Although products with the fingerprint recognition system currently show a rapid growth in quantity, it is also true that efforts to consider the product quality have been lacking until now. Accordingly, this paper analyzed technological elements with domestic and foreign market situations for products with the fingerprint recognition system to develop an evaluation model to support the quality increase by evaluating aspects of product quality for the knowledge information security, identifying the level of quality and deriving directions for improvements. A model for the reliability quality evaluation was constructed that can be applied comprehensively to non-functional elements that have not been done in the existing evaluations central to the security functions by analyzing requirements for the security, performance and reliability in consideration of features on products. It is considered that this paper can make contributions to the overall quality increase for products with the knowledge information security by reflecting features and trends for the fingerprint recognition products and building a model for the reliability and evaluation to perform evaluations by product.

As noted by Pavitt (1984) and Malerbar (2002), previous studies have focused on identifying differences in industry characteristics between the machinery industry and other manufacturing industries. This study considered quantitative and qualitative aspects of performance of product innovation in analyzing what factors determine those outcomes. In particular, this study examined stepwise selection processes embedded in innovation activities by applying a hurdle negative binomial model as well as the Heckman two-step selection model. Results show that factors affecting performance improvement and patents differ, and the threshold effect and the intensity effect of innovation were also distinguished. These results imply that the R&D capability should be enhanced and external innovation is required to be effectively embodied in the organization. Furthermore, motivating employees plays a pivotal role in this technology and skill-intensive sector.
Facing the 21th century, the cultural era, a lot of people show much more concern on cultural products than before. These cultural products can be regarded as our national countenance because they might contain the national tradition and spirit. So, it is quite obvious that the image of a product will be directly related to the national image. The current problems of developing cultural products in Korea are underdeveloped product design and technique, and widespread of poor quality products. Fist of all, it needs to develop competitive designs by reflecting cultural aspects in each product, based on the specialized research and information on our culture. And it is important to invest in developing materials and skills for mass production and the improvement that can excel the past. Also, there are needs to reform the sales structure to connect producers and consumers directly, not through the wholesalers who cause the price rising. Finally, museums as well as government should cope with this cultural competitive era actively by giving the continuous cultural education and inducing the participation from citizens.
The purpose of this study was to assess Korean and non-Korean customers' preferences with regards to Korean foods as well as their opinions concerning the commercialization of Korean foods. The subjects consisted of 268 Koreans and 217 non-Koreans in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Daejeon, Korea and in Texas in the United States. The respondents were asked to assess their preferences regarding 22 Korean food items using a 5-point scale (1: strongly dislike - 5: strongly like). Excluding responses with significant missing data, there were 485 usable responses. Data were analyzed using SPSS Windows (ver. 14.0) for descriptive analysis and t-test. Korean customers' perception and preferences regarding Korean foods were significantly higher than those of non-Korean customers (p<0.001). Among the 22 Korean food items, Galbi-gui (4.32) was chosen to be Koreans' favorite menu, whereas Bulgogi (4.25) was most preferred by non-Koreans. Patjuk was the least preferred by Koreans (3.37) and non-Koreans (3.18) alike. Regarding convenience food product equivalents of the 22 Korean foods, Koreans thought Bibimbap to be the bestseller while non-Koreans thought that Bulgogi was the most sold product. Korean and non-Korean mostly wanted to purchase Bibimbap and Bulgogi respectively, if Korean foods are commercialized as a convenience food. Koreans (44.4%) and non-Koreans (66.8%) reported "taste" as the most important factor when choosing a convenience food. Koreans chose "salty taste" (26.9%) and "simple cooking method" (23.1%), whereas non-Koreans chose "nutrition" (23.5%) and "hot taste" (21.2%) as aspects that require improvement in order to commercialize Korean foods.
This study attempts to find out what kind of service quality is considered important by customers in using the Internet shopping mall and suggests the way to activate the customer relationship. The findings based on empirical analysis are shown here. First, empirical analysis of the contextual factors such as gender, education, and experience levels, shows that what customers perceive as most important in the product purchase is security in terms of the payment and personal information service. The second important service quality factor perceived by customers is responsiveness, particularly the rapidity and accuracy of response to their needs and wants. The customers also considered price, quality and diversity of the product as being important. Furthermore, there is no big difference among other service quality factors. Second, in the different gender context, there is no significant difference between the genders. However, the male group shows an even distribution of factors valued in the service quality, whereas female respondents placed stronger emphases on particular aspects of service, such as security, response, reliability and product quality. Third, in the context of different education level, the payment method between graduates and non-graduates has a significant difference. That is, the non-graduates prefer the credit card and saving through ATM, while the graduates use dual payment method using credit card and another payment method together. Therefore, the various payment methods should be considered according to the customer type, namely graduates or non-graduates. Fourth, in the context of different experience level, the result of the empirical analysis of the factors of the service quality shows no great difference between experienced and inexperienced customers. Both types of customer perceive security as the most important. To sum up, the service quality perceived by the customers of Internet shopping malls is empirically analyzed in different contexts such as gender, education, and experience. Then, the device for the customer relationship activation is suggested. It can be utilized as a guideline for the continuing diffusion of the Internet shopping mall, giving it a competitive advantage against other companies.
