The Christianity Education for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era (제4차 산업혁명 시대를 위한 기독교 교육)

  • This study attempts to look at the role that modern Christianity should play on an educational level in order to effectively prepare for the future society in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. In the coming era, various areas of human life, including human labor, are expected to be replaced by AI robots. As new alternatives, the ability to empathize effectively and educate creatively to help develop personality qualities are proposed in a rapidly changing world of uncertainty. Modern Christianity, however, has the responsibility to help solve the problems facing this era in the public as a member of the community beyond the boundaries of the church. The purpose of this study is to examine what education the modern Christianity can present to the world as a public discourse and how that should be done. This study suggests the following points on the proper education for which Christianity will participate in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. First, it is necessary to emphasize a sense of belonging through a sense of community. Second, serious considerations and preparations for education that develops creativity are needed. Third, it is necessary to establish an educational direction that encompasses the entire generation. Fourth, practical education through digital utilization should be implemented in the local community. Finally, Christianity in the era of the fourth Industrial Revolution needs to be more integrated. As the Christian community recognizes that the agenda of the community is its task, it will be able to create a co-existing and symbiotic society.

A Study on the Role of Participants in the Suwon Gobuk Market Landscape Agreement (수원 거북시장 경관협정에서 나타난 참여자 역할에 대한 연구)

  • There is growing concern about landscape agreement with regard to a variety of activities within resident-based agreements in Korea. This study aims to investigate the communication method of the agreement contacting process and its essential role as a bottom-up resident-based process. The study site is Gobuk Market in Suwon city, where a resident-based landscape agreement was successfully made. In this study, the author implemented in-depth interviews and a literature review to understand the meaning of the agreement contracting process and participants' opinions regarding the Gobuk Market case. During the landscape contracting process, the level of participation of residents, experts and the government changed. The study found that diverse communication methods, such as training, agreement information sessions and seminars were conducted during the process of the resident-based landscape agreement and it is crucial to construct healthy relationship among stakeholders. Furthermore, the experts' role is crucial in establishing agreement among residents initially. However, as local empowerment and the willingness of local people grow, each stakeholder's role is changed by stage. Therefore the Central and Local Government have the necessary task of providing institutional strategy. This study has offered practical information on how each stakeholder played their individual role within the landscape agreement.

  • The domestic Gifted education is evaluated to attain many achievements and to reach stable circle in short term. What about the present situation of artistic talent education which is one of the talent education areas, especially music talent education? The result of domestic Gifted education can be comprehensively understood by actually searching the present situation of diverse Gifted education areas. In this sense, this research aims to search the overall situation of domestic music talent education and to draw the tasks to be improved later mainly on the basis of important matters for efficient operation of music talent education. Thus far, many researches have been made mainly through quantitative statistical data or survey materials in the form of questionnaire. Meanwhile, this research tries to deeply understand the problems that have been superficially managed so far by collecting the voice of diverse practical staffs related to music talent education for comprehensive analysis and investigation. This research is meaningful in that it establishes the direction of more effective music talent education in the future by lessening the gap between policy and reality, intent and result, etc through diverse comprehension of actual situation and position related to music talent education and provides the basic materials based on reality to cultivate teacher and administrator and to develop curriculum.

An Approach of Cost-Benefit Analysis for GIS Project Evaluations (지리정보 사업의 비용편익 분석의 고찰)

  • This study begins with emphasis on the approach to public policy development and the extent to which a GIS framework can be used to evaluate projects objectively. This paper relates to public policy making and the use of GIS as a strategic management tool rather than the development of GIS technologies which has been the focus of attention since the advent of the first generation GIS systems in the 1960s. In order to consolidate a view towards public policy, the aim of this study is to show the advantages of using GIS to generate results which could be evaluated by cost and benefit analysis giving options of the alternative methods to estimate the feasibility of projects (both tangible and intangible) in a real public policy scenario. This study also reports that the tangible benefits associated with the GIS projects are better information processing, the easy analysis of data and the cost savings of map updates and printing, whilst the intangible benefits include quality decision making, and precise management of data through computing networks. In GIS context, the task of analysing and evaluating GIS projects is assumed in order to facilitate scientific and quantitative cost-benefit analysis. Previous methods of the cost-benefit analysis has not fully supported the evaluation of the intangible benefits and it has not been possible to make public policy realistic or scientifically understandable limiting decision makers in public domain. With the GIS decision makers are able to explore the potential of projects with this powerful decision supporting tool in practical application. On the basis of its potentials and limitations to cost-benefit analysis, therefore, it can be concluded that more flexible analysis and evaluation methodologies are needed to extend into the intangible benefits. In order to balance the evaluation of both quantitative and qualitative approaches on the cost-benefit analysis new or additional utilities will be required for the next GIS generation appraisal tool.

