Development of Nitrogen Supply System for Launch Complex of KSLV-I (KSLV-I 발사대 질소공급시스템 개발)

  • For the launch preparation of KSLV-I, gaseous nitrogen with various level of pressure and cryogenic liquid nitrogen are required. Nitrogen Supply System on launch complex has been developed to perform the production of high pressure gaseous nitrogen, the production of gaseous nitrogen with temperature of $273{\pm}2K$ for protection purge of launch vehicle after loading of propellant and the supply of cryogenic liquid nitrogen for cooling of fuel (kerosene) and oxidizer (liquid oxygen). The operational instability of vaporizer mainly caused by its heat transfer characteristics which sensitively depends on the atmospheric conditions was removed by introducing parallel installation of two vaporizer and their switching operation. The developed Nitrogen Supply System carried out its function successfully in preparation of KSLV-I flight tests.

  • PEM Fuel Cell operation mode can be classified into dead-end mode or open mode by whether the outlet port is blocked or not. Generally, dead-end type fuel cell has some merits on the pressure drop and system efficiency because it can generate more power than the open type fuel cell due to high operating pressure condition. However, the periodic purging process should be done for removing water which is formed as product of a reaction in the gas diffusion layer. In this study, cathode side dead-end type operation has been conducted. Moreover, pulsating flow generator at the outlet of cathode side has been suggested for increasing the period to purge the formed water because the pulsating flow can make formed water scattered uniformly over the whole channel. As a result, the purging period with pulsation increased by 1.5-2 times longer than that without pulsating.

  • Small PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell systems do not require humidification and have great commercialization possibilities. However, methods for controlling small PEM fuel cell stacks have not been clearly established. In this paper, a control method for small PEM fuel cell systems using a dual closed loop with a static feedforward structure is defined and realized using a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The fundamental elements that need to be controlled in fuel cell systems include the supply of air and hydrogen, water management inside the stack, and heat management of the stack. For small PEM fuel cell stacks operated without a separate humidifier, fans are essential for air supply, heat management, and water management of the stack. A purge valve discharges surplus water from the stack. The proposed method controls the fan using double control loops to quicken transient response of the fan thereby improving the supply rate of air. Feedback control to compensate for the voltage change in fuel cell stack improves the response characteristics in fuel cell to load variations. The feasibility of proposed method was proved by the experiments with a 60W small PEM fuel cell system and operation of a notebook computer using this system.

  • Ozonic use of sterilization and heat treatment of raw material to extend the conservation period of food recently is increased by hard vegetable or microorganism sterilization purpose of fruit. This research ran parallel a sterilization experiment of E.coli colitis germs by ozone that manufacture ozonizer that use doped diamond maund electrode (BDD) by boron and searched special quality electrochemistry enemy of the ozonizer and is created. After cultivate E.coli colitis germs during 37C 1 day is LB ship, after do ozonation, was sterilized more than 90% by ozone as result that examine disinfection effect by substance microscope and could confirm excellency of diamond electrode.

Development of Inhabitant Participation Index for the Village Environment Improvement (마을환경개선을 위한 주민참여지표개발)

  • A purpose of this study is to develop practical indexes for improving a village environment in Kyongbuk, Korea. From a questionnaire survey of the public employees (71 persons) who take charge of the environment in Kyongbuk province, the indexes were produced and the contents of questionnaire consisted of preferential and supplementary indexes to apply. The preferential indexes which apply to an agricultural village and a stock raising village are environmental sanitation facilities, a hygienic check of livestock and a purge of livestock shed's surroundings. In case of mountainous village, and natural-ecological village the preferential indexes are habitat reservation for wildlife, poaching prohibition (monitoring for it), and food supplement for livestock. To the traditional-cultural village, prevention of noise pollution, environmental sanitation facilities, and a monitoring or water quality change are the prior indexes in order. For the village near city and the industrial village the preferential indexes are patrol removing of garbage, pollution index planting and monitoring for noise pollution. For a fishing village and a village fronting waterside excess uses of agricultural chemicals, monitoring for a water quality change, and realignment of green house with vinyl and warehouse. In conclusion the research presents the practical and preferential index for residents to improve their environment in accordance with village settings and suggests guidelines for further research.

