Increasing the number of unicorn startups has recently received much attention. In this study, we attempt to investigate that startups achieving an extremely high valuation could postpone their exit to raise more investment and receive more benefits. This study tested the hypotheses using data from Crunchbase, World Bank, Global Competitiveness Report, and Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. Using 140 unicorn startups that have already exited through an initial public offering (IPO) or mergers and acquisitions (M&A), we find out that unicorn startups tend to acquire higher valuation as their investment duration increases. Furthermore, we also examined the moderating effects of governmental policy and institutional distance from foreign investors in order to consider the institutional aspects of startups. The results of the moderating variables show significant supports. We expect to provide a better understanding with respect to making an exit decision of unicorn startups. Furthermore, managers and investors need to acknowledge the institutional factors of startups when they decide to fund.

For successful privatization of environmental facility, a sound environmental policy is required to satisfy social motivation and economic. The primary purpose of environmental facility is not profit, but to supply a good quality service, an efficient management tool is needed to run the facility. In foreign countries, the privatization policy was originally based on the principle of complete competition achieving economic effiency. There were efficient cooperation and division of labor between civillian and public sector. First of all, the local government had independant budget. But, we found that the environmental facility have two important problems, the first is low effiency of operation and the second is comsumed to government finances as a homemade rate 50% in the technic application For a successful privatization of the environmental facility, The law of private capital introduction should be amended to promote fund raising. There are some other strategies ; overcoming of Nimbyism, research development of the privatization, field trip to the successful foreign environmental facilities. To support an efficient privatization policy, the environmental budget should be managed by cost-benefit analysis.

Nepal is a landlocked mountainous country in South Asia, located between China to the north and India to the south, east, and west. As such, wastewater management has become one of the most significant problems in urban area of Nepal. In Nepal, the centralized wastewater treatment systems were dysfunctional due to high cost of operation, discontinuous power supply, lack of proper maintenance and proper technical workforce to address the issues. As such, constructed wetlands (CW) were applied to treat various secondary wastewater as alternative to wastewater treatment facilities. Generally, efficiency and sustainability of CW technology depends on proper operation and maintenance and active community involvement. This study summarizes information about 26 CW in Nepal. Specifically, factors including data banking, removal efficiency, quality of discharged water, compliance to water quality standard of Nepal and operation and maintenance were investigated. Considering removal efficiency per pollutant, Ka-1 achieved the greatest reduction for most pollutant followed by B-1, L-3, Ka-5 and K-1. Nepal has practiced CW technology for more than 2 decades but currently, development of technology was interrupted by the inefficient performance of existing facilities. Public awareness about the technology, natural disaster, unavailability of specified substrate materials, lack of fund for further research and experiments has hindered the expansion of technology. In spite of these concerns, CW was still proven as an alternative solution to the present wastewater problems in urban areas of Nepal.
The Individual Retirement Pension (IRP) enables workers to continuously receive a retirement pension even when workers change their jobs in different companies and so it performs a bridge fund as the complimentary living expenses until they receive government public pension. Although the Korean government has forced workers to maintain an IRP account until their retirement age and to close their accounts only when they want to do so, it is not clear to measure its really effectiveness and, in fact, most of IRP accounts have been terminated immediately after the changes of their jobs. In this respect, IRP has not performed the bridge role for the future retirement pension income. We provide an economic decision-making model of both government and workers, where the retirement benefits related with the IRP are explicitly considered. Our model is required to select specific severance pay systems to maximize the income security and stability for their future old ages. It is concluded that the need of workers on the severance pay system is automatically revealed into the switch to IRP when workers are out from their current jobs, which is equivalent to the effect of gradually unifying the dual system of the retirement payment. In additoin, our empirical data indicates the relatively higher probability of termination on IRP for the older male workers having the more retirement deposit.
The purpose of this study was to examine the needs of dental hygiene students at a lifelong education center of a three-year-course college for a credit bank system. The subjects in this study were 200 dental hygiene students at a college located in J, which offered courses of a credit bank system. A survey was conducted from May 19 to 23, 2008, to gather data on the acquisition of a bachelor's degree and the credit bank system, and the answer sheets from 184 respondents(92%) were collected. After the collected data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 12.0 program, the following findings were given: 1. In regard to an intention of taking a bachelor's degree, the largest number of the students investigated(74.5%) intended to do that if they had any chance. As for the reason, 55.6% wanted to get the degree in pursuit of their own personal development. 2. Concerning how to win a bachelor's degree, the largest group that accounted for 63.0% preferred the credit bank systems of college lifelong education centers. 41.8% got interested in the credit bank system mainly because their acquaintances informed them of it. It shows that colleges should reinforce publicity activities if they want to offer the credit bank system. 3. The quality of educational programs and cost had an impact on the choice of an educational institution when they planned to get a bachelor's degree from the credit bank system. Therefore excellent educational programs should be provided, and the government should provide learners with economic help and fund educational institutions. 4. As to comparison of a regular college and the credit bank system as a way to get a bachelor's degree, that was considered to be helpful for finding a job(a mean of 3.39) and for the development of sociability(3.22). That was also deemed to be of use for the improvement of practical job performance, to win public recognition and to be helpful for being well-cultivated, though not many students had those opinions. They took a different view according to academic year(p<.05). 5. Regarding the expected effects of getting a degree from the credit bank system, the greatest group expected it to step up their personal development(3.85). The second largest group expected it to boost job efficacy(3.30), and the students whose academic year was higher had a better opinion. 6. As for future directions for the credit bank system, the largest group put emphasis on the improvement of social perception through intensive P.R. and the enhancement of the qualifications of professors and lecturers(4.02). These opinions were more stressed by the juniors than by the sophomores and seniors, and academic year made a significant difference to their views(p<.05).
