마이크로휜관 내 단상 냉각 유동 열전달 및 압력 강하 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experiments on Single Phase Cooling Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics in Microfin Tubes)

  • Experiments on the single phase cooling heat transfer and pressure drop with microfin tubes were performed using water as a test fluid. Experimental data were obtained in the range of Reynolds number 3000 ~40000 and Prandtl number 4-6. The data of microfin tubes presented the characteristics of rough surface tube in pressure drop and heat transfer Experimental data were compared with the heat transfer and friction factor correlations of smooth tubes. Heat transfer enhancements of microfin tubes were lower than pressure drop penalty factors. The helix angle is more significant parameter in both of the pressure drop and heat transfer than the relative roughness. The correlations of Nusselt number and friction factor were suggested for the tested microfin tubes. Maximum deviations between correlations and experimental data were within $\pm15$% for Nusselt number and $\pm10$% for friction factor.

감시시험 결과를 이용한 국내원전 압력용기 재료의 Chemistry Factor 및 RTPTS 평가여유도 분석 (Analysis of Chemistry Factor and RTPTS Margin for Domestic Reactor Pressure Vessel Materials by using the Surveillance Data)

  • The chemistry factor and RTPTS margin for domestic reactor pressure vessel materials were analyzed by using the surveillance data which have been obtained from 8 nuclear power plants in Korea. The surveillance data have been used to assess the integrity of the pressure vessel under the pressurized thermal shock (PTS) event. The chemistry factor, which is determined by the Cu and Ni contents of vessel materials, is considered a proper tool to assess the $RT_{PTS}$. The chemistry factors, which were obtained from the surveillance data of domestic reactor pressure vessels, were investigated and compared with those of Regulatory Guide 1.99 in this study. Regressions for ${\Delta}RT_{NDT}$ were performed to expect the chemistry factor as a function of Cu and Ni, and to estimate $RT_{PTS}$ margin. The margin analysis was performed by comparing the regression graphs and standard deviations with those of Regulatory Guide 1.99. The standard deviations calculated by using the domestic surveillance data for base metal and welds are almost same as the standard deviations which are suggested on Regulatory Guide 1.99, Rev.2.

Statistical Characteristics of Southern Oscillation and its Barometric Pressure Data

  • The impacts of El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon on climate are widespread and extend far beyond the tropical Pacific. The phenomenon can be characterized by Southern Oscillation Index (SOI) which is derived from values of the monthly mean sea level pressure barometric difference between Tahiti and Darwin, Australia. Its best-known extreme is the El Nino event. In this study, general statistical characteristics of SOI and the data from which it is derived (i.e. mean sea level pressure data at Tahiti and Darwin) are presented as guidance when using SOI far other analyses. The characteristics include the availability of the barometric pressure data, statistics of monthly pressure data, correlation of SO intensity, frequency analysis of SOI by magnitude and by month (January-December), duration properties of SOI by run analysis.

일시적인 시각차단이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 지면 족저압 분포와 족부면적에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Temporary Visual Block on the Foot Pressure and Foot Area of Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of temporary visual block existence and nonexistence on the change in foot pressure and foot area in stroke patients. Methods: Sixty-one chronic stroke patients volunteered to participate in the study. Foot pressure and foot area were measured using the Biorescue system. The subject maintain a comfortable standing position on the pressure-measuring plate one meter away from the computer. The sequence of the visual variation data while standing on the measuring plate was collected randomly. The data were collected with three repetitions and used the five-second measuring values except the first second and the last second according to each visual condition. All data were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. The significance level for the statistical inspection was set as 0.05. Results: The comparison between the visual existence and nonexistence status showed statistically significant effects on foot pressure and foot area. The visual nonexistence status showed more improvement in foot pressure symmetry and area than visual existence status. Conclusion: This study shows that the foot pressure and foot area for the chronic stroke patients changed according to the visual states. It is predicted that these data will be used in rehabilitation training programs and to present temporary changes in visual status for stroke patients.

스윕을 가진 냉각탑용 축류홴의 성능 특성에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Investigation of Performance Characteristics for Cooling Tower Axial Fans with Sweep)

  • The purpose of this numerical study was to investigate performance characteristics for cooling tower axial fans with sweep. Performance data for the fans with various sweep angles were obtained in terms of the setting angle at a constant flow rate. Viscous flow calculations were carried out to obtain Performance data of the total pressure rise and hydraulic efficiency. A solution of the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings equations was used to calculate the sound pressure level at three times fan diameter away from the fan. The calculated performance data well represented performance characteristics of the cooling tower axial fan. The total pressure rise and hydraulic efficiency at the same setting angle decreased with sweep angle. Sound pressure level slightly decreased for the fan with a sweep angle of 10 degree. No significant effect of the sweep geometry was found on the sound pressure level.