건식 진공펌프의 상태진단을 위한 PMS 프로그램 개발

  • 본 논문은 반도체 및 평판 디스플레이 생산공정에서 가동되고 있는 건식 진공펌프들의 정밀 상태진단 및 예지 보수를 위한 pump monitoring system (PMS)의 제품화에 필요한 프로그램의 개발 내용을 소개한다. 본 연구에서 소개하는 건식 진공펌프들의 정밀 상태진단 및 예지보수기법은 PCT 특허 2 건으로 이미 등록된 내용이며, 본 논문은 이들 기법의 실제 구현에서 직면하는 기술적 문제점과 극복 방안을 제시한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 반도체 공정에 사용되고 있는 건식 진공펌프들로부터 측정하는 다중 상태변수들의 조사 결과를 소개한다. 이들 상태변수 측정치들이 갖는 개략적 특성을 통계적 분포함수로 분석한 결과를 우선 보인다. 특히 펌프 구동모터들의 소비 전류신호는 두 평균값에 대한 분포 즉 두 종의 분포함수를, 그리고 온도, purge gas 유량, 배기구 압력 등은 정상적 평균값에 대한 한나의 분포를 보였다. 따라서 구동모터들의 소비전류의 분포 즉 두 상하 수준('low and high' current level)에 따라 batch data를 구분하는 방법의 개발이 필요하였다. 본 연구에서는 step 함수형 eigenvector를 적용하여 소비전류 신호의 상하수준 천이 영역과 방향을 동시에 인식할 수 있는 기법을 개발 적용하였으며, 3300회의 배출가스 부하에 변화에 대한 천이 영역과 방향을 인식에 하나의 실패도 보이지 않음을 확인하였다. 기존의 측정 상태변수에는 회전기계류의 정밀 상태진단 및 예지보수에 핵심적인 기계진동 측정용 진동센서를 포함하고 있지 않은 기술적 문제점이 발견되었다. 기존 진동센서들의 높은 가격 뿐 아니라 진동센서의 출력신호를 저/중/고역 주파수 대역의 실효치로 환산하는 기술적 한계 때문에 진공펌프 상태진단에 아직 사용하고 있지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 진동선서 비용의 저감화 방안뿐 아니라 로터 회전 대역(250Hz 이하 저주파 영역), 베어링 진동 대역(250 Hz~2.5 kHz의 중간 주파수 영역), 그리고 기어 진동 대역(2.5 kHz~10 kHz 주파수 영역)별 실효치를 실 시간 측정할 수 있는 진동측정 모듈의 제품화 모델을 개발하였다. 개발 제품의 성능 뿐 아니라 현장 시험결과를 소개한다. 마지막으로 본 연구팀이 개발한 PCT 특허 2 건에 포함된 건식 진공펌프들의 정밀 상태진단 및 예지보수기법에 대한 현장 시험결과를 간략히 소개한다.

Fabrication and Characterization of Enzyme Electrode for Lactate Fuel Cell (젖산 연료전지용 효소전극 제작 및 특성 분석)

  • The study aimed to develop a high-power enzymatic electrode for a wearable fuel cell that generates electricity utilizing lactate present in a sweat as fuel. Anode was fabricated by immobilizing lactate oxidase (LOx) on flexible carbon paper. As the lactate concentration in the electrolyte solution increased, the amount of current generated by catalysis of lactate oxidase increased. The immobilized LOx generated 1.5-times greater oxidation current density in the presence of gold nanoparticles than carbon paper only. Bilirubin oxidase (BOD)-immobilized cathode generated a larger amount of reduction current in the electrolyte saturated with oxygen than purged with nitrogen. A fuel cell composed of two electrodes was fabricated and cell voltage was measured under different discharge current. At the discharge current density of 66.7 ㎂/cm2, the cell voltage was 0.5±0.0 V leading to maximum cell power density of 33.8±2.5 ㎼/cm2.

Antioxidant Activities of Eggplant (Solanum melongena) Powder with Different Drying Methods and Addition Levels to Pork Sausages

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate antioxidant activities of eggplant (EP) powder with different drying methods and addition levels to pork sausages to improve product quality. Antioxidant activities of EP with different drying methods, particle sizes, and solvents of extraction were determined. Freeze dried (FD) EP extracted with 100% ethanol had higher 2,2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl radical-scavenging activities (DPPH-RSA) and total phenolic content (TPC) values than other drying methods. FD500 had the highest iron chelating ability (ICA) value. Oven-dried (OD) EP at 60℃ had the highest reducing power. Dried EP was added to sausages of six groups: control without EP, reference added with ascorbic acid, O1 and O2 added with 0.25% and 0.5% OD EP, respectively, and F1 and F2 added with 0.25% and 0.5% FD EP, respectively. Pork sausages added with O2 had the lowest TBARS and TPC values. These values increased during storage. Purge loss (%), lightness (L*), and redness (a*) values of F2 were lower than those of other groups, whereas sausages containing F2 had the highest yellowness (b*). pH values of sausages added with EP were increased regardless of the level of EP added. Hardness values of F2 were higher. However, there were no significant differences in other textural characteristics. Sausages added with EP had higher moisture and protein contents (%), but lower fat contents (%). These results indicate that EP powder could be used to retard lipid oxidation and inhibit microbial counts during storage time.

Influences of Aging Methods and Temperature on Meat Quality of Pork Belly from Purebred Berkshire and Crossbred Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc (LYD) Pigs

  • We studied effects of aging methods and temperature on the physical, chemical, and amino acid composition of pork belly from Berkshire and Landrace×Yorkshire×Duroc (LYD) swine. Pork belly samples were assigned randomly to breed groups (Berkshire and LYD), aging temperature groups (0℃ and 9℃), and aging method groups. One samples of vacuum-packaged hanging pork bellies were hung in a refrigerated cooler with 83±2.0% humidity, while the other samples were immersed in a 3.5% salt solution in a vacuum package and subsequently stored in the same cooler for 2 weeks. LYD pork had lower pH and purge loss and higher lightness values than those of Berkshire pork (p<0.05). Moreover, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances and hardness values of LYD pork were lower than those of Berkshire pork after aging (p<0.05). Berkshire pork had a higher level of flavorful amino acids than LYD pork did during aging (p<0.05). Bellies aged at elevated temperatures for two weeks had higher volatile basic nitrogen. However, significantly higher percentages of flavorful and sweet taste amino acids were observed in bellies aged at 9℃ compared to those aged at 0℃ for 2 weeks. Moisture content was higher in immersed samples than hanging samples after two weeks of aging (p<0.05). Hanging pork bellies exhibited higher texture profiles than immersed pork bellies at two weeks (p<0.05). We concluded that breeds, aging temperature, and methods affected most quality attributes of pork belly.
