Pb(Z$n_{1/3}$N$b_{2/3}$)$O_3$-Pb(N$i_{1/3}$N$b_{2/3}$)$O_3$-PZT와 PLZT를 경사조성으로 하는 경사기능 압전엑튜에이터의 제조와 물성 (Processing and Properties of FGM Piezoelectric Actuator with Gradient Composition of Pb(Z$n_{1/3}$N$b_{2/3}$)$O_3$-Pb(N$i_{1/3}$N$b_{2/3}$)$O_3$-PZT and PLZT)

  • 4.5 Pb($Zn_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-40.5Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-55PZT와 PLZT(10/70/30, 11/60/40)를 경사조성으로 하여 경사기능 재료를 제조하였으며, 그 유전 특성과 압전 변형율 특성을 조사하였다. 경사기능재료는 A/B/A의 세층으로 성형하고 소결한 후 한 층을 연마해내어 제작하였다. 닥터블레이드용 슬립에는 acrylic계 유기 결합제가 34-36wt% 혼합되었으며, 건조 후 균열이 없는 양호한 thick film을 제조하였다. $1250^{\circ}C$, 2시간의 소성에 의해 경사기능화된 시편은 Nb와 La등의 조성 차이에 의한 구배를 이루었으며, 구배영역은 약 30${\mu}$m 정도였다. 경사기능재료에서 유전상수나 큐리온도롸 같은 유전특성은 조합한 조성층의 특성들사이의 값을 나타내었다. 인가 전압에 따른 변형율 특성은 단일 조성의 시편보다 현저하게 증가하였다. 실제로 경사기능 압전엑튜에이터를 제조한 결과 약 3${\mu}$m/100V 정도의 변위향을 나타내었다.

Effect of MnO2 Addition on Microstructure and Piezoelectric Properties of 0.95(Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-0.05CaTiO3 Piezoelectric Ceramics

  • $MnO_2$ was added to the $0.95(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-0.05CaTiO_3$ (NKN-CT) ceramics in order to promote the densification and improve the poling efficiency by increasing the resistance of the specimens. Densification and abnormal grain growth occurred in the $MnO_2$-added NKN-CT ceramics sintered at $1020^{\circ}C$, indicating that $MnO_2$ assisted the liquid-phase sintering of these materials. $Mn^{3+}$ ions were considered to enter the A-site of the matrix, thereby producing the free electrons, which interacted with the holes resulting from the evaporation of alkali ions. This interaction results in an increase in the resistance of the specimens. The increased resistance improved the poling efficiency and, hence, the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the NKN-CT ceramics. A few of the $Mn^{3+}$ ions that entered the B-site of the NKN-CT matrix led to a slight increase in the mechanical quality factor.

  • The effect of $Bi(Mg_{1/2}Sn_{1/2})O_3$ (BMS) modification on the crystal structure, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of $Bi_{1/2}(Na_{0.8}K_{0.2})_{1/2}TiO_3$ (BNKT) ceramics has been investigated. The BMS-substitution induced a transition from a ferroelectric (FE) tetragonal to a nonpolar pseudocubic phase, leading to degradations in the remnant polarization, coercive field, and piezoelectric coefficient $d_{33}$. However, the electric-field-induced strain was significantly enhanced by the BMS substitution-induced phase transition and reached a highest value of $S_{max}/E_{max}$ = 633 pm/V under an applied electric field of 6 kV/mm when the BMS content reached 6 mol%. The abnormal enhancement in strain was attributed to the field-induced transition of the pseudocubic symmetry to other asymmetrical structure, which was not clarified in this work.

  • In this study, $KNbO_3$-substituted (Li,Na,K)(Nb,Sb,Ta)$O_3$ ceramics were investigated to develop Pb-free composition ceramics for multilayer actuator and energy harvester applications. The X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that all samples were pure perovskite phase and no secondary phase was found. A tetragonality as a function of $KNbO_3$ substitution showed the maximum value at 1.5 mol% $KNbO_3$ and then decreased. The SEM image analysis showed the maximum grain size of $3.14{\mu}m$ at 1.5mol% $KNbO_3$. In the composition ceramics with 1.5 mol% $KNbO_3$ sintered at $1,100^{\circ}C$, excellent properties of density= 4.75 $g/cm^3$, electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$)= 0.50 and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$)= 290 pC/N were obtained, respectively, suitable for piezoelectric actuator and energy harvester applications.

