrature detection with a π/2 phase shifting scheme. Theoretical analysis and measurement results showed that the proposed interferometric vibration sensor operates independently of the phase bias state of interfering waves.

  • Alternative binary offset carrier (AltBOC) signals can be approximated by four synchronized direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals, each pair of which is a quadrature phase shift keyed (QPSK) signal at a different frequency. Therefore, depending on the strength of an incoming AltBOC signal, an acquisition technique can reduce the mean acquisition time (MAT) by searching the four DSSS signals asynchronously; the search for each of the four DSSS signals can start at one of the evenly separated hypotheses on the two-dimensional hypothesis space. And detection sensitivity can be improved by multiple levels when different numbers of search results for the same hypothesis are combined. In this paper, we propose a fast AltBOC acquisition technique that has an asynchronous search strategy and efficiently utilizes the output of the four search results to increase the sensitivity level when sensitivity improvement is needed. We provide a complete theoretical analysis and demonstrate with numerous Monte Carlo simulations that the MAT of the proposed technique is much smaller than conventional AltBOC acquisition techniques.

  • This paper proposes a precision displacement measuring method of detecting fringe movement of interferograms with a nanometric resolution. It is well known that the laser interferometer plays a useful and essential role in scientific and industrial application, but they have such error sources as an unequal gain of detectors, imbalanced beams, and lack of quadrature. These error sources degrade the accuracy of the interferometer. However, the fringe movement of interferograms has little relation with these error sources. In order to investigate performance of the proposed method. analysis and simulation were executed over random noise and wavefront distorion. Results of the simulation show that the proposed method is robust against these errors. Experiment was implemented to verify this method.

  • We developed an electronic lens for acoustic imaging systems, which is linear array with 31 microphones equally spaced with distance 34mm. Resonant frequency fo receiver circuit coupled to microphone is 20 kHz. We arranged 16 microphones horizontally and 15 microphones vertically, so that the array allows us to obtain a 2 dimensional angle of source, and to track the motion of source in real time. Due to the problem of aliasing in discrete Fourier Transfrom, the maximum observable angle of the lens is limited to 15${\circ}$. We also employed quadrature phase detection scheme to adjust the focus. We have tested the acoustic lens with a personal computer in an anechoic room and obtained the results agreed with the acoustic imaging theory.

  • In the conventional pulsed doppler system, gated CW is used to excite a ultrasonic transducer so that a group of linear RF amplifiers are required to excite a ultrasonic array transducer in the scanning pulsed doppler system. A pulsed doppler system without linear high voltage RF amplifiers, which excites the transducer impulsively, is studied theoretically and experimentally. In this paper, an experimental 8-channel pulsed doppler system is implemented, which uses quadrature defection to detect the direction of motion and can compensate the attenuation effect. The designed pulsed doppler system shows the possibility of real time multichannel doppler flow meter.
