  • Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory tract infection caused by a newly emergent coronavirus, that was first recognized in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. Genetic sequencing of the virus suggests that it is a beta coronavirus closely linked to the SARS virus. This disease has non-specific symptoms such as fever, dry cough, sore throat, and gastrointestinal symptoms. This virus can transmit via aerosol and need to droplet precaution to prevent spreading in public areas. Most people with COVID-19 develop only mild or uncomplicated illness. However, about 20% patients require hospitalization, oxygen supply, and intensive care. There is no currently effective treatment available for COVID-19 unresponsive to supportive care. This is review about the recently published epidemiologic, and clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of COVID-19.

  • Every country finds a way to respond a lot of terrors to keep her safe in many ways. Our country, before a terror outbreaks, makes various countermeasures such as strengthening international cooperative systems, strengthening informational ability to countermeasure terror, restricting for terrorists to enter or exit from our country, restricting other countries to input weapons in our country to prevent from terror in the aspect of precaution. A terror is more grave than any other one in behavior, and the criminals have to be punished so much and be discriminated from other ones, too. So, a concept of general crime and terror has to be defined. It is finished in the academic area to some extent, but, it is not sufficient in lawful area so much. Afterwards, it is necessary to establish counter-terror protection laws regulating terror crimes directly. In addition, it is necessary to define concretely and clearly the terror activity and deduce the definition of terrorism.

  • Recently, much attention has been paid to the problem such as sick building syndrome, which caused by the air pollutant indoor. In addition, Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) has been paid attention to as one of the main reason that causes air pollutant indoor, and the exposure of VOCs indoor is recognizes as an important factor which have an effect on the health of resident. In this study, measuring of VOCs in newly houses, and the results are as follows; 1)TVOC(Total Volatile Organic Compounds) indoor is detected high concentration(11314$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎤). 2)There are detected acetaldehyde, methylenechloride, benzene, trichloroethylene and styrene that have to take precaution against human carcinogenicity

  • Foreign body indigestion during dental procedures is uncommon but sometimes associated with severe and life threatening morbidity. The dentist should decide whether multidisciplinary intervention is necessary and how urgently it has to be done. The active removal of foreign bodies depends on the size, shape, type and duration of impaction, along with the location in the gastrointestinal tract. In this report, we presented how to manage gastric foreign body related swallowing during dental procedure and investigated the predictive risk factors, precaution, and prompt management in foreign body ingestion.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find factors influencing needlestick and sharp injuries (NSI). Methods: This study was a descriptive research for current situation of NSI, recognition and implementation for standard precaution, and factors influencing NSI exposures. The subjects were 450 nursing students of 2 universities in Seoul and Kyunggi-do. The data were collected from June to November, 2008. The gathered data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and regression analysis. Results: The 33.8% of 450 nursing students experienced NSI during 2 weeks clinical training. NSI events were more common among third-year students than second-year students. The most common causative device causing needlestick injuries was blood glucose lancet as 12.4%. Frequencies influencing NSI were students' year and experience of needlestick injuries. Conclusion: The results suggest development of education guidelines for nursing students and implementation of continual systematic education and training in clinic to control blood-borne infections efficiently.

  • Growth inhibition of Compylobacter jejuni ATCC 33291 was observed in the presence of various preservatives at various temperatures. The addition of ethanol (0.5% to 5%), hydrogen peroxide (0.05%), acetic acid (1%), propionic acid, benzoic acid, and sorbic acid showed strong antibacterial activities against C. jejuni at pH 5.5 or 6.5. The addition of 1% acetic acid and lactic acid were most effective at $42{\circ}C, followed by $25{\circ}C$ and $4{\circ}C$. This indicated that the inhibitory effect was temperature dependent. In the chicken model system, the practical death rate of C. jejuni in the FBP-media with 1% acetic temperatures ($4{\circ}$C$, $25{\circ}$C, and $42{\circ}$). Therefore, precaution has to be taken in the use of organic acids as a disinfectant in the chicken slaughterhouse.

  • The precaution and treatment for cancer become inevitable with the rising of morbidity and mortality. In this article, a promising new methodology for cancer treatment, sono-dynamic therapy (SDT) was introduced. In addition, we extensively reviewed the molec-ular mechanisms of SDT killing cancer and summarized the classification of sonosensi-tizers. At the same time, research progress of SDT indicates that it is possible to become a developing field for cancer treatment in clinical application.

  • The catalytic enantioselective electrophilic fluorinations of active methane compounds promoted chiral palladium complexes have been developed. Treatment of α-cyano acetates and α-cyanoalkylphosphonates with N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide as the fluorine source under mild reaction conditions afforded the corresponding α-cyano-α-fluorinated adducts in high yields with excellent enantiomeric excesses (up to 99% ee). These reactions can be conducted in alcoholic solvents without any precaution to exclude water and moisture.

  • There are a lot of dental emergency situation. Especially on disabled or pediatric patient with negative behavior, accidental aspiration or ingestion of foreign body (ex: dental instrument) is one of the common accidents in dental procedure. Dentists and dental hygienists must have knowledge about the precaution and be ready to deal with foreign body aspiration during dental treatment, especially on the disabled. This is a case of an accident during the dental treatment of 14-year-old female patient with cerebral palsy. During scaling, prolonged retained primary tooth which had resorbed roots was fell into left bronchi. So we tried to remove the crown by endotracheal approach. Most ingested foreign bodies pass through the gastrointestinal tract spontaneously, but some of them need endoscopic or surgical removal. Moreover aspiration into broncho-trachea can be more serious events and must be treated as emergency situation.

  • This survey study was performed to evaluate the pollution level of playgrounds for children at 49 different sampling sites in Seoul metropolitan. Results were as follows. 1. Soil pH ranged from 6.0 to 9.2. 2. Average concentrations of heavy metals were 0.101 mg/kg of Cd, 4.470 mg/kg of Cu, 0.10 mg/kg of As, 5.35 mg/kg of Pb, 0.017 mg/kg of $Cr^{6+}$ 0.0051 mg/kg of Hg, which were lower than Korean soil precaution level. 3. The SPCs of all areas were below 100, which is 1st grade. In conclusion, the pollution level of playgrounds for children was safe.
