다기능 해양소재로서 홍해삼의 효능과 지역별 성분 비교를 통한 활용 가능성 연구 고찰 (Review on the Feasibility of Using Red Sea Cucumber (Stichopus japonicus) as a Multi-functional Marine Biomaterial and Comparing the Biochemical Components Collected from Different Regions in Korea)

  • This study aims to review the progress of biotechnological applications of sea cucumber and presents fundamental validation data on a range of methods and applications to determine the most promising fields for future exploitation and application. Sea cucumbers from different regions, subjected to numerous industrially applicable drying methods, were evaluated for their biochemical composition. The study highlights the nutritional excellence of Jeju red sea cucumber, particularly the high amino acid and fatty acid composition of its intestinal organs and the possibility of the industrial utilization of these organs. In addition, an efficient extraction method to extract collagen and chondroitin sulfate from red sea cucumber was established. The extracted collagen and chondroitin sulfate can be used as commercially valid biomaterials. Accordingly, the red sea cucumber was confirmed as a valuable source of raw food material of varied functionality and bioactivity. Upon conducting an analysis of patents thus far relating to the sea cucumber, it was found that the associated technology was limited to some parts of primary and secondary industries. Therefore, there is a clear need for the strategic development of technologies to produce specialized functional products from sea cucumber's raw materials, with a view to promote other related industries.

n-InGaAs MOSFETs을 위한 Pd 중간층을 이용한 Ni-InGaAs의 열 안정성 개선 (Improvement of Thermal Stability of Ni-InGaAs Using Pd Interlayer for n-InGaAs MOSFETs)

  • Ni-InGaAs shows promise as a self-aligned S/D (source/drain) alloy for n-InGaAs MOSFETs (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors). However, limited thermal stability and instability of the microstructural morphology of Ni-InGaAs could limit the device performance. The in situ deposition of a Pd interlayer beneath the Ni layer was proposed as a strategy to improve the thermal stability of Ni-InGaAs. The Ni-InGaAs alloy layer prepared with the Pd interlayer showed better surface roughness and thermal stability after furnace annealing at $570^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, while the Ni-InGaAs without the Pd interlayer showed degradation above $500^{\circ}C$. The Pd/Ni/TiN structure offers a promising route to thermally immune Ni-InGaAs with applications in future n-InGaAs MOSFET technologies.

  • 농업은 인류 발전의 기반을 세운 최초의 산업기술이며, 생존에 있어서 필수적인 요소이다. 다양한 산업이 등장하면서 농업은 비교적 소외받는 산업이 되었다. 그러나 최근 IT기술의 발달에 따라 농업 기술은 무한한 발전 가능성을 발견했고, 미래에도 없어지지 않을 촉망받는 산업으로 선정되었다. 스마트 팜(Smart Farm)은 기존 농업인들의 열악한 업무환경을 개선하여 삶의 질을 향상 시켰다. 또한, 신체적으로 불리한 인원도 산업에 참여할 수 있게 되고, 우수한 인재 유입을 도모하여 인적자원 증대 및 수준향상을 기대할 수 있다. 현재까지 스마트 팜은 상용화 초기 단계에 있어 더욱 다양한 기술개발이 필요하다. 이 프로젝트에서 스마트 팜의 대중화를 목표로 하고, 센서를 통해 농작물 생장 환경 정보를 수집 및 데이터베이스화를 진행하려고 한다.

증강현실 게임에서의 동작 기반 상호작용 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Motion-based Interaction in AR Game)

  • 본 논문에서는 증강현실 게임에서의 동작 기반 상호작용의 설계 및 구현 기법을 기술한다. 증강현실에서는 상호작용의 도구로 고전적인 입력 장치보다 사용자의 동작에 의존한다. 동작 기반 증강현실 게임은 신체적 움직임에 의한 상호작용을 사용하는 실감 게임의 유망한 분야이나 현재의 동작 인식 기술의 불안정성으로 인해서 증강현실 응용에서 동작 인식 장치를 주 입력 장치로 사용하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 이러한 한계에 대처하기 위해서 각 증강현실 응용들은 여러 보완수단들을 동원하고 있고 이로 인해서 증강현실 게임의 구조가 불규칙적이며 비효율적으로 설계되는 경향이 있다. 본 논문에서는 동작 기반 증강현실 게임의 효율적인 개발 방법론을 제시한다. 실제 탁구채를 사용하는 동작 인터페이스를 가지는 증강현실 탁구게임의 프로토타입을 제시된 방법론에 따라서 설계하고 이를 구현하였다. 구현된 증강현실 게임에서의 상호작용에 있어서 탁구채를 고속으로 인식하고 지연 없이 상호작용 됨을 확인하였다.

