  • N-channel metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor field-effect-transistors (MFISFET's) by using $SrBi_2Ta_2O_9$/Silicon Nitride/Si (100) structure were fabricated. The fabricated devices exhibit comfortable memory windows, fast switching speeds, good fatigue resistances, and long retention times that are suitable for advanced ferroelectric memory applications. The estimated switching time and polarization ($2P_r$) of the fabricated FET measured at applied electric field of 376 kV/cm were less than 50 ns and about 1.5 uC/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The magnitude of on/off ratio indicating the stored information performance was maintained more than 3 orders until 3 days at room temperature. The $I_DV_G$ characteristics before and after being subjected to $10^11$ cycles of fatigue at a frequency of 1 MHz remained almost the same except a little distortion in off state.

  • In this study, we synthesized durable antistatic agents with acrylic monomers for preventing the electrification of static electricity which is one of defects of polyester fabrics. Also we synthesized quaternary ammonium salts which give antistatic property and crosslinking agents which make antistatic agents adhere to fiber. The treatment of synthesized antistatic agents on polyester fabric carried out at the condition of various concentrations, treatment times and temperatures. The antistatic property, handle characteristics and other properties of treated and untreated polyester fabrics were also investigated.

  • The purpose of this investigation was to study the preperty of flow for seven different impression materials presently available in KOREA. In this study ,200 grams of a load was applied at regular intervals. As the result of this study, following points were revealed in terms of flow property of respective materials. 1)Impression plaster and irreversible hydrocolloid impression materials were found to have insufficient working time due to their tendency to set rapidly after mixing. 2)Regarding to impresssion pastes, it was found that it has manifested an ideal flow property until 2 minutes after mixing. Clinically, this material seems to allow sufficient working time for its manipulation.

  • In this paper, we propose image retrieval method more accurate and efficient than the conventional one. First of ail, we perform a shot detection and key frame extraction from the DC image constructed by DCT DC coefficients in the compressed video stream that is video compression standard such as MPEG[I][2]. We get principal axis applying PCA(Principal Component Analysis) to key frames for obtaining indexing information, and divide a domain. Video retrieval uses indexing information of high dimension. We apply KD-Trees(K Dimensional-Trees)[3] which shows efficient retrieval in data set of high dimension to video retrieval method. The proposed method can represent property of images more efficiently and property of domains more accurately using KD-Trees.

  • Viscosity and shear stress of the dental impression materials on commercial market(Imprint Garant LB(3M, U.S.A), EXAMIXFINE IT(GC, Japan), Vonflex S LB(Vericom, Korea), S-Silicone LB(Shinwon, Korea)) were measured with increasing shear rate from 50(1/sec) to 100(1/sec). The viscosity of EXAMIXFINE IT was decreased from 20,542(cP) to 14,684(cP), which is the shear thinning property of pseudoplastic as non-Newtonian fluid. Since the pseudoplastic property makes the impression material shear thinning and softly injected from cartridge, EXAMIXFINE IT might be popularly used in dentistry.

  • This paper presents basic study to develop high performance concrete for concrete filled tube with addition content of steel fiber. In this study, all mixtures was added to nylon fiber (1.5 kg/㎥) and steel fiber was mixed by 0, 20 and 40 kg/㎥ respectively. To evaluate the property of high performance concrete was used to various test methods which were slump flow, air content, U-box test, O-lot test and L-flow(to 300 mm, 500 mm). Also, compressive strength test was measured by ages.

  • In precision chemical application increment of biological efficacy with less chemical is the virtue. spraying rate and droplet size is closely related to biological efficacy. this study was performed to develope a spray-control-system that could control spraying rate and droplet size independently. Twin-fluid nozzles were selected and tested to certify if the nozzles were suitable for the objective of this study. Characteritics of the nozzles i.e., spraying rte and droplet size change u8nder the changes of spraying pressure and air pressure were statistically modeled. The model had I to 1 matching property between dependent variables and independent variables. Using the property and the model, inverse relationship could be determined between variables. A feedback spray control system was developed and tested with predetermined error of 5 % in pressure. The system showed 4 % error in spraying rate and 9 % error in droplets size. Performance of the system could be upgraded by fine tuning but, in practical sense keeping air pressure in the field sprayer was the bottle neck of commercialization of the spray system.

  • It is well known that the area U of the triangle formed by three tangents to a parabola X is half of the area T of the triangle formed by joining their points of contact. Recently, it was proved that this property is a characteristic one of parabolas. That is, among strictly locally convex $C^{(3)}$ curves in the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$ parabolas are the only ones satisfying the above area property. In this article, we study strictly locally convex curves in the plane $\mathbb{R}^2$. As a result, generalizing the above mentioned characterization theorem for parabolas we present some conditions which are necessary and sufficient for a strictly locally convex $C^{(3)}$ curve in the plane to be an open part of a parabola.

  • The water vapour permeability of clothing materials is a critical property for clothing systems that must maintain thermal equilibrium for the wearer. The evaporation of perspiration provides the means of cooling the human body. The perspiration should evaporate from the surface of the skin and pass as water vapour through the clothing, which must be permeable for comfort. The primary objectives in this study of the transfer through fabrics of water vapour are to measure this property in a quantitative manner appropriate to clothing systems and to provide an increased understanding of various types of fabric in water vapour transfer. • Thresholding is a popular image segmentation method that converts a gray-level image into a binary image. The selection of optimum threshold has remained a challenge over decades. Many image segmentation techniques are developed using information about image in other space rather than the image space itself. Most of the technique based on histogram analysis information-theoretic approaches. In this paper, the criterion function for finding optimal threshold is developed using an intensity-based classuncertainty (a histogram-based property of an image) and region-homogeneity (an image morphology-based property). The theory of the optimum thresholding method is based on postulates that objects manifest themselves with fuzzy boundaries in any digital image acquired by an imaging device. The performance of the proposed method is illustrated on experimental data obtained by W-band millimeter-wave radiometer image under different noise level.
