Background: Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. A large proportion of cancer deaths are preventable through early detection but there are a range of social, emotional, cultural and financial dimensions that hinder the effectiveness of cancer prevention and treatment efforts. Cancer stigma is one such barrier and is increasingly recognized as an important factor influencing health awareness and promotion, and hence, disease prevention and control. The impact and extent of stigma on the cancer early detection and care continuum is poorly understood in India. Objectives: To evaluate cancer awareness and stigma from multiple stakeholder perspectives in North India, including men and women from the general population, health care professionals and educators, and cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: A qualitative study was conducted with in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) among 39 individuals over a period of 3 months in 2014. Three groups of participants were chosen purposively - 1) men and women who attended cancer screening camps held by the Indian Cancer Society, Delhi; 2) health care providers and 3) cancer survivors. Results: Most participants were unaware of what cancers are in general, their causes and ways of prevention. Attitudes of families towards cancer patients were observed to be positive and caring. Nevertheless, stigma and its impact emerged as a cross cutting theme across all groups. Cost of treatment, lack of awarenes and beliefs in alternate medicines were identified as some of the major barriers to seeking care. Conclusions: This study suggests a need for spreading awareness, knowledge about cancers and assessing associated impact among the people. Also Future research is recommended to help eradicate stigma from the society and reduce cancer-related stigma in the Indian context.

With the methods of electronic financial frauds becoming advanced, economic losses have greatly increased. The Electronic Financial Fraud Prevention Service(hereafter EFFPS) has taken effect to prevent electronic financial frauds, but economic losses still occurring. This paper aimed to suggest a direction for improvement of the EFFPS, through the analysis of electronic financial fraud cases. As a result of analysis on the fraud cases before and after implementation of the EFFPS, 'Fraud using Smartphone App' and 'Fraud using Calls and SMS' were increased after implementation of the EFFPS, and also the damage cost of 'Fraud using Smartphone App' had increased. Also we revealed some limitations of the EFFPS. For complementing this limitations, authors considered direction for improvement of the EFFPS focus on application of current services/systems related prevention of electronic financial fraud and considered the ways that are make connection with several measurements related prevention currently being discussed and implemented in perspective of defense in depth.
Internet is having strong impact on the consumer's decision making process. Information search has been done actively through internet today. The online reviews can be crucial information cue to evaluate the alternarive products. The online WOM(Word-Of-Mouth) effect depends on the characteristics of information sender, receiver, and WOM. This study is to examine the influence of the online word of mouth on the consumer purchase intention and the moderating role of product involvement, consumer regulatory focus and self-efficacy. Positive customer reviews on the products influence the purchase intention positively and negative customer reviews influence it negatively. Moderating role of involvement in the causal relation between the valence of online reviews and purchase intention is tested. In case of positive WOM, it is predicted that purchase intention for high involvement products is higher than that of low involvement. In case of negative WOM, purchase intention for high involvement product is lower than that of low involvement product. And this study invetigate the moderating role of regulatory focus. In case of positive WOM, it is predicted that promotion focus oriented consumers have higher purchase intention than prevention focus oriented consumers. In case of negative WOM, prediction is that prevention focus oriented consumers have lower purchase intention than promotion focus oriented consumers. Then we examine the moderating role of self efficacy in the causal relation between the valence of online reviews and purchase intention. In case of positive WOM, it is predicted that consumers with low self efficacy have higher purchase intention than consumers with high self efficacy. In case of negative WOM, it is predicted that consumers with low self efficacy have lower purchase intention than consumers with high self efficacy. Emprical results support our prediction and four hypotheses derived from our conceptual framework are all accepted. This study suggest that the level of product involvement, consumer regulatory focus and the level of self-efficacy influence the consumer responses of the valence of online reviews. Therefore marketers need to manage online reviews based on the level of product involvement, regulatory focus orientation and the level of self-efficacy of target consumers.
Because of self-enhancement motives, when involved in social comparison, many people generally value things that are related to themselves, with the representative example being possessions, which is known as the endowment (ownership) effect. However, there are times when someone else's possessions appear to be better than our own, even if they are the same things, which is known as the endowment effect reversal. The purpose of this study was to explore the moderating variable that regulates the endowment effect and the endowment effect reversal by confirming whether the value estimation of others' belongings differed through a regulatory focus as it was surmised that the regulatory focus would moderate the endowment effect of the self versus the others' ownership. Foreign participants were shown the currency of a country they were unfamiliar with and asked to estimate the value in their home country currency. It was found that when people thought the money was their own, people with a promotion focus estimated the value to be higher than people with a prevention focus. However, when they thought it was someone else's money, the regulatory focus moderating effect was not found to be significant, which suggested that the endowment effect may be strengthened or eliminated depending on the individual's regulatory focus. Based on these study results, the implications, limitations, and suggestions for follow-up studies are discussed.
