  • With the revitalization of the media market, the necessity of compression, searching, editing and copyright protection of videos is increasing. In this paper, we propose a method to detect scene change in all these fields. We propose a pre-processing, feature point extraction using SIFT, and matching algorithm for detecting the same scene change even if distortions such as resolution change, subtitle insertion, compression, and flip are added in the distribution process. Also, it is applied to filtering technology and it is confirmed that it is effective for all transformations other than considering transform.

  • RGB+D database has been widely used in object recognition, object tracking, robot control, to name a few. While rapid advance of active depth sensing technologies allows for the widespread of indoor RGB+D databases, there are only few outdoor RGB+D databases largely due to an inherent limitation of active depth cameras. In this paper, we propose a novel method used to build outdoor RGB+D databases. Instead of using active depth cameras such as Kinect or LIDAR, we acquire a pair of stereo image using high-resolution stereo camera and then obtain a depth map by applying stereo matching algorithm. To deal with estimation errors that inevitably exist in the depth map obtained from stereo matching methods, we develop an approach that estimates confidence of depth maps based on unsupervised learning. Unlike existing confidence estimation approaches, we explicitly consider a spatial correlation that may exist in the confidence map. Specifically, we focus on refining confidence feature with the assumption that the confidence feature and resultant confidence map are smoothly-varying in spatial domain and are highly correlated to each other. Experimental result shows that the proposed method outperforms existing confidence measure based approaches in various benchmark dataset.

  • A real-time image georeferencing system requires all inputs to be determined in real-time. The intrinsic camera parameters can be identified in advance from a camera calibration process while other control information can be derived instantaneously from real-time GPS/INS data. The bottleneck process is tie point acquisition since manual operations will be definitely obstacles for real-time system while the existing extraction methods are not fast enough. In this paper, we present a fast-and-automated image matching technique based on the KLT tracker to obtain a set of tie-points in real-time. The proposed work accelerates the KLT tracker by supplying the initial guessed tie-points computed using the GPS/INS data. Originally, the KLT only works effectively when the displacement between tie-points is small. To drive an automated solution, this paper suggests an appropriate number of depth levels for multi-resolution tracking under large displacement using the knowledge of uncertainties the GPS/INS data measurements. The experimental results show that our suggested depth levels is promising and the proposed work can obtain tie-points faster than the ordinary KLT by 13% with no less accuracy. This promising result suggests that our proposed algorithm can be effectively integrated into the real-time image georeferencing for further developing a real-time surveillance application.

  • While the plant projects grow bigger and global attention to the plant is increasing, efficient space arrangement is not working in plant project because of the complex structure in installing the equipment unlike the construction project. In addition to this, presently, problem in installation process caused by the disagreement between floor plan and real spot is rising. Therefore the target of this research is to solve the problems and reaction differences, caused by changing the space arrangement in installing the equipment of plant construction. And this research suggests the equipment arrangement method for construction and related processes. To solve the problem, 3D cloud point data of space and equipment is collected by 3D laser scanning and the space matching is operated. In processing the space matching, data is simplified by applying the octree algorithm. This research simplifies the 3D configuration data acquired by 3D scanner equipment through the octree algorithm, and by comparing this data, identifies the space for target equipment, and finally suggests the algorithm that makes the auto space arrangement of equipment possible in construction site and also suggests the process to actualize this algorithm.

  • Recently, as multimedia information becomes popular, there are many studies to retrieve images based on images in the web. However, it is hard to find the matching images which users want to find because of various patterns in images. In this paper, we suggest an efficient images retrieval system based on images for finding products in internet shopping malls. We extract features for image retrieval by using SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm, repeat keypoint matching in various dimension by using PCA-SIFT, and find the image which users search for by combining them. To verify efficiency of the proposed method, we compare the performance of our approach with that of SIFT and PCA-SIFT by using images with various patterns. We verify that the proposed method shows the best distinction in the case that product labels are not included in images.

