신규간호사의 간호실무준비도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The factors influencing the nursing practice readiness of new graduate nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the nursing practice readiness of newly graduated nurses. Methods: The participants were 120 new nurses with 1 to 12 months of work experience at two tertiary hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The data were collected through an online questionnaire from February 6 to April 30, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25 program, and the independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a multiple regression analysis were performed. Results: The participants' nursing practice readiness was found to be positively correlated with their confidence in core nursing skill performance, satisfaction with clinical practice, satisfaction concerning simulation education, satisfaction regarding preceptorship, length of preceptorship and length of current unit placement. The regression analysis showed that the significant variables affecting nursing practice readiness were confidence in core nursing skill performance and satisfaction with clinical practice, and the explanatory power of the variables on nursing practice readiness was 36.0%. Conclusion: In order for newly graduated nurses to achieve nursing practice readiness, it is necessary to develop a nursing education program that can improve their confidence in core nursing skills performance and satisfaction with clinical practice in the nursing college curriculum and further research on the factors affecting nursing practice readiness is needed.

중소규모 화학업종을 위한 자율점검표 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Self-Checklists for Small and Medium-Sized Chemical Industries)

  • Major industrial accidents in which workers die due to fires or explosions while working at chemical substance handling workplaces continue to occur. Among the major industrial accidents that occurred between 2005 and 2021, the accident status by work situation and equipment was analyzed. Through analysis, it was confirmed that storage, reaction, and piping facilities were the main causes of the accident, and a self-checklist for each facility was developed. Verification was conducted through the supply and use groups to evaluate the suitability of the use, duties, and items of the self-checklist. The user group showed higher satisfaction than the supplier group for all three suitability of use, job, and item. In particular, since the inspection items of the self-checklist were organized around the cause of the accident derived through the analysis of actual accident cases, the satisfaction level was high in all groups. It is expected that the self-checklist developed through this study will be useful not only for large companies but also for small and medium-sized chemical industries that lack professional manpower.

  • 지난 3월 권영걸 위원장이 국가건축정책위원장으로 취임하며 국가건축정책위원회(이하 국건위)가 새롭게 거듭났다. 제7기 국건위는 자연친화적인 국토환경, 건강한 생태도시 구현을 목적으로 '공원같은 나라, 정원같은 도시'를 슬로건으로 내걸고, 스마트 기술을 기반으로 도시의 쾌적성을 높여 국민 삶의 질을 높이고자 한다. 국가와 사회의 과제를 건축공간적 해법으로 풀겠다는 목표다. 이를 위해 국가상징공간 조성, ESG+Art 기반 선진 생태도시 모델 제시, ICT 융·복합 기반 '한국형 건축도시' 개발, 지방소멸에 대응한 도시건축 사업 추진 등 네 가지 중핵과제를 설정, 불철주야 노력하고 있다. 지난 7월 28일 권영걸 위원장을 직접 만나 정책 방향을 물어봤다. 한편 권영걸 위원장은 이날 인터뷰에서 "8월 3일부터 협회 의무가입제도가 도입된 것을 축하드린다. 이를 계기로 건축계 의견을 하나로 모으고, 건축사들의 직업윤리를 강화할 수 있게 됐다는 점에서 건축산업 발전에 크게 기여하게 될 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다. 그러면서 "건축사들의 직업적 권위가 보호되고 스스로 국가 디자이너이자 신문명 디자이너라는 시각을 갖고 일할 수 있도록 제반환경이 조성돼야 한다"며 "협회가 그런 길을 인도할 수 있는 역할을 해주시길 바란다. 국건위도 열심히 돕겠다"고 밝혔다.

종합병원 간호사의 소진 측정도구 개발 (Development of the Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for burnout in general hospital nurses and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: Construct factors were extracted through an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with nurses. Psychometric testing was conducted with 550 nurses in a general hospital. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing. Results: As a result of factor analysis, 4 factors and 26 items were selected. The burnout factors of general hospital nurses were professional quality of life, work environment excellence, job satisfaction, and negative emotions. The overall coefficient of determination was 46.38%. These factors were validated through convergent, discriminant and concurrent validity testing. The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's α=.91). Conclusions: The Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses is a valid and reliable tool that contributes to the assessment of burnout in general hospital nurses. This scale is expected to be used in burnout practice and research of general hospital nurses.

