A Study on Concentration of Indoor Nitrogen Dioxide in Relation to House Characteristics (주택특성에 관련된 실내 이산화질소 농도에 관한 연구)

  • Indoor air quality tends to be the dominant contributor to personal exposure because most people spend over 90% of their time indoors. For some contaminants, exposure to indoor air poses a potentially greater health threat than outdoor air exposures. Indoor nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) levels are mainly affected gas range, flue gas spillage, kerosene heaters, wood-burning appliances and cigarette smoke. In addition, indoor $NO_2$ levels are influenced by such house characterization as surface reaction and air exchange rate. In this study, the measurements of indoor and outdoor $NO_2$ concentrations were taken using identical protocols, and information was collected on housing characteristics using identical questionnaires in 14 houses out of 15 houses for daily 30 daily 30 days in Brisbane, Australia.The usage of gas range was the most contributing factor in indoor $NO_2$ concentration in relation to house characteristics. Average indoor and outdoor ratios of NO2 concentration in electronic and gas cooking houses were $0.6{\pm}0.1$ and $0.9{\pm}0.2$, respectively. The frequency distributions of $NO_2$ concentration in each house were approximately log-normal Geometric mean of indoor $NO_2$ concentrations of electronic and gas cooking houses for daily 30 days ranged from 2.5 ppm to 11.5 ppm with a mean 6.8 and from 4.7 ppm to 28.6 ppm with a mean 15.6 ppm, respectively. The $NO_2$ concentrations between electronic and gas cooking houses were significantly different (p<0.05). Since each house has different life-style and house characteristics, sampling interval to measure the $NO_2$ levels was recommended above 7 days.

Characteristics of Narrative Conflict Mediation in Interpersonal Conflict Situations (대인 갈등 조정의 서사적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study includes (1) to analyze the mediation process in which conflict mediation involves alternative stories through the mediation process after the characteristics of personal conflicts are analyzed (2) and to classify characteristics of the narrative of conflict mediation. This study attempts to examine mediation roles in the process mainly focusing on communication skills to which professional conflict mediators can apply. Based on this study, the usefulness of descriptive conflict mediation of social constructivism's perspective, one of the post-modern theories, was observed. The narrative mediation as a system that connects problems to conflicts with conversation and creates and develops the meanings of conflicts and problems in collaboration attempts to pursue new changes on the assumption of the subjectivity of human beings and the characteristic of the conflicts. Such a point supports the argument that conflicts should be approached from the communication perspective. Especially, it is expected that the fact that a variety of communication skills have great influence on conflict mediation becomes a key source to establishing communication study as one of mediation fields in conflicts.

  • Today, 3D cyber space with advancements of Web 3D technique is changing into a social space. As such, the users want to make social relationships, the impression that one leaves in 3D cyber space has become more important. This study will be confirm a relationship between interpersonal relations and impression and show some impression formation factors in 3D cyber space. As this study analyzes the characteristic elements of 3D cyber space which are differentiated with other platform, it has theoretical value to support theory about personal relationship in3D cyber spaces. Then it will be a supporting theory for next study about intercultural and social phenomena in changeable 3D cyber space as advancement of technique. We will find out the causal relationship between impression dimensions and formative factors in next study.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of watching 'Real Man' program on university student s' military image and security awareness. For the purpose of the study, 392 university students in Seoul, Chungcheong and Jeolla were selected. With the collected data, factorial analysis, t-test, frequency analysis, one-way analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were performed through SPSS 21.0. First, according to personal characteristic and watching degree, there were differences in military image and security awareness. There were significant differences in rationality, coherence, familiarity, violence, authority among sub factors of military image and in perspective about policy towards North Korea, persepectives about North Korea, military threats of North Korea, security will among sub factors of security awareness. Second, military image of university students who watched 'Real Man' had an influence on security awareness. Military image had an meaningful influence on perspective about North Korea, military threats of North Korea, security will among sub factors of security awareness.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the types and characteristics of collective expression of aggression by sport situation factors in international sport games. For that, each 5 articles on male and female Korean team matches in 2018 Asian games with most replies and their each 100 most recommended replies were collected and analyzed. As the conclusions, first, there were more frequent aggression in critical articles on Korean's losing, and the public sympathy on sport situation effected on collective expression of aggression. Second, the types of collective expression showed almost same frequency as hurling abuses, ability disparagement, and personal attack, and the targets were the main person of the background situation. This study could be valued with the new research perspectives with sport situation factors on the relations among sport and aggression.

