This research investigated the retired elderly who had moved to rural areas. The propose of the study was to examine the point at which there must be a difference in the patterns of a return to farming and determine the actual condition of their preparations for migration. This study had surveyed 408 seniors who wereare over 50 years old and had moved to rural areas after their retirement and analyzed the data by the SPSS PC 11.0 program. The results were as follows. First, the relevancy of U-turn, J-turn, and I-turn types that were affected by social demography was found to be dependent on their education levels and family patterns. Second, the actual conditions of the process of preparation by the types of a return to the farming were different according to the motivation and preparation fund. Nevertheless, the most important factor was the influence of their spouses. Third, the actual conditions of the process of adaptation by the patterns of a return to the farming showed no difference between the degree of efforts of the social supportand elevation of the friendship among the neighbors. The recognition of rural life problems were more acquainted towards the area of farming life. Among the 6 problem areas, leisure, health care, and economic problems were highly considered.
Traditionally fatty acid composition used to be analysed by a GC and the sample preparation process includes lipid extraction from sample and subsequent methyl esters preparation, which are time-consuming and cumbersome. As an alternative, simultaneous extraction/methylation methods are being developed for rapid and simplified sample preparation. To optimize one-step extraction/methylation method for analysis of fatty acid composition in brown rice, various reaction factors such as sample to reaction solution ratio, reaction time and temperature, shaking intensity were changed and resultant fatty acid composition data were evaluated in comparison with previous reports. The ratio of sample weight to reaction solution volume was the most critical factor in that higher sample to reaction solution ratio caused overestimation of palmitic acid and linoleic acid composition, resulting in underestimation of oleic acid. Lower reaction temperature also induced overestimation of linoleic acid and underestimation of oleic acid. Reaction duration and the intensity of shaking prior to and during the reaction, however, caused no significant changes in analysis results. In conclusion, the optimum condition was mixing 5 grains (about 0.2 g) of brown rice with $680{\mu}L$ of extraction/methylation mixture and $400{\mu}L$ of heptane, followed by reaction at $80^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours.
The study attempted to examine the structural model of the effects of health status and retirement aging anxiety on middle-aged workers. The subjects were collected from 263 40-59 year old middle-aged workers who work at three institutions in C and G cities. Results First, the variables affecting aging anxiety were aging preparation and health status, and these variables accounted for 52% of aging anxiety. Second, health status had a significant effect on retirement preparedness, and there was a significant indirect effect on aging anxiety through retirement preparedness. There was a partial control effect due to the difference in the path coefficient between health status and aging anxiety in the multi-group moderating effect of 40~49 and 50~59 years. Therefore, in order to reduce aging anxiety, it is important to find ways to prepare for various retirement, and a systematic management system is necessary.

The statistically significant correlation was identified between the awareness of University that provides job information and one's career awareness (r= .203, p<.000), the awareness that University provide job information and one's confidence in employment (r= .236, p<.000), and one's career awareness and one's confidence in employment (r = .356, p = .000). Conclusion : The most of EMT Students are well conscious of the their future employment and has prepared career to be employed their preference job.
Pre-construction primer (PCP), or shopprimer, have been applied to steel plates to control temporary corrosion during ship fabrication. For surface preparation at ship block stage, in common shipyard practices, welding beads, burnt and rusted areas shall be blasted or power tool cleaned and the contamination such as zinc salt shall be removed with blasting or power tool. Whereas, the sound film of PCP needs not to be removed or roughened as the paint having good compatibility with PCP is used for the first coat. In many cases, however, full blasting or sweep blasting on the sound PCP treated block assemblies was requested. There still has been argument about the legitimacy of this practice, thus, it is critical to evaluate the quality of the coating system applied on the sound PCP retained condition, comparing with the one applied on the full blasted or sweep blasted condition. In this study, two different epoxy systems for water ballast tank were applied on the surfaces with sound PCP condition, full blasted condition, and sweep blasted condition. Coating performances such as durability, anti-corrosion, cathodic disbondment resistance were evaluated. The test results clearly indicated that the sound film of PCP needed not to be removed or roughened as the paint having good compatibility with PCP based on inorganic zinc silicate.
Four types of restaurants in Seoul city area were aSsessed in terms of the sanitary conditions and practices, and the microbiological quality. Sanitary check-lists were developed to evaluate the sanitary condition of sampled restaurants. Subjective samples were randomly selected based on the distribution factors of areas, types, and sizes. Microbiological tests on foods, equipments, and utensils were done according to standard procedures and included total plate count and coli forms. Singnificant differences among types or sizes were determined by using one-way analysis of variance. Correlation coefficients were calculated to determine significant relationships between sanitary scores and microbiological counts. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1) Sanitary condition of kitchen and dining areas as well as the sanitary practices of employees were evaluated as the unsatisfactory state with potentially hazardous practices observed. 2) The microbiological quality of food items with high cooking temperature was in good condition, but most food items showed high levels of microbiological counts mainly due to the improper food handling practices of employees. 3) The sanitary conditions of equipment and utensils which were used at preparation and cooking phases, and food containers which were used at the serving phase, were crucial. Serveal guidelines were suggested for the improvement of the working environment as well as the food Quality.