  • In this paper, the structure, dieletric and piezoelectric properties of Pb(Fe$_{\frac{1}{2}}$/Sb$_{\frac{1}{2}}$$O_3$+ Pb(Zr$_{0.52}$ Ti$_{0.48}$ )O$_3$system ceramics were investigated and the effects of donor Nb$^{+5}$ on these properties were characterized for the application of the actuator. In xPb(Fe$_{\frac{1}{2}}$Sb$_{\frac{1}{2}}$)O$_3$+ (1-x) Pb(Zr$_{0.52}$ Ti$_{0.48}$ )O$_3$system ceramics, tetragonality decreased as x and Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ wt% were increased. In 0.05Pb(Fe$_{\frac{1}{2}}$Sb$_{\frac{1}{2}$}$)O$_3$+ 0.95 Pb(Zr$_{0.52}$ Ti$_{0.48}$ )O$_3$system, grain size was smallest but showed best dielectric and piezoelectric properties. The specimen sintered at 120$0^{\circ}C$ in 0.05pb(Fe$_{\frac{1}{2}}$Sb$_{\frac{1}{2}}$ )O$_3$+ 0.95 Pb(Zr$_{0.52}$ Ti$_{0.48}$ )O$_3$+ Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ 0.6wt% exihibited best piezoeletric properties such as $K^{p}$ =64%, d$_{33}$ =490 [$\times$10$^{-12}$ C/N] and strain was 1320[$\times$10$^{-6}$ Δ$\ell$/$\ell$]at AC 6kV/cm

  • This study investigated the low temperature sintering with various templates of Bi-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. The effects of using CuO-coated Na0.5Bi4.5Ti4O15 templates on the sintering behavior as well as the dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties of Bi1/2(Na0.78K0.22)1/2TiO3 (BNKT) ceramics have been examined. In comparison with the specimens sintered with the Na0.5Bi4.5Ti4O15 templates without CuO coating, those sintered with the CuO-coated Na0.5Bi4.5Ti4O15 templates showed larger template sizes as well as a larger electric field induced strain (Smax/Emax) of 422 pm/V after sintering at temperatures as low as 975℃. These results are promising for low-cost multilayer ceramic actuator applications.

  • $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) is used for the various piezoelectric devices owing to its high piezoelectric properties. However, lead (Pb), which is contained in PZT, causes various environment contaminations. $(K,Na)NbO_3$ (NKN) is the most well-known candidate for a lead-free composition to replace PZT. A single crystal has excellent piezoelectric-properties and its properties can be changed by changing the orientation direction. It is hard to fabricate a NKN single crystal due to the sodium and potassium. Thus, $(Na,K)NbO_3-Ba(Cu,Nb)O_3$ (NKN-BCuN) is chosen to fabricate the single crystal with relative ease. NKN-BCuN pellets consist of two parts, yellow single crystals and gray poly-crystals that contain copper. The area that has a large amount of copper particles may melt at low temperature but not the other areas. The liquid phase may be responsible for the abnormal grain growth in NKN-BCuN ceramics. The dielectric constant and tan ${\delta}$ are measured to be 684 and 0.036 at 1 kHz in NKN-BCuN, respectively. The coercive field and remnant polarization are 14 kV/cm and $20{\mu}C/cm^2$.

  • 본연구에서는 초음파 모터 등의 고출력 액츄에이터에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-$0.6Pb(Zr_{0.405}Ti_{0.595})O_3$ + 0.25wt% $Fe_2O_3$ 조성시스템에 $MnO_2$ (0~1 wt.%)첨가하여 압전, 유전특성 및 미세구조에 관해 고찰하였다. 본조성을 $1125{\sim}1175^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 2시간 소결하여 시편을 제조하였으며 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였다. $MnO_2$ 첨가량 증가에 따라 압전 상수와 전기기계결함계수는 감소하였으며, 기계적 품질계수는 0.5 wt% 첨가시까지 증가하였으나 첨가량이 그 이상 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 압전특성은 $1125^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 $MnO_2$ 0.5wt%조성에서 ${\varepsilon}r$ = 2040, kp = 0.66, $d_{33}$ = 504, Qm=438의 우수한 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 센서에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$ 세라믹스에 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비를 0.37에서 0.41로 변화시킨 조성을 1175 $\sim$ 1200$^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 소결하여 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였고, 압전, 유전 특성을 고찰하였다. 본조성에서 x=0.385 조성에서 최대 유전상수 값 3490 이 나타났으며, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 감소하였다. 상경계 영역인 x=0.385 조성에서 $\varepsilon$r, $K_p$, $d_{33}$ 값이 최대값을 나타내었다. $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$, 세라믹스에서는 kp 와 $d_{33}$ 는 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비 0.385조성까지 증가하였다가 그 이상 조성에서 감소하였다. $1175^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결한 x=0.385조성에서 $\varepsilon$r=3490, kp=0.71, Qm=476의 우수한 압전 특성을 나타내었다.

  • Reaction temperature md piezoelectric properties of Pb(Mn1/3 Sb2/3)0.08 Ti0.495 Zr0.425 $O_3$ ceramics by hydrothermal synthesis method have been investigated. Sintering density and dielectric constant of sample increased with increasing of hydrothermal reaction temperature, while decreased rapidly above $240^{\circ}C$. Electromechanical coupling factor kp was almost constant at the reaction temperature $160^{\circ}-240^{\circ}C$.
