칼만필터링에 의한 디지털 거리계전 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Digital Distance Relaying Techniques Using Kalman Filtering)

  • In this study, Kalman filtering theory is applied to the estimation of symmetrical components from fault voltage and current signal when it comes to faults with the power system. An algorithm for estimating fault location accurately and quickly by calculating the symmetrical components from the extracted fundamental voltage phasor and current phasor is presented. Also, to confirm the validity of digital distance relaying techniques using Kalman filtering, the experimental results obtained by using the digital simulation of power system is shown.

  • This paper discusses the dynamic test of distance relay on transmission line connected unified power flow controller(UPFC) using the real-time digital simulator(RTDS). Depending on operating conditions of UPFC, the trip characteristics of distance relay is influenced by the prefault conditions. In this paper, UPFC is established using the RTDS and then relay test is performed on real time.

Study on Thermal Analysis for Optimization LED Driver ICs

  • This research was analyzed thermal characteristics that was appointed disadvantage when smart LED driver ICs was packaged and we applied extracted thermal characteristics for optimal layout design. We confirmed reliability of smart LED driver ICs package without additional heat sink. If the package is not heat sink, we are possible to minimize package. For extracting thermal loss due to overshoot current, we increased driver current by two and three times. As a result of experiment, we obtained 22 mW and 49.5 mW thermal loss. And we obtained optimal data of 350 mA driver current. It is important to distance between power MOSFET and driver ICs. If the distance was increased, the temperature of package was decreased. And so we obtained optimal data of 3.7 mm distance between power MOSFET and driver ICs. Finally, we fabricated real package and we analyzed the electrical characteristics. We obtained constant 35 V output voltage and 80% efficiency.

거리측정센서를 이용한 자동주행 전동 휠체어 시스템 (Autonomous Navigation System of Power Wheelchair using Distance Measurement Sensors)

  • The power wheelchair is an important and convenient mobility device. The demand of power wheelchair is increasing for assistance in mobility. In this paper we proposed a robotic wheelchair for mobility aid to reduce the burden from the disabled. The main issue in an autonomous wheelchair is the automatic detection and avoidance of obstacles and going to the pre-designated place. The proposed algorithm detects the obstacles and avoids them to drive the wheelchair to the desired place safely with panning scan from sensors of distance measurement and fuzzy control. By this way, the disabled will not always have to worry about paying deep attention to the surroundings and his path.

  • 본 논문에서는 제주풍력단지에 대한 측정 데이터(measured wind power outputs)를 기반으로 제주 실측 풍력데이터를 이용하여 공간적인 상관관계 분석을 수행하고, 상관관계 감쇠거리(CDD; Correlation Decay Distance)를 적용하여 새로운 풍력발전단지에 대한 공간모델 적용 시 기존 풍력발전단지의 포함여부(set 또는 subset)를 결정하는 기준(Threshold)으로 활용하고자 한다. 이를 통해 풍력발전출력 예측에 공간모델을 적용하고, 정확도를 향상시키는 방안을 연구하고자한다.

Empirical Comparisons of Disparity Measures for Partial Association Models in Three Dimensional Contingency Tables

  • This work is concerned with comparison of the recently developed disparity measures for the partial association model in three dimensional categorical data. Data are generated by using simulation on each term in the log-linear model equation based on the partial association model, which is a proposed method in this paper. This alternative Monte Carlo methods are explored to study the behavior of disparity measures such as the power divergence statistic I(λ), the Pearson chi-square statistic X$^2$, the likelihood ratio statistic G$^2$, the blended weight chi-square statistic BWCS(λ), the blended weight Hellinger distance statistic BWHD(λ), and the negative exponential disparity statistic NED(λ) for moderate sample sizes. We find that the power divergence statistic I(2/3) and the blended weight Hellinger distance family BWHD(1/9) are the best tests with respect to size and power.

Power analysis attack resilient block cipher implementation based on 1-of-4 data encoding

  • Side-channel attacks pose an inevitable challenge to the implementation of cryptographic algorithms, and it is important to mitigate them. This work identifies a novel data encoding technique based on 1-of-4 codes to resist differential power analysis attacks, which is the most investigated category of side-channel attacks. The four code words of the 1-of-4 codes, namely (0001, 0010, 1000, and 0100), are split into two sets: set-0 and set-1. Using a select signal, the data processed in hardware is switched between the two encoding sets alternately such that the Hamming weight and Hamming distance are equalized. As a case study, the proposed technique is validated for the NIST standard AES-128 cipher. The proposed technique resists differential power analysis performed using statistical methods, namely correlation, mutual information, difference of means, and Welch's t-test based on the Hamming weight and distance models. The experimental results show that the proposed countermeasure has an area overhead of 2.3× with no performance degradation comparatively.

Implementation of Effective Wireless Power Transmission Circuit for Low Power System

  • Wireless power transfer (WPT) is the technology that enables the power to transmit electromagnetic field to an electrical load without the use of wires. There are two kinds of magnetic resonant coupling and inductive coupling ways transmitting from the source to the output load. Compared with microwave method for energy transfer over a long distance, the magnetic resonance method has the advantages of reducing the barrier of electromagnetic wave and enhancing the efficiency of power transmission. In this paper, the wireless power transfer circuit having a resonant frequency of 13.45 MHz for the low power system is studied, and the hardware implementation is accomplished to measure the power transmission efficiency for the distance between the transmitter and the receiver.

  • Distance relay is tripped by the line impedance calculated at the relay point. Accordingly the accurate operation depends on the precise calculation of line impedance. Impedance can be accurately calculated in case of overhead line. However, in case of power cables or combined transmission lines, impedance can not be accurately calculated because cable systems have the sheath, grounding wires, and cable cover protection units (CCPUs). There are also several grounding systems in cable systems. Therefore, if there is a fault in cable system, these terms will severely be caused much error to calculation of impedance. Accordingly the proper compensation should be developed for the correct operation of the distance relay. This paper presents the distance calculating algorithm in combined transmission line with power cable using wavelet transform. In order to achieve such purpose, judgement method to discriminate the fault section in both sections was proposed using db1 coefficient summation. And also, error compensation factor was proposed for correct calculation of impedance in power cable.

패션상품의 광고에 나타난 문화적 특성과 소구유형 (Cultural Characteristics and Product Appeals Reflected on Fashion Ads)

  • This research was to see if the fashion product ads are standardized or differentiated, and to find what were the determinants if any differentiation existed. The purpose of this study was to identify cultural characteristics significant on marketing fashion produce. In addition, the relative importance of product appeals between rational and emotional in the fashion ads was examined. Hofstede's(l991) three cultural characteristics dimensions such as individualism-collectivism, power distance, masculinity-femininity were used. Content analysis was applied in the study. Magazine ads of apparel, cosmetics and accessories were collected from France, Japan, Korea and the US in 1999-2000. Cultural characteristics of the fashion ads were evaluated and compared in terms of country, product type and product involvement. Also ten consumption appeals were examined for county and product type. ANOVA, Duncan test and $X^2$ test were applied to analyze data. The results were shown as follows: First, all the cultural characteristics such as individualism-collectivism, power distance, and femininity-masculinity were different among countries. Second, two product appeals were significantly different among countries. Hedonic appeals were dominant fur France and the US while those were not for Korea and Japan. Third, product involvement level had significant impact on power distance characteristic and product appeals. Ads of high involvement fashion goods showed larger power distance and more emotional appeals. In conclusion, global fashion ads should be differentiated in terms of some cultural characteristics and product appeals.
