  • To derive implication for marketing strategy for Korean cosmetic products in China, an analysis was conducted on the difference in quality perception and purchase behavior between two groups of Chinese women classified by their awareness of Korean Wave. Analytical methods including k-means clustering method, independent samples t-test, factor analysis were applied on the survey results of Chinese women residing in Guangzhou city. The positive impact of Korean Wave on quality perception and brand image is much stronger for higher awareness group, compared against for lower awareness group, that leads to higher product satisfaction and willingness to recommend purchases. Thus, marketing strategies need to be adjusted based on the difference in customers awareness of Korean Wave. However, the low price is the primary inducement for purchases for both groups, increased efforts to enhance brand image and product quality as premium products is strongly required, together with the utilization of Koran Wave.

The data were divided into three groups based on the average score of summated market maven's scale, and the high group was referred to as "market mavens." Results suggested that the market mavens existed in the fashion retailing market and presented the differences from the other two groups. The market maven group spent more and purchased more fashion items than the other groups. With respect to shopping behavior, the market maven group was more likely to browse and bargain hunt when shopping, and showed higher mean scores on impulse buying and overall satisfaction. • More sales of food and beverage coupons have been made using SNS on social commerce recently. If one buys coupons on social commerce, he/she can enjoy products at a lower price; however, there are drawbacks that one must consider such as location, service hours, and discount rate. Thus, this paper suggests a system that recommends food and beverage coupons on social commerce for users that considers a user's personal context of location, time, and purchase history. In order to reflect a user's context awareness and continuous preference, this paper suggests a method based on the Bayesian network. In order to reflect personalized weighting on the standard of coupon selection to match a user's preference, a measurement and classification of weighting preferences is performed on the basis of AHP. 20 experiments in one month involving 12 students were carried out to verify the effectiveness of the system, resulting in an 80% satisfaction level.

  • As social network service becomes common, the consumers use many discount coupons with which they can purchase goods via social commerce. Although, the quantities of coupons offered from social commerce are currently on the sharp increase, customized coupon service that reflects user preference is not offered. This paper proposes a coupon service method reflecting user's subjective inclination targeting food coupons to offer customized coupon service for social commerce. Towards this end, this paper conducts hierarchization of the factors that become standard in selecting coupons including food types, food prices, discount rates and the number of buyers. And then, this study classifies, extracts and offers the coupons using Fuzzy-AHP, a decision making support method that reflects subjective inclination. From the user satisfaction results on the extracted coupons, the users are generally satisfied: very satisfactory with 45%, satisfactory with 33% and fair with 22%, and there was no experiment participant, who was dissatisfied.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the characteristics of consumption vision related to the apparel buying decision-making. They propose that consumers form mental images of future consumption situations and that these consumption visions influence their decision-making. Consumers can imagine themselves consuming apparel products and experiencing the consequences of this consumption. By imagining the likely outcomes, they are able to identify the salient characteristics of each alternative and develop beliefs about their outcomes. Also, they can experience affective reactions to the outcomes they imagines. In this way, they form the cognitive and affective basis for their preferences and construct several consumption visions in the apparel buying decision-making. A consumption vision is "a visual image of certain product-related behaviors and their consequences....(they consisted of concrete and vivid mental images that enable consumers to vicariously experience the self-relevant consequences of product use"(Walker & Olson, 1994). We conducted unstructured, depth interviews with 9 groups participating 48 students at universities located in Busan, based on the results of previous studies. The results show that consumption visions related to the apparel buying decision-making are characterized as self-image, reactions of others, affection and mood, visual imagine, and self-satisfaction. By constructing consumption visions based on the various perspectives, consumers are influenced in the apparel buying decision-making. Many subjects reported experiencing positive affect when imagining positive outcomes of product use. Other subjects mentioned using consumption visions for purely hedonic reasons. With no intention of purchasing apparel products, consumers may evoke consumption visions to escape from the daily life, to fantasize and daydream about pleasurable consumption situations, and to enhance the mood. That is, the consumption vision related to the apparel buying decision-making helps consumers anticipate an uncertain future and make the purchase of apparel products.

  • This study analyzes consumers preferences and price sensitivity when buying domestic wine. Data were collected from the consumers (n=200) living in Daegu, Korea. Statistical analyses evaluated purchase, frequency, perceptual mapping, and price sensitivity measurement (PSMs) using SPSS software. Among three domestic wines, ice wine (Vin Coree) attracted most customer satisfaction. The second most popular wine was a white wine (Vin Coree) and the third was a red wine (Royal Campbell). The colors of the red and white wines were highly valued, and bottle design was reported to be the best feature of ice wine. Red wine needs to increase in price and to improve in quality because the price is lower than the point of marginal cheapness. White wine should be reduced in price because the price is higher than the optimal pricing point. The price of ice wine is equal to the point of marginal expensiveness; Thus, the price of ice wine should be reduced.