This study was designed to investigate the effect of substitution of strontium for calcium on mechanical activity in isolated perfused spontaneously beating rat hearts. The mechanical activity of the hearts of Langendorff's preparation in conditions of low calcium and strontium-substitution for calcium was compared. The effect of norepinephrine and verapamil were also observed in those conditions. The results were as follows : 1. In low calcium, the mechanical activity of the heart preparation was significantly reduced, but when the equimolar strontium was substituted for the reduced calcium, the activity was kept at similar level to the normal condition. 2. When equimolar strontium was substituted for the total calcium in perfusate, the heart preparation stopped its beating, and it was not restored in spite of reperfusion with normal calcium perfusate. 3. Norepinephrine-induced positive inotropic effect was inhibited in low-calcium condition especially with low concentration of norepinephrine, but not in strontium-substitution for calcium. 4. Verapamil reduced the activity of the heart both in low-calcium and strontium-substitution as well as in normal calcium conditions. From above results, it was concluded that strontium served as a substitute of calcium in maintaining mechanical activity and in responsiveness to norepinephrine, and the influx of strontium through cell membrane is inhibited by verapamil as the influx of calcium.
Kyongdan is a kind of Korean rice cake made from glutinous rice powder. This study attempted to clarify the factors which affect the textural characteristics, and to examine the effects on sensory characteristics and texture of Kyongdan in various soaking time, temperature and volume of adding water in the preparation of Kyongdan. Evaluation was conducted through sensory evaluation and objective evaluation. The degree of gelatinization in various storage time and temperature were evaluated by $\beta$-amylase digestibility. The results were summarized as follows. 1. In preparation, the significant factors were the temperature and volume of water, number of kneading, condition of powder, and the relationships between soaking time and temperature of water and between volume and temperature of water and between volume of water and number of kneading and between volume of water and salt. 2. In sensory evaluation on the various soaking time and temperature and volume of water, the most favorite tendency on the overall quality was at the addition level of hot water of 25% with glutinous rice powder made by soaking for 12 hours. This condition corresponded to the low level of hardness, gumminess, chewiness and the high level of springiness and cohesiveness in comparision with Instron measurement. 3. The degree of gelatinization were decreased rapidly during two days of storage. In storage temperature, Kyongdan which was stored at $0^{\circ}C$, showed the most low level of the degree of gelatinization at the same storage time.
We have investigated on the preparation of BaTiO$_3$ powder at the system of BaO$_2$-TiO$_2$-Reduction ag.-PSCA by SHS. C and Mg were used as reduction agent, and NaCl was used as PSCA (Particle Size Control Agent). The effects of the various reduction agent and its concentration, particle size control agent, reaction mixture mass on the product in the preparation of BaTiO$_3$ powder at the optimum system by SHS were investigated. The optimum conditions for reaction system and composition were BaO$_2$+TiO$_2$+0.11 Mg +0.2C+0.75NaCl in the As atmosphere. NaCl as PSCA showed the effect of controlling the particle size of product as well as the combustion temperature. The particle size of BaTiO$_3$ synthesized at the optimum condition was about 0.5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. And as the mixture mass for the reaction was increased, the more stable combustion wave appeared. We have conducted the sintering experiment at the temperature of 130$0^{\circ}C$, the time of 2 h and the atmosphere of air to measure the dielectric properties of BaTiO$_3$ synthesised in this work, and the sample sintered in this condition showed 2,290 of dielectric constant at 10$0^{\circ}C$ and 13,890 at curie point (129$^{\circ}C$).
Polyester was prepared through the esterification reaction between watsepaper liquefied by ethylene glycol and carboxylic acid. Liquefaction was carried out at the previously determined condition of 100 minutes, $160^{\circ}C$, and 3% sulfuric acid, and the hydroxyl value of the liquefied product was 411 mg KOH/g. In order to remove bubbles produced during the curing step, the method to introduce a slight nitrogen stream into reaction vessel and/or the method to preheat a polyester film at $85^{\circ}C$ before curing step were used alone or in combination. But if curing temperature was $130^{\circ}C$, simple method to cure a film for 5 hours at $130^{\circ}C$ without using both methods was found to be most effective. The polyesters prepared with various carboxylic acids showed significant different physical properties, and maleic acid was best among them. Also, the effect of reaction time and temperature, C/H (carboxyl group/hydroxyl group) ratio, and type of additive on the crosslinkage of polyester was investigated. Lithium hydroxide or citric acid as additive was used to enhance the crosslinkage of polyester and citric acid was proved to be much more effective than lithium hydroxide. The effect of reaction temperature on the crosslinkage was marginal, but the crosslinkage decreased above $130^{\circ}C$. The crosslinkage was 86% when the polyester was prepared at an optimum condition such as $130^{\circ}C$ and 15 minutes of reaction condition, 1.5 of C/H ratio, $130^{\circ}C$ and 5 hours of curing condition, and 10% addition of citric acid.
