The study was conducted for the safety evaluation of 320 pesticide residues in 768 Lentinula edodes fruit body samples and 143 L. edodes media samples, which are distributed nationwide in South Korea. The monitoring method was the second of the multi-residue methods in the Korean Food Code. GC-ECD, GC-NPD, and GC-MSD were used as evaluation equipment for analysis. Single-analysis of the target pesticides was performed for mepiquat chloride. Through the analysis of collected L. edodes samples, pesticide residues were detected in total seven cases, including four L. edodes fruit body samples and three L. edodes media samples. The detected pesticide residues were carbendazim, diflubenzuron, fluopyram, and dinotefuran. In this study, carbendazim was detected in three L. edodes fruit body samples and one L. edodes media sample. The detected amount of carbendazim was 0.056, 0.17, 0.043, and 0.09 mg/kg, respectively. The amount of carbendazim in the collected L. edodes samples was detected below the MRLs (maximum residue level). The detected amounts of fluopyram and dinotefuran were 0.068 mg/kg and 0.06 mg/kg, respectively. Two pesticide residues were detected in the medium in one case. Mepiquat chloride was not detected in this study. These results suggested that residual pesticides were detected in a small number of collected L. edodes. However, the PLS for unregistered pesticides MRL was 0.01 ppm; therefore, we have to conduct research on preparing safety standards for mushrooms, including L. edodes.
Usage and residue of pesticide were sureyed for five years from three golf courses which have morethan eighteenholes inKangwon-do from 1992 to 1996. A total of 186 samples(soils, lawns, effluents) were collected from these courses and residual levels of four kinds of organochlorines and twelve kinds of organophosphorus pesticides in each samples were determined by GC-ECD and GC-NPD. The amount of pesticide used in each golf course was 1, 635.6kg a year on the average, and that of pesticide to the green and the fairway were 33g/$\textrm{m}^2$ and 3g/$\textrm{m}^2$, respectively. The pesticide which was not permitted for the management of golf course was detected in 24 of 186 samples and its detection rate was 12.9%. The average pesticide residue in soils was 0.208 ppm for captan, 0.031 ppm for daconil, respectively. Detection rate of the prohibited pesticides has decreased every year since 1992, and there were no residues all the tested samples in 1996.Based on these results, it might be judged investigation methods of pesticide residue should be changed with current using pesticide from the prohibited pesticides and the criteria of residual pesticides in effluents of golf course also should be established.

This study was carried out in order to compare the residue levels of pesticides among lettuce, kale and perilla leaf depending on the morphological characteristics of plant. Residue levels were investigated at the zero, second, fifth days after last application, 9 species of systemic or non-systemic pesticide were twice applied with 7 days interval by knapsack power sprayer with 2 heads fan shape nozzle. Ratios of leaf area to weight ($cm^2$$g^{-1}$) were 58 of perilla leaf, 27 of lettuce and 23 of kale. Ratios of leaf area to weight of perilla leaf was 2.1 times higher than that of lettuce. Residue levels of perilla leaf were 1.3 to 2.3 times higher than those of lettuce at the day of spraying and 1.3 to 3.3 times higher at the fifth day. Therefore the differences of pesticide residues between perilla leaf and lettuce were affected by the ratio of leaf area to weight. Residue levels in lettuce were 2.4 to 7.3 times higher than those in kale at the day of spraying because the adhesive effect of pesticide particles on kale leaf was low.
A pesticide monitoring survey was undertaken for the both 30 samples of pears and sweet persimmons from chief producing districts in1985 to evaluate pesticide residues in these agrcultural products and also to give basic informations in establishing maximum residue limits. Pesticide residues in pears were detected with fairly low in 7-60% of total samples. Even the maximum residue levels were only in the amount of 1/53-2/3 compared with maximum residue limits established in fruits in Environment Administration, Korea. Most of the residues (71-82%) was remained in peels of pears. Incase of sweet persimmons, captan, captafol, EPN, parathion, and phenthoate residues were also detected with fairly low in 3-20% of total samples. Presently, it is considered that pesticide residues in pears and sweet persimmons may be no harmful levels for food commodities.
Effect of soil residue paraquat (1,1-dimethyl-4,4-dipyridinium dichloride) on growth of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Sacheon No.6 and cv. Tapgolbori) and soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr. cv. Alcheon and Danyeop] was investigated. Changes in soil residue paraquat during the cultivation period and residue amount in the p1ants at harvest were also determined. Experiments were conducted at two paraquat residue conditions; the first was done in an apple orchard soil where paraquat residue recorded 30.2 ppm in 1996, but decreased to about 9 to 9.8 ppm at the time of crop seeding and the second was conducted in the soil fortified to about 27 to 32 ppm paraquat residue. In both conditions, no crop injury due to the residue paraquat was observed and number of emerged seedlings and plant height of the two crops were not affected by soil residue paraquat. Residue amount of paraquat in the plants occurred less than 0.5 ppm detection limit. At the first condition, soil residue paraquat was further slightly decreased for 90 days after seeding, while no great change in the residue level was found at the second condition for 30 days after seeding. The results suggest that no carry-over effect occurs at about 30 ppm of soil residue paraquat and at present crop cultivation in Korean orchard soils are safe with respect to crop growth and paraquat residue in the plants.
