  • Let R be a commutative ring with identity and let I be a proper ideal of R. In this paper, we study the ideal based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) and prove that 𝚪'I (R) is connected with diameter at most two and if 𝚪'I (R) contains a cycle, then girth is at most four girth at most four. Furthermore, we study affinity the connection between the ideal based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) and the ideal-based zero-divisor graph 𝚪I (R) associated with the ideal I of R. Among the other things, for a radical ideal of a ring R, we show that the ideal-based extended zero-divisor graph 𝚪'I (R) is identical to the ideal-based zero-divisor graph 𝚪I (R) if and only if R has exactly two minimal prime-ideals which contain I.

  • Let ${\Delta}$ be a simplicial complex, $I_{\Delta}$ its Stanley-Reisner ideal and $K[{\Delta}]$ its Stanley-Reisner ring over a field K. Assume that ${\Gamma}(R)$ denotes the zero-divisor graph of a commutative ring R. Here, first we present a condition on two reduced Noetherian rings R and R', equivalent to ${\Gamma}(R){\cong}{\Gamma}(R{^{\prime}})$. In particular, we show that ${\Gamma}(K[{\Delta}]){\cong}{\Gamma}(K^{\prime}[{\Delta}^{\prime}])$ if and only if ${\mid}Ass(I_{\Delta}){\mid}={\mid}Ass(I_{{{\Delta}^{\prime}}}){\mid}$ and either ${\mid}K{\mid}$, ${\mid}K^{\prime}{\mid}{\leq}{\aleph}_0$ or ${\mid}K{\mid}={\mid}K^{\prime}{\mid}$. This shows that ${\Gamma}(K[{\Delta}])$ contains little information about $K[{\Delta}]$. Then, we define the squarefree zero-divisor graph of $K[{\Delta}]$, denoted by ${\Gamma}_{sf}(K[{\Delta}])$, and prove that ${\Gamma}_{sf}(K[{\Delta}){\cong}{\Gamma}_{sf}(K[{\Delta}^{\prime}])$ if and only if $K[{\Delta}]{\cong}K[{\Delta}^{\prime}]$. Moreover, we show how to find dim $K[{\Delta}]$ and ${\mid}Ass(K[{\Delta}]){\mid}$ from ${\Gamma}_{sf}(K[{\Delta}])$.

  • This paper presents an energy-efficient (low power) prime-field hyperelliptic curve cryptography (HECC) processor with uniform power draw. The HECC processor performs divisor scalar multiplication on the Jacobian of genus 2 hyperelliptic curves defined over prime fields for arbitrary field and curve parameters. It supports the most frequent case of divisor doubling and addition. The optimized implementation, which is synthesized in a $0.13{\mu}m$ standard CMOS technology, performs an 81-bit divisor multiplication in 503 ms consuming only $6.55{\mu}J$ of energy (average power consumption is $12.76{\mu}W$). In addition, we present a technique to make the power consumption of the HECC processor more uniform and lower the peaks of its power consumption.

  • We consider zero-divisor graphs with respect to primal, nonprimal, weakly prime and weakly primal ideals of a commutative ring R with non-zero identity. We investigate the interplay between the ringtheoretic properties of R and the graph-theoretic properties of ${\Gamma}_I(R)$ for some ideal I of R. Also we show that the zero-divisor graph with respect to primal ideals commutes by localization.

  • In this paper, we give topological properties of collection of prime ideals in 2-primal near-rings. We show that Spec(N), the spectrum of prime ideals, is a compact space, and Max(N), the maximal ideals of N, forms a compact $T_1$-subspace. We also study the zero-divisor graph $\Gamma_I$(R) with respect to the completely semiprime ideal I of N. We show that ${\Gamma}_{\mathbb{P}}$ (R), where $\mathbb{P}$ is a prime radical of N, is a connected graph with diameter less than or equal to 3. We characterize all cycles in the graph ${\Gamma}_{\mathbb{P}}$ (R).

  • The structure of a poset P with smallest element 0 is looked at from two view points. Firstly, with respect to the Zariski topology, it is shown that Spec(P), the set of all prime semi-ideals of P, is a compact space and Max(P), the set of all maximal semi-ideals of P, is a compact $T_1$ subspace. Various other topological properties are derived. Secondly, we study the semi-ideal-based zero-divisor graph structure of poset P, denoted by $G_I$ (P), and characterize its diameter.

  • It is well known that the denominator of the Dedekind sum s(c, d) divides 2 gcd(d, 3)d and that no smaller denominator independent of c can be expected. In contrast, here we prove that we usually get a smaller denominator in S(H, d), the sum of the s(c, d)'s over all the c's in a subgroup H of order n > 1 in the multiplicative group $(\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z})^*$. First, we prove that for p > 3 a prime, the sum 2S(H, p) is a rational integer of the same parity as (p-1)/2. We give an application of this result to upper bounds on relative class numbers of imaginary abelian number fields of prime conductor. Finally, we give a general result on the denominator of S(H, d) for non necessarily prime d's. We show that its denominator is a divisor of some explicit divisor of 2d gcd(d, 3).

  • Let Mp := 2p - 1 be a Mersenne prime. In this article, we find integers a, b, c, d, e and n satisfying $\sum_{t=0}^{n}\;\({an+b\\ct+d}\)\;=\;M_{p^e}$ given a Mersenne prime number Mp. In order to find a special case that satisfies the above results, we reprove an well-known relation of a certain sum of binomial coefficients and a divisor function.

  • Let n ⩾ 2 be an integer, we denote the smallest integer b such that gcd {(nk) : b < k < n - b} > 1 as b(n). For any prime p, we denote the highest exponent α such that pα | n as vp(n). In this paper, we partially answer a question asked by Hong in 2016. For a composite number n and a prime number p with p | n, let n = ampm + r, 0 ⩽ r < pm, 0 < am < p. Then we have $$v_p\(\text{gcd}\{\(n\\k\)\;:\;b(n)1\}\)=\{\array{1,&&a_m=1\text{ and }r=b(n),\\0,&&\text{otherwise.}}$$