New Technologies in Low Pollution Swine Diets : Diet Manipulation and Use of Synthetic Amino Acids, Phytase and Phase Feeding for Reduction of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Excretion and Ammonia Emission - Review -

  • In the paper insight is given in the legislation policy to restrain environmental pollution by pig husbandry, focused on The Netherlands (Mineral Accounting System). Besides, nutritional measures are presented to reduce environmental pollution by lowering excretion of N and P, emphasizing (multi) phase feeding, the use of low protein, synthetic amino acids supplemented diets, phytase and its effect on phosphorus and calcium digestibility, its interaction with phytic acid and proteins, and the environmental impact of the use of phytase in pig diets. Also, nutritional means are indicated to reduce ammonia volatilization from pig operations. It is concluded that nutrition management can substantially contribute to reduction of N and P excretion by pigs, mainly by lowering dietary protein levels, (multi) phase feeding and the use of microbial phytase, and that the use of phytase on a large scale in The Netherlands has a tremendous environmental impact. In 20 years the excretion of P in growing-finishing pigs has more than halved. Ammonia emission from manure of pigs can be reduced substantially by lowering dietary protein content, but also by including additional non-starch polysaccharides in the diet. A very promising method to reduce ammonia emission is to manipulate dietary cation-anion difference, e.g. by adding acidifying salts to the diet, which will lower pH of urine substantially. Further research is desirable. This also applies to determining dietary factors influencing the odour release from manure. Finally, some speculation on the future of pig farming from an environmental viewpoint is presented.

오존에 노출된 에폭시 코팅재의 표면 열화특성 평가기술 (Techniques for Characterizing Surface Deterioration of Epoxy Exposed to Ozone Damage)

  • 최근 수질오염의 악화로 고도정수처리시설에 대한 수요가 커지고 있으며, 오존처리와 같은 밀폐형 고도정수처리시설의 설치가 늘고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 오존의 강력한 산화작용으로 인해 콘크리트 구조물의 침식이 우려됨에 따라 오존에 대응 가능한 에폭시 방수방식재가 콘크리트 표층부 보호 코팅재로 적용되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 에폭시가 오존에 대한 성능수준 및 장기적 내구성을 명확히 측정할 방법과 기준이 없어 정확한 품질관리가 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이며, 이로 인해 수처리용 콘크리트 구조물의 장기내구성 확보에 대한 우려가 제기되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 AFM과 나노인덴테이션 기법이 기존에 사용하던 평가방법인 육안관찰, 중량변화, 표면관찰, 색차분석 등의 간접적 평가방법과 함께 에폭시 방수방식재 평가방법으로써의 적합한지를 판단하고자 하였으며, 이를 위해 오존용으로 개발된 6종의 다른 성분으로 구성된 에폭시계 방수방식재를 대상으로 열화특성을 분석하였다. 연구결과 AFM과 나노인덴테이션을 활용할 경우 기존 평가방법보다 직접적이고 정량적인 평가가 가능함을 확인하였으며, 일부 에폭시 코팅재료의 경우 오존에 대한 성능 한계치 (임계치)를 명확히 확인할 수 있었다.

전자 홀로그래피 및 초 다시점 3차원 영상 디스플레이 (Supermultiview and Electro-Holographic 3-D Imaging Display)

  • 초 다시점 및 전자 홀로그래픽 디스플레이는 향후 기대가 되는 연속시차를 주는 3차원 디스플레이 방식이나, 아직 가용한 디스플레이의 부재로 초기 개발 단계에 있다. 초 다시점의 구현은 다시점 영상의 수 보다는 화소셀/요소 영상내의 화소 수와 화소 사이즈에 의존하며, 전자 홀로그래피도 전체 패널내의 화소 수와 화소 사이즈에 의존하므로 이들의 구현을 위한 요구 사항에는 차이가 없다. 그러나 구현 영상자체는 전자 홀로그래피의 경우는 공간 부양 영상이므로 초 다시점의 패널을 앞뒤로 한 깊이감의 표시보다 시각적인 효과가 더 클 것으로 예상된다.

