In this paper, an application program is made to simulate the behavior of a ship block under various crane works and to generate data of lu9 reactions and wire tensions. The program is based on a CAD program, Pro/ENGINEER. A ship is composed of more than 100 ship blocks. In order to lift, move, turn, or put a ship block at a convenient location fur assembling, workers in a shipyard use cranes, wires, and lugs temporarily attached to the block. In the procedure of lifting and turning a ship block with a crane, it is important to find suitable lug points and wires to do the handling efficiently and prevent accidents. Evaluation of forces in lugs and wires is necessary, but the problem is rather complex due to nonlinearity and nonuniqueness. In the present development, the nonlinear system of equations for quasi-static equilibriums is derived and a Newton type solution method is adopted to solve the system. The importance of initial estimates to the solution is illustrated and two approaches are utilized and compared. With the program developed, users can assign lug points on the CAD model by mouse and choose various linking devices at each crane point. Users can try to simulate the motion for any prescribed conditions, compare the motion of the block and the reactions and choose appropriate lug points and the type of wires and lugs.

In this study we have developed a Python education program that can be applied to students who have studied block-based coding. We have developed a Python education program based on the extracted the learners' level of block-based coding by analyzing the programs and the textbooks. We extracted the grammar of the block-based coding and constructed the curriculum. Then, the Python education program was composed by 16 hours. After reviewing the appropriateness of the education program through expert validation, it was concluded that the developed Python education program is suitable for applying to learners of block-based coding. We expect that proposed program will be effectively applied as basic resources to learn script coding in class.
This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

This paper presents the design of high speed processor for a sequence logic control using field programmable gate array(FPGA). The sequence logic controller is widely used for automating a variety of industrial plants. The FPGA designed by VHDL consists of program and data memory interface block, input and output block, instruction fetch and decoder block, register and ALU block, program counter block, debug control block respectively. Dedicated clock inputs in the FPGA were used for high speed execution, and also the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of the sequence instructions at 40 MHz clock. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. In order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 16 bits or 32 bits respectively. And the real time debug operation was implemented for easy debugging the designed processor. This FPGA was synthesized by pASIC 2 SpDE and Synplify-Lite synthesis tool of Quick Logic company. The final simulation for worst cases was successfully performed under a Verilog HDL simulation environment. And the FPGA programmed for an 84 pin PLCC package was applied to sequence control system with inputs and outputs of 256 points. The designed processor for the sequence logic was compared with the control system using the DSP(TM320C32-40MHz) and conventional PLC system. The designed processor for the sequence logic showed good performance.

Enucleation of a 9-year-old, spayed female Pekingese's right eye was scheduled because of recurrent eyeball rupture caused by chronic corneal ulcer and descemetocele. Scoliosis of the thoracic vertebra was observed on thoracic radiography. Complete blood count, electrolytes, serum chemistry profiles were within normal ranges except of alkaline phosphatase, which was markedly improved, compared with that of five months ago. Severe respiratory sinus arrhythmia was observed before induction of anesthesia, it disappeared after induction. Retrobulbar block was performed with 0.5% bupivacaine, 2% lidocaine, 0.1% epinephrine combination (4 : 1 : 0.2 ratio of volume) before start of surgery. After retrobulbar block, heart rate decreased from 110 to 76 beats/min and sinus arrhythmia recurred. It was considered as oculocardiac reflex caused by increase of intraorbital pressure from retrobulbar block, atropine (0.025 mg/kg, IV) was administered and intermittent positive pressure ventilation was started. Three minutes after atropine administration, abnormal waveform of the electrocardiograph was appeared, it suspected as ventricular or supraventricular tachycardia, so lidocaine (2 mg/kg, IV) was administered. Then, heart rate was maintained around 130 beats/min, and the surgery was finished without the other problems. Although, retrobulbar block is performed to provide analgesia and to prevent oculocardiac reflex in ophthalmic surgery, occasionally it could induce oculocardiac reflex by infiltrated volume.

In this study, a block-base coding that could develop computing thinking was applied to Earth science teaching and learning to identify how the perception of computational thinking and scientific attitude was changed as part of creativity education. Based on the results of the study, the conclusions are as follows: First, an Earth science education program was developed using a block-based coding for elementary school students. The 12-hour program was designed for inquiry activities to encourage students to engage in various thinking by providing them with activity-oriented problems. Second, the Earth science education program using a block-based coding showed significant results in confidence in the use of a computer program, integrated learning with a computer, computational thinking, and problem-solving factors with computational thinking. Third, the Earth science education program using block-based coding showed significant differences in the categories of curiosity, criticism, cooperation, persistence, and creativity. It could be judged that it was effective for students in the process of questioning and trying to solve the problem themselves.
This paper deals with rocking response behavior of rigid block structure subjected to horizontal excitation. A strict consideration of impact and sliding between the block and base is essential to investigate the rocking vibration characteristics because the rocking behavior were greatly influenced by the impact and sliding motion. Therefore, not only restitution coefficient between the block and base but also the energy dissipation rate which is associated with sliding motion, and the static and kinetic friction coefficient between those should be included in the modeling of rocking system. The analytic program was developed to be able to simulate the experimental responses of the block subjected to horizontal sinusoidal excitations. By using this program, rocking responses were numerically calculated by the nonlinear equations for rocking system. From the response simulation and rocking vibration experiment, the following results were obtained. The rocking responses are affected by the impact motion due to energy dissipation and friction and provide very complex behavior. The toppling condition of the block is also influenced by the impact motion and sliding motion.

A computer program has been developed to predict the heat transfer characteristics and the temperature distribution in the cylinder block of a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine. The finete element method is employed to handle the complex geometries associated with the practical cylinder block. The hexahedron finite element is used for a mesh generation of three-dimensional domain. The present numerical procedure has been validated with the measured temperature at several locations of cylinder block. The heat transfer characteristics of engine cylinder block is systematically analyzed for various engine speeds and loading conditions.
Increasing the transfortation efficiency is very important issue in railway system. Speed-up of train and shortage of headway can be its solution. Headway can vary with blocksection length, characteristics of the railway and signalling systems. Safety braking distance needed for passenger's safety is very important factor in block section division method. In this study, basic block section division program was developed with the differential ratio of braking distance resulted by grade value of the track. More complete block section division program is going to be developed by the help of experienced experts.

The design program of fitting and thrust block including various shapes and sizes was developed for the GMR project (Great Man-made River Project in Lybia). It can automatically recalculated the minimum size of fitting required for the structural performance and can also determine the proper size of fitting for the safe and economic design by users. It was found that the results of this program was accurate and efficient when it was compared to other references. This program is also developed with GUI (Graphic User Interface) technology for the convenience of users.
