규칙적인 운동습관이 여대생들의 주요 영양소 섭취실태 및 에너지 균형도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Regular Exercise on Nutritional Intakes and Energy Balance of College Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate to the effect of regular exercise on nutrients intakes and energy balance related to food habit and nutrient knowledge of college women. This study was conducted from May to June in 2000. One hundred and forty female students made their three day dietary records by 24-hr recall method and one day activity record. The questionaires were designed to fine out food habit and nutrition knowledge status. The height. weight and blood pressure were measured and also body fat mass and lean body mass measurements were performed. The results obtained are summerized as follows. Average height and weight of E(exercise) group were found to be increased than those of NE(non-exercise) group. The percent of body fat and body fat mass(kg) in E group were slightly lower than those of NE group. Calorie intake of NE group was 1,664kca1 per day. This was composed of carbohydrate 60%kcal. protein 14%local and fat 24%local. Calorie, calcium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin B$_2$ and niacin intakes of NE group were lower than those of RDA and calorie intake of E group was 2.313kca1 per day. This was composed of carbohydrate 54%, protein 13% and fat 31%. Other nutrients such as iron, vitamin A, niacin and vitamin C were lower than those of RDA. Daily energy expenditure and physical activity of E group were 2,397.6$\pm$49.2kca1; 1,035.7 $\pm$36.5kcal, respectively and it was higher than those of NE group.

댄스 스포츠가 중년여성의 혈중지질 및 렙틴에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dance Sports on Body Composition, Serum Lipids and Leptin in the Middle-Aged Women)

  • 본 연구는 댄스 스포츠가 중년여성의 신체조성, 혈중지질 및 렙틴에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 B광역시 중년여성 24명을 선정하여, 비만실험군 및 통제군 각 8명, 정상실험군 8명으로 분류하여 60∼80%HRmax의 운동강도로, 주 3회, 일 60분의 운동시간으로 댄스스포츠를 실시하여 신체조성, 혈중지질 및 렙틴을 비교 분석 한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 신체조성 1) 집단 간 %fat의 변화에서 OG가CG보다 유의하게 감소하였고, 집단 내 변화에서는 OG와 NG가 유의하게 감소하였다. 2) LBM은 집단 간ㆍ집단 내에 통계적 유의성이 나타나지 않았다. 2. 혈중지질 1) T-C와LDL-C는 집단 간ㆍ집단내에서 통계적 유의성이 나타나지 않았다. 2) 집단 간 HDL-C의 변화에서는 OG와 NG가 CG보다 유의하게 증가하였고, 집 내에서도 OG와 NG에서 유의하게 증가하였다. 3) 집단 간 TG의 변화에서는 OG와 NG가 CG보다 유의하게 감소하였고, 집 단 내에서는 OG가 유의하게 감소하였으며, CG는 유의하게 증가하였다. 3. 렙틴 집단 간 렙틴의 변화에서는 OG와 NG가 CG보다 유의하게 감소하였고, 집단 내 에서도 OG와 NG가 유의하게 감소하였다. 이상의 결과에 의하면 댄스 스포츠는 중년여성의 혈중지질 및 렙틴에 부분적으로 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 렙틴과 HDL-C에 있어서는 매우 긍정적인 효과를 나타내었다. 따라서 중년여성들에게 규칙적인 댄스 스포츠의 적용은 건강의 증진에 좋은 영향을 미치는 것으로 간주되므로, 앞으로 중년여 성들의 신체 적 건강을 위한 생활체육으로서 적극 권장되어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Evaluation of 8-week body weight control program including sea tangle (Laminaria japonica) supplementation in Korean female college students

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of a body weight control program with supplementation of sea tangle (20 g/day) on 22 female college students. The contents of the program for 8 weeks contained diet therapy, exercise and behavioral modification through nutrition education. Body composition, dietary habit scores, serum lipid profiles, daily nutrient intakes and the quality of life were assessed at the beginning and at the end of the program. Average age of subjects and height were 20.8 years and 161.9 cm, respectively. After 8 weeks, there were significant reductions in body weight, body fat mass, percent body fat, waist-hip ratio and BMI. The dietary habit score such as a balanced diet, regularity of mealtime, overeating, eating while watching TV or using the computer and eating salty food were increased significantly. Serum lipid levels such as total cholesterol level, LDL-cholesterol level and triglyceride level were decreased but not significantly. There were decreases in intake of energy, protein and fat and increases in intakes of dietary fiber, folic acid, calcium and potassium from the beginning to the end of the program. There were significant improvements on subcomponents of quality of life; physical functioning, general-health and vitality. The limitation of this study was the fact that there was no control group, but an overall evaluation suggests the 8-week body weight control program consisting of diet therapy, exercise and behavioral modification with supplementation of sea tangle would be helpful to improve the body composition, dietary habits, daily nutrient intakes and quality of life in Korean female college students.

