  • Mini implants had been used provisionally for the healing period of implants in the beginning. But it becomes used for the on-going purpose, because it is simple to use, economic and especially suitable for the overdenture. But there is few studies about the stability of mini implants, that is most important factor for the on-going purpose, and particularly the implant parameters affecting the initial stability. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the stress and the strain distribution pattern of immediate-loaded screw type orthodontic mini-implant and the parameters affecting the initial stability of immediate-loaded mini-implant. Two dimensional finite element models were made and contact non-linear finite element analysis was performed. The magnitude and distribution of Von Mises stresses were evaluated. The obtained results were as follows: 1. The stress was concentrated on the thread tip of an implant in the cortical bone. 2. The direction of load is the most important factor for the stress distribution in cortical bone. 3. The diameter of an implant is the most important factor for the stress distribution in the trabecular bone. In conclusion, if the horizontal load vector is successfully controlled, mini-implants, which diameter is under 3mm, can be used for the on-going purpose.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adaptation of light cured dentin bonding agents to tooth structure by measuring contraction gaps on interfaces between cavity wall and composite resin under SEM study. In this study, class V cavities with cementum margin were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 15 extracted human premolar teeth and teeth were randomly assigned 3 groups of 5 teeth each. The cavities were filled with three dentin bonding agents and two composite resins were investigated for this study: three dentin bonding agents; Scotchbond 2, Scotchbond Multi-Purpose. All-Bond 2, two composite resins; Silux Pius, Z-100. Group 1 : Scotchbond 2 + Silux Plus Group 2 : Scotchbond Multi~Purpose + Z-100 Group 3 : All-Bond 2 + Z-100 The restored teeth were stored in 100% relative humidity at $37^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. And then, the roots of the teeth were removed with the tapered fissure bur and the remaining crowns were sectioned occlusogingivally through the center of restorations. Adaptation at tooth-restoration interface was assesed occlusally, gingivally, and axially by scanning electron microscope. The results were as follows : 1. In Group 1, the adaptation to dentinal wall of Scotchbond 2 was poor, but the adaptation to enamel wall of Scotchbond 2 was excellent. 2. In Group 2, the adaptation to occlusal was axial wall and gingival wall of Scotchbond Multi-Purpose was excellent. Especially in axially wall, the dentin bonding agents infiltrated into dentinal tubules and there was excellent adaptation to dentinal wall. 3. In Group 3, the adaptation to occlusal wall and axial wall of All-Bond 2 was excellent. But in gingival wall, there was gap formation between composite resin and dentin bonding agent.

  • The Korea Water Resources Corporation(KOWACO) proposed bidding for an alternative design for Hwabuk Multi-purpose Dam in March of 2004. The site is located in Hakseong-ri, Goro-myeon, Gunwi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do and has adrainage area of $87.52km^2$. The purpose of this project is to establish an environmentally friendly plan for minimizing the damage that was caused by the construction of the Hwabuk Multi-purpose Dam. The design principle of KOWACO was the restoration of the natural environment, a harmonious landscape, and the creation of a space of regional and local culture. The basic concept of this project involves an ecological-restoration axis and a functional-connection axis. The site is divided into four spaces: (1) the space of memory and symbol, (2) the space of nature and ecology, (3) the space of regional and local culture, and (4) the space of the regional economy. There are four sub-spaces in the space of memory and symbol: the track forest, the time forest, the memory room, and the sun plaza. There are three sub-spaces in the space of nature and ecology: the habitat of aquatic birds, the wind forest, and the eco-corridor. There are five themed parks in the space of regional and local culture: the culture and relic room, the wildflower garden, the ecological pond, the insect observation park, and the pyogo maze. There are three areas in the space of the regional economy: the forest pension, the waterside pension, and the community center, as Dungdungi village was reorganized to serve as a lodging complex. These themed parks, working together, can offer an effective space for nature, culture, rest, and experience.