  • PURPOSE. To explore whether there is matching relation between the length and the tilting angle of terminal implants in the All-on-Four protocol by studying the effects of different implant configurations on stress distributions of implant, bone, and framework. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Four implants were employed to support a full-arch fixed prosthesis and five three-dimensional finite element models were established with CT images, based on the length (S and L) and distal tilt angle ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$) of terminal implants for an edentulous mandible, which named: Tilt0-S, Tilt30-S, Tilt30-L, Tilt45-S and Tilt45-L. An oblique 240 N was loaded at second molar. The von Mises Stresses were analyzed. The implants were consecutively named #1 to #4 from the loading point. RESULTS. 1) Tilt0-S had the greatest stress on the implants, with the other groups exhibiting variable reductions; the four implants of Tilt45-L demonstrated the greatest reduction in stress. 2) Tilt0-S had the greatest stress at bone around #1 implant neck, and Tilt45-L exhibited the least stress, which was a 36.3% reduction compared to Tilt0-S. 3) The greatest stress in the framework was found on the cantilevers distal to #1 implant. Tilt45-S exhibited the least stress. CONCLUSION. Matching different length and tilting angle of the terminal implants led to variable stress reductions on implants, bone and the superstructure. By optimizing implant configuration, the reduction of stress on implants and surrounding bone could be maximized. Under the present condition, Tilt45-L was the preferred configuration. Further clinical testings are required.

  • In this paper, high-quality mosaic image is generated by high-resolution hyperspectral strip images using scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm, which is one of the representative image matching methods. The experiments are applied to AISA Eagle images geo-referenced by using GPS/INS information acquired when it was taken on flight. The matching points between three strips of hyperspectral images are extracted using SIFT method, and the transformation models between images are constructed from the points. Mosaic image is, then, generated using the transformation models constructed from corresponding images. Optimal band appropriate for the matching point extraction is determined by selecting representative bands of hyperspectral data and analyzing the matched results based on each band. Mosaic image generated by proposed method is visually compared with the mosaic image generated from initial geo-referenced AISA hyperspectral images. From the comparison, we could estimate geometrical accuracy of generated mosaic image and analyze the efficiency of our methodology.

  • The factory information provided by the Industrial Location Information System (ILIS) is provided as raw data by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and registered after a filtering process, so the new factory information update is slow. In this study, to solve the problem of updating factory information of industrial location information system, using building data of road name address with relatively fast renewal cycle and building data of real estate, we compared the factory information of existing ILIS and extracted new factory information. In the process of comparison, a method was proposed to compare spatial objects of different types with point data and polygon data. Attribute information matching and object matching were performed, and attribute values of new factory information were extracted. The accuracy evaluation of the proposed spatial analysis method showed 79% accuracy, and the above matching technique was used to confirm the possibility of convergence of road name address data, real estate data and factory information of ILIS.

  • Since motion estimation remove the redundant data to employ the temporal correlations between adjacent frames in a video sequence, it plays an important role in digital video coding. And in the block matching algorithm, search patterns of different shapes or sizes and the distribution of motion vectors have a large impact on both the searching speed and the image quality. In this paper, we propose a new fast block matching algorithm using the small-cross search pattern and the block-based gradient descent search pattern. Our algorithm first finds the motion vectors that are close to the center of search window using the small-cross search pattern, and then quickly finds the other motion vectors that are not close to the center of search window using the block-based gradient descent search pattern. Through experiments, compared with the block-based gradient descent search algorithm(BBGDS), the proposed search algorithm improves as high as 26-40% in terms of average number of search point per motion vector estimation.

  • In this paper, we proposed and implemented a GUI-based system to recognize and record measured values of digital instruments in the industrial site through image processing. Unlike the existing vehicle license plate recognition system, the measured values of the measuring instrument are displayed on the LCD screen as digital numbers. So, the proposed system considers the decimal point, a negative sign, light reflected by LCD protective glass, and various disturbance factors. We used blob-labeling technique to recognize the numbers displayed on the LCD screen, the recognized number images were determined as certain numbers through the template matching, and recognized values were recorded in the storage device with measurement time. Therefore, the proposed system in this paper would reduce the burden of writing when recording the measured values of the inside/outside diameter or height of the product in the industrial site, so effective and errorless process management in production process is possible by preventing errors in recording measurements when written by hand.