고령 여성들의 신체활동 프로그램 참여가 신체조성, 우울증 및 치매 위험 인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Physical Activity Program on Body Composition, Depression and Risk Factors of Dementia in the Elderly Women)

  • 본 연구는 고령 여성들을 대상으로 24주간 신체자극 운동과 걷기 운동의 신체활동 프로그램 병행이 신체조성, 우울증 점수 및 치매 위험 인자의 변화를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 65~75세의 고령 여성 40명으로서 규칙적인 운동 프로그램에 참여하지 않는 고령 여성들로 실험 집단 20명과 통제 집단 20명, 총 40명을 선정하였다. 24주 간 신체 자극 운동 프로그램은 Kim [33]이 고령자를 대상으로 개발한 프로그램을 수정, 보완하여 운동 빈도는 3~4회/주, 운동시간은 총 45~60분/일으로 하였다. 자료처리는 반복측정에 의한 분산분석(Repeated ANOVA)방법으로 처리한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 24주간 신체자극 운동과 걷기 운동의 신체활동 프로그램이 고령 여성들에 있어서 신체조성을 개선시키고, 발생빈도와 재발률이 높고 약물치료가 어려운 음성 증상 중의 하나인 우울증 점수뿐만 아니라, 치매를 예방에 효과적인 결과를 보였다. 그러나 신체적 비활동은 만성질환에 쉽게 노출되는 것으로 나타났다.

Association of GHRH, H-FABP and MYOG Polymorphisms with Economic Traits in Pigs

  • The study of candidate genes is an important tool to identify genes associated with economic traits. Three genes were selected to study the association between polymorphism and economic traits and breed of pigs. Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) takes part in growth metabolism and is one of the candidate genes known to be highly associated with economic traits in pigs. Heart fatty acid-binding protein (H-FABP) is related to back fat thickness and intramuscular fat (IMF) content, and myogenin (MYOG) is associated with the amount of growth rate and lean yield in pigs. By PCR-RFLP analysis, the association between the genotypes of the three genes and the average daily gain, back fat thickness, feed conversion, body length and meat percent in 352 pigs (112 Duroc pigs, 132 Landrace pigs and 108 Yorkshire pigs) were analyzed. GHRH polymorphisms showed differences depending on breed (p<0.01) and were associated with meat percent. H-FABP polymorphisms also showed significant differences among breeds and sex (p<0.01), and were highly associated with average daily gain, feed conversion and back fat thickness (p<0.01) and even showed an association with meat percent (p<0.05). However, the MYOG gene showed no significant effect in this study. These results reconfirmed that GHRH and H-FABP are potential major genes or markers for economic traits.

육계에서의 양지, 우지 및 레시친의 이용 (The Utilization of Mutton Fat, Tallow, and Lecithin in the Broilers)

  • 육계사료의 대사에너지 및 단백질이용성에 미치는 양지. 우지 및 레시친첨가의 영향을 조사하기 위하여 옥수수. 대두박 및 어분을 주로 하는 사료에서 상기 유지가 각각 2% 및 5% 함유하는 사료를 단백질함량과 대사에너지함양이 동일하도록 옥수수와 대치하거나 소맥당을 첨가하여 제조하였다. 육계는 처음 1주일간 시판배합사료를 급여하고 전기 4주간 흑은 후기 3주간에 단백질과 대사에너지 함양이 각각 다른 사료로 사육하여 성장 및 사료요구율을 측정하였다. 또한 전기사료를 급여한 3주령의 마지막 3일간은 분요혼합물과 사료섭취량을 24시간 간격으로 측정하여 전기사료의 에너지이용. 실소축적량 및 지방의 소화율을 조사하였다. 육계의 성장. 사료요구율 및 평균일당 증체량과 사료요구율에 있어서 각 유지사료급여간이나 각 유지 2% 혹은 5% 급여구간에 특별한 경향은 없었고 서로 유사하였다. 대사에너지함양은 전기사료 1g당 2,713-3,059Kcal이었고 총에너지의 대사율은 62-70%로 기초사료급여구가 가장 높았으며 유지 2% 첨가시에 비교하여 5% 첨가시에 낮아지는 경향이 있었으나 유지의 종류에 의한 특별한 경향은 발견되지 않았다. 3주령시에 1일1수가 대사하는 에너지량은 132-168Kcal였으며 유지의 첨가량이 5%로 증가할 때 낮아지는 경향이 있었다. 이때 질소 축적량은 0.631-0.738g이었으며 양지와 우지의 첨가량이 5%로 증가할 때 2% 첨가시에 비교하여 증가하는 경향이 있었으나 레시친의 경우는 그 반대였다. 유지의 소비율에 있어서도 48%로부터 76%의 범위에 있었으나 서로 유의차는 없었고 기초사료급여구가 가장 낮고 양지 및 우지의 경우는 2% 급여시보다 5% 급여시가 높았다. 이러한 값들은 어분중에 함유된 지질과산화물에 기인한다고 추측되었으나 레시친급여구의 유지의 소화율은 2% 급여시와 5% 급여시에 유사한 값을 나타내었다. 이상과 같이 단백지 및 에너지이용에 있어서 양지는 우지와 비슷하였으나 레시친과는 경향이 다르다는 것이 추측되었다.

