  • North Korea has various ballistic missiles from short range to long range such as inter continental ballistic missiles. Short range ballistic missiles such as SCUD series are threatening to Korea peninsula. Therefore Korea is constructing various missile defense systems to protect country. Parameters influencing the received power from the target to the radar are transmitting power, antenna gain, carrier frequency, RCS(Radar Cross Section) of target and distance from radar to target. Especially, RCS and distance from target are not radar performance defined parameters but external parameters. Therefore radar deployment position that large RCS can be observed and target to radar distance should be considered in parallel to improve target detection probability. In this paper, RCS pattern of SCUD-B ballistic missile is calculated, received power is analyzed based on radar deployment position during ballistic missile trajectory and methode for optimum radar deployment position to improve target detection probability is suggested.

  • In this paper, Water Entry Point Selection Algorithm(WEPSA) for selecting an optimal Water Entry Point of anti-submarine missiles which maximizes Detection Probability about a given target was investigated. WEPSA is a method which decides the position of an optimal Water Entry Point with calculating the target Detection Probability of a torpedo in the whole domain which centered by the target, performing the Monte-Carlo Simulations which include errors for the target informations and for weapon delivery. We can decide an optimal Water Entry Point of anti-submarine missiles which maximizes Detection Probability about a given target with WEPSA, if we get target informations about target range, target bearing, target speed and target course from Combat Systems.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), acting as mobile base stations (BSs), can be deployed in the typical fifth-generation mobile communications (5G) scenarios for the purpose of substantially enhancing the radio coverage. Meanwhile, UAV aided underlay device-to-device (D2D) communication mode can be activated for further improving the capacity of the 5G networks. However, this UAV aided D2D communication system is more vulnerable to eavesdropping attacks, resulting in security risks. In this paper, the D2D receivers work in full-duplex (FD) mode, which improves the security of the network by enabling these legitimate users to receive their useful information and transmit jamming signal to the eavesdropper simultaneously (with the same frequency band). The security communication under the UAV coverage is evaluated, showing that the system's (security) capacity can be substantially improved by taking advantage of the flexible radio coverage of UAVs. Furthermore, the closed-form expressions for the coverage probabilities are derived, showing that the cellular users (CUs)' secure coverage probability in downlink transmission is mainly impacted by the following three factors: its communication area, the relative position with UAV, and its eavesdroppers. In addition, it is observed that the D2D users or DUs' secure coverage probability is relevant to state of the UAV. The system's secure capacity can be substantially improved by adaptively changing the UAV's position as well as coverage.

  • Currently, increasing the number of artillery units requires more deployment space in FABA. However, available positions of artillery units in FEBA is limited due to mountainous terrains. Therefore, it is hard to find enough artillery position space in accordance with the field artillery mannual. This paper studies on determination of the size of battery position in order to maximize the firing-effectiveness and to minimize the enemy threat. Also, it studies the possibility of reducing the size of a battery position. The optimum size of a battery position id obtained by using Dantzig's model and Supper Quick II model which produces the probability of kill data with various input data. As a result, it shows that the size of battery position can be reduced without decreasing the firing-effectiveness.

  • A method is presented of dynamic determination of mode transition probability for IMM in order to improve the accuracy performance of maneuvering target tracking for air traffic control surveillance processing system under multiple radar environment. It is shown that dynamic determination of mode transition probability based on the time intervals between the data input from multiple radars gives the optimized performance in terms of position estimation accuracy.

  • Sufficient bandwidth that can support multimedia service has to be provided in the next generation wireless communication system. In this paper, the effective handoff scheme considering the position of mobile terminal is proposed. In addition, the dynamic channel allocation scheme is proposed. The shared channel in this algorithm can reduce more the blocking probability and the dropping probability. The proposed algorithms are simulated by SMPL library in C language. The simulation results show that the blocking probability and the dropping probability of the call can be reduced up to $60\%\;and\;10\%$ using the proposed algorithms, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a docking assessment algorithm for an autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with sensor uncertainties. The proposed algorithm consists of two assessments, state assessment and probability assessment. The state assessment verifies the reachability by comparing forward distance to the docking station with expected distance to reach same depth as the docking station and necessity for correcting its route by comparing calculated inaccessible areas based on turning radius of the AUV to position of the docking station. When the AUV and the docking station is close enough and the state assessment is satisfied, the probability assessment is conducted by computing success probability of docking based on the direction angle, relative position to the docking station, and sensor uncertainties of the AUV. The final output of the algorithm is decided by comparing the success probability to threshold whether to try docking or to correct its route. To verify the validation of the suggested algorithm, the scenario that the AUV approaches to the docking station is implemented through Matlab simulation.

  • Quantization error, generated by the quantization process of an image, is inherent in computer vision. Because, especially in stereo vision, the quantization error in a 2-D image results in position errors in the reconstructed 3-D scene, it is necessary to analyze it mathematically. In this paper, the analysis of the probability density function (pdf) of quantization error for a line-based stereo matching scheme is presented. We show that the theoretical pdf of quantization error in the reconstructed 3-D position information has more general form than the conventional analysis for pixel-based stereo matching schemes. Computer simulation is observed to surpport the theoretical distribution.

  • This paper presents WMR modelling and path tracking algorithm using Inertial Navigation System. The error models of gyroscope and accelerometers in INS are derived by Gauss-Newton method which is nonlinear regression model. Then, to test availability of error model, we pursue the fitness diagnosis about probability characteristic for real data and estimated data. Performance of inertial sensor with error model and Kalman filter is pursued by comparing with one without them. The computer simulation shows that position error remarkably decrease when error compensation is applied.
