  • This paper describes the aplication of different model which can be used for short-term load prediction. The model is based on Bohlin's approach to first develop a load profile model representing the nominal load component and the Box-Jenkins approach is used to predict residuals. An on-line algorithm using Kalman Filter and Time Series is implemented for and hour-ahead prediction. In the Kalman Filter system equation and measurement equation were fixed and parameters of Time Series were varied week after week. A set of data for Korea Electric Power Corporation from April to June 1981 was used for the evaluation of the model. As the result of this simulation 1.2% rms error was acquired.

  • We have studied the characteristics of n-and p-channel FETs with submicron channel length fabricated by twin-well process. Threshold voltage variation and potential distribution with channel ion implantation conditions and impurity profile of n-and p-channel region wee simulated using SUPREM-II and MINIMOS 4.0 simulater, P-channel FET had buried-channel in the depth of 0.15 $\mu\textrm{m}$ from surface by counter-doped boron ion implantation for threshold voltage adjustment. As a result of device measurement, we have obtained good drain saturation characteristics for 3.3 [V] opreation, minimized short channel effect with threshold voltage shift below 0.2[V], high punchthrough and breakdown voltage above 10[V] and low subthreshold value.

  • In this paper, a finite element (FEM) investigation of composite materials is studied. A pemittivity profile of the material is implemented to correspond to the Packing fraction of the physical composite. Curve fitting is applied to the standing wave pattern to determine the effective attenuation coefficient and propagation constant in the composite. The complex permittivity as a function of packing density is then determined. A comparison between the two dimensional and three dimensional measurement simulations is presented. An adaptive scheme is implemented to improve resolution of the finite element particulates.

  • Disk type Single Phase SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) can be used axial and radial direction magnetic flux. Therefore, the energy density per unit of volume is high and the axis can be shorter than that of any other motor. In this paper, the flux-linkage was measured according as rotor positions of disk type single phase SRM, which is designed and fabricated in previous studies. From the measured data, we got the magnetization curves, inductance profile, co-energy and torque. Also, we compared the value of the measurement with the value of analysis through 3D FEM simulation.

  • Based on the profiles of cone index with depth, physical properties of hardpan in selected rice fields were measured and analyzed in the study. An error correction algorithm removing a random measurement error from raw CI profile data was introduced in the study. The properties of hardpan included the shape, the thickness and the rice root growing layer. The analysis of physical properties of hardpan in the rice fields showed that the type of hardpan could be classified into 6 categories. The thickness of hardpan ranged from 6 cm up to 41 cm and the average hardness of hardpan was analyzed to be from 1.1 MPa through 3.2 MPa in Cone index.

  • A key aspect of theoretical and practical development of quality management is articulation of the distinction between quality management practices(input) and quality performance (output), which to date has been blurred under the broad heading of 'quality'. Recent literature primarily addressed measurement of quality performance but very little empirical research focuses specifically on quality management practices. In order to understand quality cause and effect, it is necessary to specify and measure quality management practices (cause) as well as quality performance (effect). This paper identifies and substantiates the key areas of quality management that must be implemented to achieve effective quality management, then analyzes relationships among those areas. In doing so, it establishes the basis for subsequent research by producing a profile of organization-wide quality manage-ment and provides the direction and priority of quality management practices for practitioners.

  • Measurement techniques for in-duct acoustic source parameters can be classified into the direct method and the load method, according to whether it utilizes an extra external source or not. It is reported that the load methods yield the negative source resistance and the purpose of this paper is to clarify that the time-varying nature of the source is the main cause of this physically implausible result. For this purpose, the direct and load methods for measuring the source characteristics of a simplified fluid machine are simulated using the time domain numerical analysis. In the numerical simulations, the method of characteristics is employed and the source characteristics are calculated from the resultant data. It is shown that the load method results in negative source resistance for some frequencies, whereas the direct method yields positive values for all frequencies considered. It is found that the result of load method is quite sensitive to the change of cylinder pressure or valve profile in contrast to the direct method.

The applied method for analysis was a Cephalometries for Orthognathic Surgery(COGS) by Burstone. Lateral cephalograms were obtained from 59 subjects over 21 years old, that consisted of 30 males and 29 females with normal occlusion, acceptable profile. The results were as follows : 1. The author made the tables of means, standard deviations in each item, sex. 2. The author performed whether there was significance (P<0.05) between the registered male and female's measurement in each item.

  • This study presents the prediction of propagated wave profiles using the wave information at a fixed point. The fixed points can be fixed in either space or time. Wave information based on the linear wave theory can be expressed by Fredholm integral equation of the first kinds. The discretized matrix equation is usually an ill-conditioned system. Tikhonov regularization was applied to the ill-conditioned system to overcome instability of the system. The regularization parameter is calculated by using the L-curve method. The numerical results are compared with the experimental results. The analysis of the numerical computation shows that the Tikhonov regularization method is useful.