A Study on the Safety Perception, Ethical Awareness, and Safety Activities of Nursing Students

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the level of safety perception, ethical awareness, and safety activities of nursing students for patients, and to identify the correlation and impact between them. The research design is a descriptive survey study, and the subject of the study were 197 nursing college students in G City. Safety perception, ethical awareness, and safety activity tools were used for, and the data collection period was from October 17 to 28 in 2022. T-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Regression analysis were used to analyze data. The result of the study indicated that the average level of safety perception of nursing students was 3.72 points, the average ethical awareness of patients, professional work, and cooperators perceived by nursing students was 3.04 points, and the safety activities of nursing students were 4.20 points. In the case of safety awareness and ethics awareness, r=.327, a significant positive correlation, in the case of safety awareness and safety activities, r=.399, significant positive correlation, ethics awareness and safety activities as r=.296. And so on these results showed that high safety perception increases safety activities, and high ethical awareness increases safety activities. Therefore, we need practical and step-by-step convergence education to equip nursing students with patient safety nursing capabilities. To this end, a safer environment will be created if the social support network for the systematic application of safety education is well formed.

종합병원 간호관리자의 간호관리역량 요구도 분석 (Need analysis for managerial competencies of nurse managers in general hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the needs for the managerial competencies of nurse managers in general hospitals. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used. The participants were 203 nurse managers, 141 head nurses or unit managers, and 62 directors or team managers from 17 general hospitals. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire with 42 nursing management competencies and 181 behavioral indicators. Participants rated the importance and performance of each indicator. Data were analyzed using a paired t-test, independent t-test, importance-performance analysis, Borich's needs assessment model, and locus for focus model. Results: In all 42 competencies, importance was rated significantly higher than performance. The head nurses or unit managers had high demands for "human resource development," "performance management," and "information management," while the directors or team managers had high demands for "change management." Competencies in high demand in both groups were "development of nursing standards" and "self-management." Conclusion: Based on the results, it is necessary to select priorities and prepare educational content when developing educational programs to strengthen the nursing management competencies of general hospitals' nurse managers.

An Empirical Study of Absolute-Fairness Maximal Balanced Cliques Detection Based on Signed Attribute Social Networks: Considering Fairness and Balance

  • Amid the flood of data, social network analysis is beneficial in searching for its hidden context and verifying several pieces of information. This can be used for detecting the spread model of infectious diseases, methods of preventing infectious diseases, mining of small groups and so forth. In addition, community detection is the most studied topic in social network analysis using graph analysis methods. The objective of this study is to examine signed attributed social networks and identify the maximal balanced cliques that are both absolute and fair. In the same vein, the purpose is to ensure fairness in complex networks, overcome the "information cocoon" bottleneck, and reduce the occurrence of "group polarization" in social networks. Meanwhile, an empirical study is presented in the experimental section, which uses the personal information of 77 employees of a research company and the trust relationships at the professional level between employees to mine some small groups with the possibility of "group polarization." Finally, the study provides suggestions for managers of the company to align and group new work teams in an organization.

연구 및 진료에서의 이해상충 (Conflicts of Interest in Research and Clinical Practice)

  • 최근 의사들이나 연구자들은 진료나 연구에서 독자적으로 수행하기보다는, 회사, 연구기관, 보건의료기관, 및 학술 저널의 관련인들과 관계를 맺게 된다, 혹은 그들이 관련 회사에서의 자문 및 주주 참여 등과 같은 다중적 이해관계(multiple interests)를 가지기도 한다. 그러한 이해관계가 연구자의 의사결정에 지대한 영향을 미치는 경우 이해상충이 발생할 수 있다. 이해상충은 연구 진실성을 침해하여 피험자나 환자를 위험에 빠뜨리기도 하고 공공에 대한 위험을 초래할 수 있고 과학에 대한 대중의 인식을 악화시킬 수도 있기에 매우 중요한 문제라고 할 수 있다. 이 종설에서는 이해상충의 개념과 구체적인 사례 및 이에 대한 해법을 살펴보고자 한다.

저소득층의 디스트레스에 따른 전문가 도움추구의 결정에 영향을 미치는 개인 및 사회인지 요인들의 관계구조 탐색 (Exploration of the Relationship Structure of Personal and Social Cognitive Factors Affecting Professional Help-seeking Decisions for Distress among People in Low-income)