생약제와 식이섬유로 제조한 다이어트 제제가 대학생의 체중, 체지방, 혈액지방분획 및 배변습관에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Herb and Fiber-Rich Dietary Supplement on Body Weight, Body Fat, Blood Lipid Fractions and Bowel Habits in Collegians)

  • 본 연구는 생약제와 식이섬유가 주성분인 다이어트 제제가 체중, 체지방, 혈액지질분획 및 배변습관에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 대학생 자원자 30명을 대상으로 5주 동안 실시하였다. 다이어트 제제는 1일 2회 섭취케 하되 본인의 일상 식사 및 생활양식을 그대로 유지케 하였으며 실험전 설문지 조사를 통한 대상자의 일반환경요인 평가와 식이섭취 평가가 실시되었다. 실험기간 중에는 주 3회 식이일지 작성과 매주 체중을 측정토록 하였고 실험 개시 일과 종료일에는 혈액채취와 신체계측이 실시되었다. 실험대상자의 특성을 보면 중산층 이상으로 평균 나이 21세로 정상체중을 유지하였다. 운동은 절어도 30분간, 주 $1\~2$회 이상하였고 음주율은 매우 높았으나 흡연은 거의 하지 않았다. 식사는 적어도 2끼 이상 먹는 편이나 외식빈도가 많았고 식습관이 불량하였으며 배변횟수는 보통이었으나 변비경험은 비교적 많았다. 영양소 섭취량은 전반적으로 낮았으며 실험개시기에 비해 종료시에 식이섭취 및 영양소 섭취량이 낮은 경향을 보였다. 체중, 체질량지수, 표준체중백분율은 물론 체지방비율, 피부지방두께, 허리둘레, 엉덩이 둘레 및 WHR등은 실험개시시에 비해 종료시 감소하였으며(p<0.05),반면에 근육량의 비율은 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). 한편 혈액 총 콜레스테롤과 중성지방은 유의하게 감소하였으나(p<0.05) HDL-콜레스테롤농도는 변화가 없었고 LDL-콜레스테롤농도는 실험개시시에 비해 종료시 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 혈압은 실험 전과 후에 변화하지 않았다. 배변횟수는 실험 개시기에 비해 종료시에 증가하였다(p<0.05).위의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 본 연구의 생약제와 섬유질로 제조한 다이어트 제제가 체중과 체지방 및 비만관련 신체지표를 유의하게 감소시켰으며, 혈액 중 일부 지방분획과 배변횟수도 바람직하게 변화하였다. 그러나 더욱 통제된 후속 연구가 이뤄져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

천연 소재 조성물의 3.3.3 System Diet Program이 각 단계별 신체조성, 혈청 지질 개선 효과 및 Leptin 수준에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of Programmed Dietary System of a Mixture of Natural Supplements on the Composition, Serum Lipids and the Leptin Levels)