Flow Pattern and Pressure Drop of Pure Refrigerants and Their Mixture in Horizontal Tube

  • Two-Phase flow pattern and pressure drop data were obtained for pure refrigerants R134a and R123 and their mixtures as test fluids in a horizontal tube. The flow pattern is observed through tubular sight glasses located at inlet and outlet of the test section. The flow map of Baker developed for air-water two-phase flow at atmospheric pressure failed to predict the observed flow patterns at the higher value of the mass velocity used in the present study. The map of Kattan et al. predicted the data well over the entire region of mass velocity selected in the present study. The measured pressure drop increased with an increase in vapor quality and mass velocity. A new two-phase multiplier was developed from a dimensional analysis of the frictional pressure drop data measured in the present experiment. This new multiplier was found successfully to correlate the frictional pressure drop.

A low-cost expandable multi-channel pressure system for wind tunnels

  • Over the past few decades, the use of wind tunnels has been increasing as a result of the rapid growth of cities and the urge to build taller and non-typical structures. While the accuracy of a wind tunnel study on a tall building requires several aspects, the precise extraction of wind pressure plays a significant role in a successful pressure test. In this research study, a low-cost expandable synchronous multi-pressure sensing system (SMPSS) was developed and validated at Ryerson University's wind tunnel (RU-WT) using electronically scanning pressure sensors for wind tunnel tests. The pressure system consists of an expandable 128 pressure sensors connected to a compact data acquisition and a host workstation. The developed system was examined and validated to be used for tall buildings by comparing mean, root mean square (RMS), and power spectral density (PSD) for the base moments coefficients with the available data from the literature. In addition, the system was examined for evaluating the mean and RMS pressure distribution on a standard low-rise building and were found to be in good agreement with the validation data.

  • 본 논문은 과도상태의 압력데이터로부터 평형상태의 압력을 예측하는 방법을 제시하고 있다. 압력을 측정하는 곳과 압력센서는 튜브로 연결되어져 있다. 측정하고자하는 압력 (측정압력)이 높은 경우에는 압력센서가 빠른 시간 내에 측정압력에 반응을 한다. 그러나 매우 낮은 압력을 측정하는 경우에는 압력센서가 실시간으로 측정압력에 반응을 하지 못하여 압력지연현상이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 압력지연현상을 파악하고자 여러 가지 실험이 수행되었다. 본 연구의 제시된 평형압력예측방법은 낮은 압력을 측정함에 있어서 측정시간을 단축시킬 수 있다.

Evaluation of spatial pressure distribution during ice-structure interaction using pressure indicating film

  • Understanding of 'spatial' pressure distribution is required to determine design loads on local structures, such as plating and framing. However, obtaining a practical 'spatial' pressure distribution is a hard task due to the sensitivity of the data acquisition frequency and resolution. High-resolution Pessure-Idicating Flm (PIF) was applied to obtain pressure distribution and pressure magnitude using stepped crushing method. Different types of PIF were stacked at each test to creating a pressure distribution plot at specific time steps. Two different concepts of plotting 'spatial' pressure-area curve was introduced and evaluated. Diverse unit pixel size was chosen to investigate the effect of the resolution in data analysis. Activated area was not significantly affected by unit pixel size; however, total force was highly sensitive.

지역사회 성인의 혈압측정횟수 및 연령에 따른 혈압의 차이 (Differences in Blood Pressure among Adults in the Community according to Blood Pressure Measurement Time and Age)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the differences in blood pressure among adults in the community according to age and time of the blood pressure measurement. Methods: This was a secondary analysis study, using data from a 2015 community health survey, conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The data of three-time-measured blood pressure were collected from 337 subjects, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75 years old, which are median ages by each age group. Results: The primary systolic pressure was significantly higher than the secondary systolic pressure (t= 3.46, p= .001) and the tertiary systolic pressure (t= 4.83, p= .001). The secondary systolic pressure was higher than the tertiary measurement (t= 2.05, p= .041). There was no significant difference between the three-time-measured values for diastolic pressure. There was a significant interaction between measurement times and age in the systoic blood pressure readings (F= 1.95, p= .036). However, there was no significant interaction between measurement times and age in the diastolic blood pressure readings (F= 1.03, p= .418). Conclusion: The findings suggest that attention must be paid to the use of blood pressure values in studies or one-time-measured clinical blood pressure values. In particular, the differences in systolic pressure readings taken at different times in the older age groups were significant. Therefore, it is more important to carefully assess blood pressure in adults over the age of 45 compared to other age groups.