  • Illustration has been used as a means of human communication since the primitive age. And now it has become a way to express impliedly either the fragmentary or the psychological side of our life. Like it has been said in peter knock's Illustration magazine, an artist said "it was the best article ever read." Illustrator's task is to abstract and practically describe not our daily life, but every moment of the perception an object, whether it is define or indefine. It can inspire stronger perception than any other elegant language. Addition to that the practical use of illustration is increasing ever day. The target has now become various such as man, nature, art, science and so on. Therefore, at this point what illustration requires is creation, new and striking idea. It is because in order to get in to the general's living in the complicate and various society, it must show unique images and appearance. Therefore, now the illustration should induce the work which is based on synetics thoughts, not simple improving skill. Now we must restrain futional and diagrammatic illustration education and be able to thik of free and abundant characteristics. It will eventually help students to feel the value of human life and free themselves from the reality of present education which is getting machinized and instrumentalized.entalized.

  • This study was conducted to determine whether if the emotional response of participants influences senior citizens at a senior citizen center and to develop the qualities and skills of the instructors of the senior citizens. Not only will we provide effective materials but also provide basic materials as well. The emotional response of interpersonal relationships, achievement goal of ability to performance, and influence of orientating themselves. Additionally, the emotional response of interpersonal relationships, ability to concentrate, and confidence. Finally, the achievement goal of task orientation, concentration of ability to performance on orientating oneself, as well as confidence. Therefore, we will be able to determine if the emotional response of a participant influences achievement of a goal and of the effectiveness of senior citizen instructors. This will not only help with practical and cultural issues, but will close the distance between the instructors participants based on consideration of their situational aspects. Furthermore, the sports activities and continued participation of the elderly. Always need to be ready mentally, and rather than the consideration of others as well as the game results, it is important to have an interest in achieving their own standards. Instructors toned to lend support while setting goals for the participants so that they contribute to the personal development and overall quality of life of the participants.

  • The purpose of this study is to take a look at the cases on managing the senior human resources of business enterprises following the significant number of retirement of baby-boom generation and obligatory retirement age of 60 years of age and present the implication points in policies. With respect to the implication of the company, it would urgently require the introduction of programs with long-term point of view for career management strategy from the time of employment to the resignation, settlement of company leave system called chulhyang, expansion of wage peak system, full-time job transfer support center within the enterprise for retirement management, expansion of various consulting, conversion of paradigm on senior human resource management of top management in the enterprise level. In the government level, it is considered as required for systematic supplementation of the chulhyang system, improvement of support system for employment encouragement fund, expansion of national work capability standard-based senior employment field as well as task development, support for innovation of personnel management system, supply of management manual and implementation of job transfer education for life-time conversion period in the government level.

  • Buddhism tends to be accepted as an institutional religion. This is probably due to the historical background in which Buddhism has been accepted as a representative institutional religion along with Christianity since the mid-20th century. In particular, Buddhism is accepted as an institutional religion based on tradition. Buddhism is also accepted as philosophy. Even if the western philosophical background is embraced that defines philosophy as the pursuit of intellectual clarity and wisdom in life, Buddhism is deemed to be classified as a philosophy that allows for the possibility of philosophical criticism without unconditionally believing the truth that Gautama Buddha discovered. The possibility of Buddhism as philosophy like this is directly linked to the possibility of Buddhism for doing philosophy. Doing philosophy in Buddhism can be presented in three processes: keeping a distance from daily life, the observation and concentration based on the distance, and the formation of a new world-view. Doing philosophy is rooted in the same way as meditation in the lives of people tired from post-capitalist everyday life. Nonetheless, Buddhism clearly has the characteristics of religion, thus posing a challenge of establishing a new relationship between religion and philosophy. The tradition of a strict separation between the religion and philosophy in Christian civilization is still working as a factor that keeps Buddhism from being classified as philosophy. In cases where the pursuit of intellectual clarity and practical wisdom in life is incorporated into the purpose of philosophy, Buddhism can be categorized into having the distinctive function of religion "spiritual peace", and sharing the common function of philosophy and religion "enlightenment." In that sense, it can also be an important task to seek a new perspective on the relationship between religion and philosophy.