  • This study was to investigate the effects of a silk peptide, and prune and raspberry mixture on the body fat, serum lipid composition and fat distribution in Korean women during the time they received these supplements. During the 4 month period of this research (June to October, 2002), 75 women (average age 22.9 yr) were selected as subjects. Their nutrient intake was investigated by use of a questionnaire and the 24-hour recall method. Antropometric assessments of the subjects were investigated by using the SBIA Method (Segmental Bioimpedance Assay, Inbody 3.0). The results were as follows: their mean body weight was 59.3 kg, their mean body height was 161.7 cm and their mean Basal Metabolic Indices (BMI) was 22.7. The status of their dietary fiber intake significantly increased (p < 0.05) after use of the supplements. Their body fat significantly decreased following the $3^{rd}$ stage of supplementation (p < 0.05), and their percent of body fat signiflcantly decreased after supplementation (p < 0.05). Their triceps and suprailiac circumference significantly decreased following the $3^{rd}$ stage of supplementation (p < 0.05). Their waist circumferences and waist-hip ratios (WHR) significantly decreased after both the $2^{nd}$and $3^{rd}$ stage of supplementation (p < 0.05). Their total cholesterol significantly decreased following the $3^{rd}$ stage of supplementation, as compared to their baseline results and those obtained following the 1$^{st}$ stage of supplementation (p < 0.05). Their LDL-cholesterol and LDL / HDL ratios significantly decreased following the $3^{rd}$ stage of supplementation, as compared to their baseline results and those obtained following the 1$^{st}$ stage of supplementation (p < 0.05). Their 4-HNE and total antioxidant statuses significantly decreased following the $2^{nd}$ and $3^{rd}$stage of supplementation, as compared to their baseline results and those obtained following the $1^{st}$ stage of supplementation (p <0.05). Their $2^{nd}$ stage supplementation results were significantly negatively correlated with their triceps measurements and WHR (p < 0.05). Their $3^{rd}$stage supplementation results were significantly negatively correlated with their anterior thigh measurements (p < 0.05). The above results show that prune, raspberry, silk peptide and dietary fiber supplementation to a routine diet improves body fat distribution, total cholesterol, and triglyceride levels. 대학생들의 성별 체지방율의 차이와 에너지섭취 및 소비량에 관한 조사 연구 (A Study on Total Body Fat by Means of Skinfold Thickness , Energy Intake and Daily Energy Expenditure of College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the percentage of body fat by measurement of skin-fold thickness and to figure out the relationship between the daily energy intake and expenditure among male and female college students. Measurements of height, weight , skinfold thickness, percent body fat, lean body mass were made, 새심 daily energy expenditure and dietary intake survey were performed on 164 (male 86, female 78) college students. The survey was conducted between October 10, 1993-November 20, 1993. The results are as follows : 1) The average height and wegiht of the surveyed men and women were respectively 172.$\pm$0.6cm, 62.2$\pm$0.8kg and 160.8$\pm$ 0.5cm, 51.5$\pm$0.6kg, BMI of those surveyed were 20.9$\pm$0.2 and 19.9$\pm$0.2 and body density of those surveyed were 1.06$\pm$0.0 and 1.05$\pm$0.0 , and the percentage of body fat of those surveyed were 17.3$\pm$0.5% and 23.2$\pm$0.4% , and IBM of those surveyed were 51.2$\pm$0.6kg and 39.5$\pm$0.4kg. 2) Mean skin-fold thickness at 4 sites of the surveyed men and women were respectively 11.6$\pm$0.5mm and 18.3$\pm$0.6mm. 3) Average calorie intake of male and female were 2121$\pm$54kcal , 1906$\pm$28kcal respectively 70.5:14.2:15.3 and 68.0:14.0:18.0. 5) Activity time record of subjects reveal that there was a trend for males to spend more time in moderate and high activity and less time in light activity compared to females. Total daily energy expenditure of male and female group were respectively 2784$\pm$51kcal and 2073$\pm$32kcal. 6) The skinfold thickness showed negative correlation with body density but it showed positive correlation with the percentage of body fat. The lean body mass showed positive correlation with physical activity and energy intake showed positive correlation with physical activity also.

초등학생의 스마트폰 사용과 체성분, 자세 및 근 속성에 대한 관계 분석 (Correlation between Smartphone Use, Body Composition, Posture, and Muscle Properties of Elementary School Students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between smartphone use, body composition, posture and muscle properties of elementary school students. Methods : A total of 22 healthy elementary school students in Daejeon, South Korea, participated in this study with informed consent. Smartphone use was evaluated with Smartphone addiction self-report scale (S-scale) for youth. Body composition (BMI, percent body fat, body fat mass, and skeletal muscle mass) was measured using Inbody. To assess posture, forward head posture and round shoulder posture were measured using Dartfish motion analysis. Muscle properties (muscle tone, stiffness, and elasticity) were measured on the upper trapezius, splenius capitis and sternocleidomastoid muscles using Myoton. To investigate the correlation between the main variables, Pearson correlation analysis was performed. Results : Disturbance of adaptive function, which is one of sub-component of S-scale, had a weak positive correlations with BMI (r=.538, p<.01), and body fat mass (r=.453, p<.05). However, scores of S-scale showed no correlation with posture and muscle properties. The correlation between posture and muscle properties was analyzed, and round shoulder posture revealed a weak positive correlation with respect to stiffness (r=.418, p<.05) and elasticity (r=.502, p<.05) of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Conclusion : Scores of S-scale demonstrated a weak correlation with body composition (BMI) among elementary school students, whereas S-scale scores were not correlated with the posture and muscle properties. Further research is needed to identify and focus on potential high-risk user groups of elementary students who are more dependent upon smartphones.