From the stupa of Sujongsa-Temple, located in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do province, was excavated a celadon jar with lid, a gilt-bronze nine-storied miniature pagoda and a silver-plate hexagonal miniature shrine, etc. Among them, the gilt-bronze miniature pagoda has been known as a gilt-bronze product since most of its surface has copper tint and the base part has bronze corrosion. Its formal title registered on the Cultural Properties Administration also begins with "a gilt-bronze". However, it was supposed to be a gold product in many aspects: the color and status of the surface, degree of the bronze corrosion creation and the metal thread joining the wind bell. So the necessity to prove its material by a scientific analysis was raised. We examined it with nondestructive method. The results were traces of open-working on many parts of the surface, but no traces of gilding. Moreover, as we perform an XRF analysis, the main component were gold and silver(16%) and some impurities such as copper and iron were found. Therefore, it could be inferred that this miniature pagoda is a gold product.
This study aims to provide insights for developing innovative products, based on reviews from females aged 30 to 70 who bought cosmetic cushions via TV home shopping. Analyzing 200,000 reviews with Selenium and NLP techniques, we found the main audience is in their 50s and 60s, prioritizing radiance, blemish and wrinkle coverage, and adherence. Notably, products with appealing designs were preferred, especially for gifting among relatives and friends. The proposed innovation is Korea's first AI-recommended cushion, utilizing NLP to match customer needs. Key ingredient recommendations include S.Acamella extract and AHA components, chosen for their perceived benefits and consumer preference. The research also highlights the importance of product aesthetics and gift potential, suggesting marketing strategies should emphasize these aspects to appeal to the target demographic. This approach aims to guide product development and marketing towards meeting consumer expectations in the cosmetic cushion industry, making products more personalized and gift-worthy.
Individuals gather information online to resolve problems in their daily lives and make various decisions about the purchase of products or services. With the revolutionary development of information technology, Web 2.0 has allowed more people to easily generate and use online reviews such that the volume of information is rapidly increasing, and the usefulness and significance of analyzing the unstructured data have also increased. This paper presents an analysis on the lexical features of expert product reviews to determine their influence on consumers' purchasing decisions. The focus was on how unstructured data can be organized and used in diverse contexts through text mining. In addition, diverse lexical features of expert reviews of contents provided by a third-party review site were extracted and defined. Expert reviews are defined as evaluations by people who have expert knowledge about specific products or services in newspapers or magazines; this type of review is also called a critic review. Consumers who purchased products before the widespread use of the Internet were able to access expert reviews through newspapers or magazines; thus, they were not able to access many of them. Recently, however, major media also now provide online services so that people can more easily and affordably access expert reviews compared to the past. The reason why diverse reviews from experts in several fields are important is that there is an information asymmetry where some information is not shared among consumers and sellers. The information asymmetry can be resolved with information provided by third parties with expertise to consumers. Then, consumers can read expert reviews and make purchasing decisions by considering the abundant information on products or services. Therefore, expert reviews play an important role in consumers' purchasing decisions and the performance of companies across diverse industries. If the influence of qualitative data such as reviews or assessment after the purchase of products can be separately identified from the quantitative data resources, such as the actual quality of products or price, it is possible to identify which aspects of product reviews hamper or promote product sales. Previous studies have focused on the characteristics of the experts themselves, such as the expertise and credibility of sources regarding expert reviews; however, these studies did not suggest the influence of the linguistic features of experts' product reviews on consumers' overall evaluation. However, this study focused on experts' recommendations and evaluations to reveal the lexical features of expert reviews and whether such features influence consumers' overall evaluations and purchasing decisions. Real expert product reviews were analyzed based on the suggested methodology, and five lexical features of expert reviews were ultimately determined. Specifically, the "review depth" (i.e., degree of detail of the expert's product analysis), and "lack of assurance" (i.e., degree of confidence that the expert has in the evaluation) have statistically significant effects on consumers' product evaluations. In contrast, the "positive polarity" (i.e., the degree of positivity of an expert's evaluations) has an insignificant effect, while the "negative polarity" (i.e., the degree of negativity of an expert's evaluations) has a significant negative effect on consumers' product evaluations. Finally, the "social orientation" (i.e., the degree of how many social expressions experts include in their reviews) does not have a significant effect on consumers' product evaluations. In summary, the lexical properties of the product reviews were defined according to each relevant factor. Then, the influence of each linguistic factor of expert reviews on the consumers' final evaluations was tested. In addition, a test was performed on whether each linguistic factor influencing consumers' product evaluations differs depending on the lexical features. The results of these analyses should provide guidelines on how individuals process massive volumes of unstructured data depending on lexical features in various contexts and how companies can use this mechanism from their perspective. This paper provides several theoretical and practical contributions, such as the proposal of a new methodology and its application to real data.

After more than 100 years of development, rotating electric machines are a mature industrial product. Nevertheless, improvements are still possible for specific applications, and it is likely that the major evolution will be promoted by new materials and unconventional structures. Till now, plastic materials are an infrequent choice for the electric machines structural parts, but pioneering applications, such as aeronautical components, let some technological scouting: a low-weight/high-efficiency plastic axial flux motor for a solar flying platform is presented as an example of combined new-material/new-geometry development. The basic design aspects and the prototyping choices are presented and discussed together with the first experimental results.