과학기술 논문의 참고문헌 텍스트 정보를 활용한 기술의 군집화 (Technology Clustering Using Textual Information of Reference Titles in Scientific Paper)

  • Data on patent and scientific paper is considered as a useful information source for analyzing technological information and has been widely utilized. Technology big data is analyzed in various ways to identify the latest technological trends and predict future promising technologies. Clustering is one of the ways to discover new features by creating groups from technology big data. Patent includes refined bibliographic information such as patent classification code whereas scientific paper does not have appropriate bibliographic information for clustering. This research proposes a new approach for clustering data of scientific paper by utilizing reference titles in each scientific paper. In this approach, the reference titles are considered as textual information because each reference consists of the title of the paper that represents the core content of the paper. We collected the scientific paper data, extracted the title of the reference, and conducted clustering by measuring the text-based similarity. The results from the proposed approach are compared with the results using existing methodologies that one is the approach utilizing textual information from titles and abstracts and the other one is a citation-based approach. The suggested approach in this paper shows statistically significant difference compared to the existing approaches and it shows better clustering performance. The proposed approach will be considered as a useful method for clustering scientific papers.

차세대 해양생명공학사업 추진 전략수립 연구 (A study on Strategic Planning of Marine Biotechnology for Next Generation)

  • The aim of this project is to develop an adaptive and collective National Marine Biotechnology Plan for the next decade(2014~2023) which is able to reflect current and future changing environment. This effective strategy targets to foster marine-derived active bio-materials, marine bioenergy production technology and many promising technologies in order to promote marine biotechnology industry as a next-generation growth engine. Marine biotechnology industry based on R&D activities since 1980 has been growing as an emerging industry. This new field enables to secure exclusive patent rights and to find new potential bio-active materials from the ocean that requires long-term aggressive R&D investments. The current policy direction is to raise appropriate level of R&D investment because the current Korea's national marine biotechnology R&D fund ratio is less than 2% of the total national biotechnology R&D budget. The result shows three major strategies. First, it recommended a research implementation system and supporting policy that includes establishment of open innovation framework for the 'Industry-Academia-Research Institute Collaborations', strategic research planning and enhanced policy making process. Second, it derived state-of-the-art or new technology in many areas. Third, it formulated more detailed execution plans for successful R&D support and set up performance indicator system in related R&D program.

  • Korea has a variety of favorable conditions for utilizing wind as energy. First of all, as a geographical characteristic, it is a peninsular country with its three frontiers surrounded by sea. Such a location makes the country influenced, all the year round, both by sea winds and by seasonal winds, so that it has a good possibility of putting its rich wind resources to use as an energy source. Particularly, in view of the results of observations and analysis of actual data about wind sources, it is quite possible to build wind paver plants in many regions across the country, such as inhabited islands dotted on its southern and western coasts around the Korean peninsular, a number of uninhabited islets attached the main islands, large-scaled reclaimed lands, and major inland areas. In Korea, the attempt to develop the technology of wind paver generation started in the 1970's. It was since 1988, when the Law on the promotion of Alternative Energy Development was enacted, that research and development activities for employing the wind force as a part of energy source have got into full swing. At that moment, however, due to the low level of domestic technological development, such efforts were mainly focused on the attainment of basic technologies with regard to wind power generation. Recently, there have been many noticeable changes in the international as well as domestic environments, such as the conclusion of the International Climate Treaty and the increase in public concerns of natural environment. It is quite possible to predict that the demand for wind paver generation will increase in the near future. Therefore, recognizing that wind, as a clean energy source, can be a promising method for coping with the International Climate Treaty and for replacing the fossil fuel, oil, this essay investigates the development history of wind paver generation systems and the status of technological development in Korea and presents an appropriate model for the development of the paver generation system that can compete with other energy sources.
