  • This stduy aimed to suggest a possible way for a new setting of interior design education through analyzing educational situations of domestic interior design societies. The study showed that interior design education should not follow expressive methods made from practical work which had been popular in the past and it should establish fundamental formation to make interior design education useful in industrial fields through active educationalindustrial complex. Interior design education is not possible without interrelationship with other professional fields and cooperative attitudes among them. The rapid development in the modern industrial world and the ever-growing information processing world regardless of ideology and regiional boundaries indicate that the future of interior design education will be no longer effective with traditional education systems. The idea suggested in this study may be understood as a bridge between the educational reality and its ideal in interior design teaching. The main points of the study are follows. First, the projects of advanced interior design should be focused on increasing the ability for problem solving rather than accumulating basic knowledge. Second, motivation is important for the maximization of the efficiency of educatiov. Therefore a few suggestions in establishing design conditions, as strategies of inducing 'attention', 'self-confidence', 'satisfaction', and 'relevance' are closely examined to propose practical application methods. Third, educational methods should be developed towards creativity in order to increase abilities of thinking and expressiov. Finally, it is necessary to explore various device which help internship participants to get experiences with a sense of practical situations in industrial fields. This could be possibly done by enforcing academic grades for the work done as an internship participation; by employing workmen in industrial fields as faculty members; and by bringing faculty members into actual industrial situations and providing workmen with lectures. A new approach for a better design education seems to be desirable for the future.

  • Although data analysis in earlier days had been sufficiently done only by character user interface, users of these days are more used to the graphic user interface and the requirements for the user interface are gradually varying and increasing. In order to meet users' various wants and needs and to develop well-equipped interface, not only software developers but also professional designers who can complement the technique of the developers are needed. But in reality there are many restrictions and difficulties for developers and designers to work together cooperatively. Moreover, developing user interface in use of 3D type of graphics and animation techniques causes the rise of the developing cost. The thesis attempts to design and implement 3D visualization for real-time sensor data collected by the various environmental sensor and measuring devices, by using WPF (Window Presentation Foundation) which can make both developers and designers work together cooperatively and which makes it possible to implement various multimedia functions such as a 2D and 3D type of graphics, animation techniques, and an acoustic effect.

  • Design sector, one of the key factors defining national competitiveness and one of the creative industry, needs multi-functional and differentiated designers as its structure has changed to knowledge-intensive industry. Design sector is now following the trend of social change through frequent exchanges and joint researches with other sectors. However, education for human resource nurturing in the sector falls far short of social demand for change. As the industry still focuses on educating modeling issue handlers, the problems of excessive supply of human resources in particular sector and imbalance of supply and demand of human resources are adding extra difficulties to the already competitive designer employment market. Against this backdrop, this study recognized that design service sector, which began to be established as a new industry sector, has potential of becoming one of the new domains of movement for designers, explained the necessity of education in the field, and specified practical contents of design work. Also, It analyzed work contents of design service sector, classified them into each stage, and presented them to use in design professional nurturing education.

  • This study aimed to understand experiences of compassion fatigue reported by nurses providing services to oncology patients and families. We conducted in-depth interviews with 8 nurses currently working in oncology. Three main themes and 13 subthemes were extracted from the thematic analysis suggested by Braun and Clarke. Participants experienced compassion fatigue while feeling the sufferings transferred from patients and caregivers. The stress resulted from unique nature of oncology work added to their compassion fatigue. Participants became running low on empathy towards oncology patients and caregivers because of external work environments and negative perceptions on compassion. The results of the study inform health care professionals about increasing awareness of compassion fatigue of nurses working with oncology patients and families and the importance of providing interventions to promote their individual and professional quality of life.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore how hospital nurses decide to quit working as professional nurses using the grounded theory method. Method: The data was collected by individual in-depth interviews with 12 hospital nurses who recently resigned from work and it was analyzed using 'constant comparative analysis.' Result: The core category that emerged was "in search of new balance with self, work, and family". Three stages were identified: 1) "unconditionally accepting the working situation of itself," 2) "weighing advantages and disadvantages of working as a hospital nurse", and 3) "redesigning a future". Each stage contains three major strategies. The major strategies of the first stage are "maintaining a learning attitude", "enduring physical burnout," and "enduring unfair interpersonal relationships". The second stage contains "identifying advantages of working", "identifying disadvantages of working", and "comparing the advantages with the disadvantages". Lastly, the third stage includes "reassessing the aim of life", "beginning to construct an alternative life", and "deciding to quit working at a certain point". Conclusion: The results of the study will help nursing administrators in designing and implementing an effective turnover prevention program for nurses by understanding more deeply the process of turnover phenomenon among hospital nurses.

