  • Recently, Sun et el. proposed a three-party authenticated key exchange protocol using the public key of the server and the derived verifier from the Password of a user. This paper proposes a password-based three-party authenticated key exchange protocol using smartcards. Since the proposed protocol has very low computation cost by using XOR and hash function operation instead of the public key operation, and reduces the count of message transmission to 20% compared with the protocol of Sun et el., it can execute an effective authenticated key exchange. Furthermore, the proposed protocol is safe from password guessing attack by not saving passwords in the server, and it is also safe from server compromise attack because the server cannot know the shared session key between the two users.

  • Leakage of secret keys may be the most devastating problem in public key cryptosystems because it means that all security guarantees are missing. The forward security mechanism allows users to update secret keys frequently without updating public keys. Meanwhile, it ensures that an attacker is unable to derive a user's secret keys for any past time, even if it compromises the user's current secret key. Therefore, it offers an effective cryptographic approach to address the private key leakage problem. As an extension of the forward security mechanism in certificate-based public key cryptography, forward-secure certificate-based signature (FS-CBS) has many appealing merits, such as no key escrow, no secure channel and implicit authentication. Until now, there is only one FS-CBS scheme that does not employ the random oracles. Unfortunately, our cryptanalysis indicates that the scheme is subject to the security vulnerability due to the existential forgery attack from the malicious CA. Our attack demonstrates that a CA can destroy its existential unforgeability by implanting trapdoors in system parameters without knowing the target user's secret key. Therefore, it is fair to say that to design a FS-CBS scheme secure against malicious CAs without lying random oracles is still an unsolved issue. To address this problem, we put forward an enhanced FS-CBS scheme without random oracles. Our FS-CBS scheme not only fixes the security weakness in the original scheme, but also significantly optimizes the scheme efficiency. In the standard model, we formally prove its security under the complexity assumption of the square computational Diffie-Hellman problem. In addition, the comparison with the original FS-CBS scheme shows that our scheme offers stronger security guarantee and enjoys better performance.

  • PKI-based public key scheme is outstanding in terms of authenticity and privacy. Nevertheless its application brings big burden due to the certificate/key management. It is difficult to apply it to limited computing devices in WSN because of its high encryption complexity. The Bilinear Pairing emerged from the original IBE to eliminate the certificate, is a future significant cryptosystem as based on the DDH(Decisional DH) algorithm which is significant in terms of computation and secure enough for authentication, as well as secure and faster. The practical EC Weil Pairing presents that its encryption algorithm is simple and it satisfies IND/NM security constraints against CCA. The Random Oracle Model based IBE PKG is appropriate to the structure of our target system with one secret file server in the operational perspective. Our work proposes modification of the Weil Pairing as proper to the closed network for secret file distribution[2]. First we proposed the improved one computing both encryption and message/user authentication as fast as O(DES) level, in which our scheme satisfies privacy, authenticity and integrity. Secondly as using the public key ID as effective as PKI, our improved IBE variant reduces the key exposure risk.

  • Nowadays, all over the world's banks use internet banking through various authentication methods. Although there are strong authentication methods using OTP (One Time Password), there still has vulnerability from sophisticated attacks such as MITM (Man In The Middle). This letter proposes signing-based authentication protocol that copes with attacks, such as MITB (Man In The Browser), and provides non-repudiation function. The protocol shows generic method to prevent the sophisticated attacks through connecting advantages from OTP and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) certificate, and that can be deployed to various extended form in internet banking.

  • Certificateless public key cryptography (CL-PKC) is a new benchmark in modern cryptography. It not only simplifies the certificate management problem of PKC, but also avoids the key escrow problem of the identity based cryptosystem (ID-PKC). In this article, we propose a certificateless blind signature protocol which is based on elliptic curve cryptography (CLB-ECC). The scheme is suitable for the wireless communication environment because of smaller parameter size. The proposed scheme is proven to be secure against attacks by two different kinds of adversaries. CLB-ECC is efficient in terms of computation compared to the other existing conventional schemes. CLB-ECC can withstand forgery attack, key only attack, and known message attack. An e-cash framework, which is based on CLB-ECC, has also been proposed. As a result, the proposed CLB-ECC scheme seems to be more effective for applying to real life applications like e-shopping, e-voting, etc., in handheld devices.

