  • This study was prepared to optimize $\alpha$-azuki bean powder content by sensory evaluation method when manufacturing bread with added $\alpha$-azuki bean powder. These sensory characteristics were designed to investigate sensory evaluation about appearance, color, texture, taste and overall acceptability of small red bean bread by balanced incomplete block design. According to evaluated mean of adjusted treatments, appearance was represented high value in bread with added 3% and 6% $\alpha$-azuki bean powder than bread without $\alpha$-azuki bean powder. Bread without $\alpha$-azuki bean powder was revealed maximum sensory score value of color among whole treatments and vread with added 6% $\alpha$-azuki bean powder was revealed second highest sensory value. As $\alpha$-azuki bean powder content increased, sensory score of texture, taste and overall acceptability increased. and bread added 12% $\alpha$-azuki bean powder revealed maximum sensory score. On the results of this research about sensory characteristics for manufacturing bread with added $\alpha$-azuki bean powder, bread with added $\alpha$-azuki bean powder was considered optimum when12% $\alpha$-azuki bean powder was added wheat flour because of highest score of texture, taste and overall acceptability in spite of lower score of appearance and color.

  • A new yield criterion for metal powder compaction based on continuum mechanics has been proposed. It includes three parameters to characterize the geometrical hardening of powder compact and strain hardening of incompressible metal matrix. The elasto-plastic finite element method to describe compaction of metal powders has been formulated using the new yield criterion. The values of parameters in the yield criterion can be determined using cold isostatic pressing(CIP). The finite element method can simulate compaction behavior of various copper powders.

  • Ag spot-coated Cu nanopowders were synthesized by a hydrothermal-attachment method (HA) using oleic acid capped Ag hydrosol. Cu nano powders were synthesized by pulsed wire exploding method using 0.4 mm in diameter of Cu wire (purity 99.9%). Synthesized Cu nano powders are seen with comparatively spherical shape having range in 50 nm to 150 nm in diameter. The oleic acid capped Ag hydrosol was synthesized by the precipitation-redispersion method. Oleic acid capped Ag nano particles showed the narrow size distribution and their particle size were less than 20 nm in diameter. In the case of nano Ag-spot coated Cu powders, nanosized Ag particles were adhered in the copper surface by HAA method. The components of C, O and Ag were distributed on the surface of copper powder.

  • Ozone treatment was applied to ginseng powder for the improving hygienic quality of ginseng powder. A bacterial strain was isolated form ginseng powder contaminated. The strain designated as GT4, was identified as Escherichia coli species by IMVIC test method. Ozone inhibited strongly total bacteria and coliforms in ginseng powder(initial concentration 103/g) at 0.35 ppm. High ozone concentration reduced death time of the total bacteria in ginseng powder. However, ozone treatment caused significant degradation in saponins of ginseng powder. Ozone treatment also caused a increase in Hunter's color L value and decrease in a and b values of ginseng powder.

  • Numerical simulations of the powder extrusion need an appropriate pressure-dependent constitutive model for densification modeling of the magnesium powders. The present research investigated the effect of representative powder yield function of the critical relative density model. We could obtain reasonable physical properties of pure magnesium powders using cold isostatic pressing. The proposed densification model was implemented into the finite element code. The finite element analysis was applied to simulation of powder extrusion of pure magnesium powder in order to investigate the densification and processing load at room temperature.

  • A new method has been developed to fabricate microcomponents by a combination of photolithography and sintering of metallic powder mixtures, without the need for compression and the addition of Mg. This involves (1) the fabrication of a micromould, (2) mould filling of the powder/binder mixture, (3) debinding and (3) sintering. The starting powdered materials consisted of a mixture of aluminium powder(average size of 2.5 um) and alloying elemental powder of Cu and Sn(less than 70nm), at appropriate proportions to achieve nominal compositions of Al-6wt%Cu, Al-6wt%Cu-3wt%Sn. This paper presents detailed investigation of debinding behaviour and microstructural development.

  • This paper described the preparation method for composing high-grade synthetic diamond by water atomizing using FeNi30 powder catalyst. The objective of this article is about powder making process using super high water atomizing in the atmosphere of inert gas, and then corroded the powder with a corrosion inhibitor. Finally, FeNi30 catalyst powder with lower oxygen content and good sphericity is produced. The experiment of making diamonds by using cubic press and the performance of the diamonds are also discussed.

  • The mechanical properties of ferrous powder metallurgy (P/M) materials are directly related to their microstructure. Ferrous P/M materials with sufficient hardenability will develop microstructures containing significant percentages of martensite in the as-sintered condition. Recently, sinter-hardening has developed into a highly cost effective production method through hardened P/M parts without the need for additional heat-treatments. This paper reviews the advances of sinter-hardening as well as some key processing parameters such as sintering temperature, cooling rate, tempering required to produce high quality sinter-hardened components. Specific topics including effect of alloying elements, alloying methods, and the Characterization and observation of microstructure are discussed.