The purpose of this study is to contribute the improvement of national welfare by presenting of pension welfare business of Korea and Japan. The reason why I take the management of Japan's pension accumulation as the object of comparative study is that the history of pension system of Japan is relatively longer than that of Korea. First of all, National Pension Fund comes into use for public sector, financial sector, and welfare sector, The scale of pension management for welfare sector is 50 small. Therefore, the study for welfare business investment reflecting the intentions of pension entries and pensioners is needs of times. This study defines the concept of welfare investment business and prospects welfare investment business of the future on the basis of Japanese experiences, and then suggests the direction of efficient propulsion of welfare investment business to the reasonable decision-makers. Especially this study redefine the concept of welfare investment business on the basis of pension entry's social benefits which are composed of pension entry's gains and pensioner's gain. Of course, welfare investment business has to be presupposed the stability of pension system and the continuous contribution to national economy. Thus, in order to efficiently perform welfare business, the policy-making for national welfare improvement has to be established after the good of business is set up like the results of this study.
A urban regeneration project of Korea has been promoted highly attaching to physical reforms, but without fulfilling the basic goal of reactivating city functions through concerning overall areas. Moreover, the general rule and its system of urban regeneration project which would provide roles of public and civilians as well as facilitate cooperative urban regeneration, are currently missing. Thus, social stratum continuously requests a framework act for urban regeneration project called Control Tower, to be a guide to the evidently right path to step up. The research analyzes the current status and problems of urban regeneration projects in Korea to examine the necessity of Control Tower, and to bring up the way to move on for its efficiency presented below: First, the law should be declarative; possess general, prospective influences on laws and systems related to urban regeneration. Second, the nonbinding guideline on a urban regeneration project should be suggested to reflect the conditions by the regions. Last, propulsions should be framed such as administrative principles of strengthening publicity and connection of urban regeneration projects, a committee and fund to promote the former, and a research for problem solution.
In this study, to figure out the demands for learning, a survey was conducted on learning organization agents participating in learning organization project supported by public fund, through measuring their awareness level of the role and tasks drawn from the precedent study. This questionnaire was developed with four roles and twenty competencies drawn from the precedent study. After conducting the survey on over 200 small and medium corporations participated in learning organization project, the data was analyzed about the role and competency from 123 answer sheets collected. The results were as following First, the awareness of role importance was higher(4.36) than present level(3.73), and was important in order of innovator, operator, spreader, promoter. Second, in competitive importance of learning organization agents, the role of spreader was high, that of promoter was low. Third, in awareness level of learning organization agents, the demand level was generally high(4.1), but acquired level was generally low, so there was a wide gap between the demand level and acquired level. Forth, From the analysis result of those data about work competency of learning organization agents, learning organization promoter and learning leader, KMS operator ability and outcome were come out to be necessary, and next administrative ability about organization changes were come out to be necessary.
This study estimated the regional economic effects by development of the logistics complex in Incheon New Port, applying the regional Input-Output tables in Incheon. And thereby, we tried to find some strategic implications on the priority to induce more effective industries for activated operation of the logistics complex in ports. According to the results, development of Incheon New Port will generate 2,579 billion KRWs(2.2 billion USDs) of production and 1,783 KRWs(1.5 billion USDs) of value-added annually. And we expect it to induce 38.8 thousand jobs, which is over the national average on the input-output table. By the business type, port logistics industry will contribute to develop regional economy more than any other ones in Incheon. We suggest business firms in port logistics industry to be induced to the logistics complex in Incheon New Port strategically. Until now, development of the logistics complex in Incheon New Port are planned to be postponed to 2015 when construction of the berth facilities, the access sea routes and the hinterland highways are completed. We suggest to invest more public fund, to induce the private capital, and then, to develop the logistics complex in Incheon New Port earlier in an appropriate scale.
The form of company divides private and coporate companies. In general. private company has direct connection with owner's fortunes. On the contrary, cooperate company is established by a group of people who invest capital funds on their company and has an independent character. In the case of private company, their are many merits that owner can obtain all the benefits without divisions. However, the owner can mix up the control of accounting between public and private matters. As a result confusing, it is difficult to estimate financial situation of company and is limited to fund supply. Futhermore, owner has unlimited liabilities with law credit as a social cognition. Especially, the government tries to induce conversion of private company into cooperation one on the basis of benefits of tax and so on. In those situations, the purpose of this thesis is to study the management benefits with the conversion of private company into cooperate one focucing on the related tax reduction effect. To do this, I have reviewed all of the related textual achievements and tested the real significancy of tax reduction effect of conversion empirically. Finally, I have concluded that the conversion of private company into coporate one has many benefits including significant tax reduction effect. In other side, I have considered and reviewed many difficulties related conversion privated company into cooperate one and suggested some improvements as results. This thesis is comprises 5 chapters as follows; The first chapter explains purposes and methodologies and extents of this study. The second chapter deals the theoretical basis of conversion of private company into cooperate one and cooperates diverse benefits and types and processes of conversion. The preceding research achievements are also reviewed in this chapter. The third chapter deals empirical testing on the real tax reduction effect of the conversion. The analysis is proceeded through t-test of difference of tax between pre and after conversion. The result is presented so positively that I can conclude that cooperate conversion of private company has real benefit of tax reduction. The forth chapter deals the difficulties and improvements related with conversion. They are considered and reviewed at various aspects such as practical, financial and tax aspect. In fifth chapter, I summarise all of the significant points of this study and have conclusions in various aspects at last. In final point, this study is not enough in sample numbers and sample collecting area for empirical testing of significant tax reduction effect of cooperate conversion and research of more foreign achievements. Those are remained as continuing future studies.