  • Currently, various types of user authentication methods based on public certificates are used in domestic financial transactions. Such an authorized certificate method has a problem that a different security module must be installed every time a user connects an individual financial company to a web server. Also, the financial company relying on this authentication method has a problem that a new security module should be additionally installed for each financial institution whenever a next generation authentication method such as biometric authentication is newly introduced. In order to solve these problems, we propose an integrated authentication system that handles user authentication on behalf of each financial institution in financial transactions, and proposes an integrated authentication protocol that handles secure user authentication between user and financial company web server. The new authentication protocol is a modified version of OAuth2.0 that increases security and efficiency. It is characterized by performing a challenge-response protocol with a pre-shared secret key between the authentication server and the financial company web server. This gives users a convenient and secure Single Sign-On (SSO) effect.

  • This paper is to suggest the secure secret sharing system in order to outstandingly reduce the damage caused by the leakage of the corporate secret. This research system is suggested as efficient P2P distributed system kept from the centrally controlled server scheme. Even the bitcoin circulation system is also based on P2P distribution scheme recenly. This research has designed the secure circulation of the secret shares produced by Threshold Shamir Secret Sharing scheme instead of the shares specified in the torrent file using the simple, highly scalable and fast transferring torrent P2P distribution structure and its protocol. In addition, this research has studied to apply both Shamir Threshold Secret Sharing scheme and the securely strong multiple user authentication based on Collaborative Threshold Autentication scheme. The secure transmission of secret data is protected as using the efficient symmetric encryption with the session secret key which is safely exchanged by the public key encryption. Also it is safer against the leakage because the secret key is effectively alive only for short lifetime like a session. Especially the characteristics of this proposed system is effectively to apply the threshold secret sharing scheme into efficient torrent P2P distributed system without modifying its architecture of the torrent system. In addition, this system guaranttes the confidentiality in distributing the secret file using the efficient symmetric encryption scheme, which the session key is securely exchanged using the public key encryption scheme. In this system, the devices to be taken out can be dynamically registered as an user. This scalability allows to apply the confidentiality and the authentication even to dynamically registerred users.

  • Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) have become increasingly significant in intelligent transportation systems, they play a great role in improving traffic safety and efficiency. In the deployment of intelligent VANETs, intelligent vehicles can efficiently exchange important or urgent traffic information and make driving decisions. Meanwhile, secure data communication and vehicle's identity privacy have been highlighted. To cope with these security issues, in this paper, we construct an efficient anonymous authentication scheme with secure communication in intelligent VANETs. Combing the ElGamal encryption technique with a modified Schnorr signature technique, the proposed scheme provides secure anonymous authentication process for encrypted message in the vehicle-to-infrastructure communication model, and achieves identity privacy, forward security, and reply attack resistance simultaneously. Moreover, except the trusted authority (TA), any outside entity cannot trace the real identity of an intelligent vehicle. The proposed scheme is designed on an identity-based system, which can remove the costs of establishing public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificates management. Compared with existing authentication schemes, the proposed scheme is much more practical in intelligent VANETs.

  • This paper proposes a new authentication model to solve the problem of personal information takeover and personal information theft by service providers using centralized servers for user authentication and management of personal information. The centralization issue is resolved by providing user authentication and information storage space through a decentralize platform, blockchain, and ensuring confidentiality of information through user-specific symmetric key encryption. The proposed model was implemented using the public-blockchain Ethereum and the web-based wallet extension MetaMask, and users access the Ethereum main network through the MetaMask on their browser and store their encrypted personal information in the Smart Contract. In the future, users will provide their personal information to the service provider through their Ethereum Account for the use of the new service, which will provide user authentication and personal information without subscription or a new authentication process. Service providers can reduce the costs of storing personal information and separate authentication methods, and prevent problems caused by personal information leakage.