  • Arthritis patients living in a rural town are thought to have more problems in terms of life stress, social support, and depression than those living in an urban city. But there were few studies which investigated the status of arthritis patients living in a rural town. This study investigated how much life stress they got, which life events were perceived as stress, what kind of social support were most perceived, and how much they were depressed. Fifty six arthritis patients were surveyed using structured questionnaire. Life stress, social support, and depression were assessed using the following scales: Life changes scale, Duke's short scale to measure social support, and CES-D(Center for Epidemiologic Study- Depression), respectively. They were found to perceive life stress in home-work, health and work, in order. And they were found to perceive relatively good social support. But they sot most of social support from their family members especially their spouses and children. Lastly, it was found that they were moderately depressed. Based upon these results, it is suggested that integrative rehabilitation programs which provide professional support and reduce depression are necessary for arthritis patients living in rural towns.

  • The effect of satisfaction through job performance competency on management performance is enormous, for private security industry depends upon human resources generally till quite recently and often makes contact with clients. Although high-quality personnel who were taught professional education are held in high repute in private security industry, the studies of job satisfaction and recruit education for private security guards are insufficient. Consequently, this investigation analyzes the effect of recruit education program on job satisfaction searchingly for incumbent facility guards. The effect of recruit education program for facility personnel on job satisfaction is as follows. First of all, the differences of personal characteristics, training characteristics, work environment, job satisfaction are inspected in accordance with sociodemographic characteristics. After then, there is a remarkable contrast. Secondly, the former from among of learning expectation and self efficacy as personal characteristics has a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically. Thirdly, educational facility and contents as training characteristics have a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically. Finally, work environment including supervisor's support and maintenance has a positive effect on job satisfaction statistically.

  • AIDS is increasing by geometric progression in the world with more seriousness and HIV/AIDS is still spreading. Thus, the study enforced a self-administered survey with 526 dental hygiennics students to carry out an upright recognition and education on AIDS by grasping knowledge and attitude of dental hygienics students who will work at dental hospitals or clinics after graduating in AIDS. As the result, the study got the following conclusion. 1. 51.1% of the students got knowledge on AIDS and the majority out of them got its knowledge through school(35.2%) or mass media(10.8%). 2. The average score of dental hygienics students' knowledge in AIDS was 87.67: The first-grade students(86.00), the second-grade students(88.88) and the third-grade students(88.37) (p=0.000). 3. They had an accurate recognition about AIDS' causes, its infection ways and interceptive methods of its infection way in knowledge of AIDS(p=0.000). 4. In their attitudes for AIDS, the average score was $57.43{\pm}$: The first-grade students(56.19), the second-grade students(57.70) and the third-grade students(58.70)(p=0.001). 5. In their attitudes for AIDS, the students($4.09{\pm}0.82$ scores) responded that they would prepare for AIDS' infection of their families(p=0.004) while, on the other hand, the students($4.06{\pm}0.82$ scores) responded that they wanted to avoid PWA's dental treatment(p=0.001). Therefore, it is judged that vocational education as a specialized worker as well as AIDS education should be realized since it was appeared that they had not enough thought as a mature professional worker. 6. Dental hygienics students who would work at dental hospitals or clinics after graduating were in the environment infected in all diseases and so most of the students($4.23{\pm}0.74$) responded that AIDS education should be included in curriculum.