  • LED(Light Emitting Diode) components have advantages of longer lifetime, lower power consumption and easy-to-control, compare to normal lamp and fluorescent light, according to the development of recent technologies. Thus, lots of illuminations which utilize LED components could be used. Recently, Visible Light Communication(VLC) which is a part of communication technologies, utilizing high speed response characteristic of LED components, started receiving public attention. In case of VLC, there is no need of frequency allocation due to no use of radio, but also no interference exists during data transmission, much different in ISM((Industrial Scientific Medical band). This is the reason why a lot of research results about VLC are becoming issued. In this paper, a survey of feasibility for using VLC utilizing an original LED illumination for underwater applications has been done and a primitive possibility of its application has been examined.

Publicness of the Exterior Bus Advertising (버스외부광고의 공공성에 관한 연구)

  • Due to its intrinsic characteristic, exterior bus advertising is exposed to an unspecified number of the general public. Thus it influences on the urban publicness of the city, simply beyond leaving it as a personal marketing activity toward the industry's profit. Seoul city's campaign to improve exterior bus advertising has been to effective in removing advertisements of alcohols, tobaccos, and lascivious contents, however, there still are several advertisements that should be examined from the view point of publicness. For the case of UK, where exterior bus advertising is also actively utilizing owing to its high exposure and effectiveness, they are administrating it by setting up guidelines and regarding the importance of publicness. I also identified the meaning of publicness of exterior bus advertising from the aspects of 'publicness of territories', 'publicness of subjects', 'publicness of reasoning', and 'publicness of procedures'. Through this, I suggested that both commercial right of exterior bus advertising in the private sector and citizen's right of publicness can be harmoniously developed by properly controlling and administrating the exterior bus advertising. Furthermore, artistic approach to the exterior bus advertising from the viewpoint of city environment is expected to elevate the aesthetic possession and the level of design sense of citizens.

The Appearance of the Ready-to-wear Clothing in the West and Its Utopian Characteristics (서양 기성복의 출현 배경과 그 유토피아적 성격)

  • This paper discusses the social changes in the late 19th century that provided a historical background in the appearance of the ready-to-wear clothing in the West. It examines the social meanings of the appearance of the ready-to-wear clothing at the time and traces the origins of these social characteristics to the book published in the $16^{th}$ century by Thomas More, Utopia. The results of this study can be summarized as the following. First, the appearance and expansion of the ready-to-wear clothing coincided with the social transition from a class-based society to a democratic society in the west in the $19^{th}$ century. Second, uniforms were produced in the $18^{th}$ century Europe in order to distinguish different classes and ethnic groups, with the military uniforms being the most visible example. Frequent military campaigns in Europe resulted in the increasing demand and expansion of military uniforms, which later became the basis of the standardization of the men's clothing with uniforms. Third, the women's ready-to-wear clothing appeared later than their male counterpart and was made possible by the simplification of design, an important characteristic of women's wear in the later period. Fourth, the social characteristics of the ready-to-wear clothing can be traced to a democratic and egalitarian society without personal properties that was depicted in the book of Utopia by Thomas More. Fifth, one of the characteristics of the ready-to-wear clothing can be found in the description of Utopia, in which everyone in Utopia wears a clothing of the same form for life.

  • Recently, the cosmetics industry considers male customers as a consumptive, active customer base who also have purchasing power with their stronger desire for their personal image enhancement. Male-preferred image brands have entered the era of unlimited competition through social media, thus increasing the acquisition of male beauty. Therefore, the information for designing favorable image strategies should be examined. This paper examines male awareness, determined by the degree of appearance management based on four categories (i.e., hair and skin care, makeup, foot and hand care, and plastic surgery). Based on the research, the paper proposes a data service to address the spatial and temporal separation problem between TV CF (the major media for recognizing information) and online $caf{\acute{e}}$/blog the major media for obtaining detailed information.

Foot Type Classification of Korean Male Farmers for Ergonomic Work Shoes Design

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to identify foot shapes of Korean male farmers by classifying their foot types using 3D scan data and analyzing the characteristics of each type. Background: The increasing demands for anthropometric information for the design of machinery and personal protective equipment to prevent occupational injuries has necessitated an understanding of the anthropometric differences to be found among occupations. Static stooped posture and squatting posture are so common in Korean farmers that anthropometric deformation in foot especially seems to occur easily. Method: 366 Korean male farmers volunteered for this study from 16 different farming villages nationwide from 2009 to 2011. Subjects were categorized into 4 age groups from 40s to 70s. Their right feet were measured by using 3D foot scanner, the anthropometric dimensions were composed of 40 items. Results: The 8 major factors affecting the foot shapes were extracted. From these factors the foot shape of Korean male farmers was classified into 3 Foot types. Foot type 1 showed severe deformation in toe 1, type 2 had a narrow shape and type 3 had a wider width for its length. Conclusion: There were some differences in foot shape and types between farmers and the public. The most characteristic foot type in Korean male farmers was type 3. Application: The results of identifying foot shapes of Korean male farmers might provide the useful information for designing ergonomic farm work shoes.
