The Effect of Methylated Cyclodextrins on the Morphological Change of Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) with and without the Formation of Inclusion Complex

  • The possible interactions between cyclodextrins and biodegradable polyesters were investigated. The hydrophobicity of cyclodextrin could be varied with the methyl substitution of host CD, and the possibility of IC formation and the types of interaction between respective CDs and polyesters were subsequently changed. Further, the effect of cyclodextrins on the morphological change of biodegradable polymer was shown to depend on the degree of IC formation between cyclodextrin and biodegradable polymer as well as on the type of interaction between respective CDs and polyesters. That is, the enhancement and/or the restriction of the crystallization of P(3HB) were observed by the incorporation of various kind of cyclodextrins with different cavity size and hydrophobicity.

  • For creation of low temperature polycrystallinesilicon (LTPS) the line beam excimer laser annealing (ELA) is a well known and established technique in mass production. With introduction of Sequential Lateral Solidification (SLS) some aspects such as crystalline quality, throughput and flexibility regarding the substrate size could be improved, but for OLED manufacturing still further process development is necessary. This paper discusses line beam ELA and SLS techniques that might enable process engineers to make polycrystalline-silicon (poly-Si) films with a high degree of uniformity and quality as required for system on glass (SOG) and active matrix organic light emitting displays (AMOLED). Equipment requirements are discussed and compared to previous standards. SEM images of process examples are shown in order to demonstrate the viability.

Dependence of Stress-Induced Leakage Current on Low Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon TFTs

  • The dependence of stress-induced leakage current on LTPS TFTs was characterized in this study. The impacts of poly-Si crystallization, gate insulator, impurity activation, hydrogenation process and electrostatic discharge damage were investigated. It was observed more TFTs instable characteristic under those process-assisted processes. According to the LTPS roadmap, smaller geometric and low temperature process were the future trend and the stress-induced leakage current should be worthy of remark.

  • 1T-DRAM cell with solid phase (SPC) crystallized poly-Si thin film transistor was fabricated and electrical characteristics were evaluated. The fabricated device showed kink effect by negative back bias. Kink current is due to the floating body effect and it can be used to memory operation. Current difference between "1" state and "0" state was defined and the memory properties can be improved by using gate induced drain leakage (GIDL) current.

  • The article presents the recent research development in polymer ferroelectric non-volatile memory. A brief overview is given of the history of ferroelectric memory and device architectures based on inorganic ferroelectric materials. Particular emphasis is made on device elements such as metal/ferroelectric/metal type capacitor, metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor (MFIS) and ferroelectric field effect transistor (FeFET) with ferroelectric poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and its copolymers with trifluoroethylene (TrFE). In addition, various material and process issues for realization of polymer ferroelectric non-volatile memory are discussed, including the control of crystal polymorphs, film thickness, crystallization and crystal orientation and the unconventional patterning techniques.

  • In this paper, Amorphous silicon on glass substrate was recrystallized to poly-crystalline silicon by solid phase crystallization (SPC) technology. The active region of thin film transistor (TFT) was fabricated by amorphous silicon. The output and transfer characteristics of thin film transistor with lightly doped drain (LDD) structure was measured and analyzed. As a results, analyzed TFTs reliability with LDD's length by various kinds argument such as sub-threshold swing coefficient, mobility and threshold voltages were evaluated. Stress effects in TFT were able to improve to the characteristics of turn-on current and hot carrier effects by LDD's length variations.

  • 나일론 11[poly(undecanolactam)]은 적어도 5개의 결정형태를 가지며 삼사정계의 $\alpha$형, 단사정계의 $\beta$형 그리고 3개의 육방정계 또는 가육방정계의 형태(${\gamma}$,$\delta$,$\delta$')를 갖는다고 알려져 있다. $\alpha$형은 95$^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 안정하고 $\delta$형은 95$^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 안정하다. 용융상태 또는 5형에서 급냉하면 준안정 상태의 $\delta$'형을 형성한다. $\alpha$형을 trifluoroacetic acid로 처리하면 안정할 ${\gamma}$형이 얻어진다[1-2].   • In this paper, we report electrical properties of OTFTs made by ink-jet printing with polyvinylphenol (PVP) for bank layer and bis(triisopropylsilylenthynyl) pentacene (TIPS-pentacene) for semiconductor. We could achieve better crystallization and surface uniformity of TIPS pentacene by employing PVP bank layer. The OTFT with PVP bank layer exhibited an field-effect mobility of 0.18 $cm^2$/Vs, current on/off ratio of $2.09{\times}10^5$, and subthreshold slope of 0.42 V/decane.

  • Several different production technologies for Low-Temperature Poly-Silicon (LTPS) have been proposed over the last years. However, finally the progress in Excimer-laser-based crystallization has lead to the best cost-to-performance ratio of LTPS manufacturing for use in active-matrix-based displays. In this paper, we report on recent and significant technical advances in light sources, optical beam deliveries and beam irradiation systems targeted at enabling ultra-uniform mura-free LTPS active-matrix backplanes while simultaneously lowering production costs and increasing throughput.