In order to know the residual pattern of pesticides and predict to the degradation period until below MRL, we experimented diazinon, iprodinon and chlorfenapyr for shallot. They were the most detected pesticide in shallot by NAQS (National Agricultural product Quality management Service) survey. In this experiment, we sprayed those pesticides 15days before harvest and analyzed 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 day sample to establish logical equation and to calculate $DT_{50}$. During the cultivating period, the residue amount of diazinon was changed from 1.02 mg/kg (0 day) to 0.01 mg/kg (14 day), $DT_{50}$ was 2.19 days, and iprodione was changed from 1.45 mg/kg (0 day) to 0.14 mg/kg (14 day), $DT_{50}$ was 4.15 days, and chlorfenapyr was changed from 1.5 mg/kg (0 day) to 0.01 mg/kg (14 day), $DT_{50}$ was 1.97 days. The $DT_{50}$ of double amount in those pesticides, diazinon was 2.24 days, iprodione was 4.82 days, and chlorfenapyr was 2.24 days, respectively.

This study was conducted to the amount of pesticide residue in 21 different kinds of 100 commercial flowering teas. Multi-residue analyses of 203 pesticides was performed using the GC-ECD, GC-NPD, GC-MSD, and LC-MS/MS. Pesticide residues were detected in 4 samples (4%) of which 4 samples (4%) violated the maximum residue limits. 4 samples violating the limit were all imported teas. Pesticides detected were chlorpyrifos, flufenoxuron, lufenuron, pyrimethanil and methoxyfenozide. These results indicate the need of continuous monitoring of pesticide residue needs for safety of flowering teas.
To investigate an amount of pesticide residue in rice paddy field soils and greenhouse soil, this monitoring was carried out pesticide detection frequency and concentrations collected samples from 150 rice paddy field soils and 152 greenhouse soils of nationwide in the year of 2007, and 2008, respectively. The detection limit of pesticides of this experiment were ranged 0.001~0.005 ppm. In 2007, One hundred fifty samples were collected from rice paddy field soils in April and monitored for 120 wide-used pesticides. A total of 11 pesticides were detected four fungicides, four insecticides and three herbicides in paddy field soils. The highest concentration levels of pesticide detected were 0.84 ppm as herbicide oxadiazon, 0.81 ppm as fungicide isoprothiolane and 0.50 ppm as insecticide buprofezin. The detection frequencies range were 0~19.3%, and the frequency was 2.7% as isoprothiolane and 19.3% as oxadiazon in paddy field soils. In 2008, One hundred fifty two samples were collected from greenhouse soils in April and monitored for 120 wide-used pesticides. A total of 29 pesticides were detected six fungicides, sixteen insecticides and seven herbicides in greenhouse soils. high concentration levels of pesticide detected levels were 5.09 ppm as insecticide chlorfenapyr, 2.57 ppm as fungicide chlorothalonil and 0.72 ppm as herbicide oxadiazon. The detection frequencies range were 0~38.8%, and high frequencies were 38.8% as insecticide endosulfan, 13.2% as oxadiazone, 10.5% as fungicide hexaconazole and 7.2% as isoprothiolane in greenhouse soils, Total endosulfan and oxadiazon were showed high detection frequency of 38.8% and 13.2%, respectively.
Recently, golf courses have increased over the years because golf became popular leisure sport. Various environmental problems have been then issued by a golf course during constructing and running them. A problem of pesticide, which is serious among various environmental problems, from golf course has harmful effect on surrounding area and makes human suffer from acute and chronic diseases. Pesticides are used for the cost-effective managing of golf course and the amount of pesticides also increases as the number of golf course increase. Since the assessment of pesticides on near-by surrounding has been focused on water and soil media, studies related to atmospheric dispersion have been hardly attempted. The method to assess an impact of pesticide nearby agricultural production by the atmospheric dispersion using AGDISP(AGricultural DISPersal) model was developed and applied to the actual planned golf course located in Hongcheon, Gangwon. For implementing AGDISP, parameters were investigated from the golf course's land use planning map, pesticide spray device, Hong-Cheon weather station and etc. First of all, a kind of pesticide, a form of spraying pesticide, geographical features, weather data, and distance(golf course to plantation) were investigated to understand how to work these parameters in AGDISP. Restricted data(slope angle, droplet size distribution and solar insolation) sensitivity analysis of these parameters to estimate effect of pesticide nearby a plantation and a high relative contribution data of analyzed data was selected for input data. Ethoprophos was chosen as the pesticide used in the golf course and the amounts of pesticide deposition per annual agricultural productions were predicted. The results show that maximum amount of pesticide deposition through atmospheric dispersion was predicted $2.32{\mu}/m^2$ at 96 m where the nearest organic plantation exists. The residues of pesticide were also estimated based on the annul production of the organic and the deposition amount of the pesticide. Consequently, buckwheat, wheat and millet were likely to exceed maximum residue limits for pesticides in foods(MRL) and sorghum, corn and peanut were likely to exceed MRL by organic farming as well.
This study was conducted to compare of the pesticide residue amounts in fruit trees applied by different sprayers and spray volumes. Apple tree was used as a sample tree, and speed sprayer, power sprayer and knapsack motorized sprayer were tested. For similar sprayer and spray volume, the concentration of fluquinconazole and flusilazole in apple leaves were obtained respectively, for speed sprayer 8.33 and 2.15 mg/kg, for power sprayer 4.56 and 1.10 mg/kg, and for knapsack 4.55 and 1.12 mg/kg. The results showed that the treatment using speed sprayer had highest efficiency. The pesticide residues in apple leaves sprayed by 3 different spray volumes (560, 336 and 230 L/10a) using speed sprayer were 10.76 mg/kg, 8.32 mg/kg, 6.04 mg/kg on fluqinconazle and 3.04 mg/kg, 2.14 mg/kg and 1.47 mg/kg on flusilazole, respectively, indicating that the higher the volume, the higher the residues. The results from this study can be used as scientific basis for evaluating the field trial data for pesticide registration and the spray volume setting for fruit trees in Korea.
