진행파를 이용한 송전선로의 고장점 표정 알고리즘 (A Fault Location Algorithm for a Transmission Line Using Travelling Waves)

  • The conventional fault location algorithms based on the travelling waves have an inherent problem. In cases of the close-up faults occurring near the relaying point and of the faults having zero degree inception angle of voltage signals, the conventional algorithms can not estimate an accurate fault distance. It is because the shapes of travelling waves are near sinusoidal in those cases. A new method solving this problem is presented in this paper. An FIR(Finite Impulse response) filter which makes high frequency components prominent and makes the power frequency component and dc-offset attenuated is used. With this method, the cross-correlation peak is to be very clear when a close-up fault or a fault having near zero-degree inception angle occurs. The cross-correlation peaks can be clearly distinguished and accurate fault location is practically possible consequently. A series of simulation studies using EMTP(Electromagnetic Transients Program) show that the proposed algorithm can calculate an accurate fault distance having maximum 2% or less error.

  • Absorption of lightweight aggregate affects the properties of fresh and hardened concrete, so care must be taken. In this study, according to KS F 2533 absorption is measured to aggregate size, submerged time, holding time and practically ways to maintain a constant absorption was to seek. The findings for quality control of the lightweight aggregate concrete mixture is saturation of the surface-dry aggregate humidity 100% after 24 hours immersion in the environment has been stored for more than two days to absorb the state was able to define. Dry density at the surface of the lightweight aggregate and lightweight concrete mix design and placement is possible for it to apply.

  • Recently, the development of alternative energy technologies has been actively conducted for energy conservation and CO2 emission reduction. Especially, photovoltaic energy has been applied practically in construction industry, and research on the building-integrated photovoltaic system (BIPV) that can replace fossil fuel for building operation and maintenance has been performed. However, this vibrant research has been limited to the use phase of buildings, and few studies have been carried out in the construction phase. The construction duration and the scale of the sites have increased along with the high-rise trend of buildings, and it is forecasted that the temporary electricity use and CO2 emission in the construction phase is increasing. In sight of these developments, this research analyzed applicability of the photovoltaic system for the construction phase that can replace the electricity used on the high-rise construction site.

쇄교자속비를 이용한 3권선 변압기 보호 (Three-Winning Transformer Protection Based on Flux Linkage Ratio)

  • This paper describes a three-winding transformer protective relaying algorithm based on the ratio of increments of flux linkages (RIFL). To minimize the approximation errors, the algorithm uses integration approximation. The RIFL of the two windings is equal to the turns ratio for all operating conditions except for an internal fault. For a single-phase and three-phase transformer containing the wye-connected windings, the increments of flux linkages (IFL) are calculated. For a three-phase transformer containing the delta-connected windings, the difference of IFL between the two phases are calculated to use the line currents, because the winding currents are practically unavailable. Their ratios are compared with the turns ratio. The comparative study between the proposed and differential approximation methods was conducted. The test results show that the algorithm can reduce the errors resulting from the conventional methods.

연산시간지연 및 민감성을 고려한 UPS 인버터용 2차 데드비트 제어기 (2nd Order Deadbeat Controller Considering Calculation Time Delay and Sensitivity for UPS Inverter)

  • Deadbeat technique has been proposed as a digital controller for an UPS inverter to achieve the fast, response to a load variation and to conserve a very low THD under a nonlinear load condition. This scheme contains a fatal drawback, sensitivity against parameter variation and calculation time delay. This paper proposes a second order deadbeat controller, which fundamentally solves the calculation time delay problem and certainly guarantees the robustness of the parameter's variation. RLP(Repetitive Load Predictor) which predicts the load current ahead of two sampling time and FVR(Fundamental Voltage Regulator) which eliminates the fundamental errors of the output voltage are also proposed for the second order deadbeat controller to apply to UPS inverter systems. These are shown theoretically and practically through simulation and experiment.

  • A relaying board is developed for the study of digital relay, which is based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP). The present development is capable of understanding and application for digital relay hardware. To support the design of relaying hardware, first A/D convertor MMI and serial port for communication are embedded, and next a booting cables of three types are supplied. More particularly the relaying board that is convinient to test digital relaying algorithm. This paper concludes by implementing the distance relaying algorithm into a relaying board, the hardware test results show practically high performance.

  • This paper provides a new approach for the load-focused transmission marginal loss factors(MLF). It can be widely applied to power system operations and pricing mechanism in a competitive electricity market. The load-focused MLF is the ratio of required additional generation at a reference bus to the demand increments at a arbitrary bus. The new approach to determine the load-focused MLF was developed under some practically endurable assumptions. Although the suggested method is very similar to the conventional penaty factors in its concept, the method is more efficient than the existing heuristic method for the load-focused MLF. To show its effectiveness and efficiency, numerical test have been performed in IEEE 14-bus system.

  • Before a developed digital Power System Stabilizer(PSS) is installed to real power system, an efficient trial test for installing PSS is needed. In this paper, the performance of developed digital PSS for a single hydro-turbine generator and infinite bus system has been investigated using Real Time Digital Simulator(RTDS) in order to install PSS to real power system practically. The test system was composed of RTDS, three phase voltage/current amplifier and the PSS and the test scheme provided a very efficient way to verify the design and control performance of a PSS to be applied to real power system. The trial installation test through AVR 3% step test and three fault analysis may be guaranteed to install PSS to real power system.

On prediction of random effects in log-normal frailty models

  • Frailty models are useful for the analysis of correlated and/or heterogeneous survival data. However, the inferences of fixed parameters, rather than random effects, have been mainly studied. The prediction (or estimation) of random effects is also practically useful to investigate the heterogeneity of the hospital or patient effects. In this paper we propose how to extend the prediction method for random effects in HGLMs (hierarchical generalized linear models) to log-normal semiparametric frailty models with nonparametric baseline hazard. The proposed method is demonstrated by a simulation study.

  • This paper investigates the identification of discrete time nonlinear system using neural networks with two hidden layers. A New learning method of both NNI and NNC is proposed. For control of the dynamical system we use two neural networks, one for identification and the other for control, and proposed NN control system is based on a framework of MRC. We define a closed loop error. In the proposed learning method, the identification error and the closed loop error are utilized to train the NNI, whareas the control error and the closed loop error are used to train the NNC, The simulation results show that the identification and control schemes suggested are practically feasible and effective.