  • 이 연구는 저소득층이 디스트레스를 완화하기 위해 사회복지사를 비롯한 전문가로부터 도움을 추구하고자 결정하는 데 기여하는 개인 및 사회인지 요인들의 구조를 살펴보고 보다 적절한 모형을 선정하여 사회복지실천에 유용한 지식을 얻고자 하였다. 편의표집에 의한 저소득층 331명의 자료를 구조방정식모형으로 계획행동이론(TPB)을 응용한 기본모형과 확장된 모형 두 단계로 분석하였다. 우선 TPB 기본모형의 분석을 통해 사회인식을 반영하는 주관적 규범, 도움추구에 대한 긍정적 태도, 자신의 행동통제력 순서로 추구의도에 정적으로 기여하고 다시 의도는 추구결정에 정적인 기여를, 행동통제력은 추구결정에 부적 기여를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 다음 단계로, 디스트레스와 가족지지의 영향을 포함하고 합리적 행동계획인 의도(intention)와 함께 상황에 대한 반응으로서 자진 추구의사(willingness) 경로를 포함하여 확장한 모형을 탐색적으로 검토하였다. 확장모형의 경로분석에서 디스트레스와 가족 지지 각각은 도움추구에 대한 태도, 주관적 규범, 행동통제력에 상당한 수준으로 정적 영향을 주었다. 태도와 주관적 규범은 추구의도와 의사 각각에 유의한 정적 영향을, 행동통제력은 추구의사에 정적 영향을, 추구결정에는 부적 영향을, 그리고 의도는 추구결정에 정적인 직접효과를 보였다. 행동통제력이 추구의사를 통해 추구의도에 미치는 간접효과와 추구의사가 의도를 통해 추구결정에 미치는 간접효과가 유의하였다. 이러한 결과들은 TPB 모형이 저소득층의 전문가 도움추구와 관련되는 개인 및 사회인지 요인들의 관계구조 파악에 유용함을 시사하였고, 특히 주관적 규범의 영향력을 통해 사회인지의 중요성이 함의되었다. 나아가 저소득층의 특수성을 살릴 수 있는 확장모형의 필요성과 함께 행동통제력과 자진 추구의사가 시사하는 클라이언트의 자기의지의 중요성과 활용 등 사회복지실천을 위한 함의를 제시하였다.

간호학사 편입학제도의 교과과정 비교분석 (Comparative analysis of RN-BSN Program in Korea and U. S. A.)

  • In response of the increasing demand for professional degree in nursing, some university in Korea offers RN-BSN program for R. N. from diploma in nursing. However, RN-BSN program in Korea is in formative period. Therefore, the purpose of this survey study is for the comparative analysis of RN-BSN curriculum in Korea and U.S.A. In this study, subjects consisted of 18 department of nursing in university and 5 RN-BSN programs in Korea and 18 department of nursing in university and 12 RN-BSN programs in U.S.A. For earn the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the student earns 134 of mean credits in U.S.A., whereas 150.3 of mean credits in Korea. The mean credit for clinical pratice is 30.1 in U.S.A., whereas 23.9 in Korea. Students are assigned to individually planned clinical experiences under the direction of a preceptor in U.S.A. In RN-BSN program, total mean credits through lecture and clinical practice for earn the degree of BSN is 35.5(lecture : 27.7, practice ; 7.8)in U.S.A., whereas,48.1 (lecture;42.1, practice;6.0) in Korea. RN-BSN program can be taken on a full-or-part time basis in U.S.A., whereas didn't in Korea. Especially, emphasis is place on the advanced nursing practicum that focus on the role of the professional nurse in providing health care to individuals, families, and groups in community setting in U.S.A. 27.7 of mean credits was earned through lecture in U.S.A., whereas 42.1 of mean credits in Korea. It means that RN-BSN program in Korea is the lesser development in teaching method and appraisal method than in U.S.A. Students of RN-BSN program in U.S.A. can earns credit through CLEP, NLN achievement test, portfolio review session etc as well as lecture. Therefore, the authors suggests some recommendations for the development of curriculum of RN-BSN program in Korea based on comparative analysis of RN-BSN curricula in U.S.A. and Korea. 1. The curriculum of RN-BSN Program in nursing was required to do some alterations. Nursing care, today, is complex and ever changing. According to change of public need, RN-BSN curriculum intensified primary care program in community setting, geriatric nursing, marketing skill, computer language. 2. The various and new methods of earning credit should be developed. That is, the students will earn credits through the transfer of previous nursing college credits, accredited examination of university, advanced placement examination, portfolio review session, case study, report, self-directed learning and so on. Flexible teaching place should ile offered. 3. Flexible teaching place should be offered. The RN-BSN curriculum should accommodate each RN student's geographical needs and school/work schedule. Therefore, the university should search a variety of teaching places and the RN students can obtain their degrees comfortably throughout the teaching place such as lecture room inside the health care agency and establishment of the branch school in each student's residence area. 4. The RN-BSN program should offer a long distance education to place-bound RN student in many parts of Korea. That is, from the main office of university, the RN-BSN courses are delivered to many areas by Internet, EdNet (satellite telecommunication) and other non-traditional methods. 5. For allowing RN student to take nursing courses, program length should be various, depending upon the student's study/work schedule. That is, the various term systems such as semester, three terms, quarter systems and the student's status like full time or part time should be considered. Therefore, the student can take advantage of the many other educational and professional opportunities, making them available during the school year.