  • Electronic Navigational Charts(ENCs) are a database for the use of supporting the safety of navigation in marie voyage embedded within the navigational information in the Electronic Chart Display & Information System(ECDIS). Recently IMO made a decision on the mandatory equipment resolution of ECDIS for the international SOLAS vessels until 2018. With this regulation intention together the spontaneous uses from the wide range of marine applications are accelerating the increasing demand for ENCs at both of the navigational purpose and the non-navigational purpose. But there seems to be not enough guidelines or systematic approach for the service of the non navigational purpose. This paper deals with ENCs distribution issues. We present a integrated solution for the ENCs service of both user domains and also demonstrate the implemented results.

  • The purpose of the present study was to compare and analyze the differential effects of in-vehicle electronic device usage types(searching for targeted destinations in navigational purpose, watching TV in entertain purpose, and dialing a cellular-phone in phone-usage purpose) on driver's front-to-rear-end collision avoidance behavior, and to find effective collision warning format for this behavior. The result indicated that (1) the drivers showed more impaired collision avoidance performances when they were asked to search the name of targeted destination than the other task requirements, and (2) auditory warning appeared to be most effective among the other types of warning. In particular, it was suggested that the "Visual-Only" collision warning could induce most undesirable result when the drivers were engaged in both visual and auditory information processing.

  • Under the revision of medical law on February 1, 2012, health care providers are banned from opening 2 or more medical institutions and being involved in managing the institutions. However, purpose of the legislation of the revised law is unclear and even confirmation of such purpose of the legislation based on the calculation of multiple legislative backgrounds cannot be appropriate means of achieving such purposes. This article confirms and reviews the development of revision of medical law and history of the principle of 'one person-one medical institution', and legislative purpose of the revised medical law as well as examines unconstitutionality of such revision based on limited fundamental rights by the revision, principle of clarity, and principle of the prohibition of excessive restriction.

  • Hovenia dulcis var. koreana Nakai, the oriental raisin tree, has been considered not only fruit but an herbal medicine in East Asia including Korea, Japan and east China. As honey plant, value of this species had been rising steadily. The aim of this study was conducted to develop the propagation technique by scion collection time, scion age and vinyl house on survival rate of H. dulcis. The survival rate by veneer grafting showed no significant differences among 3 new cultivars. The scion collection at the northern temperature zone was observed to be the most appropriate time before the spring equinox when the plants are fully dormant. Especially, the installation of vinyl house showed 86% survival rate by veneer grafting. The scion age was effective 1 year shoot than 2 years shoot for increase the grafting survival rate. In this case, the installation of vinyl house can contribute above 80%.

  • Purpose: Age estimation is often used in the identification of living persons. Various methods are used for age estimation using teeth, and there are many studies on the methodology. But the study of changes in the social aspects of age estimation with the passage of times is still insufficient. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the age estimation cases in the social aspects and to investigate the changes of age estimation cases in Jeollabuk-do. Methods: From January 2008 to December 2015, 76 cases of age estimation were collected. The collected data were organized and analyzed. The distribution of patients by age and year, the difference between alleged and registered age, the purpose of age estimation, and regional distribution were examined. In addition, we compared the previous study which analyzed the age estimation cases in Jeollabuk-do from 2000 to 2007. Results: According to the distribution by age, the age distribution was the largest in the 50s and 60s, with 69.8%. The most reason to correct age was related to welfare benefits (38.2%), and most of the people who corrected for welfare benefits were over 50 years old. The age correction for purpose of welfare benefits existed every year during the study period. As the result of comparison with previous study, total number of age estimation cases was decreased very sharply, and distribution by age group was also changed. Conclusions: Changes in age estimation cases were observed when compared to the previous study. A significant decrease in the total number of age estimation cases was observed, but the number of age estimation in the 50s did not decrease. Although the total number of age estimation requests decreases, age estimation in the elderly are likely to persist. Thus, it is necessary to study new age estimation methods suitable for the elderly.