Increasing concerns regarding personal data privacy have complicated the acquisition of customer data through online marketing. This study investigates factors influencing customers' willingness to disclose information via a generative AI-based chatbot. Drawing on privacy calculus theory and regulatory focus theory, we explore how customer regulatory focus and familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot shape disclosure intentions. Our study, involving 473 participants, reveals that low familiarity with the chatbot leads individuals with a prevention focus to perceive higher privacy risks and lower perceived usefulness compared to those with a promotion focus. However, with high familiarity, these differences diminish. Moreover, individuals with a promotion focus show a greater inclination to disclose information when familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot is low, whereas this regulatory focus does not significantly impact disclosure intentions when familiarity is high. Perceived privacy risks mediate these relationships, underscoring the importance of understanding familiarity with the generative AI-based chatbot in facilitating personal information disclosure.
Background: Chinese and Korean Americans have lower colorectal cancer (CRC) screening rates than other racial/ ethnic groups, which may be explained by a low level of CRC knowledge and a high level of misconceptions. This study explores the role of knowledge in CRC screening among these groups. Methods: Chinese (N=59) and Korean (N=61) Americans older than 50 were recruited from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. They completed a detailed survey and participated in focus groups to discuss their knowledge on CRC and CRC screening. Seventeen physicians, community leaders, and patient navigators participated in key informant interviews. Using a mixed methods approach, data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Results: Participants lacked knowledge about CRC and CRC screening. More than half did not know that screening begins at age 50 and there are several types of tests available. More than 30% thought CRC screening was not necessary if there were no symptoms or there was nothing they could do to prevent CRC. Focus group findings suggested understanding about CRC was limited by an inadequate source of linguistically and culturally relevant health information. For example, many participants considered CRC a western condition mainly caused by unhealthy diet. This led to under-estimations about their susceptibility to CRC. Knowledge was positively associated with self-reported screening. Participants who had higher knowledge scores were more likely to report ever having had a colonoscopy and confidence in ability to have CRC screening. Conclusions: Mixed-methods analysis provides multi-faceted perspectives on CRC knowledge and its influence on screening. Study findings can help inform interventions to increase CRC screening among Chinese and Korean Americans.

It is widely known that consumer satisfaction, as well as consumer voice and loyalty, affect firms' performance. Prior studies on consumer satisfaction have focused on expectancy disconfirmation theory and its effects on satisfaction related to disconfirmation with consumer expectation and with perceived performance. This study classified consumer expectation into should-expectation and will-expectation, and investigated how disconfirmation with these expectations affects consumer satisfaction differently based on regulatory focus. Specifically, for promotion-focused consumers, disconfirmation of will-expectation has a more significant influence on consumer satisfaction than that of should-expectation. For prevention-focused consumers, disconfirmation of should-expectation has a more significant influence on consumer satisfaction. The results of this study provide academic insights that not only generic expectation (will-expectation) but also should-expectation play an important role in determining consumer satisfaction according to regulatory focus. In addition, it is expected that the findings can be used as a guide to manage consumer expectation in practice.
This study explore how framing affects the consumer's attitude toward the bundle products. On the basis of the framing theory, response compatibility hypothesis and regulatory focus theory, this study examine the impact of framing on the consumer's choice in multi-alternative set and analyzes the manner in which he/she selects or rejects an alternative. The data obtained from experiment shows that : 1. Consumers focus on the positive attributes of in selection task, however, in rejection task he/she will focus on negative attributes. 2. Consumers are not influenced by prevention framing when he/she selects an alternative however, he/she is not influenced by promotion framing when reject an alternative. Understanding the underlying cognitive process of choosing abd rejecting in multiple alernatives can help marketers to create effective framing strategies for the bundle product.
To accomplish these purposes, First, this research divided hallmark of the environment friendly agricultural products into organic products and pesticide-free products and participants are classified as having promotion or prevention regulatory focus. In addition, consumer value type is categorized into value of social psychology and functional value. Second, construal level divided into high and low on the relationships between the consumer value and purchase intention. The main factors of the consumer value such as value of social psychology and functional value were found from the previous studies. This study is meaningful that the fit of regulatory focus between hallmark of organic products and pesticide-free products in environment friendly agricultural products. The regulatory relevance could moderate the level of persuasion knowledge activation. Also, This research is meaningful that the fit of construal level theory between Consumer value and purchase intention by person's psychological personality. The construal level relevance could moderate the level of marketing activation.
Although women's status in society have been improving, the existing space for women's main activities is still perceived as limited in scope. In this respect, this study analyzes the domestic literature on women's space and discusses the space for women with intent to gain some implications for further studies on space associated with women. Articles on women's space were sub-classified in light of keywords, years of publication, sites, purposes, methods and journal categories, followed by network and frequency analyses. In addition, focus group interview was conducted to explore a new orientation for further studies. The degree centrality was found high in such keywords as 'women's clinics', 'CPTED', 'women-friendly cities' and 'femininity'. In addition, there is a paucity of studies on women's space. Recent studies have diversified the scope of women's space. At the same time, macroscopic 'urban' approaches to women's space have lately been emerging. Finally, the focus group interview on women's space highlighted the needs to further studies about 'femininity, 'maternity', and 'gender equality' in space, and 'safe environment'.