Examining the Family and Consumer Sciences Curriculum in the Unites States for Developing the Home Economics Elective Courses for South Korean High Schools: A Case Study of the State of Ohio (고등학교 가정과 선택과목 개발을 위한 미국 고등학교 가정과 교육과정 사례 연구: 미국 오하이오 주(州)를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to review and draw lessons from the case of Family and Consumer Sciences(FCS) curriculums in Ohio and to provide implications to the designing of HE elective courses for high schools in Korea. For this, 19 curriculum documents that are available from the website of the Ohio Ministry of Education were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the following conclusions were drawn: First, following the example of the Ohio Pathway which was developed in consideration of the characteristics of the field, college admission, student's interests, and the societal change, it is recommended that Korean HE curriculum consider developing HE Pathway that reflects the characteristics of Korean HE education system. Second, Ohio's FCS curriculum offers a well-structured system consisting of total 18 courses and contents within the four broad FCS Pathway themes. Thus, it is suggested that the Korean Home Economics Education Association organize a task force to develop 'HE Pathways'-'College majors'-'Elective career focused courses', and student-centered career exploratory elective courses focusing on the students' needs. Third, it is necessary for HE teachers and professors to newly develop basic elective courses which lays the foundation for understanding of Home Economics and help students to follow advanced HE elective courses. Lastly, there is a need for designing career-focused elective courses that can provide practical resources for the college admission process by interviewing college admission officers, education specialists, career counselors, college admission specialists, home economic professors and teachers.

Director Yim Jin-Taek's Grounded Aesthetics of Community-based Theatre (임진택의 공동체 지향 연출론: 공동체적 세계관과 미학의 발현 -1970년대와 80년대 대학 공동체 마당굿 퍼포먼스 연출 시기에 초점을 맞추어-)

  • In this paper, based on the theory of performance studies and community-based theatre, I venture to explicate the socio-political significance of director Yim Jin-Taek's community-based performance called 'madanggut', which is heavily based on elements of indigenous culture. Yim's madanggut utilizes elements of indigenous cultures and searches for 'the Korean ethnic (arche)type' as 'the ideal Korean type' or 'genuine Korean-ness' for the reconstruction of 'the Korean ethnic community.' This paper interrogates the major task of Yim Jin-Taek's madanggut, which ideologically promulgates the idea of ethnocentric patriarchy supported by the traditional (mainly Confucianist) notion of 'community' - inquiring if this type of theatre can provide useful and practical prospects for imagining a more democratic and plural civilian society in Korea today, when the interaction of globalization, nationalism, regionalism, and localism simultaneously impact our everyday life and cultural identification. Regarding the recent global phenomenon of the resurgence of nationalism, I looked at madanggut's use of symbolic resources from the past for imaginative communal bonding as a nation. But, the claimed homogeneity of the national past by means of 'nation conflation' of different social groups is an illusionary conceptualization, and the national historiography silences memories of the marginalized groups and denies their histories. It is certain that in Korea nationalism has historically performed an important function during the colonization and democratization period. Nevertheless, as Yim's Nokdukkot realized, it cannot be overlooked that as a representative of 'the Korean ethnic community,' 'the protecting man/the sacrificial woman' is contradictory to the plural and lateral thinking of participatory democracy in community-building. It is time to think about a new political language that relates individuals to the community and nation. 'The ethnic type' cannot represent the whole nation and the members of the nation should be the examples of the community they belong to for a more democratic society. I have selected Yim's several community-based works mainly from the 1970s to the 1980s since the works provide grounding images, symbols, metaphors, and allegories pertinent to discussing how 'the Korean ethnic community' has been narrativized through the performances of madanggut during the turbulent epoch of globalization. I hope that this paper presents Yim's grounded aesthetics of community-based theatre with fully contoured critical views and ideas.
