  • We have developed a new measurement system by using GPS to complement those errors. In general, GPS receivers are composed of an antenna, tuned to the frequencies transmitted by the satellites, receiver-processors, and a highly-stable clock. The GPS mounted on the roof of TT4 in KHST receives a signal from the RS232 communication port, and it is connected to the network system in TT3 after converting with TCPIP communication. It is able to track the position of vehicle and synchronize the signal from different measurement system simultaneously. Therefore it is able to chase the fault occurrence, track inspection and electrical interruptionat real-time situation more accurately. There is not an error coursed by vehicle conditions such as slip and the slide.

L-모멘트법에 의한 적정 설계홍수량의 유도 (Derivation of Optimal Design Flood by L-Moments)

  • This study was conducted to derive optimal design floods by Generalized Extreme-value(GEV) distribution for the annual maximum series at ten watersheds along Han, Nagdong, Geum, Yeongsan and Seomjin river systems. Adequacy for the analysis of flood data used in this study was established by the tests of Independence, Homogeneity, detection of Outliers. L-coefficient of variation, L-skewness and L-kurtosis were calculated by L-moment ratio respectively. Parameters were estimated by the Methods of Moments and L-Moments. Design floods obtained by Methods of Moments and L-Moments using different methods for plotting positions in GEV distribution were compared by the relative mean and relative absolute error. It was found that design floods derived by the method of L-moments using weibull plotting position formula in GEV distribution are much closer to those of the observed data in comparison with those obtained by method of moments using different formulas for plotting positions in view of relative mean and relative absolute error.

  • In this paper we theoretically analyze the probability of error for M-ary pulse position modulation (PPM) ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access system using Gaussian monopulse. The optimum detection of UWB signals using M-ary orthogonal PPM in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multiple access interference (MAI) is considered, then receiver signal to noise power ratio (SNR) and upper bound fur the bit error rate (BER) are derived. Numerical results considering some practical parameters are presented.

  • This pper describes a digital sensorless drive of permanent magnet brushless DC motors. In order to detect in real time the rotor positions of which Emf becomes zero, terminal voltages are sampled during PWM duty cycle. This method generates detection error in indirect sensed position, which is the harmonic component of PWM frequency. In this paper, the drive adopted Butterworth low pass filter for rejection of the sensing error and for accurate estimation of commutation time. Analytical design process of the digital filter is proposed and the experimental results show that the performance of the proposed sensorless drive is superior to that of the sensorless drives without filterint.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for the moment of inertia estimation. The algorithm finds the moment of inertia observing the position error signal, which contains an error information of moment of inertia, generated by speed observer. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is easily realized in the observer -based speed detection method. The experimental results are also presented to confirm the performance of moment of inertia estimation method. The results show that the moment of inertia converges to the actual value with the proposed method.

AAM 기반 얼굴 표정 인식을 위한 입술 특징점 검출 성능 향상 연구 (A Study on Enhancing the Performance of Detecting Lip Feature Points for Facial Expression Recognition Based on AAM)

  • AAM(Active Appearance Model)은 PCA(Principal Component Analysis)를 기반으로 객체의 형태(shape)와 질감(texture) 정보에 대한 통계적 모델을 통해 얼굴의 특징점을 검출하는 알고리즘으로 얼굴인식, 얼굴 모델링, 표정인식과 같은 응용에 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만, AAM알고리즘은 초기 값에 민감하고 입력영상이 학습 데이터 영상과의 차이가 클 경우에는 검출 에러가 증가되는 문제가 있다. 특히, 입을 다문 입력얼굴 영상의 경우에는 비교적 높은 검출 정확도를 나타내지만, 사용자의 표정에 따라 입을 벌리거나 입의 모양이 변형된 얼굴 입력 영상의 경우에는 입술에 대한 검출 오류가 매우 증가되는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 입술 특징점 검출을 통해 정확한 입술 영역을 검출한 후에 이 정보를 이용하여 AAM을 수행함으로써 얼굴 특징점 검출 정확성을 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 AAM으로 검출한 얼굴 특징점 정보를 기반으로 초기 입술 탐색 영역을 설정하고, 탐색 영역 내에서 Canny 경계 검출 및 히스토그램 프로젝션 방법을 이용하여 입술의 양 끝점을 추출한 후, 입술의 양 끝점을 기반으로 재설정된 탐색영역 내에서 입술의 칼라 정보와 에지 정보를 함께 결합함으로써 입술 검출의 정확도 및 처리속도를 향상시켰다. 실험결과, AAM 알고리즘을 단독으로 사용할 때보다, 제안한 방법을 사용하였을 경우 입술 특징점 검출 RMS(Root Mean Square) 에러가 4.21픽셀만큼 감소하였다.

