  • In this paper, we introduce IEC 60300(Dependability program management) into urban transit system, and propose effective method to apply IEC 60300 to Subway Corporation. The dependability is the collective term used to describe the availability performance and its influencing factors such as reliability performance, maintainability performance and maintenance support performance. A dependability program covers all phases of a system's life cycle from planning to operation and possibly disposal, and is composed of program elements divided into tasks.

  • This paper considers a TMN-based management system for the management of public ATM switching networks using a four-level hierarchical structure consisting of one network management system, several element management systems, and several agent-ATM switch pairs. Using Jackson's queuing model, we analyze the effects of one TMN command on the performance of the component ATM switch in processing local calls. The TMN command considered is the permanent virtual call connection. We analyze four performance measures of ATM switches- utilization, mean queue length and mean waiting time for the processor directly interfacing with the subscriber lines and trunks, and the call setup delay of the ATM switch- and compare the results with those from Jackson's queuing model.

  • This study is to analyze the relationships between critical success factors of customer relationship management and performance of customer relationship management. To accomplish this purpose, this study performed an empirical analysis of 206 domestic companies which have introduced customer relationship management applications. The result of the study shows that most organizational factors except evaluation and compensation factor have a positively significant effect on the performance of customer relationship management, and that ease of system use and level of system integration influence on the performance of customer relationship management positively.

  • Measuring and evaluating the business performance plays a very important role in managing business. It is both because business performance, in any types of industry, can be evaluated and managed properly only when the measurement of its performance is estimated and because its performance can be improved through an efficient and effective management. Therefore it is essential to build up the performance evaluation system to raise management efficiency of food service industry, to reinforce competitive power of food service industry. In this study, investigated the present performance evaluation system situation of the food service industry and introduced BSC as the main conceptional framework for evaluating the performance of the food service industry. Finally, this study discussed the possible method for building a balanced scorecard to the food service industry.

  • This paper attempts to identify empirically whether the certification of Quality Management System affects positively to firm performance using the sample sets of 200 SMEs in Korea who have adopted ISO 9000 majoring in the domestic markets as well as the overseas markets. The empirical study has been done on the assumptions and the hypothesis that the certification itself can conceptually and practically be considered an effective tool to improve the level of standardization of quality management system, and it would result in higher productivity and good corporate image by enabling firms to strengthen up their capabilities to achieve competitive advantage. The empirical findings show that the ISO 9000 has positively contributed to not only obtaining competitive advantage but also bringing about a superior firm performance as it would be, making sure that the certification itself would be used as a powerful tool for good management. This study also pinpoints that the success/failure in introducing & adopting the certification depends highly upon the managers' interests and concerns, especially the CEO's.

  • This study discovered the effects of strategic learning and network building on a company's environmental management performance. According to the results, the environmental awareness of the company and competition threats within the industry did not significantly affect the establishment of environmental strategy, whereas the consumer's sensitivity to the environment and the environmental regulation of the government did. The environmental awareness of the company and the consumer's sensitivity to the environment were found to greatly impact a company's network building. which is closely related with the utilization of multimedia system and technology. In addition, it was found that the establishment of corporate environmental strategy had a significant effect on network building and strategic learning, but network building did not significantly affect strategic learning, indicating a difference. Finally, corporate strategic learning affected environmental management performance, suggesting an importance in accumulating strategic learning capabilities to increase environmental management performance.

  • Professional Construction Management (PCM) services have become more and more popular in Taiwan in the past decade. However, disputes between PCM consultant and the client on the performance of PCM services are also increasing. The evaluation of PCM performance is a tough task due to the lack of "physical product", such as the drawings finished by the architect. This paper is intended to propose a PCM performance evaluation system (PPES) based on Balanced Scorecard (BSC). A case study of PCM consultancy for a real world design/build project is conducted to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed BSC framework

  • Most manufacturing companies participate in various types of active collaboration to enhance competitive advantages in their arenas. In this paper, we introduce a data warehouse system that is designed for manufacturing collaboration. Just as enterprise information systems, collaboration support systems also need functions of performance measurement and monitoring. For this reason, we devise a new approach to measuring and evaluating performance of manufacturing collaboration. Specifically, we first present a concept of process warehouses for manufacturing collaboration. Next, we design a data schema of collaborative process warehouses to store and monitor collaboration performances. Finally, we implement a prototype system to support performance management of manufacturing collaboration. The proposed system can be used to effectively maintain and continuously improve collaboration in manufacturing industry.

  • The goal of this research was to search for an optimum training program that increases archery performance skills in order to develop a performance training and support. For this research, by examining the existing sports statistics program, information management system, and other related documents, we were able to derive an athlete management realm as well as find archer factors. Also through a council we categorized the factors that constituted the training general management. The archery training general management system consists of six realms. First is the log-in and main screen realm. Second is the athlete information category. Third, the point of impact information category. Fourth, the shift-in-frequency analysis realm. Fifth, in the detailed analysis realm. Thus, the developed archery training general management system allows for a more generalized and scientific athlete management and support system. and it has turned out to be an adequate system for archer's performance.
