The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of household income, education needs, private education expenses and expenditures of preparation for old age for mothers of school-aged children and to discover the causal relationships among these variables. The subjects in this study were gathered from among 393 mothers living in Daegu with school-aged children from 8 to 19 years old and with wage-earner husbands. The research tool was a questionnaires which addressed the general characteristics of the subjects, household income, the scale of education needs, the scale of private education expenditures, the scale of perceived burden of private education, and the scale of expenditures of preparation for old age. In order to analyze the study data, factor analysis, and regression analysis using SPSS were used, and structural path analysis using AMOS was used. The main results of this study were as follow: First, the greater the household income, the greater the education needs. Second, household income and education needs had no significant influences on private education expenditures. Third, education needs and private education expenditures turned out to have significant effects on the perceived burden of private education expenditures. Fourth, expenditures of preparation for old age among mothers of school-aged children was influenced by the education needs, private education expenditures and perceived burden of private education expenditures. The household income of mothers of school-aged children had no significant influence on private education expenditures. Finally, education needs, private education expenditures and perceived burden of private education expenditures for mothers of school-aged children had a direct effect on the expenditures of preparations for old age. On the other hand, in mediating education needs, household income of these mothers had an indirect effect on expenditures of preparations for old age. The perceived burden of private education expenditures turned out to have the biggest total effect on the preparations for old age of mothers with school-aged children.
The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of the middle aged's perception of successful aging on their preparations for the old age. We used data from 350 participants, aged 35-64 in Seoul-Gyonggi region. The hierachial regression analysis estimated the relation between the middle aged's perception on successful aging and their preparations for the old age. The findings indicate that the middle aged's level of preparations for the old age was slightly higher than average. The level of their emotional preparation appeared highest and the level of economical preparation showed lowest. The perception of successful aging indicated relatively high, and especially the level of comfortable everyday life showed highest. The results also showed that personal characteristics influencing on preparations for the old age were sex, age, marriage status, religion, occupation, monthly income, health condition, level of plan for the old age, and social activities frequency, and demonstrated that the perception of successful aging effected on preparations for the old age positively.
This study is intended to figure out determinants affecting the economic preparations for old age of pastors from major four protestant associations having a church ministerial pension system: the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church in Korea (GAPCK), the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK), the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK), and the Korean Methodist Church (KMC). Thereby, it conducted a survey to 452 pastors from the four religious associations in Korea. The followings sum up the results of this research. First, it was shown that the conventional idea that there is no need for pastors to prepare for their old age or their preparations for old age imply disbelief had been diminished. Second, there were few pastors who had made economic preparations for their old age privately. Third, associations adopting a compulsory church ministerial pension system were PCK, PROK, and KMC indicating a high occupation of more than 75% whereas GAPCK with an optional system showed a very low percentage of 11.5%. Fourth, with regard to the national pension system, the associations except for PROK (61.8%) had more non-enrolled pastors (53.3%), and they responded economic difficulty as the biggest reason for the unenrollment. Fourth, determinants affecting their economic preparations for old age were academic career, total income, church independency, church reserving, and national pension enrollment. Fifth, among the pastors from the four associations, the ones of PROK prepared for their old age best in consideration of GAPCK. According to the results of this paper, the most critical determinant affecting pastors' economic preparations for old age was total income. Pastors with higher income can make church ministerial pension, national pension, and private preparations while the ones with lower income cannot afford for public as well as private preparations; that is, there exists a polarization phenomenon in pastors' economic preparations for old age. Therefore, it is necessary to make devices to narrow the income gap between pastors in religious associations. Second, even in the associations having a compulsory church ministerial pension system, many pastors were not insured, so it is needed to reform or improve the pension system. Third, it is also required to better the national pension system and change the recognition on it.

Recently, there shows a trend in Korea that the rate of the population entering into aging is the most rapidly increasing among the OECD countries. Consequently, This study, therefore, aims at analyzing the forms of portfolio establishment by group, the factors affecting the old age preparation, and the presence of middle-aged households' preparation for the old ages in order to forestall social problems like the poverty ration of elderly that have been caused by the rapidly aging society. The result shows that the portfolio for the old age preparation can be expanded if a combination product of finance and real estate is developed as a means of old age preparation. Upon the results of the study above, it can be seen that the old age preparations differ according to not only the demographic elements, but also the extent to how much resources one holds. Especially, the various factors affecting the holding resources vary householder by household depending on whether they prepare for the old ages or not.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for use in development of strategy for healthy aging preparation and successful transfer to old age by identifying factors influencing quality of life of the baby boom generation. Methods: The data were collected from a total of 205 members of the baby boom generation(aged 48 to 56), and analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS(Version19.0) program. Results: Burden for taking care of children, aging anxiety, preparations for old age, and quality of life according to the general characteristics and health-related characteristics commonly showed a significant difference in education level and presence of stress. The greater the more burden for taking care of children and the deeper the aging anxiety, the lower the quality of life, and the better prepared for aging, the higher the quality of life. Factors affecting quality of life in the baby boom generation included preparations for old age, burden for taking care of children, monthly household income, and quality of sleep. Explanatory power was 32%. Conclusion: For successful transition to old age and for improvement of quality of life in the baby boom generation, a comprehensive approach in micro and macro dimensions will be sought.

The results of this study are as follows: First, most middle-aged women aren't prepared for elderhood. Second, regarding the contents of the educational programs on elderly life, it was found that the following were in high demand: that the part of life design establishes positive old-age form, maintenance of good health, investment knowledge, leisure activities, and effective communication with family members. The purpose of this research is to secure the foundational data for analyzing the mediating role of social capital from the influences of the feeling of self-efficacy of the elderly on the preparations for the old age. The subjects of this study were 518 questionnaires collected from March 20 to April 1, 2016 for the elderly over 60 years old who were living in S city. Regarding the data, the SPSS 20.0 and the AMOS 20.0 were used. And, the results of this research were the following: First, if we take a look at the influences of the feeling of self-efficacy on social capital, the feeling of self-efficacy has the positive influences. And, second, the influences of the feeling of self-efficacy on the preparations for the old age, also, are positive. Third, the influences of the social capital on the preparations for the old age, too, are positive. As such, we can find out that both the direct and indirect effects were shown. Lastly, we can find out that the feeling of self-efficacy has the partial mediating effects on the social capital and the preparations for the old age. Consequently, although the feeling of self-efficacy is insufficient with regard to the economic preparations, we can positively find out that it was able to effectively derive the satisfaction in life by utilizing the social capital. In preparation for the super-aged society, the improvements and the expansions of the social programs and the services resulting from them are needed through the establishment of a foundation regarding the life-periodical, social participation, the establishment of a socially-shared system that can be continued, and the policy of strengthening the social capital.