균형상살 검출 알고리즘에서 검출과 관련된 설계변수의 민감도 해석 몇 최적화 (Sensitivity Analysis and Optimization of Design Variables Related to an Algorithm for Loss of Balance Detection)

  • This study suggested an optimized algorithm for detecting the loss of balance(LOB) in the seated position. And the sensitivity analysis was performed in order to identify the role of each design variable in the algorithm. The LOB algorithm consisted of data processing of measured signals, an internal model of the central nervous system and a control error anomaly(CEA) detector. This study optimized design variables of a CEA detector to obtain improved values of the success rate(SR) of detecting the LOB and the margin time(MT) provided for preventing the falling. Nine healthy adult volunteers were involved in the experiments. All the subjects were asked to balance their body in a predescribed seated posture with the rear legs of a four-legged wooden chair. The ground reaction force from the right leg was measured from the force plate while the accelerations of the chair and the head were measured from a couple of piezoelectric accelerometers. The measured data were processed to predict the LOB using a detection algorithm. Variables S2, h2 and hd are related to the detector: S2 represents a data selecting window, h2 a time shift and hd an operating period of the LOB detection algorithm. S2 was varied from 0.1 to 10 sec with an increment of 0.1 sec, and both h2 and hd were varied from 0.01 to 1.0 sec with an increment of 0.01 sec. It was found that the SR and MT were increased by up to 9.7% and 0.497 sec comparing with the previously published case when the values of S2, h2 and hd were set to 4.5, 0.3 and 0.2 sec, respectively. Also the results of sensitivity analysis showed that S2 and h2 had considerable influence on the SR while these variables were not so sensitive to the MT.

모바일 폰 터치스크린에서 허프변환 기반의 반자동식 정점 검출 알고리즘 (Hough Transform-based Semi-automatic Vertex Detection Algorithm on a Touch Screen Mobile Phone)

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 폰 터치스크린에서 허프 변환(hough transform) 방법을 이용한 반자동식 정점(vertex) 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 사용자의 입력 위치를 기준으로 작은 범위의 ROI(region of interest) 영역 내에서 한정된 매개변수 범위를 탐색하는 허프 변환을 수행함으로써 빠른 처리속도를 보인다. 또한 허프 변환을 통해 검출된 후보직선 중에서 사용자 입력 위치와 가까운 두 직선을 선택함으로써 영상의 잡음으로 인해 잘 못 검출된 후보 직선을 제거할 수 있다. 그리고 검출된 두 직선의 교점을 정점으로 검출함으로써 초기 정점 선택을 위한 입력 이외의 추가적인 상호작용 과정 없이 정확한 정점을 검출할 수 있다. 결과적으로 본 논문에서는 실험을 통해서 제안하는 알고리즘이 센싱 정밀도가 낮은 터치스크린(평균 센싱 오류: 6.3픽셀)에서의 부정확한 입력(5.7 픽셀)에도 1.4픽셀 정도의 정확한 정점 검출 성능을 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

다양한 보행속도와 경사각에 대한 보행수 검출을 위한 필터링 조건과 역치의 결정 (Determination of filtering condition and threshold for detection of Gait-Cycles under Various Gait Speeds and Walkway Slopes)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine optimal filtering condition and threshold for the detection of gait-cycles for various walkway slopes as well as gait velocities. Ten young healthy subjects with accelerometer system on thigh and ankle walked on a treadmill at 9 conditions (three speeds and three slopes) for 5 minutes. Two direction signals, i.e. anterior-posterior (AP) and superior-inferior (SI) directions, of each sensor (four sensor orientations) were used to detect specific events of gait cycle. Variation of the threshold (from -1G to 1G) and lowpass cutoff frequency (fc) were applied to the event detection and their performance was evaluated according to the error index (EI), which was defined as the combination of the accuracy and false positive rate. Optimal fc and threshold were determined for each slope in terms of the EI. The optimal fc, threshold and their corresponding EI depended much on the walkway slope so that their coefficients of variation (CV) ranged 19~120%. When all data for 3 slopes were used in the identification of optimal conditions for each sensor, the best error indices for all sensor orientations were comparable ranging 1.43~1.76%, but the optimal fc and threshold depended much on the sensor position. The result indicates that the gait-cycle detection robust to walkway slope is possible by threshold method with well-defined filtering condition and threshold.

도로 선형에 따른 사각지역 감시장치 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Assessment of Blind Spot Detection for Road Alignment)

  • Recently, in order to reduce traffic accident related fatalities, increasing number of studies are conducted regarding the vehicle safety enhancement devices. But very few studies about test procedures and requirements for vehicle safety systems are being carried out. Since BSD, as one of the most important safety features, is installed on a new vehicle, its performance test method has to be evaluated. Independent factors irrelevant to the device types including collision position, vehicle speed and closing speed are used to calculate test distance away from the current vehicle. Effect of roadway geometry as radius of curvature is introduced to propose possible misjudgement of following vehicle as adjacent one. The study results would be utilized to enhance the test procedure of BSD performance.
